As I’m no longer part of the Solaire house, I’ve had a more limited access to blood bags. There was a small portion of time where I didn’t have any. I had to feed on a breathing thing for the first time in a long time (disregarding personal feedings). [Ann Tiope] Thank you, Director. After conferring with Wren, Applied Mythology has a theory. Many extranormal entities subsist wholly or in part on, for lack of a better term, belief. A sort of…stabilizing influence of the noosphere could help Königsratte’s ontology. We just need something to anchor that psychic flow. A physical object related to his origin, and the holiday zeitgeist. That’s where Toyetics comes in. Patty?

[Patty] Thank you for the books, Hugo. So, um. I left my notes on the floor, but basically - nutcrackers.

[Patty] We think of them as kitschy decorations now, but when The Nutcracker and the Mouse King was originally written, they were toys. Objects of joy and affection! A lot of them were modeled as soldiers, like in the story. Or kings. They meant something. They’re inextricably tied to the Rat King’s origin, and an integral part of many cultures’ celebrations this time of year, even if a lot of people overlook them.

[Dir. Walker] What is your proposal?

[Patty] We can use the social media outreach of the Office to ask for nutcrackers. Physical donations, but even pictures or artwork will work. It just has to have a story attached. The story is important. I’ve already asked social media’s AI to help me intake and collate everything we get. Additional Characters:

For lined drawings each additional character is the base price minus %30. For render style 1, each additional character is the base price minus 15%. Additional characters in render style 2 are however the same as the base price, digital paintings take a long time.

About Sales

I have two ongoing sales currently available, Sonic art and Final Fantasy VII art. All sales apply to the full price of the piece, so if you have extra detail or background charges, the sale will apply to the full price PLUS these charges. And of course, if you'd rather I draw a character that you or a friend created, so long as they are designed to be from either Sonic or FFVII, they are included in these two sales. For proof of donation to the PCRF I only need to see your email confirmation showing the amount you donated, feel free to redact your name if you want. About Backgrounds

I am absolutely happy to do backgrounds, for a price! The price of backgrounds is highly dependent on what you want so I can’t really put estimates here. If you would like a gradient background, those are completely free! Just ask!

A Community Project to Celebrate a Year of r/OnlyFangsBG3

Hello to our lovely community of darlings, blood bags, and precious little Bhaal babes! As you may remember from last week, your hardworking mod team is in the process of putting together a little project to celebrate our one-year anniversary. We wanted to give ourselves a tiny head start (and, yes, maybe drum up some curiosity!) but we are now ready to announce that…

# We Are Assembling an Astarion Coloring Book!

The community we’ve assembled here is so incredibly talented in such an amazing variety of ways, and we thought this could be a fun way for our creative folks to get to come together and share that talent. ~~And. I mean, yes, *some* of us are slightly sad that we don’t have artistic skill but still want to make pretty pictures of the pretty vampire, *okay??*~~

We are currently looking for visual artists to help us by donating their original line art featuring Astarion, which other members of the sub can then color in whatever media they choose and share with all of us! **If you are willing, please send us your submission no later than September 23, 2024.**

While we are soliciting this art, we will be promoting a selection of charities that Neil publicly supports (more on those in a minute). No money will be going through us at any time, we will only be encouraging you all to donate to the charities directly. If you wish, you can then send us (redacted!!) receipts so that we can get a tally of how much the sub has raised and celebrate our community with some altruism. We won’t be requiring anyone to donate in order to get access to the coloring book, just encouraging donations to those causes on his behalf. At the end of the event, our sub’s birthday (September 30), we will share how much we raised and release a link to the compiled coloring book.

Anyway. That’s what we’re looking to accomplish!

Hi, @vampire-bite! How have you been? It's delightful to hear from you! Thank you for these asks about blast-from-the-past fic Healing a Healer, a prequel that sees William confront Sam shortly after his turning as he struggles to acclimate to vampiric life.

12: Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in? 

