Aaaaand done just on the day before Artfight begins. Demauria's reference sheet redesign/remaster is complete! When compared to previous reference sheets I've really had some growth- which is something I'll rarely say with my art.

For the heck of it I'll throw in the flavourtext from the artfight page;

"Demauria is one of the last of a Clan of monster hunters known as Fallen Slayers that hunt monsters called Fallenbeasts. In the loss of the last of her direct family she attempted to freeze the world in ice to take the Fallenbeasts down with it but was stopped/defeated by Kayla. She fled to far away lands and simmered on her mixed feelings only to be taken in by Riivar as Riivar's official/unofficial "bodyguard". She has been traveling with Riivar ever since, all the while trying to sort out her feelings and figure out the small scraps about her clan. She dual wields battle axes made of ice for melee, and uses a bow of ice to fire explosive ice bolts for ranged attack. She can use other forms of attack using ice/shadow magic. For those curious; yes the ice body armor can be melted off, but is easier said than done if she does not wish it to be melted off. She is a petite 4’6” in stature but makes up for it with attitude. She struggles with facing and compartmentalizing her various soup of emotions and so ends up translating them all into the form of anger."

tonight I am thinking about the twenty one pilots lore finale.

Specifically Clancy and Torchbearer. As someone that has been saying My Blood is about them since Trench its driving me up the wall. Clancy knew absolutely no home until he met the Banditos. Torch was everything he wasn't, more importantly someone he could rely on. Clancy knew that out there Torch is expecting him back, and that was worth fighting for. The absolutely wildest thing to me is the fact that throughout sai, Torch was truly just an illusion. I'm not even going to talk about how he referred to him as Josh, meaning Clancy and Torchbearer truly are pseudonyms they've come up with. How Clancy probably called for Josh/Torch in his sleep when he was captured by the Bishops and they all mocked him. Clancy probably was so relieved to see Torch once they escaped Dema, not realizing it was once again just. Not real. Navigating Clancy had his entire world flipped upside down. They were apart for literal years, and Clancy never realized that truthfully, he could never *feel* Torch. But now that he was in front of him, holding out his mask with an exhausted but accepting expression? Im losing it.

They planned the whole Dema invasion for years, they had to. Torch knew what needed to be done by Clancy, and he truly expects him to make it. Torch knows that for years, he expected Clancy to get out of that tower. But the way Clancy walked around the Bandito camp, the way he was so quiet during the walk back, it was obvious. It was obvious Clancy didn't know if he would come back. This battle was such a hard forecast, they might as well be going blind. But Torch still fully trusts Clancy, and vise versa. That being said, I don't believe we will be getting a major death. I think Dema will burn, and peace will be restored on Trench with a self ruled government of some sort. These two will probably end up having some cliche happy ending and honestly it is ALL I ask for.

so…. current theory with Clancy is that it's a two part album. we got part one back in May, I'm guessing part two will come some time next year.

what proof do you have, Missy? you ask. This. I have this: -Tyler himself asked "does this sound like the end?". heck no, it does not. -They've never-to my knowledge— referred to Clancy as a 'full-length' album, which I believe they've done with every other album -Wasn't the code to access the Paladin teaser something like 8325? it's a stretch, but… august third, 2025 could be the day we get something. the clancy world tour ends in may of 2025, so I could see them dropping something a few months after the tour's over. plus, getting part one of the album in may and kicking the first tour off in august, then ending that tour in may and kicking the next era off in august would be pretty poetic. -They've said they're not done making music after Clancy. so… this would be a good way to keep that promise. and—I don't have a reason for this, I just like the idea— what if they call it torchbearer? ending the story with a focus on the guiding light, the way to hope…

also I'm still 87% sure Dema won't fall. it'll always be here, we just have to learn to push on through, live with it. learn to focus on the positives, even though life isn't always going to be easy

I can imagine after a day or two of just living in the alternate world's Flower Fruit Mountain, the Matriarch notices Wukong acting very sullen and asks about it.

