Tldr; i need help affording end of life care for one of my dogs. you can help by sharing this post and donating what you’re able to (more info below image). thank you <3

one of my dogs has been sick recently and when we took him to the vet we found out that it’s a lot worse than we realized. within the last month he’s accumulated fluid in his abdomen and chest from a mass in his liver. we tested his stool + urine, did blood work + x rays, and scheduled an ultrasound to see if there’s any chance of it being operable. they drained over 350ml of fluid from his abdomen and put him on a diuretic + pain meds to help keep him comfortable. we won’t know for certain until after he has an ultrasound but the prognosis isn’t very good either way. it’s very likely that he’ll continue to fill up with fluid until he goes in to organ failure from the masses and we were told he only has a few months left.

I’m trying to be strong for him and give him the best chance that we can but it will require some serious intervention and management. We’re adjusting his diet and adding some supplements along with his meds and praying that it buys him more time. Even if they are able to operate there’s still a good chance that it could grow back…

But I’m holding out hope for his recovery and asking for all of the help that i can get. We have a shih tzhu that’s older than him and we were able to get her heart condition stabilized so much that she went from being a candidate for euthanasia to having a normal sized heart (it was so enlarged when we got her that it was pushing her trachea out of place), no murmur, and is very well managed with meds. I’ve depended on Vin for so much and for so long that he will always be a part of my life.

I’m just asking for any help that we can get. We’re in the process of filing for bankruptcy so we don’t have any credit cards to fall back on. We’re supported by my husbands single income as I struggle to find a part time job that can accommodate my disability. We were able to get a discount on our last visit because we receive food assistance but it still came to just under $400 ($381 to be exact). It’s a good deal for the amount of services that we received but it’s money that we were setting aside for rent.

Our next visit is going to cost a little bit more than our last as the ultrasound is from a team that travels to the clinic. We were quoted around $412 for the next visit but it may be more if he needs fluid drained again… not counting prescription food, meds, or supplements, we’re already down over $800+ and that’s just for diagnostics and early stages of treatment.

It’s an embarrassing position to be in but the reality is that I’m struggling to keep up as it is. I really appreciate anyone who shares this post and/or donates to help us cover the costs of his medical expenses. I’ll make sure to update if I’m able to find a job, especially if I can get in at a clinic for discounted treatment (I have a history of vet assisting)

Additional Characters:

For lined drawings each additional character is the base price minus %30. For render style 1, each additional character is the base price minus 15%. Additional characters in render style 2 are however the same as the base price, digital paintings take a long time.

About Sales

I have two ongoing sales currently available, Sonic art and Final Fantasy VII art. All sales apply to the full price of the piece, so if you have extra detail or background charges, the sale will apply to the full price PLUS these charges. And of course, if you'd rather I draw a character that you or a friend created, so long as they are designed to be from either Sonic or FFVII, they are included in these two sales. For proof of donation to the PCRF I only need to see your email confirmation showing the amount you donated, feel free to redact your name if you want. About Backgrounds

I am absolutely happy to do backgrounds, for a price! The price of backgrounds is highly dependent on what you want so I can’t really put estimates here. Please know this can vastly extend the time I would require to finish the piece which may affect refunds. By default, all of my drawings will be transparent PNGs with a solid color BG variant. If you would like a gradient background, those are completely free! Just ask!

Art takes time, for me as a disabled artist, it's a bit more time than many other artists I know. A Community Project to Celebrate a Year of r/OnlyFangsBG3

Hello to our lovely community of darlings, blood bags, and precious little Bhaal babes! As you may remember from last week, your hardworking mod team is in the process of putting together a little project to celebrate our one-year anniversary. We wanted to give ourselves a tiny head start (and, yes, maybe drum up some curiosity!) but we are now ready to announce that…

# We Are Assembling an Astarion Coloring Book!

The community we’ve assembled here is so incredibly talented in such an amazing variety of ways, and we thought this could be a fun way for our creative folks to get to come together and share that talent. ~~And. I mean, yes, *some* of us are slightly sad that we don’t have artistic skill but still want to make pretty pictures of the pretty vampire, *okay??*~~

We are currently looking for visual artists to help us by donating their original line art featuring Astarion, which other members of the sub can then color in whatever media they choose and share with all of us! **If you are willing, please send us your submission no later than September 23, 2024.**

While we are soliciting this art, we will be promoting a selection of charities that Neil publicly supports (more on those in a minute). No money will be going through us at any time, we will only be encouraging you all to donate to the charities directly. If you wish, you can then send us (redacted!!) receipts so that we can get a tally of how much the sub has raised and celebrate our community with some altruism. We won’t be requiring anyone to donate in order to get access to the coloring book, just encouraging donations to those causes on his behalf. At the end of the event, our sub’s birthday (September 30), we will share how much we raised and release a link to the compiled coloring book.