The whole fic is one scene, so I think the trick was trying to fit in everything! After writing this fic, I created a related headcanon that William founded the Red Moon Association, a blood-donation charity that serves vampires in communities without easy access to blood. True to his healer form, Sam gets involved quite heavily with the charity. If I had developed that headcanon earlier, I probably would've referenced the RMA somewhere in this fic.

20: What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?

I really wanted to make sure that the fic captured Sam's prolonged despair as well as William's kingly, regal power. William is such a cool character because he is so kind, but you just know there's a ferocity within him that could make any vampire cower. (Also, that the fic exists! I can't tell you how happy I am to see you give this older fic some love. <3)

24: Did you write every scene in order? What was the first scene you wrote, and what was the last? 

I did write the fic in order! I typically write linearly, whether it's a one-scene oneshot like this one or a lengthy multi-chapter fic. Makes more sense in my head that way, I think. Once I've got the full fic drafted, I do go back and revise to make sure everything ties together.

About Senior Year -

The first time I passed out, I was volunteering at a blood drive in HS. I don’t think blood necessarily bothers me, it’s the reaction people have to loosing it that gets me. I went to an extremely small school so I can tell you first and last names as well as anecdotes back to Kindergarten of the people involved. I distinctly remember being annoyed with [name redacted 1] for being ‘overdramatic’ as she had a panic attack in the midst of donating blood as I felt the beginning of my own attack. I didn’t know what was happening but I decided should sit down, and I almost made it… but ended up collapsing headfirst into [name redacted 2]’s crotch… I really owe them both an apology.) I’ve passed out since then and sustained a sprained ankle and a concussion (two different incidents) so [name redacted 2]’s crotch was actually best case scenario.

Anyways that was my inspiration there…

In terms of continuing in that AU…

We can hear the band playing at the football field on Friday nights and I don’t know what it is that makes it so nostalgic, but I’ve been thinking about HS Football.

Fridays at school the football players would hand out their spare jerseys for the day - this is almost comically stereotypical high school. Full of drama and angst - Like the popular guys without gfs had waiting lists on their jerseys. Or like sometimes a group would decide to wear them and they’d have friends who would commandeer one and who’s they were able to secure was imperative - imagine a fic where Delly or Madge scheme to get Katniss to (unknowingly) wear Peeta’s number.

The games were such sensory experiences. The cold, the dark and the lights, the noise, the shitty food - it sort of sounds awful when I write it out, but my brain is dead set on romanticizing it.

We’d rarely sit and watch. It was all about walking the track with your friends, bumped into other groups of friends, checking out the kids from other schools, or scooping out your crush (hoping they were even there) - imagine the mutual pining and lingering looks between Katniss and Peeta.

I don’t have any concrete ideas just a lot of misplaced nostalgia hahaha.

Possible Corruption in Cheongpyeong

In 2018 a criminal complaint was filed concerning possible corruption at the Magnolia Corporation at Cheongpyeong.

.1. Overview of the case According to the lawsuit, in March 2017 a private company named Magnolia Corporation was founded with a capital of 50 million won (USD$37,000). When Magnolia was established in July 2017, Tongil Foundation lent 5 billion won to Magnolia (USD$3.7 million). In November 2017 an additional 2.3 billion won (USD$1.7 million) was provided as a loan. It is also strange that Tongil Foundation acquired all the shares of the Magnolia Corporation in December. In February 2018 Magnolia Corporation made a capital increase by issuing new stocks, and Tongil Foundation and Cheongshim Church paid 2.5 billion won (USD$1.8 million) for this capital increase.

.2. The Facts of the case According to an investigation, the facts were slightly different. At that time, the Foundation spent 11 billion won (USD$820,000) to build the building, allowing the Magnolia Corporation to use it. What’s funny is that there was no down payment and no monthly rent was paid – it was used for free. There could be embezzlement. In addition, 7.3 billion won (USD$5.48 million) was handed over for the first time for the renovation of the interior of the Magnolia Corporation, and 8 billion won (USD$6 million) as capital increase for the second time. 15.3 billion won was used for interior renovation and to buy furniture. Magnolia Corporation opened a hair salon, cafés, seolleongtang (Korean bone stock soup and brick oven pizzeria, and eventually all went bankrupt and Tongil Foundation moved in.