Wukong, distracted by the sights: "I'll admit, seeing the Mountain how it is now makes me feel inferior about my own." Shihua: "Why is that?" Wukong, face painted with guilt: "When I found the Stone Palace, I had just been a cub. Someone completely unaware of how vast it's history spanned before the Flood separated me from it. And when I angered Heaven, Samadhi Fire rained down from above, destroying much of the wildlife. When I returned after my imprisonment, I discovered that my people were decimated by hunger and poachers. It was only through many years of labour that I was able to get even the most basic needs of my people met once more." Shihua: "Even without knowing who you are, even when our island damaged by flood, fires and famine... you still rebuilt our kingdom?" Wukong: (*almost shy look on his face*) "Yes?" Shihua, adoring smile: "By the Earth Mother, you are my child. Anyone else would have abandoned our kingdom after such losses, but you did not." Wukong will not go a single day without his alternate family telling him how much they think of him and what he's managed to accomplish without them. They also give thanks to his Stalwarts for their undying loyalty.

Twenty One Pilots 7 - tape theory lol

So I think we all know what happened the other days. The red tape appeared on the covers of the past albums. What is interesting is that the tape only covers the eyes. Yet in case of Blurryface it covers one circle - and since it's Twenty One Pilots we talk about it has a huge significance

So get yourself a cup of coffee and let's break down the mystery 1. The tape - significance The tape was very important element to the previous eras. In Trench it was something that was used to cover what is important, which is yourself. Remember what happened in the Nico and the niners mv? After meeting Josh Tyler was given yellow tape to keep him safe.

But it was yellow - why? Because Bishops can't see yellow. So the tape this coloured can keep you safe. How we know that? Let's look back on Ride, Tyler says he likes to "stay in the sun where he's fine". The sun is commonly drawn as yellow.

In Scaled and Icy era the tape also made an appearance. In Saturday mv, after the submarine was flooded Josh used tape to try to fix it. But it was still the same yellow tape

Now the tape become red. It is usually associated with sacrifice, danger, and courage. But as you can see it is not used by the pilots. This tape is used by the Bishops to cover people/animals eyes. To prevent them from seeing something they are not supposed to.

But is it the first time we see the red tape? Not really, it is the colour that Josh used in Guns for hands mv. And as you can see the tape also covers his eyes...

2. Tape - covering eves

How we know it's Bishops? Well, they are the one who banned music from Dema. It is possible that they don't want other's to see what Banditos were doing, the rebellion. What does the tape cover?

On Vessel, it’s on the eyes of Tyler and Josh’s grandfathers, who in the album art could’ve served as the same vessel for their spirit.

On Blurryface, it’s blocking out the first circle, made for HDS. The bishop associated with that? Keons, the one turned (told you it will be important later).

On Trench it's over the eyes of a vulture, the Bandito’s symbol.

And on SAI it covers the eyes of Trash. Why? Trash the dragon represents a vulture. Citizens of Dema literally call vultures “trash dragons”, it means that they’re covering the vulture’s eyes completely.

3. Covering eyes in lyrics

The lyric from The Outside of course - "I’ve got a long drive, I’ll tape my eyes, so I don’t fall asleep again"

But we can also see eye reference in Heavydirtysoul in "Gangsters don't cry / Therefore, therefore I'm /Mr. Misty-eyed, therefore I'm". And you might ask yourself what the hell does HDS have to do with anything. Well it has a lot to do with Keons. 4. Keons and his importance

So we already established that he is important to this theory, because he is the one who is covered on the Blurryface cover. His name is derived from a Heavydirtysoul lyric, “choKE ON Smoke”. Th

So he is a Bishop but his eyes are covered - why? Well he could be on Bandito side this whole time. Crazy, I know but hear me out.

In the music video storyline, Keons plays a pivotal role in aiding Tyler's escape from Dema and supporting the Banditos in their fight against the oppressive bishops. Keons orchestrates a diversion to allow Tyler to flee and leads a plan to crash the submarine, saving Tyler from the fake bishops' schemes. He also frames another bishop for the submarine incident, leading to their demise. Keons ultimately helps Tyler take control of a bishop vessel to destroy Dema from "the outside". Makes sense right? So it would make him a threat to the other Bishops - therefore he has to be eliminated or blinded. So that he won't interfere with their plan again.