Anyway. That’s what we’re looking to accomplish!

12: Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in? 

The whole fic is one scene, so I think the trick was trying to fit in everything! After writing this fic, I created a related headcanon that William founded the Red Moon Association, a blood-donation charity that serves vampires in communities without easy access to blood. True to his healer form, Sam gets involved quite heavily with the charity. If I had developed that headcanon earlier, I probably would've referenced the RMA somewhere in this fic.

20: What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?

I really wanted to make sure that the fic captured Sam's prolonged despair as well as William's kingly, regal power. William is such a cool character because he is so kind, but you just know there's a ferocity within him that could make any vampire cower. (Also, that the fic exists! I can't tell you how happy I am to see you give this older fic some love. <3)

24: Did you write every scene in order? What was the first scene you wrote, and what was the last? 

I did write the fic in order! I typically write linearly, whether it's a one-scene oneshot like this one or a lengthy multi-chapter fic. Makes more sense in my head that way, I think. Once I've got the full fic drafted, I do go back and revise to make sure everything ties together.

About Senior Year -

The first time I passed out, I was volunteering at a blood drive in HS. I don’t think blood necessarily bothers me, it’s the reaction people have to loosing it that gets me. I went to an extremely small school so I can tell you first and last names as well as anecdotes back to Kindergarten of the people involved. I distinctly remember being annoyed with [name redacted 1] for being ‘overdramatic’ as she had a panic attack in the midst of donating blood as I felt the beginning of my own attack. I didn’t know what was happening but I decided should sit down, and I almost made it… but ended up collapsing headfirst into [name redacted 2]’s crotch… I really owe them both an apology.) I’ve passed out since then and sustained a sprained ankle and a concussion (two different incidents) so [name redacted 2]’s crotch was actually best case scenario.

Anyways that was my inspiration there…

In terms of continuing in that AU…

We can hear the band playing at the football field on Friday nights and I don’t know what it is that makes it so nostalgic, but I’ve been thinking about HS Football.

Fridays at school the football players would hand out their spare jerseys for the day - this is almost comically stereotypical high school. Full of drama and angst - Like the popular guys without gfs had waiting lists on their jerseys. Or like sometimes a group would decide to wear them and they’d have friends who would commandeer one and who’s they were able to secure was imperative - imagine a fic where Delly or Madge scheme to get Katniss to (unknowingly) wear Peeta’s number.

The games were such sensory experiences. The cold, the dark and the lights, the noise, the shitty food - it sort of sounds awful when I write it out, but my brain is dead set on romanticizing it.

We’d rarely sit and watch. It was all about walking the track with your friends, bumped into other groups of friends, checking out the kids from other schools, or scooping out your crush (hoping they were even there) - imagine the mutual pining and lingering looks between Katniss and Peeta.

I don’t have any concrete ideas just a lot of misplaced nostalgia hahaha.

Whumptober 2023 Day 3-Journal

Summary: Luz figured out a way to recreate something an echo mouse eats and get Philip’s diary back to its original form. Unfortunately, the spell worked a little too well and any revisions or scribblings out are removed, showing the journal in its original version before it was changed to be donated to the library.

Luz’s hands were trembling as she held the freshly remade journal in her hand.

It wasn’t supposed to be anything bad. Eda remembered a potion that would get an echo mouse to essentially regurgitate a book it ate back to its original form. So, Luz helped her make it and she was able to use it to get Philip’s diary back. Luz reasoned that even though she knew how awful Belos was, there could still be useful information in there from the decades he spent writing in it.

But she didn’t know that what the echo mouse showed her after eating it wasn’t actually the original form.

Philip made revisions, scribbled things out, ripped out almost entire pages.

But all of that was undone.

Luz’s eyes were just stuck to the pages. She wasn’t able to cry or scream, she could barely even breathe. All she was able to do was read through the awful things Philip had redacted, flipping through the pages as she felt like she was unable to stop reading.

She had to know everything.

Caleb thought he could hide them from me, but I finally figured out all three pictoglyphs. There could be a way to combine them that would allow me to finally overpower that insufferable seductress that has tricked him. Perhaps carving them into my flesh would assist. I should be able to find an ignorant enough witch to test this theory on.

Every...