Magnolia claims that most of the borrowed money was used for the interior renovation and to purchase goods. Interestingly, the company that did the interior renovation of Magnolia at the time was the company of a brother of a church leader. How should one understand contracting a multi-billion won interior renovation project to someone who has no interior renovation experience? In addition, it was said that the person who supplied the furniture of these stores was the spiritual child of a senior executive. This rumor was convincing. At that time, there were many complaints that the purchased furniture was too expensive. At the same time, 150 employees were working at the Seolleongtang (Korean bone stock soup) store. What Seolleongtang store has 150 employees (according to data submitted by Magnolia to the Korean Prosecution Services)? Many miracles happen at Cheongpyeong! It was claimed that the money borrowed from the Foundation was used to pay for their salaries and interior decorations. Should this be believed?

.3. Conclusion of the case The case was eventually dismissed due to insufficient evidence. In Cheongpyeong, a leading law firm in Korea was appointed for a large sum, but in fact, the biggest reason for the acquittal was that the lawyer made a mistake in specifying the victims of the malfeasance and embezzlement. Members were not the victims of the financial crime, but the Foundation was the victim …

.4. Observation Cheongpyeong was always like this. Eating up blood money [hard-earned donations] from members under the excuse of running various businesses. Why did the Foundation invest a lot of money in the Magnolia Corporation? Members would have noticed. Perhaps it was an order from above. 

At that time, it was known that the money invested in Magnolia did not proceed normally.  The vice chairman of the foundation opposed the investment in Magnolia and raised the possibility of corruption happening in Magnolia.

It is sad to see the opening of any store in Cheongpyeong costing billions or tens of billions of won: Aqua Café, Cheongpyeong Marina, Flower Garden, mystery Zoo… No one expects any profits. It is questionable whether they will be able to recover the investments. There are allegations of corruption.

If invited, an external audit could clear up any allegations of corruption.

Summary: Luz figured out a way to recreate something an echo mouse eats and get Philip’s diary back to its original form. Unfortunately, the spell worked a little too well and any revisions or scribblings out are removed, showing the journal in its original version before it was changed to be donated to the library.

Luz’s hands were trembling as she held the freshly remade journal in her hand.

It wasn’t supposed to be anything bad. Eda remembered a potion that would get an echo mouse to essentially regurgitate a book it ate back to its original form. So, Luz helped her make it and she was able to use it to get Philip’s diary back. Luz reasoned that even though she knew how awful Belos was, there could still be useful information in there from the decades he spent writing in it.

But she didn’t know that what the echo mouse showed her after eating it wasn’t actually the original form.

Philip made revisions, scribbled things out, ripped out almost entire pages.

But all of that was undone.

Luz’s eyes were just stuck to the pages. She wasn’t able to cry or scream, she could barely even breathe. All she was able to do was read through the awful things Philip had redacted, flipping through the pages as she felt like she was unable to stop reading.

She had to know everything.

Caleb thought he could hide them from me, but I finally figured out all three pictoglyphs. There could be a way to combine them that would allow me to finally overpower that insufferable seductress that has tricked him. Perhaps carving them into my flesh would assist. I should be able to find an ignorant enough witch to test this theory on.

I considered a truly awful possibility, that one day I will have to change my appearance to better fit in with these witches. My face is already known in too many places and my rounded ears will forever be a hindrance. Mayhaps one day I might have to do something unthinkable to get on an equal level to these wretched creatures. When I find the Collector they can teach me how to do magic on my own and how to use that to exterminate these lesser beings. Even how to live long enough to see my plans through.

That treacherous Luzura and her aunt Dirtrude. No better than the rest of the witches despite my initial assumptions otherwise. But, strangely, Luzura never used any magic besides pictoglyphs. In fact, most of how she acted was quite strange. She found the pictoglyphs just like Caleb, she fought like I did, and yet…she spoke and dressed in a strange way. Not like any other witch I had met before. I will have to keep her in mind.

Perhaps this “Luzura” could come in handy one day.