5. Let's talk colours again I know I said that the tape is red. But is it actualy? It could be seen as deep orange and orange also plays a significance in the lore. It symbolizes being a prisoner, like in Heathens mv and Choker mv.

You might say that Heathens is not part of the lore at all. But if we talk colours then Tyler was literary wearing orange while bein opressed and then changed to yellow when he played with Josh. As if he gained the freedom to play music and where the music is prohibited? In Dema

And in Choker Tyler wore orange beanie, as a symbol of still being controled

So I believe that IF the tape is orange it could be a colour of opression. Which would makes sense for Bishops to use it. But overall it also stands for determination and strength. It is sure something that Banditos will need for the final battle lol

And in the rap part in Choker you have "You get taller, bolder, stronger and the rearview only blinds you".

The rearview has a symbolism itself. Meaning, if we knew in the past what we know now, we could have acted on that insight.

And fun thing. The drumset in Saturday was also orange

6. Let's circle back to what we know so far

Well, that the album is comming, which is exciting. That it would be full of lore and that we would see more of the Bishops who are out for blood and revenge

a thought about the logo situation

in the paladin strait mv, we see the zombies taking the centre part of their gravestones to use as weapons. almost in reference to the song neon gravestones, with the idea of using their suicide as “a form of a weapon”.

then we have the logo. i believe we’ve had confirmation that the two sides represent the band and the fans, the middle part representing the music connecting the two.

so dema has chosen their weapon, the glorious gone, and signified this by removing the middle part of the neon gravestones.

the banditøs are instead using the music and its message as a weapon, signifying it by removing the middle part of the logo

SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM THE SACRED MUNICIPALITY OF DEMA [feast]

this was my gift for @silverlininghills as part of the cliqueblr 2023 secret santa exchange!! the concept was to create a 'corporate holidays greeting card' vibe, inspired by the scaled and icy propaganda posters and focusing on the 'icy' part of the aesthetic, with tyler & josh forcibly posing for the photo under the bishops' gaze. i sprinkled a few easter eggs/references/metaphors around, such as: - the shadow cast by the candelabra is the sai logo - on the left side, 'three lights are lit but the fourth one's out', hinting that something is not right in this scene - tyler on the left and josh on the right as per dema protocol - the lack of mouths on the band members is a result of them being censored & silenced by dema - josh leaning forward as if to eat the dragon—it can be interpreted as a veiled insult towards the banditos, perverting their symbol and asserting dema’s superiority through the act of consuming the enemy, but also as a subtle meta-reference to the fact that dema is literally feeding its citizens 'trash' (propaganda)

Twenty One Pilots dropped one of those 10 hour relaxation videos on YouTube with Ned. obviously, because of the merch drop a couple days ago, everyone freaked out (and still are freaking out) about it and analyzing every second of it.

above the fireplace that Ned is sitting by, there are two glowing yellow speakers that look like eyes. they look like Trash’s eyes and/or Keons’ and Tyler’s eyes in The Outside MV.

5:17:00

for the first five hours of the video, Ned is asleep. at 5:17:00, he wakes up and a TV that he is sitting in front of turns on. that day, May 17th, 2015, is the release of Blurryface. since Ned opens his eyes at 5:17:00, it references the release of Blurryface, the beginning of the Dema storyline, and the eye opening GIFs.

when Ned opens his eyes at 5:17:00, the TV starts playing a video of Tyler in his recording studio. the TV also plays the Christmas Saves The Year MV and a couple more that i cant quite figure out (tell me if you do!). and the last clip looks like Dema burning!

