Poor Bestie. Their red flag friend/boyfriend isn't coming back... He left that morning like any other day, and they're expecting him home at the usual time. But he won't be there. And they won't know why. Until they either go to CloseKnit and find his body, or see on the Empowered news that a young male, Blake [surname redacted], was found died at the scene during a Stealth recovery mission...

Yay for Sunshine though, finally seeing the end of their ??? week-long imprisonment in the basement. I wonder what they got to eat during their time at CloseKnit... maybe whatever was on the buffet table?

I love how they were still getting on Blake's last nerve.

Sunshine's next audio probably will be Scorpius explaining his version of the plan, and maybe when the Department's Stealth team comes in to rescue them all.

Now, I'm all against murder, especially of a listener character, but I really thought Brachium was gonna be ordered to kill Bestie. Pretty glad he's not. Dude doesn't need that on his conscience.

I have one HUGE question though...

Blake is a Seer.

And most likely not a Seer Obscura. If the possibility of having two in the same point in time is infinitessimal, what's the chances of there being three??

Meaning, that Blake always knew when/how he was gonna die (obviously circumstances can change based on a million different little factors)

So... did he know this was how it was gonna go for him, and he had just been delaying the inevitable?

I kinda feel sorry for him...

He's just gonna be used by the Drove, and they are absolutely not gonna give him what he wants. They will not spare Bestie's life. Why would they?

He has given them what they wanted on a silver platter with no negotiation and no assurances.

Blake has never seen a single tv show about law or hostage situations.

Also, wtf? Why/how did ONE voice reply to him?! Which one? Who is it? I need to know!! 👀

Had he been any other magical race, I would've suspected it to be the corresponding Sovereign, but Seers' powers aren't demonic in nature, so why would there be a Sovereign to "rule over them"?

Also. I'm now on the fence between Blake=Hush and Avior=Hush... both are compelling storyline possibilities.

I can see more clearly how Blake could become Hush, and now we can tell why his brother (Brachium) wants to kill him, but the whole link with their listeners makes Avior's more heartbreaking, imo.

I guess we just gotta wait and see.

I feel so bad for alastor after chapter 2 😭 usually I'd say I'd like to hug him lol but since he would not appreciate it I wanna send him rosie's way instead. both because they're besties and because rosie seems to be the only character canonically shown to know (or suspect) alastor's orientation, so maybe she'd be able to fix this mess...

Rosie is not going to be physically present in this fic, but she is going to be the key to some of the getting-to-the-bottom-of-things in the next chapter, hahaha, so she will be there in spirit!