Nothing she read should have changed anything. And yet, she suddenly had context she never wanted or needed. She didn’t even know if she could keep it a secret, and yet who could say how people, people she loved, would react.

Especially when it related to them.

That impudent wench. She’ll pay for seducing my brother. For charming him into teaching her how to carve, using him to carve more of those pointless palismen. Evelyn, no, the whole of the Clawthorne family will pay. I don’t care how many generations it will take, but I shall have my revenge. If I were an optimist I would be curious to see if perhaps humans and witches will breed even stronger witches, or weak inbreds. Even more reason to keep a close eye on the family, I suppose.

These weepy palismen souls are fighting back more than anticipated. They weaken me. It’s becoming harder for me to go out in search of them. I need assistance. But all hope is not lost. I still have Caleb’s blood on the knife. And I know where he’s buried. I can attempt to use that one grimwalker spell I found. Yes, a copy of Caleb. One I can mold to live with the sole purpose of doing my bidding. One to follow my teachings even if I die.

The “Bat Queen” as she calls herself is a vain, self-centered, yet pitiful creature. The palisman for a grand staff, so old she can’t even remember her owner. But even if she can threaten me and claw at me, I know I hold power over her. I am the reason she has to be a sanctuary. I kill the owners of those palismen and, if they escape, they run to her. I convince tackless witches to abandon their palismen themselves. And I have even found research on her and her possible past. Titans were supposedly able to change their size depending on emotion after all. Why, scholars believe that the reason that the Isles are so big is because the Titan died in pain or anger, that if he had been at peace he would have been smaller. Pity, as she has cast me out of her area of the woods she will never hear any of this. Not that I would tell her regardless. I am curious, however, in an old text citing her as arriving from somewhere off the island, but acting differently, like a blank slate at her return.

Luz had no idea that Philip had changed so much in his diary before giving the library the version that she had found. So much he had removed and scribbled out. Like he was paranoid of someone he didn’t want to read it someday reading it.

After what felt like a tortuously long time, she finally reached the last page, a page which had been halfway torn out even before the echo mouse ate the diary.

It’s time. I’ve gone too far now. That witch saw what I had created, or I suppose recreated. Her abomination of a child was there too. The look on its face when it saw him almost made me feel…pity for it. But that was the final straw. I can’t run away anymore. I don’t have anywhere left I can run. I must reinvent myself. The first attempt at remaking him had to be purged, but the second will be better. Less weak willed than the first one turned out to be. This will be my final entry, and this diary will be donated to the primary library of this world. After some adjustments, of course. My plan I made so long ago must happen. I will need to change myself. Only when these monsters believe I am one of them can I cleanse them all from their existence. I can only wonder who will read this, if anyone does at all. Perhaps they could hate me, but for all I know they could be just like me. But I suppose that’s up to the powers above to decide. Those below will soon be too busy dealing with all of these damned souls to do anything, after all.

Luz shut the diary. It seemed to slip out of her hands and fall to the floor, hitting the ground like a brick, not bouncing or opening, just slamming onto the wood floors. After taking a few struggling breaths, Luz took a few steps away from the diary as it sat on the ground. She couldn’t stop staring at it.

Not after everything she had just learned.

Luz finally was able to pull her gaze off of the diary as she turned around so she wouldn’t have to look at it anymore. She tried to take a few steps forward, almost stumbling as she did, before just holding herself up against a wall in front of her. Tears were welled up in her eyes but refused to fall. Even as she tried to center herself, she couldn’t seem to steady her breaths.

All she could do was use the wall in front of herself to not collapse and thank the Titan that her roommates were out. The dorms at the university were already full of gossip, she didn’t need to deal with that.

There was also a sense of guilt she couldn’t explain or get rid of.

“I thought I was ready.” Luz said quietly, voice sounding almost strangled, “I thought I was ready to think about him again. But I still can’t face what he’s done, even after he’s been dead for four years.”

Even with her being as far away from it as she could be without leaving the room, Luz could almost sense the diary behind her. The tears finally fell down her face and her knees buckled, but Luz still refused to fall to the ground.

She wouldn’t break. She couldn’t let him break her. Not again.

“I really thought I was ready.”