Summary of my thoughts on all the New Stuff after talking about it since I woke up: The new letter is not Clancy at all to me. Sure, a few parts of it SOUND like him, I'll give you that. But what new information have we gained from this letter, really? Not the other pages, not what the Bishops wrote. Just the Clancy letter. Clancy is standing at the edge of the water, thinking about this new power that he now wields. He knows he must cross back over the water and head back to Dema to enact a plan. It is a very watered-down version of the last handwritten letter that we got from Clancy. We know from the Evidence note on the side of the most recent letter that this was a transcription. However, I believe that this is not a one-to-one transcription. They took his words and changed them to suit their own needs. They took out the parts where he was unsure of the power that he now has. His questions, his talks of his experiences- everything that humanizes him is gone, leaving only the sentiment of "I have this power. I'm stronger than them, and I am going to use it." It uses/references old gimmicks- gimmicks that the Bishops would be aware of if they knew of Clancy's letters. The doubling up of the letters to communicate something. "Their compass lies". To me, they are looking back at old letters and trying to copy the style to produce something new. Interestingly enough, it also removes any and all mention of the Banditos. Clancy can outsmart the Bishops. Clancy stands there, at the shore. Clancy's left "embers of inspiration". The difference in the lines "This new power of psychokinesis worked, and I believe it can work again." of this new letter vs. "We both believe that we can use it [psychokinesis] to change the momentum of this war." of the old letter shows this best. The Bishops have removed the Banditos from the narrative entirely, giving the citizens of Dema a singular enemy to fear. They want to point fingers at this singular entity, someone who can harness this new power. They know that people have noticed Clancy. They know that they've read his letters. This is all just more propaganda, created to discredit him. It's a smear campaign.

TOP Theory

This is my opinion and what I have gathered from what they have given us especially in reference to the use of color in this story. I would love to know what you guys think:

Blue – Defeat. (Cold, ice, isolation, lifeless (Literally ‘the blues’)

Pink – Hope/love (warmth, purpose, affection, motivation, ‘showing signs of life’)

Yellow – Strength (light, awareness, presence, fight; temptation)

Red – Insecurity (Lies we tell ourselves and others, false sense of control)

Orange – Awareness (Unity, power, true control)

Battle between Red and Yellow before unity - “Tempted by control, controlled by temptation.”  

DEMA – the intense feelings of isolation and hopelessness; a wall we put up around our world and the others in it

Trash – Purpose (fire from within)

Ned – Idea/Creativity (a literal neuro expansive device) He starts as this strange looking rabbit creature and upon careful purification (Chlorine and all of its lyrics explain the careful balance between toxicity (overcompensation,) and cleansing) becomes this mythical Jackalope. (look up the origins of the Jackalope and you’ll roll your eyes, I promise.)

I feel like the identities of all of the characters in the story are completely interchangeable and are very much a metaphor for ‘masking’ (“I’ll morph to someone else”)  and  all of the different personas we take on as we battle ourselves and go to war for others. Josh and Tyler are torchbearers for one another. ( As we are for our loved ones/the clique and vice versa.) Tyler and Clancy are the same, just different personas that reflect the state of his mind and the point of the cycle he is currently trapped in. The same for Blurryface and Spooky Jim; characters that we create for ourselves to present to the world when lost and angry; a farce, a tough persona, false sense of control. Masking the problem without admitting to ourselves that we are masking the problem. The Banditos are us. They are Tyler and Josh. They are loved ones and family who have all awoken to the problem and serve as ‘battle buddies.’ “Cover me.” The Bishops are what Spooky Jim and Blurryface have the potential to become in the opposite, if they were to allow the anger to win. People who turned the anger into the desire to hurt others with their personal pain stemming from the intensity of their own insecurities that they have allowed to win; they relish and thrive in hurting others, especially those who are already low, lost, and isolated.

I think we’re all thinking that at this point in the story we will also focus on Josh and his insecurities as well as Tyler’s. The blue beams of light coming from Josh in the ‘Choker’ music video that gave him the ability to shrink figures – Negativity literally spewing from the eyes and mouth of Josh/Spooky Jim, (which is also why Jim was in the video. I feel like that was a hint for us.) Was a signal to us that Josh/Spooky had also been under the control of the bishops and trapped in DEMA for a time, (hence Joshua’s t-shirt) so much so that he was oozing defeat, isolation, spitting ice. Interestingly, Tyler appears in this video in an orange beanie, which tells us that in this point in the story/cycle he had found balance within himself and was acting as the torchbearer for Josh to bring him back into himself.

