treasure who went as a vampire for halloween, so excited to show porter their outfit and their makeup

porter who froze up as soon as he saw them, heart stuttering in his chest as he took in that bite mark on their neck that looked almost too real, those fake fangs that reminded him of his own, the grey contacts in their eyes that stifled their own beautiful eye colour and he had to fight to remember what they looked like normally

porter who thought his treasure looked so perfect and gorgeous, who wrapped his arms around them and listened to the beating of their heart as though to remind himself that they were still alive

porter who never wants to see them like that again.

I fixate on one-liners too much, but can you really blame me when they hit like this?

The feelings that run through me whenever even the slightest pinch of a character’s canonical appearance is mentioned—

If y’all notice that bit of iridescence in his eyes, that’s color(s) associated with Freelancers in my canon ✨

Then I had a thought that since his eyes were brown, a natural hue, and my version on empowereds eye colors depend on their abilities unless you’re humanborn in which you have a bit of both (almost like heterochromia) 👀

Ergo making my version of Sam a humanborn Freelancer which I think really adds more to the struggles he’s been through and, if I really wanna get deep with it, even relating to Lovely in a way which would make having his hand in helping with the process of their turning a lot more meaningful because he can relate to the loss of an incredible ability you 1. didn’t know you had and 2. spent so long trying to manage it only to have it taken from you just like that. He sees a little of himself in them—and y’know Sam Collins is the kind of man that wants to give others the chance to have what he couldn’t.

(25/31) confession time. when he opened with those lines i entirely thought this was another yandere. also i tried So Hard to hate him (re: him fighting my husband 😔) but he grew on me + their banter is very entertaining. #LetPorterSayTwat2024.

imagine growing up, always feeling out of place, having this hole in your chest that you can’t fill so you do whatever to distract yourself from it. some of these distractions are impulsive, some are just plain stupid, but they always end up getting you in a lot of trouble with friends and family. you can’t voice your frustration with words, so you turn to violence because it’s a universal language. you speak with your fists and never your tongue and soon you find yourself surrounded by evil people because that's what you think you deserve. your friends call you tank. indestructible, a war machine, and you can’t blame them for seeing you this way because that’s the only way you know how to act. it’s all you’ve known. 

then he comes along, and while covered in blood with an anger in your eyes so palpable he could taste, he looks at you and calls you darlin’. it was sarcastic at first, but the way it made your heart feel was so foreign you thought it must be from the blood loss. the more you see him, and the more he sees you, to your surprise, he keeps calling you that, darlin’. all traces of sarcasm gone, it becomes sincere. you became his darlin’, and before you knew it, he became your mate.
