The Vampire Boys Have It Out

Vincent and Lovely are discussing Porter. Vincent is very honest about his feelings towards Porter, mentioning that Sam wants to devise a "gameplan" before the summit, but Vincent doesn't want to be bothered with it, but is going to discuss with Sam anyway. Vincent, very sweetly, thanks Lovely for coming with him.

They arrive at Sam's place, Darlin's answers the door and they chat with Vincent. They get down to business quickly, with the intention of getting it all out of the way.

Sam says that Porter has a "right" to be at the summit, giving Vincent the advise to just "hash it out" with Porter before the summit even happens. Vincent doesn't think Porter is reasonable, insulting in him the process but also mentioning that Porter "tried to strangle" Vincent after Vincent stood up to Porter about Porter's (seemingly) abusive language. Sam quickly informs Vincent, with love and respect, that Vincent was just as much a pain to deal with as Porter was. Vincent agues this point, but Sam isn't having it, giving it to Vincent straight.

Sam asks why Vincent hates Porter. Vincent says that Porter made his "life goal" to make Vincent miserable from the first day the two met. As Vincent is going on his tangent about Porter...there's a knock at the door.

It's Porter. Sam's given them both no choice, having told neither of them that the other would be there. The two are imminently bickering (at the least), and Sam is doing his best to navigate it. Darlin steps in briefly to advise Porter not to snap at Sam, and Porter agrees.

Vincent and Porter discuss why Porter has returned to Dahlia, and the conversation becomes an argument quickly. Porter acknowledges that they have clashing personalities, and that there isn't much to be done about that. We learn more details about their difficult "relationship," and that Porter seemed to have thrown the balance of the "family dynamic" off from the moment he joined the Clan. Vincent and Porter argue further, Sam eventually gets involved to tell both of them off, because to be honest, they're both acting like spoiled children.

The argument continues. And Porter says a lot. And Sam tells Vincent to set the record "straight," and for some reason Vincent doesn't want to.

Porter keeps going, and Vincent finally gets broken down, until finally his damn breaks too and he "sets the record straight." And Porter apologizes to Vincent. And then Porter snaps at Sam, they argue a little more.

Lovely punches Porter in the face. Porter says he "deserves" it.

Vincent half-apologizes to Porter, but drives his original point home. Porter and Vincent are honest with each other about their feelings, past and present. Porter half-apologizes as well.

Absolutely no worries! I like getting stuff to respond to, it's the opposite of a bother <3

So Redacted Audio, formerly Redacted ASMR, is a channel on youtube with a, quite frankly, massive amount of audio, and since it's been running for over 4 years now it can be a LOT to sort through. Fortunately, he's done a really good job curating and organizing playlists for the different speaker-characters.

Everything is within the same universe, and many of the characters have interacted with each other. The context is that the location is a fictional city named Dahlia set somewhere in California, which is a "cornerstone" city for magical society. The best way to get a solid rundown on magic and the setting is to listen through the Freelancer Season 1 playlist.

This one is already arranged in chronological order* and also has the benefit of giving a sampler of sorts for a wider variety of speakers. One thing to be aware of ahead of time: While this was actively being published, Erik hadn't decided who the listener-character (nicknamed Freelancer) would be romancing, so it starts off with a lot of potential toward all of them except Caelum. As it went, there were polls in the discord server that he used to run, and popular consensus eventually narrowed it down to Gavin. The first time I listened was after all of that, and I was more fond of Damien, but I'm personally pleased with Gavin now, and this playlist has been one of my favorites to just revisit if I'm bored.

*Well, mostly. There was a point where the channel got a strike for some of the audios being too spicy and he removed and/or edited some of them to try to avoid being demonetized. The first Gavin audio is one of the ones that got edited, and #3 on the playlist accidentally got relocated. It's been a long time, but I think it was originally after what's now #6, the second Caelum audio.

Aside from that one as a good introduction to the channel as a whole, there are some "main" characters that have had the most attention.

One is a group of wolf shifters: David, the current head of the pack (Chronological for his listener. A lot of people aren't super fond of the earliest ones for him, #3-5, because the character evolved a bit and they aren't really representative any longer) Asher, his second Milo, another pack member, which is absolutely underselling him, he's one of my favorites

There are a couple of vampires: Vincent, the OG for the channel Sam, a common favorite who's listener is a member of David's pack

While most of the playlists are specific to character, there are a few thematic ones as well, all of which are chronological within themselves. Now, chronology with respect to each other can start to get a bit confusing, because of how long it's taken for some of them to play out.

