Update on my IMG (increasing melanin gene) motley Boa imperator, Burnt Toast! He’s increased in melanin and size! He’s lost most of the pattern down his sides, on his tail, many spots have faded a lot, and a good portion of his belly is very dark! Interesting that he’s losing color faster towards the back of his body, his head pattern looks unchanged. Gained more iridescence too! I’ll do a full body comparison soon.

had the most deranged conversation with my uncle where he explained that when he had pythons and boas (burmese and redtails) he trained them to eat live instead of f/t because he felt like it was their instinct and purpose to hunt. i was explaining that our wildlife center feeds all animals f/t rodents/rabbits because its safer and more ethical and he was like "well i dont care about the rodents feelings" um ok

he also talked about some sort of snake center that had a whole bunch of copperheads and would dump buckets of live mice into the tank so the snakes could slither around and catch them

at least he agreed with me that snakes need more than the tiny buckets people keep them in, he said he had like a 10x10 huge thing for his burmese

pet snakes?? they sound adorable

Classroom pets! My seventh grade science teacher was the coolest teacher I ever had. We had a lot of more student-friendly pets in that classroom, but my favorites were the snakes. Those were his pets. There were the two columbian redtail boas, and then Henry, who was something poisonous that we were not allowed to handle, for obvious reasons. I rushed to get my classwork done every day so I could hold one of the boas.

I just spent way too long trying to figure out how to long back into a facebook account with a dead email to recover pictures of the sneks, but the best I can do is generic pictures of columbian boas in general. : (

This guy looks a lot like the husbando of the lady who did me a chomp! They have such a pretty rainbow sheen on their scales.

And this looks kind of like the lady did. The females can get a lot bigger, and their scales look more dark and desaturated. Less rainbowy too, for some reason. Still very handsome!

This kind of thing is actually rare and doesn't happen everyday and it was Garth and someone was fooling around with one in it went in there and he had the door open and they're trying to screw around him and capture and stuff he pulled it out through it and took off in the mad tried to follow when they got hit they're already. And then you said this I'm going to get these m************ once and for all and he went after them he's getting help from others and said they're dumb and her son told him something and it slowly calmed him down and he just went and got an army instead of calming him down and they went out to burning Man grabbed a ton of trumps and Max and others found out it was true the max was getting taken over out there and went through their information check and accepted some of it this week and said oh my one of my babies has a secret went nuts with it and yeah Madonna might be sending it back she left a message and said that Trump is the guy he's marching around inside people and she had proof and lots of evidence and it's because of the particular mutation and it started to work

Mesmo que ainda grávida e sem apoio de sua família, Bora fez de tudo para fugir do país e criar seu filhote longe daquilo que a assombrava, contudo, isso não funcionou por muito tempo.

Para Yvan, que cresceu com suas duas mães ômegas e teve todo o cuidado e carinho necessário na infância, foi difícil lidar quando, aos 7 anos, descobriu que tinha um pai e avós que o procuravam já a anos na coreia e que, além disso, esses o queriam tirar de sua família. Com isso, a infância do garoto foi cercada de idas e vindas até aos seus 12 anos, quando enfim fora escutado e suas mães puderam enfim ter sua guarda definitiva, contudo, isso não era um fim de toda a briga pelo garoto. Poucos anos depois, os traços de seu subgênero começavam a se mostrar mais e mais e, enquanto o restante da família dizia que tais traços eram culpa do jovem ser criado por duas omegas, suas mães se preocupavam e notavam mais alterações na criança, descobrindo assim sobre seu filho ser um anima, notícia a qual não foi bem recebida pelo resto das pessoas ao seu redor.

Com o conflito sempre presente, o preconceito por diversas características de sua identidade e a dificuldade de lidar com as próprias emoções e as pressões irreais que o outro lado de sua família exigia, o omega crescia mais e mais agressivo, imprevisível e explosivo, traço seu que perdura até hoje e o causou diversos problemas com as escolas e até em sua faculdade, onde permaneceu por um bom tempo se forçando a lidar com sua família após os mesmos acharem que a escolha de universidade havia sido para se aproximar dos mesmos e não por ter passado somente na terceira opção de sua lista.

Atualmente, recém tendo se formado e terminado seus estágios obrigatórios, Yvan brigou com sua família e insistiu em, com a ajuda de suas mães, achar um lugar barato para viver na coreia, não querendo voltar a viver na Australia onde teve tantos problemas apesar do cuidado de suas mães e tampouco querendo viver na mesma cidade que seu pai e avós vivem, sendo assim, acharam na Blossom Groove um lugar promissor para o jovem enfim seguir sua vida.

Desde que se descobriu anima, Yvan desenvolveu uma grande curiosidade por animais em geral e, apesar de querer inicialmente estudar biologia, acabou cursando veterinária pois seu pai insistiu que essa opção era melhor para o jovem. 

Graças ao constante caos que sua vida era, teve somente 3 quase relacionamentos, tendo memorias boas apenas de uma alfa a qual se separaram apenas pela mudança de Yvan para começar a faculdade. 

Alguns documentos estão com o sobrenome de seu pai, e o omega odeia ser chamado por tal nome, insistindo em ser chamado de Yvan ou ao menos de Jung Yunseo

Seu anima é um cão lulu da pomerania, e Yvan mostra tanto as orelhas quanto o rabo do animal dependendo de suas emoções, ainda que esteja sempre tentando esconder. 

Adora teatro e música, tendo sido esses dois os únicos motivos de ter socializado e feito os poucos amigos que tem do passado.

This woman does not have enough money or time physically possible to properly socialize these snakes. And i bet she has nowhere near big enough enclosures for them. Retics need an enclosure at LEAST half the volume of a single bed. Where on earth would she be keeping them?? And the redtail boa dying of “pregnancy” (i couldn’t fully read the spreadsheet bc mobile) is also… horrible. If you don’t mind, i’m going to go research more on redtail care since they are specifically a snake i don’t know much about. Be back in a hot minute

So I was barely aware that she even had this bobcat in the first place- let alone that she still has it. She's only ever mentioned it like once before now? According to my spreadsheet (which I really need to finish) it was first (and last) mentioned in 2017- possibly a post made by a visitor and not actually Mikayla herself, IIRC.

Until now. Surprise! Mikayla has yet another exotic animal that she has essentially kept secret. I never could've seen this coming /s