I considered a truly awful possibility, that one day I will have to change my appearance to better fit in with these witches. My face is already known in too many places and my rounded ears will forever be a hindrance. Mayhaps one day I might have to do something unthinkable to get on an equal level to these wretched creatures. When I find the Collector they can teach me how to do magic on my own and how to use that to exterminate these lesser beings. Even how to live long enough to see my plans through.

Awful…

That treacherous Luzura and her aunt Dirtrude. No better than the rest of the witches despite my initial assumptions otherwise. But, strangely, Luzura never used any magic besides pictoglyphs. In fact, most of how she acted was quite strange. She found the pictoglyphs just like Caleb, she fought like I did, and yet…she spoke and dressed in a strange way. Not like any other witch I had met before. I will have to keep her in mind.

Thing…

Perhaps this “Luzura” could come in handy one day.

Nothing she read should have changed anything. And yet, she suddenly had context she never wanted or needed. She didn’t even know if she could keep it a secret, and yet who could say how people, people she loved, would react.

Especially when it related to them.

Eda and Lilith.

That impudent wench. She’ll pay for seducing my brother. For charming him into teaching her how to carve, using him to carve more of those pointless palismen. Evelyn, no, the whole of the Clawthorne family will pay. I don’t care how many generations it will take, but I shall have my revenge. If I were an optimist I would be curious to see if perhaps humans and witches will breed even stronger witches, or weak inbreds. Even more reason to keep a close eye on the family, I suppose.

These weepy palismen souls are fighting back more than anticipated. They weaken me. It’s becoming harder for me to go out in search of them. I need assistance. But all hope is not lost. I still have Caleb’s blood on the knife. And I know where he’s buried. I can attempt to use that one grimwalker spell I found. Yes, a copy of Caleb. One I can mold to live with the sole purpose of doing my bidding. One to follow my teachings even if I die.

Even those she never imagined would be affected by Belos.

The “Bat Queen” as she calls herself is a vain, self-centered, yet pitiful creature. The palisman for a grand staff, so old she can’t even remember her owner. But even if she can threaten me and claw at me, I know I hold power over her. I am the reason she has to be a sanctuary. I kill the owners of those palismen and, if they escape, they run to her. I convince tackless witches to abandon their palismen themselves. And I have even found research on her and her possible past. Titans were supposedly able to change their size depending on emotion after all. Why, scholars believe that the reason that the Isles are so big is because the Titan died in pain or anger, that if he had been at peace he would have been smaller. Pity, as she has cast me out of her area of the woods she will never hear any of this. Not that I would tell her regardless. I am curious, however, in an old text citing her as arriving from somewhere off the island, but acting differently, like a blank slate at her return.

Luz had no idea that Philip had changed so much in his diary before giving the library the version that she had found. So much he had removed and scribbled out. Like he was paranoid of someone he didn’t want to read it someday reading it.

After what felt like a tortuously long time, she finally reached the last page, a page which had been halfway torn out even before the echo mouse ate the diary.

It’s time. I’ve gone too far now. That witch saw what I had created, or I suppose recreated. Her abomination of a child was there too. The look on its face when it saw him almost made me feel…pity for it. But that was the final straw. I can’t run away anymore. I don’t have anywhere left I can run. I must reinvent myself. The first attempt at remaking him had to be purged, but the second will be better. Less weak willed than the first one turned out to be. This will be my final entry, and this diary will be donated to the primary library of this world. After some adjustments, of course. My plan I made so long ago must happen. I will need to change myself. Only when these monsters believe I am one of them can I cleanse them all from their existence. I can only wonder who will read this, if anyone does at all. Perhaps they could hate me, but for all I know they could be just like me. But I suppose that’s up to the powers above to decide. Those below will soon be too busy dealing with all of these damned souls to do anything, after all.

Luz shut the diary. It seemed to slip out of her hands and fall to the floor, hitting the ground like a brick, not bouncing or opening, just slamming onto the wood floors. After taking a few struggling breaths, Luz took a few steps away from the diary as it sat on the ground. She couldn’t stop staring at it.

Not after everything she had just learned.

Luz finally was able to pull her gaze off of the diary as she turned around so she wouldn’t have to look at it anymore. She tried to take a few steps forward, almost stumbling as she did, before just holding herself up against a wall in front of her. Tears were welled up in her eyes but refused to fall. Even as she tried to center herself, she couldn’t seem to steady her breaths.

All she could do was use the wall in front of herself to not collapse and thank the Titan that her roommates were out. The dorms at the university were already full of gossip, she didn’t need to deal with that.

There was also a sense of guilt she couldn’t explain or get rid of.

“I thought I was ready.” Luz said quietly, voice sounding almost strangled, “I thought I was ready to think about him again. But I still can’t face what he’s done, even after he’s been dead for four years.”

