Summary: Y/N stays over at Fraser's for the first time after their usual Hockey Night in Canada Saturday date

Notes: Thank you so much for the request! I love writing for Minty and there is a lack of Minty content on here. Hope you enjoyed!! Prompts 35: "That's my girl" and 39: "You're blushing" "No I'm not". I also made up the entire game except for the misconducts that were given in an actual Florida-Ottawa game last fall.

As per weekly Saturday tradition, Y/N and Fraser watch whatever hockey game is on TV. Both avid hockey fans and players, they both grew up watching Hockey Night in Canada, rooting for their teams with unabashed pride; Fraser for Vancouver and Y/N for Winnipeg. Occasionally, their hockey-watching dates are over FaceTime when Fraser is out of town for games and he often falls asleep, his phone dying overnight. 

Tonight, however, isn’t one of those nights. The Blades played a rare Saturday matinee game, ending just before four. This gave the couple time to make dinner before the start of the game. His billet family is away visiting relatives for the weekend, so it’s just the two of them. They settle in for the game with plates of spaghetti and salad. Ottawa is playing Florida tonight.

“This should be interesting.” Y/N comments, “nothing good ever happens when the Tkachuk brothers are on the ice together.”

“Very true. How many fights do you think will happen?” Fraser asks, half-Joking, half-serious.

“Oh, easily three or four.”

The game starts off fairly uneventful. No goals from either team and only a penalty or two. But you can tell the teams are chippy with each other. It's the start of the second when things finally amp up. It starts with a slash to the shins of Jakob Chychrun from Nick Cousins, sparking Brady Tkachuk to get involved. The refs are able to break it up before anything exciting happens. There is a pair of goals in the last 10 minutes of the first, so the teams are tied heading into intermission. The second follow is much of the same pattern; a goal for each team, a few minor penalties, and one scuffle. They had barely taken their gloves off before the refs broke it up, boring.

“ Boo.” Fraser says to the TV, “Let them fight, it’s more exciting that way.” 

Y/N laughs and rolls her eyes. But he's not wrong, “You just like to see Matthew stir shit up.” 

“You've got me there.” 

It's in the dying minutes of the third one Fraser gets his wish. A cheap shot from Carter Verhaeghe sends Parker Kelly into the boards awkwardly. He doesn't get up as both teams end up in the corner. Claude Giroux tries to pull Parker away from the fight. The rest of the guys grab each other and start fighting, well most of them anyway. Brady and Matthew are both in the mix. Helmets are off, gloves and sticks are scattered on the ice and the refs are circling. Parker got some help getting to the bench and is getting checked by a trainer. The fight goes on, eventually guys are in headlocks, jerseys are half off, and others are piled on the ice, still swinging punches. The refs break up the fight, sending the guys towards penalty boxes before dishing out the penalties. 

“Every player on the ice gets a 10-minute misconduct, except for the goalies and Ottawa number 27.”

Both Fraser and Y/N are staring, absolutely dumbfounded. Almost never do 10 players get game misconducts. 

“Well, there's the entertainment for the night.” Y/N quips.

The last few minutes pass quietly, the benches are looking very bare, five guys gone from one side and four from the other. Fraser has nodded off by the time the game ends, and Y/N isn't far behind. She turns off the TV and folds the blanket that she used. She sighs tiredly, looking around the dim room. Fraser’s half-asleep on the couch, all sleep-warm and face cast with shadows from the kitchen lights. Y/N moves about the room, gathering her bag and phone. She smiles softly, love in her eyes as she looks as Fraser. She wakes him gently, prompting him to go to bed.

“Just stay.” Fraser mumbles sleepily, yawning. 

“I…I don’t know.” Y/N hesitates, wanting to say yes.

“Please.” He interrupts, giving Y/N a soft, pleading look.

Y/N stays quiet for a minute, reaching out to brush a piece of hair off of his forehead, “Ok. I’ll stay.”

“That’s my girl.”

Y/N flushes, turning shy all of a sudden. She looks away, avoiding his gaze. They haven’t slept over at each other’s places yet, and it makes Y/N’s cheeks warm.

“Why’d you get shy?” He asks as they walk to his room.

