Conquest Knight + Update

Hello, I just wanted to post something, I am not dead. I just, I really just hate sketching, I hate doing lighting and shading or rendering or whatever.

This drawing is an old piece I never published but finished a while back.

[Ignore the update date, Ibis Paint has this weird thing where you press the information button it updates the date, it's stupid but it's whatever, I did finish it after three days after August, 2022 though.]

This is Conquest Knight, my OC for my Creepypasta AU, which I'm pretty sure I'll dub it something along the lines of a Non-Human AU or Humanless AU, because my days. When I was a child, I disliked every Creepypasta that was a human, especially Jeff, Ben, and Toby. Non-human characters are so cool and have so much freedom of character design and personality. I want to see more non-human designs.

Update One: Anyways, the update is I'm still redrawing my old piece of the Slender brothers. Speaking of which, I think I have decided to just make Markus Sinclair my own OC and not an alternate Offender for my AU. Because at this point it's not even remotely close to the original or follows the original design of said character. I feel awful about it.

So once I finish and upload that drawing I'll update all my posts that have Markus in it. However, feel free to send in requests of Offenderman and I'll try and make a design that's close in nature to the character that I'll be happy with, because I am a people pleaser.

Update Two: I am still working on my major project is SCP redesigns, I only have three done outta ten, I'm currently on 106. Like I said, I hate sketching. I hate rendering. I however love doing lineart. This project is going to take a WHILE, and I hate that. I am sorry.

Venting:

Running this blog has caused me so much stress, I know I state primarily that this blog is going to be Creepypasta and SCP based, but honestly. I just want to draw whatever makes me happy at the moment/month.

So to help me de-stress, you'll probably see some content that relates nothing to the two, and I know the last posts before this are also not related to Creepypasta and SCP which bugs me, but I've dug myself a deep pit and I want to get out of this... art block? Burn out? I have no idea what I've been feeling these past few months.

What are some of your favorite drawings you've ever done

Oh wow. That's really hard. Excellent question.

So I went through a bunch of my old art, all the way back to early 2021 (anything older would have no shot at being on the list), and gathered some of what I think are my favorite drawings I've done.

Note that these might not be in chronological order, nor in order of favorites. I don't think I could rank any of these over another (except for one that'll be at the end).

Let's start with this one (October 2022). Technically it's two pieces, but they go together. Obviously I like these because they're my header image, but let's get into it a bit. I'm very proud of the coloring on these, especially Chuuya. I think his hair looks really nice. This was back when I actually did colored lineart rather than what I do now (black lineart and set it to overlay), and I matched the colors really well to where it looks almost lineless. I continue to be proud of these almost two years later.

Next up are my GLOOM DIVISION pieces (at least, so far. I plan on doing more~) (May 2024). These are very different from how I normally draw, but they came to me very naturally. I really love the look of these. These pieces are some of the closest I've ever come to matching my visions for pieces, especially with SPKOTHDVL. I honestly find myself going back and looking at them a lot. I'm super proud of these. These are definitely in my favorites.

Next up, this piece from my cosplay redraw project (July 2023). I straight up think this is one of the best pieces I've ever drawn. If I may self-serve for a moment, the shading is immaculate, the posing is really nice, and so are the proportions. I'm extremely proud of this, and I think I'll continue to be for a long time.

Another one of my favorites might be this piece (July 2022). I feel like this piece was a huge milestone for me. It was the first time I did colored lineart, which really jumpstarted my whole "semi realism" style, which led to my art improving a decent amount. The anatomy isn't the greatest, but that's fine. I love the coloring, she looks really pretty, and my art likely wouldn't be what it is now if it weren't for this piece. Thank you red queen Algérie~

This one is another one (November 2023). I really like the shading, the poses, and the anatomy on this. It took me a long time, and it also has sentimental value to me because it's part of an AU that I made and really like.

Next, I really like my Implacable pieces (March 2023). I'm really happy with the shading and the anatomy and just generally how they look. I picked this one of her in her teacher skin rather than her in her normal outfit because I think I like this one more. I'm really happy with her pose and her hair and her face and the shading and the background...it goes on. This is one of my favorite Azur Lane works I've done. I feel I did her justice.

Next up, I love this entire Akutagawa project (October 2023). Akutagawa, in my opinion, is not easy to make look really pretty, and I think I succeeded. I specifically pick this piece out of the four because this one is my favorite. I love his pose and his outfit. The glasses look really nice on him.

Next, we've got this lovely piece (January 2024). This is my most recent Azur Lane work and, obviously, one of my favorites. It took ages and a lot of trial and error, but I'm very happy with the result. Both Hindenburg and Kearsarge look gorgeous, and while the background is kinda simple, I feel like it brings more attention to the characters. Also I'm a sucker for bunny suits and everything bunny🐇

Before we close off, I'd like to share these honorable mentions that weren't quite high up enough to be talked about (and Tumblr also won't let me include any more pictures), but are also up there as some of my favorites. Obviously these span a wide range of time, but they all have their own special charms and elements that make me love them.