If you want to get a feel for the characters before worrying too much about timeline, I'd listen through most playlists as they're arranged with one main caveat:

When you hit the audios titled Inversion, give those a pause until you've listened to more speakers. Inversion was a huge crossover he did that has 10+ speakers involved.

A personal favorite has been Vega. I'm actually super not fond of the first audio he's in, which is also in the Freelance list, so I skip that one when I relisten. The first one in this list is that one with the Freelancer, but the second and onward has a demon listener nicknamed Warden. We just got an update on his story today/last night and I've been a little unwell about it 🙃

I am realizing I could go on and on and on and I kind of have, so I'm going to stop there. Hopefully that's enough to dip your toes in. I'll gladly help out with any follow-up questions, too :3

I don’t know why he doesn’t update you guys as often as us, and it is a gripe I have with him, but I’m more than happy to update you guys!

Firstly, the schedule has changed drastically. He will attempt to keep posting audios on the Friday/Saturday schedule, however audios have been bumped down to once a week, with the day it will be uploaded being sometimes random. On the sneak peeks he posts, there wont be a set date for any of them anymore

Second, the Anton Fooliverse audio will be the next audio released, whenever the day comes.

Third, the video he released on the Patreon is something Im not sure will be uploaded to the channel. It’s a part of a new series where he rambles abt the world building in the redactedverse. It’s not exclusive info, everything he talks abt is either on the timeline or has already been spoken abt in an audio before. It’s called Redacted 101, and he was js rambling abt the magic in a broad sense in the verse. What latents are, how magic works, how Aria and the Sovereigns worked, how FLs came to be, the Cacophony, stuff we already know.

It’s supposed to double as a informative audio and a sleep aid in a sense. I don’t know if it’s being released on the channel, however.

Been a redacted fan for a long while and it's really frustrating to see that he's stopped updateing his fans on YouTube and now only give updates to his patron.

Yt fans should also get to know when the upload schedule changes or when an upload is delayed, so we're not left in the dark wondering what's going on. I don't want to pay for something that was originally doing on both his yt community tab and his patron.

All I want are easily assessable updates ,I don't want sneek peeks or early access I just want to know whether to expect a vid or not.

Mine and other ASMR creators work is being stolen and put on Spotify as 'podcasts' without our consent!

There is a 'podcast' (actually, 'podcasts' plural but we'll get there) on Spotify called "Boyfriend audios and more!! by a user called Imagine. They admit the content they are posting is not made by them, but that does not matter. Reposting is not okay, even if you credit the creator, unless you have creator's consent. It's still stealing even though they gave credit to the creators, we did not give permission for our work to be put on Spotify. But this person did not ask anyone for permission before doing this. And as it's on Spotify it's likely it is monetized (I'm not sure if it's possible to have un-monetized content on Spotify) meaning this person is possibly making money off reposting our work. Even if they are not making money this is still not okay and it's still stealing our work. There are so many creators who's work has been stolen from larger accounts with hundreds of thousands of subscribers to accounts that have a couple hundred subscribers. The 'podcast' started posting on April 7th 2023 and updated as recently as yesterday (October 24th 2023). Plenty of creators offer downloads of their work on Patreon, or you could get Youtube Premium if you want to listen to them offline, you don't need to go to unauthorised Spotify reposts. And plenty of audio creators upload their work to Spotify themselves anyway! I've seen people's work reposted on Spotify that already uploaded the work to Spotify themselves anyway. The 'podcast' currently has 378 ratings (people who have decided to rate it out of 5 stars) so people know it's there and are listening to it.

I taken one down and four more pop up. And that's far from the first time my drawings have been stolen. But I never expected my audios to get stolen like this. I have notices everywhere that I do not allow reposting, reuploading, or editing of my content. Though someone shouldn't need to have those things written down, it's common sense and basic human decency to not steal and repost other people's creations without their consent, whether you are monetising it or not.

I don't know what steps to take here. I hope Spotify takes this stuff down if enough of us report it. But the only people who can report it are the creators themselves. I don't have many connections or reach within the ASMR/VA community, but I hope other creators see this post, or other's posts about this situation, and are able to report and take down this content off Spotify.