“What? No I didn’t”

“Yes, you did. Look, you’re blushing.” He grins at her, poking her cheek.

“No I’m not.”

“Yes, you are. And it’s cute.”

Y/N gives him an exasperated look, she will never admit it but Fraser is right. It’s their first night sleeping over together so it takes an extra few minutes to get everything sorted. She is a little jittery, nervous to share Fraser’s bed with him. Her brain goes into overdrive as she tries to avoid making things weird. Fraser gives her a shirt to sleep in and he pulls on a pair of sweatpants. They stand on opposite sides of the bed, unsure of how to proceed. Sure, they have cuddled before, but usually that was on the couch or her cramped twin bed at school. Fraser climbs in, throwing back the covers and he holds his hand out for Y/N to grab. She takes it climbing into the other side. He pulled the covers over them, rearranging his pillow for optimal comfort. Y/N does the same, relaxing more as the minutes go by. Fraser reaches over and shuts off the lamp, sending the room into darkness. By the light of the moon, they face each other. Fraser pulls Y/N closer, giving her a sweet kiss on her forehead before tucking her into his chest. Before long, the couple has drifted off, wrapped up in each other’s arms like it's the most natural thing in the world.

5 “I hate Christmas shopping.” - “I love Christmas shopping!” with chloe kelly.

There are only a few things you truly hate in life and shopping is one of them. You will happily do it online but in person, that is something you avoid.

“What do you mean you haven’t done your shopping?” Chloe shouts from the living room of your apartment.

“I didn’t need to. I found presents for you and your family and mine aren’t coming until the 28th hence why I am going out today”

To you it was simple and you worked better under pressure but by the look on your girlfriend’s face doing your Christmas shopping on Boxing Day isn’t the best idea.

The look on Chloe’s face is very familiar. It’s the one she gives you when you go in for a bad tackle or when you argue with the ref. It tells you that you are wrong and she is right.

“And it’s cheaper!” Your attempt at justifying your decision doesn’t work.

“It’s the Boxing Day sales idiot of course it cheaper. It’s also going to be busy and let me guess you want to go to Trafford centre”

“Yes, I do. If we go there then we don’t need to go anywhere else”

“Who said anything about we? I already have your family’s presents”

“Perfect! We can just add my name to the tag”

“Y/N your parents are flying all the way from Australia to spend New Years in London with us, the least you can do it buy them a gift” you go to interrupt but Chloe holds her hand up “and no, you are not getting them gift cards”

“Fine but please come with me” you give her your best puppy dog eyes knowing that they have never failed you in the past.

“Go get ready” Chloe pushes towards your bedroom.

“You’ll come with me?” your turn around excitedly.

“I can never say no to those eyes”

“The eyes Chica, they never lie” you quote one of your favourite films.

“That doesn’t even make sense. Now go” Chloe playfully smack your bum.

“I don’t care. I’ve always wanted to say it”

A couple of hours later and you are half way round the Trafford centre and it’s no surprise to you that your good mood soon soured when you entered the shopping centre. Chloe on the other hand seemed to be in her element and proved this by picking out most of your families gifts only including you when she needed your credit card at the checkout desk. Chloe had put you on pay duty and bag carrying duty.

After a quick food break and dropping the first load of presents back the car, Chloe is ready to hit the ground floor shops.

In your eyes you were done. Every family member that was visiting had a present, some had two yet Chloe kept telling you that you needed more.

“I hate Christmas Shopping” you were fully aware that you sounded like a child but you didn’t care. Your mood was worsening and your patience was running very thin.

Then you notice the shop that Chloe is pulling you into. Victoria’s Secret. More importantly into the lingerie department.

You watch her try several pieces on and you even get to pick some out. When you leave the shop you are in a much better mood.

“I love Christmas Shopping” you joke as you walk back to the car.

