relistening to episode 1 of malevolent and tell me why john's initial explanation of where he comes from is basically a summary of everything that has happened up to part 43. he literally even talks about multiple timelines distinguished by choices but all happening simultaneously (like kayne's piano explanation in intermezzo), including an ancient past where magic existed (hello witch!!!)????

Rust Cohle had my attention when he dropped the ‘I don’t have the constitution for suicide’ line but I have to say his most compelling trait so far has been that haphazard stack of nonfiction books on being a detective but not knowing about The King in Yellow. whatever is going on here is sparkling

#as in. quite refreshing bc the detective figure is usually random trivia heavy and playing their job by ear #but also that the way he articulates his thoughts has a literariness to the language #enjoying rust cohle’s dialogue and hart’s mortification + misery #and its atmosphere is perfect as I bake away in the summer rain-expectent heat #but uh. bit mid overal innit <- only 1.5 episodes in #log.#also genuinely didn’t think the king in yellow was niche like is it not a popular piece of horror

Good news! A quick clean of the battery compartment and king of idogs has full functionality :)

I did have to steal batteries out of the other dogs to run the test and now that I've started naming them I feel bad for taking their guts... so I'll probably put them back and buy another pack of batteries after I get paid lmao

#like i mentioned i don't know jack shit about plush customizing but I'd love to give this little guy some maintenance #refresh the fur and de-yellow the ears and then like... reinforce the neck a little so it can stand up better #ah.... now i do wish my grandpa was still alive. this was exactly his territory #old friends senior idog sanctuary #king of idogs