Even with her being as far away from it as she could be without leaving the room, Luz could almost sense the diary behind her. The tears finally fell down her face and her knees buckled, but Luz still refused to fall to the ground.

She wouldn’t break. She couldn’t let him break her. Not again.

“I really thought I was ready.”

Backstory/Background:

Isaiah’s birth and first few years of life have been lost to the annals of time, or so it could be assumed. One day he had just seemed to appear at a strange boarding school. Or so this would be what was said of his arrival at the school. Isaiah would be brought up in this school, alongside its students. He would soon enough discover that he had an odd quirk with him. That was, he would be forced to change his shape on a bi-weekly basis. This would bother him so much that for the week he was forced to be in a different form, he would hide away from the rest of the world. Along with this reason, he would be experimented on at the school, because he had a ‘particularly rare’ ancient bloodline coursing through his veins. What he would learn was an “Allblood”. 

This bloodline had been traced back nearly to the beginning of humankind's original existence. As well as many other supernatural beings. Along with this fact, it seemed that, out of all the bloodlines that did exist, this seemed to be a part of them all, and could so, those with enough of it in them, could be spliced into other beings. Many times over, even. The scientist experimenting on him would also very quickly discover that the child had ‘cursed’ blood, which was also often linked to his rare and ancient bloodlines, itself. As the child grows he goes out and explores his surroundings more. Discovering rather quickly that the people in the town he lives in are not actually very good people, and tend to commit, or ignore rampant murdering or other types of violence.

Due to living at the boarding school Isaiah had felt an attachment and loyalty to those that attended the school. He would see the authoritative people in the school more like parental figures. As well, he would see the students as if they were his siblings. This would be his life for the most part, in his little town, in his boarding school. Mostly going without exposure to the world outside of it. Soon enough he would also come to discover that his school was being funded by the very same people who were running Area 51. Of course, as a boy, he could not have known the significance of Area 51. So this fact did not dawn on him until much later in his life. Though when he is six years old this has more meaning in his life.

At six everyone at the school would be put in a different kind of experimental trial. This would be splicing their DNA with other creatures. Isaiah is selected as one of the subjects submitted to this experiment due to his having the special bloodline. After this he is set to be spliced with Cat DNA. The change was a painful one. But he does manage to survive and get through it. As well he is able to heal through some vampire blood, donated to their efforts. As there is a large population of vampires, Isaiah knows many himself. Many who do care about him. However one day while he is out training he comes across someone. Before he can do anything about it he becomes tired and soon falls into a deep sleep, unable to stop the other.

When he next wakes up he finds that the school has been destroyed and he has seemed to have been spared death by being taken far enough away from it that he would not also die. As he tries to find out what has happened he comes across the destroyed remains of the school and the body’s of his former ‘siblings’ and ‘parents’. At least, many of them anyway. This is where he stays for some years. Though as he explores the remains of the now destroyed boarding school. While doing so he comes across his own file in a cabinet. One that stays is that he was kidnapped from a famous family of hunters and brought to the school, when he was two years old. After finding this out and that his family, not long after his kidnapping in fact, had been massacred, he was filled with disgust toward the school. 

Confused about his life and what he needed to do now, he felt immediately like escaping the school’s grounds. No longer wanting to live in its burnt out destroyed skeleton. After he leaves the school he travels to New York, where he comes to set down roots for a time being. Not long after moving to New York he learns about the high profile gang life going on in the city. Which has become something of infamy. Isaiah doesn’t join these gangs. Though he has seen and interacted with members from each. As it is hard not to do so. Sometimes the gangs have competitions and such interactions, and at times even fight each other. Underground, it is very much the same, only there are less humans and more supernatural wars going on. Isaiah still tries his best not to get involved with these things.

Eventually it gets to be so inconvenient living in the city. Due to all the gangs and warring going on, Isaiah decides he wants to go live a more reclusive life. Doing so allowed his own abilities to continue to manifest even more so. At only 21 years of age he has made a life for himself in a forest somewhere away from the city. Though as he is journeying through the forest to find a place to settle he comes across a barrier. It was hidden from human eyes and other such ways to enter or see/hear it, for many years. But because of his ancient bloodline and the splice of his DNA Isaiah has found a way inside, easily, actually. Being new people living within the barrier are apprehensive when seeing him. Then he is informed why this is so. It was because those inside of it were hidden from the human world. Within the barrier Isaiah discovered that many territories have grown over the years. Along with the many species that were once forced to be sealed away. Isaiah eventually comes to find this barrier a place to call home.