Mom asked my brother Jon to turn the tv off, so we could all eat pizza and talk like a family is supposed to. Mom hollered for the girls: Sabrina, Khloe, come on girls; It's time to eat! SCREEEAAMM! It was Sabrina, ‘Mom! Mom! Mom!’ She cried!  ‘Mom, it's Khloe! Mom!" It took my breath when I heard it! The high-pitched sound of a panic-stricken voice was enough to take my breath when I heard it!" It was awful, consumed with the sound of pure terror. It sounded like it came from one of Sabrina's horror movies. Jon shot up out of his chair! ‘What did she say?’ he asked; Mom reluctantly dropped her eyes to the floor. She bent her elbow and brought the back of her frail wrist to support her head. I saw the back of her shoulders start to bounce up and down, again and again. She then dropped down, to sit on the floor and then used her feet and legs to help slide her back up against the wall then she used her arms and elbows as a pillow to cover the tops of her knees. She started to rock back and forth. It seems like mom would have rushed in to see what Khloe was screaming about, but no, she wasn't moving, I know she didn't, but it almost was like mom already knew, somehow, that she didn't even have to go look.  I know that sounds crazy, but... And Jon almost made me fall as he hurled past me, and around mom to go back to Khloe's room where he then started hollering for Mom, she stayed glued to her position. I watched her tears make little splashes on the floor. It made me think of grandma's pond, in her back yard, the way it looks when the smallest rain droplets fall, barely bursting through the top of the pond's water, making that perfect tiny, tiny, plop; on top of the pond's surface, I've always liked to look at that pond at the very first stage of rain. Not this though, I can't stand to watch mom cry! ‘Come on mom,’ Sabrina said after she kneeled, and was helping mom to her feet, ‘ You have to face this,’ she told mom.  She finished helping mom up and began to walk her down the hallway. Mom never expected, on her drive home, the horror that awaited her arrival. I finally finished watching it XD!

Pre: No hate to Kevin Kelly, but A) no Chris Charlton :( and B) single person commentary always sounds weird to me. Glad he at least has the onion with him so he doesn't get lonely!

Match 1 - Kushida vs. TJP: mostly skipped 😞 Kushi loss sad

Match 2 - Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Dan Moloney: skipped

Match 3 - Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Lio Rush: I'm gonna be honest, I refuse to skip this match mostly because I need to see if Taguchi stays serious or not, I'm hooked. Otherwise I would have skipped it simply because I only have so much time and there is so much wrestling. During Lio's entrance they mentioned him being attacked by Evil yesterday, and like this is the oldest of news but I still can't even that they just have a wrestler named EVIL. Oh. Okay we have TJP on commentary idk if I can do this. He just irks me as a character. 😞 Poor Taguchi. TJP did not annoy me as much as I thought he would, at least so far. The continuing building lore of the onion lol.

Match 4 - Clark Connors vs. Robbie Eagles: Seriously need ZSJ's son to stop being cute on the ring apron.

Match 5 - Sho vs. Mike Bailey: Hehe, I hope Bailey kills him. HAHA I'M GOING TO FIGHT SHO FOR ATTACKING BAILEY WITH THE CHAIR BEFORE THE MATCH WHY ISN'T ANYONE STOPPING HIM HAHA GIVE ME A HAMMER, PAC. I'm going to shove Sho's wrench up his ass for attacking Speedball with it. DO Y'ALL NOT HAVE ANY OTHER REFS THAT AREN'T BUSY RN BECAUSE THIS GOING ON ON A LONG TIME WITH THE CHEATY CHEATING. Speedball still wins!!! YEAH!! Young Lions can we get the ref some ice please? Speedball using the chair as a cane 😢.

Match 6 - Kevin Knight vs. Francesco Akira: skipped

Match 7 - Titán vs. Taiji Ishimori: Pretty pretty Taiji, pretty Taiji. Can he not look directly into the camera I am FRAGILE. Why does his hair look so soft. I'm feeling so normal about him. Sidenote, TJP's comments on Titán were interesting to hear. TJP and Kevin Kelly memeing about Finlay sitting in an office, going over BC's paperwork to evaluate them lol. KEVIN KELLY POINTING OUT THAT GEDO IS THE ONE RUNNING BC.