As I'm writing this I decided to open the playlist up on the mobile app for Spotify where there is a 'more like this' tab. And sure enough. This is not the only person doing this. There are multiple 'podcasts' that are just full of stolen content. I'm sure this isn't all of them but these are the ones I have found. I have no idea how to tackle this. None of this is okay. There's more than just the ones in the screenshots here. There's one's that give no credit and just say 'I didn't make any of this' 'credit to creator' without naming the creator, straight up N-SFW content which is against Spotify's rules. And some of them in their about sections are complaining about getting copyright reports against them, thinking it's funny, saying their last podcast got taken down but they're just made this new one. All the content they are reposting is already online for people to listen too, some of it already on Spotify.

There's no excuse for reposting and not crediting someone (unless maybe they're doing it so the creator can't find and report them), and even with credit it's not okay. Message the creator first, ask them if they are okay with reposting. "But what if they say no?" then you don't do it. The same applies to any content whether it's ASMR or whether it's someone's fanart drawing. It hurts, it feels uncomfortable, it's crossing boundaries to take people's content that doesn't belong to you and repost, especially if you are monetizing and making money off it. I don't know how anyone can call themself a fan of a creator, how anyone can be a fan of a creator's work, and then do this. I'm scared to report for copyright. Multiple owners of these 'podcasts' have made it clear when they're reposts can taken down, they just reupload them again, that when their accounts get taken down they just make new ones and go straight back to reposting content. So reporting might not do anything. Even if anything is taken down, it will probably get reuploaded again and I don't want to be checking and reporting every day of my life. So then all I can do is raise awareness, tell people not to listen to these podcasts, make the creators of these podcasts know we are not comfortable with this and maybe that will make some of them stop doing this, maybe even make Spotify aware.

If you really like us or the content we make then be respectful of us and our boundaries.

Sam wakes Listener (Darlin') with kisses, like they for him previously. Sam gives Listener a massage to wake up with, and they talk about Listener getting them kicked out of the club that their HBS video/audio took place in. Sam then asks if Listener would like to know some drama regarding the Summit coming up at the end of next month (the end of October) and Listener is overjoyed to hear the gossip. Sam talks about the Summit, openly giving his thoughts and feelings on the whole thing. He finally informs Listener that William is considering inviting the Shaw Pack (a tables worth) to the Summit this year, for multiple reasons.

The Post Credit Scene

Sam gets a message (he doesn't say who it's from) and then informs Listener that a vampire of the Solaire clan, Porter Solaire is "coming back to town" after being "sent away" by William after Vincent and Porter almost "killed each other"...Sam doesn't give any more details. But as we know from the anniversary stream from this summer, Porter is (likely) a new character to be featured in the Redacted Lore!

Hello, it's been months since I'm back here on tumblr... Treated it as a journal blog Incase I want to get things off my chest or say things I can't say verbally....

I have a new family member which I have posted a photo of on Xitter/X/Twitter which is a dog, a terrier.. he's pretty much a handful when trying to keep him calm or trying to get him to sleep through out the night....

2nd thing is that I got another external hard drive to work on video editing practice for the 2ndary channel up yt/youtube to show my progression as a content creator... I try as much as I can to learn in a editing method that I want to make gameplay videos I'm having fun with on my main channel then branch out to other types of content I want to edit videos about....

I'll be returning to streaming on twitch as some point possibly at night hours to where I feel to the point of going to bed....

I'll be pushing for YouTube monitization and twitch partner both channels mainly while preparing for my vtuber showcase as how some vtubers would call it my vtuber debut.... Which I don't know why they say it, when the root of debut comes from idol culture which the following is [redacted] to an extent.......

Ko-fi is there as additional support as an option..... For personal reasons and mostly looking for a new place to live is why I'll be pushing for monitizations and twitch partnership until I'm able to disclose personal which has been a heavy topic for me to discuss publically where I'm in a less toxic environment... I don't know when or where but I'll hope to look for somewhere that I can distant from the source of it all and update as much as I can about things I want to say...

Over time, Charlie got to know her long-distance girlfriend, Tara, as well as her best friend, Sahar, who was at uni with them. She also had another best friend, an ever-elusive boy named Nick, who he’d yet to meet but was assured did exist.

Or, Nick and Charlie are part of the same friend group in uni but haven't actually met yet.
