Viktor didn't have to do all that. He did not need to grab Jayce like that from behind or make his little deranged smile. He was having the time of his life in his little villain arc while also grabbing Jayce in the most unnecessary ways if the only thing he wanted was to restrain him effectively.

And Jayce was at some point just straight up letting him do whatever. It's so fucking funny, Viktor takes his hammer and it seems like he just realizes he should NOT let him just do that a split second later and starts flailing in the saddest looking display ever. Man was too busy discovering things about himself as Viktor choked him to remember he should not let him just grab his goddamn weapon.

They did not have to do all that. But they did and I'm going to keep laughing at them for it.

So episode 8, after Jayce kills him, Viktor still goes to talk to him (albeit through one of his avatars) pulls him in and straddles him and holds his head by the chin, asking Jayce to work with him again. Then after Jayce rejects him that is when he gives up the last of his humanity. Until Jayce pulls it out of him again!