Match 8 - El Desperado vs. Bushi: skipped

Match 9 - Hiromu Takahashi vs. Douki: Well I made post about how I DIED during his entrance, so let's just pick up from there. He took the jacket off and it's worse now because his pretty arms are out. He is bouncing around so full of energy it's so cute. I love seeing the Daryls and other Takahashi family in the crowd during Hiromu's entrance. I miss not having Chris on commentary to tell us what Hiromu's book says. OH MY GOSH SUDDEN CLOSE UP OF DOUKI SO PRETTY. I"m fine this is fine. Can we never let him wear my favorite color again please? The way he MOVES. Douki Chokey!! MAINTAINING WRIST CONTROL AND TRANSITIONING SO SMOOTHLY. Okay like I KNOW they're not gonna put Douki over the champ on night 2 BUT THESE NEAR COUNTS HAVE ME OUT OF BREATH TRULY I CANNOT BREATHE. Gosh, like Douki did SO WELL and fought SO HARD and I knew he wouldn't win against the champ on night 2 but OH MY THAT WAS INTENSE.

Just the main event. Wato and Yoh. Not sure I can handle it right now. OOPS HAHA POST MATCH ANGY DISHELVED DOUKI okay we're good now.

Match 10 - Yoh vs. Master Wato: If Yoh can stop with the cocky facial expression and put his tongue away that would be appreciated. The fact that his "ring jacket" atire has THREE SEPARATE LAYERS he has to remove before the match is so Yoh. OH MY GOSH HIS. HIS. And he's so. Is he. The LIKE. SASS? THE BRIDGE ALDKFJALDKJFA . Wato's tights are so elegant and intricatnly patterned. YOH IS POSING TO TAUNT. Still can't believe he's bearing his calves. DOES WATO HAVE A SCAR ON HIS SIDE? Gosh Yoh's movemensts are just so fluid. These two are really fun to watch work with each other. WHERE IS YOH GOING LOL HE JUST JOGGED OFF. He's talking a stroll alkdjaldkj. Is Yoh gonna turn heel (maybe it's already happened since I'm only on Night 2), I'm not sure I'll survive that. THAT TAKEDOWN. 🥺🥺Yoh patting the little boy's head🥺🥺 TJP referred to Yoh's arm/shoulder that Wato was targeting as his "hurt wing" and now I'm imagining bird Yohhhhh Sidenote: I love Red Shoes Wato lying in pain on the mat😞 I'd like a dozen more of these two against each other please. Yoh just did the most dramatic drop sell, I love him. WATO DON'T PULL ON HIS CUSTOM JEAN TRUNKS. THAT POISONRANA. OKAY THAT'S A STRONG HIT ALKDJALDKJ. DIRECT DRIVE THIS HAS GOTTA BE IT. Love a cover where the winner is JUST AS EXHAUSTED AS THE OPPONENT THAT MAN IS DED. Gosh he's so pretty. They're both so talented and I love them, amazing main event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOH FREAKING ROLLLING BACK INTO THE RING WITH THE MIC AND JUST LIKE. FLAILING AROUND LMAO WHAT ARE YOU DOING. Oh he's standing now OH HE'S SCREAMING NOW LOL "Eloquently put" -TJP lol. I wish Chris was here to translate what Yoh was yelling about, but from what I can tell he's being a bit of a diva lol. He sure does love to yell this boi. He's walking to the back so sassily aldkjaldkja.

iO Tillett Wright.

Wright testifies he lived with Heard between August 2013-June 2014. He says he stopped being friends with Depp in 2015.

Wright tells Depp's attorneys he never witnessed Depp physically abuse Heard. He goes on to say Depp, when sober, was lucid, imaginative, and a kindred connection.

Wright testifies he had a strong connection with Depp after meeting him at a "family dinner" Heard hosted.

He says Depp was very mean about Amber, saying Depp said: "All she's got are her looks, she's got no talent, when her t*** start to sag no one's going to want her for anything, so she'll need to find another way to survive."

He says Depp would become "very demeaning" towards Heard when he was drinking or taking drugs, saying Depp would say: "She was famous just because of her looks and because people wanted to have sex with her." Mr Tillett Wright also says Depp was derogatory about his fans, saying "he called them burrs which are sucker fish which attach themselves to the hull of a ship and make a hole in the side of it".He says Depp was also rude about his mother and his siblings, basically "anyone he felt had crossed him, he would become very nasty".

iO Tillett Wright, friend of Heard and Depp, testifies to hearing Depp say at his wedding to Heard: "We're married. Now I can punch her in the face and nobody can do anything about it."