This is similarly reflected in the video we thought was just a joke with a very alone Josh flashing his blue eyes and mouth at random objects and turning them pink before finally catching Tyler, who bursts into the room suddenly, and turning his hair pink. Feels to me more like yet another visual metaphor for allowing the defeat to spill out into your world amidst feelings of loneliness without aim or purpose, until sometimes, we manage to reach out to the right person. A person who upon hearing and seeing a loved one in distress is hit with a spark, motivation, and purpose to fight for you/themselves when you are incapable.

Pink is the in between. It’s purgatory. Where you decide to sink or swim.

In Shy Away – Trash is flying, the feeling of finding ones purpose has taken off. The walls of isolation are beginning to crumble. The set looks as though it is falling apart. We see multiples of Tyler and Josh (Different personas or even a reflection of how many times they’ve been in the same place,) all wearing masks that are almost useless at this point with how destroyed they are.

Now we move to the Saturday  music Video – Everything is coded cold blue, defeated; lifeless, not yet dead but still strong enough to seize the mind and break free from the isolation, from under the control of your insecurities. Even sometimes using them to do so. Keons. Keons being the bishop in the story to come to awareness against the other bishops, befriend Tyler/Clancy and harnessing the lifeless (but not dead) Trash dragon to break through the submarine in the ‘Saturday’ music video. The submarine acts as an extension of DEMA in this part of story. An attempt by the bishops to further isolate and drown out the fire that had been sparked within Tyler/Clancy by placing them ‘within a fishbowl’ under water. (Which is also clever because what is ice?) Tyler’s hair is pink in this video, he stands on a platform that looks like it glowing, like he’s standing on embers, and Josh’s drum set has also changed to reflect this. Josh, Tyler, and Keons together with Trash (still blue, but the beginnings of self-actualizing purpose) break free of the submersed walls of DEMA to then wash up on the shores of Voldsoy. Sink or swim? Display or redecorate?

The Outside – Again in this video, we start with blue, with ice. Josh is again now The Torchbearer for Tyler/Clancy who upon battling the waves (frigid waters of the mind and its waves,) is beaten down and in need. Once together, Josh drops the torch and together they go in search of shelter, respite on this ‘Island of Violence.’ It’s not until they catch sight of Ned that the lighting begins to change. Together they’ve found the tool, an idea, a spark, a weapon. Tyler and Josh part ways. The camera angle changes on Tyler and for a moment he almost seems larger than life as he travels through this dark cavern, (going down the rabbit hole, chasing the rabbit,) Tyler then sits with all the Neds, his ideas, around a blazing fire, taking a drink from one of them (a call back to the ‘Chlorine’ music video where we are shown purification and realization of an idea.) The lighting becomes orange. He follows the Ned we all assume to be the one from Chlorine to the sand, to the sea. Using the antlers, Tyler reaches across the gap and into the isolated parts of his mind, of DEMA, to then take down Keons using the very same weapons that Keons himself used to free Tyler from the submarine. Because “sometimes to stay alive, you’ve got to kill your mind.” The video ends with both Tyler and Josh carrying torches, signaling to us that The Torchbearer has always been interchangeable, that at this part in the story, they have won against themselves and are ready to fight for others.

Now we’ve got the colors of this new era coming together. Everything points to ‘war.’ “Am I the only one I know waging my wars behind my face and above my throat?” Blurryface, Spooky Jim, Banditos, the Bishops; Red and Yellow. Duality within oneself. I personally feel that Blurry and Spooky are fighting alongside the Banditos BECAUSE they are all interchangeable. The Bishops are painted as being the ultimate bad guys in this story and that is because of their origin. Anyone can become a bishop when you let anger, spite, and vindictiveness consume you in the cycle of sadness, hope, creation, fight, and anger. We’re fighting against people who seek to target others in their own misery. We’ll see Trash again, only this time it will breathe fire. We have been weaponized with this idea, this purpose of his which has become ours as we use it to fuel our own fires. We hold the antlers. We too can control Trash. Bring it to life and create an inferno.