Lastly, I'd like to talk about my most recent completed project (July 2024). This right here might be my magnum opus. One of the greatest drawings I have ever done. For those unaware, this is a redraw of a photo of my second favorite musician, Dallon Weekes. It was a bit of a trend to redraw the photo, and I, like many in the I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME community, absolutely adored the photo, and so, while I was very late, I hopped on the bandwagon and made this. It took a month, and because it was so late, that might be why it didn't get as many notes as I might've hoped. But you know what? I don't care. This is my favorite drawing I've done, probably. I think I did an amazing job. I'm incredibly proud of it.

I received this ask and started writing and compiling all of this before I completed this drawing, funnily enough, so I had no idea what my number one might've been. But now, I think I can safely say it's my Manic Project Dallon photo redraw. I know I wasn't asked specifically what my number one was, but I thought you might enjoy knowing.

Time for this year's Art Year in Review!

All during this year I have felt like I was struggling to get anything done. So looking back on it, I'm surprised to find that I did more this past year than I did in 2021. (Still not up to the levels of 2020 though.) The VAST majority of it was due to one project: the 10th Anniversary piece in June (48 pictures, 87 individuals, done in 9 days). If not for that, the year's total would have been pretty pathetic; I even wrapped up the year just doing some updated character-redraws of old pieces. But... I *did* do that, and probably burned myself out a bit doing it, so credit to myself where it's due.

Totals: 72 pieces (22 of them full backgrounds and color); 164 individuals.

I hope 2024 is better all around.

here's my 2022 art summary BTW

Some dates are wrong but I don't have finished art for every month ;; whoopsie

2022 has been a huge year for art for me! I fell back in love with a lot of old interests, really pushed myself out of my comfort zone, and did multiple pieces thar were far larger and far more detailed than I ever thought I could've! I'm really proud of what I've achieved this year, and I think I've made some really nice things.

I never thought I'd do so much lineless art this year! I used to avoid it in most pieces, but I feel like this year I've embraced it a lot more!

What I actually drew jumped around a lot too... we started the year with Genshin Impact and Identity V, some OCs, some redraws of photo references.. and we ended on a lot of MCYT fanart. I'll always be a fanartist first and foremost, I think.

Thank you to anyone who supported me in any way this year. I've absolutely loved reading through the tags that people leave on my posts and seeing people get excited over things that I've made. Here's hoping that 2023 will be full of just as much improvement for me as this year was!

Cleaning up my deviantart gallery can go from a quick organization task, to an addictive ‘’ok lets just do a lot’’ task.

I basically remove old pieces from gallery, by deleting them. No worries, I still have the original files on my drive. I don’t permanently delete my own work, I just remove old and outdated stuff from viewing, to make my deviantart more recent looking and presentable.

Since I do love these 3 particular pieces, I just wanted to make a blog post about them.

The 1st Image, as seen above is called ‘’Looking for ghosts’’ its from June 2019, late in that year I managed to draw again. I literally hadn’t drawn from around summer 2018 to somewhere in May 2019, all though I did draw FAIRLY little, and mostly sketchbook doodles.

I had been on hiatus as a result of depression reaching its peak. I do not remember 2018/2019 very well, unfortunately. But honestly, its also peaceful not remembering it. It was a very dark time for me. And I feel much better not living in the past of it.

I still need to redesign Moon, the OC depicted in this piece. I made this when I was still figuring out photobashing for backgrounds. It was the first of its kind, I think. Hence, its importance to me.

Most 2019 drawings are gone from my deviantart by now.

This drawing is titled ‘’No Suprises, Kenshin.’’ Which was supposed to be a cover image of a short comic I wanted to make to practice drawing comics. It ended up being thrown into the trash as my lore was still being developed for their world, and it is shelved for the time being as I’m working on Man Made Fire.

It was made in late 2019, when I had my confidence back. And published in late january, 2022. I still think this shows some of the things I should practice more today. Which is character interaction and reactive expressions. The idea of the comic was to explore a character gimmick, were Kenshin’s lip would curl if he was hiding something. Usually a surprise or gift, which annoyed his girlfriend. Mizuki has the sixth sense to detect if someone is being dishonest. She’s not a living lie detector by any means, but she can sense something is up or being kept from her. It sets off her alertness, and as a wilderness demon, Mizuki being on high alert is stressful for herself.

I do need to redraw this sometime soon. On the to-do-list you go?

The last piece is, ‘’Double edged blades that talk for you’’ which is a piece based on one of my ‘’poems’’ They’re not really poems, but more written like song lyrics. Unfortunately since I have neither a voice, or a musical talent of any sorts, that is what it remains to this day. A lyrical poem that is not sung.

I like this piece. This was the first? Drawing I did of ‘’vampire riel’’ or just an alternative more pale version of my persona that looked more tired and had red eyes. The Halloween doodle I do every year.

One particular note of this drawing is that I was starting to improve on the chin/ear parts of my facial anatomy. I was slowly starting to get a better grasp on hairline and eyebrows. My style does look quite different now. I was still using design doll for a lot of my artwork in 2020. I haven’t used that software after getting used to clip studio’s 3d models better.

That’s about everything I have to say, I think. It’s good to empty my mind and just write. I feel relieved? Or some sense of peace. Perhaps Tumblr will be a good place for these kinds of posts. If not from someone else, mostly for myself. Like an online diary in the internet void. 

Perhaps people will look at it and and see some kind of ghost of me in the far future. Dunno. I just want to leave some of my thoughts online. Somewhere. I fear being myself openly, because I info-dump and have too many thoughts.