Heard's former friend, iO Tillett Wright, says he and Heard discussed the poop incident on the phone on 21 May 2016.

Tillett Wright testifies to hearing an altercation between Heard and Depp over the phone on May 21, 2016, in which Depp threatened Heard and Heard screamed, prompting Tillett Wright to call 9-1-1. 

Raquel 'Rocky' Pennington

Ms Pennington is asked if she is still friends with Heard. After a very long pause she says: "We are not not friends."Ms Vasquez asks her what she means. Ms Pennington says: "We don't speak, we are not enemies. We grew apart."

She is asked if she ever had a physical altercation with Heard, and she says yes. She's asked to describe it and says: "I believe I pushed her. She either pushed or hit me back. I think it was on my cheek."

She says she witnessed Depp become "angry and aggressive" during an evening event around a campfire when on the trip. She says she had consumed mushrooms.She says it was there Depp became "angry and aggressive" with Kelly-Sue Molano. She says she thinks Ms Molano had also consumed "an amount" of mushrooms.Ms Pennington testifies she heard Depp say to Ms Molano: "Get off my woman." She says: "I think Kelly and Amber were hugging on a chair by the fire. [Depp] came out of nowhere."

she says: "It [the trailer] was trashed, it was torn apart." When asked if she saw Depp cause any of this damage, she says no, she did not.

Ms Pennington recalls seeing cuts on Heard's feet and arms but says she was not in Australia when she sustained these injuries.

Pennington describes a Thanksgiving dinner at the Eastern Columbia Building. She notes there was spilled wine "on the bed and on the ground" and that "there was glass everywhere."

Pennington later describes seeing Heard's head was "raw and red" with a chunk of hair missing. She also notes the area was bloody.

Ms Vasquez draws her attention to December 2015 when Heard called Ms Pennington over to her penthouse to check her injuries.

Ms Pennington recalls Heard "showing" her makeup artist her lip and her hairstylist the missing hair on her head.

When asked if she ever personally saw Depp cause Heard injury, Ms Pennington says: "I didn't see it."

Asked if there was a name she used when referring to Depp's different self, she says: "We called it the monster."Mr Rottenborn asks Ms Pennington to clarify who she means by "we" and she goes on to say the term was used by herself, Heard, Depp and those in their inner circle.The lawyer asks: "You heard Johnny refer to this other version of himself as the monster directly?""Either heard or saw it written in a text," Ms Pennington responds.

"Towards the end when the physical abuse was more evident I was worried. I was worried for her physical safety, I was worried that when he turned he might do something that was worse than he intended."

She describes injuries on Heard's face. Pennington notes photos of the injuries were taken the night before she appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden. (December 2015).

She often had to cover bruises and injuries on her face with makeup. Rottenborn: Did you see her cover bruises on her face with makeup? Pennington: Yes.

Two updated refs for my oc Nicole Reyes a.k.a. Pierrot! I'm also going to include a bio of them as now I have come up with a more detailed backstory.

Age: 15 years 3 months (by the time of season 3)

Pronouns: they/them

Occupation: supervillain apprentice, high school student

Nicky was an orphan and a pickpocket when they first met Sirque at the age of 9. The latter saw herself in the child due to them having a habit of stealing, and that their upbringing was unfortunately similar to hers, and so she decided to take it upon herself to take care of them with Hobby, her roommate at the time, and teach them acrobatics and some martial arts while she was at it.

Nicky's training continued for five years until Sirque decided to leave for San Fransokyo to become a full-time criminal. But, Nicky didn't want to go to San Fransokyo, so Sirque went alone, but made it clear that they are welcome to stay with her should they change their mind.

Three months later, Nicky went to San Fransokyo to check on their mentor. But shortly after their arrival they got into an accident, which landed them in the hospital for a good while and resulted in them losing their left ear's hearing. It is also that moment when Sirque decided to teach them sign language for communicating with different people. And both mentor and student knew that the new skill could also come in handy when they commit heists in the future as the melancholic clown thief in purple, black and white: Pierrot.

Asides from Sirque, Nicky made a number of new friends upon arriving at San Fransokyo. Their mentor's teammates Momakase and Cobra, and also Hiro due to him receiving training from Momakase. Nicky's relationship with the boy genius is full of banter, bragging and pranks, and they would sometimes go as far as to scam small amounts of money from Hiro (Sirque does not approve, Momakase encourages it, Cobra really encourages it) or to speak French on purpose as an attempt to mess with him. However, as time passes, Nicky eventually came to see Hiro as family the more they get to know him. And Hiro also knew more things about his sibling that they don't usually like talking about.

5.18 So that was a lot!

Posting without editing, so apologies for any errors. I am running on barely any sleep, but really wanted to get this written while I could.

Overall impressions were great episode .... but again there were issues for me. However I will address them as I go through my thoughts on it all, and please don't think I am trying go bring this episode down. I'm not. It really was great! I just still see things that haven't been done that could've easily occurred to appease fans further or are examples of why 5b has been so problematic for me.

The opening was good, in that they actually explained that Leviathan were no longer at the location they'd used in Earth 38 before Crisis. These little pointers are what have been missed a lot this season (a couple of examples later ref Kelly). Too often it's been, we need to find their location; no explanation as to why that is.

Now onto the whiplash with Kara and her anger towards Lena.

Kara is angry over Lena being at the fortress and the reaction over her use of Myriad. Alex is the one actually acknowledging Myriad is a trigger for Lena.

Alex, who suddenly starts defending Lena? Then Kara is convincing herself Lena is involved with Lex. Look, I get that she would feel suspicious, I get she has the right to feel angry. But it is this sudden, seemingly out of nowhere anger, not recognising the good in Lena she has staunchly defended until now. With Alex understanding Lena's position.

As I say, I'm not saying Kara doesn't have a right to be hurt and angry. But to see such a quick role reversal in the Danvers sisters in how they're talking about Lena? That is what I find difficult to get my head around.

I don't expect Kara to be there fully defending Lena as she has done. But this just feels OOC yet again. This really isn't normal for Kara. We've seen her angry and feeling betrayed by those closest to her before, but you could see how it built. Understanding as to why those actions left Kara feeling like she did (Astra and J'onn anyone?)

Did I mention whiplash? Because, whiplash.

But it is good to see Kara once again around a table brainstorming with most of the Superfriends. Using her intelligence and skills to try and figure things out.

Nia is also finally able to be involved properly. I still feel annoyed Nia isn't really in CatCo at all these days, because as much as I love seeing her as Dreamer, I want to see Nia as more than just a Superhero. I want to see her continuing as a journalist, and like Kara, use both skills together when feasible.

The Tower is actually getting used (those computers aren't simply sitting there looking pretty). How many episodes has it taken to see this used properly for more than a brief scene? Too long.

M'gann is back. I love M'gann, and despite still feeling angry that they had J'onn throw her into a DEO cell, with no due process simply for being a White Martian, I've always enjoyed the dynamic between the two characters, and it wasn't a surprise they kissed. Although god damn it, where was our Dansen kiss. Even a hug? But onto Dansen in a bit.

Alex got into some action. That car hood slide?! Phew. It is suddenly very hot in here. We certainly wouldn't complain if they throw a few more of those hood slides in future episodes.

This is the sort of thing a lot of fans love Alex for. Her kick ass, throwing herself around best.

Plus the scene with Kara in the library just before that, also had the Danvers sisters vibe we have just missed a lot this season, especially 5b.

The DEO being destroyed. Of course we knew it was coming, but it was still good to see the whole sequence of action leading up to it. Kara jumping through that window! Day. Made.

The Nia and Brainy scenes though. My poor Brainia heart. Actually the way Nia and Kara turned and walked away outside after the collapse of the DEO .... oof. Understandable but still gut wrenching. The parallels to Lena and Kara, with Brainy and Nia are also there. God damn it, what is with all this pulling apart relationships and friendships on the show this season.

Kelly, while still frustrated she is working with William, in this episode it made more sense, as Nia and Kara were out doing Superhero things. I've said for ages though, William really isn't needed to simply stand over Kelly's shoulder as she does her thing. Okay, so he realised an image inducer was being used, but if Kelly was working this on her own, (with the Superfriends at The Tower), you can't tell me she wouldn't have been giving the footage the same level of detailed going over that William was. Nothing in those scenes couldn't have been done without him. Kelly is far more capable to do this. She is ex-military for gods sake.

Which leads me onto Dansen, but also Alex.

Once again we had them acknowledge that as ex-military Alex was finding it difficult to adjust. I broached this in an earlier piece I wrote when J'onn and Alex were talking about it. I would've far preferred Kelly had that conversation with her girlfriend, at home. That end scene with Dansen was great, but the dialogue with Kelly's ex-army buddy - that should've been Kelly when Alex says her actions led to it happening. That whole segment had Kelly and Alex talking written all over it. Another wasted opportunity of so many this season. It is especially galling as we've had so little meaningful Dansen content. That small change would've made a huge difference. Plus no hug? No kiss? M'gann and J'onn get one, but once again Dansen don't, and they don't even get the intimacy of a hug. It is ridiculous. And people wonder why fans have had increasing issue of the LGBTQ storylines. Or rather lack thereof.

Which brings me to my other bugbear from this season. Does Kelly know Kara is Supergirl? I mean I think she does after last weeks episode, which I've covered at the time. But that is only conjecture on what we saw, not what we know for certain. Where is Alex getting her income from? Is J'onn paying her, and if so, where is he getting the income from? Are Kelly and Alex actually living together? Because Kelly sure as hell looked comfortable in Alex's apartment, and Alex certainly looked as if Kelly not only was expected to be there, but belonged there. I know we can't get every minute detail about their lives, but these aren't small things. Plus it would only take brief dialogue to explain what the situation really is.

As for Alex becoming a vigilante. I will be honest, I've never been overly comfortable with vigilantes in shows, however they are littered throughout The Arrowverse. In fact, without them most Arrowverse shows wouldn't exist. As for the support of Kelly, that was a pleasant change. She understood the difficulties Alex faced, and offered a solution. After all, she has the Guardian shield. Whether she becomes her own version of Guardian I guess we wait and see. But since Alex needs to try and stop both Lex and Leviathan and has no other means to do it effectively, a vigilante is the most logical step. After all, isn't that what they've all been doing since Alex left the DEO? They just haven't placed a name to it until now.

Time to go onto Lex and Lena. Possible trigger warning here.

"You're a monster. But that doesn't mean I have to be one to."

First off. Jon Cryer and Katie McGrath were masterful in the scene where it all came to a head in the prison. Despite my misgivings of the overuse of Lex this season, there is no doubt this is why he is so good! His emotional range just came shining through. Just as Katie McGrath's did.

Him getting up into her face like he did, and her flinching. Here is what I tweeted about it: "Listen, I've been in an IPV relationship. I can't speak for victims of family abuse and if they grow up in the same way, but the way Lena flinched in this scene. That was me when my ex did what Lex did. That was real.

Katie McGrath's shone in tonight's episode."

Katie just completely nailed it. This is when I wish I could just stand there and tell her just how amazing that scene was. The same for Jon.

Those who have denied time and again Lena wasn't a victim of abuse, or it didn't excuse her for her actions in how Lex manipulates her, this is why we spoke about it. This is the victim of abuse. If she wasn't expecting that to escalate into a violent reaction, then that scene wouldn't have happened like it did. She was expecting the blow. That whole scene was visceral. I'm still trying to get to grips with how once again, the acting just brings through a depth so often lacking. So please spare me the excuses of she isn't a victim of abuse. That scene is canon now to the story. Between Lex last season, and this leaves no room for doubt, and if you do - you're not doing it for any other reason than to simply hate on Lena.

That last scene with Kara and Lena. Fucking finally! It's only taken 18 episodes to get there. Again I am still frustrated Kara is being so defensive against Lena, but I also do kind of understand it. She is also feeling hurt and no doubt worried. Is Lena trying to trick her again, like she had earlier in the season. Will she get her heart ripped out if Lena is presenting her with an act. Trust goes both ways, and both of them have found it difficult to reestablish it. I get that. I really do. Again though I just wish it hadn't taken until 5.18 for any kind of resolution between them to begin. Even if it had gone to the 20 episode season as planned, we couldn't get time to really get this sorted. Kara needs to let Lena explain why Lena did what she did with more than that speech. She needs to understand just how abusive the relationship is between Lex and Lena, and why to some degree Lena fell back into old habits like she did. Much like we had Lena and Andrea get that backstory, to really help show why Lena has trust issues, Kara and Lena now need to lay those cards out on the table in a similar way. No more hiding. Sadly I doubt we will get anything of that depth, and we certainly won't this season. But it is a start and that's more than I could've hoped for before the episode began.

Lastly, William getting black bagged by Eve. I wonder if her anger at Lex will make her use William as a pawn to gain revenge? Or will she let William know Lex was the one who has fed William those details, or activated him? Still a weird ass way to describe it by the way. But we will see. Honestly, William as a whole holds absolutely no interest for me. So I didn't even find myself reacting to what happened. It was ... meh.

And that's it for now. I've almost certainly forgotten something, but it was a lot to take in this episode.

Overall, I felt this episode was far better than some of what we've seen so far this season, particularly in 5b. It certainly leaves me looking forward to 5.19 with less dread than of late.

Favorite thing about Hermione

So, a generic response would be something like "oh her strength" or "oh her brains" and while those things are really great parts about her, the thing that I like most about Hermione is that she's not afraid to stand up for herself when she faced bigotry. If I remember correctly, she had always stood up for herself and never took anyone's crap -- in the same vein, she always called everyone out. I feel like this is a really important and amazing part of her character because it's really hard to always be ready to confront others and stand up for yourself, she makes a really good role model.

Least Favorite thing about Hermione

Oh see, I have two right off the bat answers to that - what least favorite thing? She's great? (Keep in mind I did read the series when I was quite young, everything is put through rose-colored glasses, so to speak). My second answer was her relationship with Ron or in general, the way it developed. From the way I remember it, Ron constantly made fun of Hermione on multiple occasions, this going to a point where Harry was exasperated in having to deal with their drama, and then in the Half-Blood Prince, it turns out she actually has a crush on him? I don't understand it. And honestly, I don't like it.

Favorite Line/Quote

So this took quite a bit of sleuthing but I remembered the general gist of the quote I wanted to use.

Obviously, Hermione's had many more impactful and meaningful lines that I could've chosen - why did I choose this one?

I actually don't have a brOTP for Hermione - I love her friendship with the Golden Trio but it just doesn't hit the bar for me: some really good brOTP's I have are Matteo and Gaston, Percy and Grover, Jason and Nico, Meredith and Christina (Soy Luna, PJO, HoO and Grey's Anatomy, for those confused with the refs). If I did have to pick a friendship of Hermione's I liked and wished was explored more it would be Hermione and Luna, Hermione and Ginny, or Hermione and Neville.

Again, for Hermione, none of her major love interests really stick out to me, but if I did have to choose - Harry.

This, I've learned, is quite an unpopular opinion, so let me explain.

Even as children, Harry respected and thought of Hermione as his equal and friend, and often came to her for advice. He respected her knowledge whereas Ron (I'm not currently counting Krum as a contender, sorry) ridiculed her in the beginning.

But okay, going on - I just loved reading their friendship scenes, and when I watched the movies, again, loved the scenes.

and going on, I feel like (this is movie-specific) that there was always more chemistry with Harry and Hermione, rather than Ron, and again (move specific) the tent dancing scene was so adorable.

Dramione.

So this is another two-pronged response.

Draco Malfoy is a horrible person. In the books, he called Hermione slurs, bullied her numerously, and was just horrific to a lot of people. To want Hermione to be with him, with all of this in mind is really hard for me to fathom.

Now for the second prong of the response.

Dramione could've worked, in another world in which the HP books went a different route. If Draco had gone the same way as Sirius Black did - realizing that his family's values were not his, and running away, Dramione would've worked. In this universe, we could've acknowledged Draco's home life and family life, watched him unlearn the bigotry ingrained into his life, and start a friendship with Harry and Hermione. This way, Dramione would've been a good contender for one of my OTP's. Alas, this is not the case, and Draco's storyline went a much different route.

She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband who she knew was “the one” the day she met him. She also has two sons who own her heart. When she’s not writing, her pastimes include spending time with her family, traveling, reading, golfing, cooking, and baking.
