WHEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HOW JANE CHOSE LIFE THAT HE LITERALLY DID!! WHEN HE KILLED RED JOHN, HE STARTED TO TURN THE GUN TOWARDS HIMSELF AND THEN STOPPED. HE CHOSE TO LIVE IN THAT VERY MOMENT!! HE CHOSE TO WALK AWAY AND CALL LISBON AND TELL HER IT'S DONE. BC AS MUCH AS JANE WANTED TO BE THE ONE TO KILL RED JOHN IT SEEMED PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT RED JOHN WANTED TO BE THE ONE TO KILL JANE AND HIM NOT DYING IS JUST BEATING RED JOHN EVEN MORE! I FEEL LIKE NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT AND MAYBE I'M CRAZY BUT HE CHOSE TO LIVE JUST LIKE LISBON SAID HE WOULD IN THAT VERY MOMENT!!! idk I feel like it's a really important moment, at least to me.

"I had been chasing that man for eight years." That's interesting. My Jack Hellion post started a bit of a commentary on the show's inconsistency with time — which is true. But one thing they kept track of very well was the timeline of Jane's family's murder, which means I can say with absolute certainty that, when RJ was caught, it had been about ten years and a half of chasing.

Interesting that they lost track of that now.

The more I think about The Mentalist the more I realize that Red John really resembles a possessive lover/stalker with Jane.

I mean yeah he did kill Jane’s wife and child but like he targeted his psychiatrist, he targeted Lisbon (even though she ended up living), he targeted Kristina Frye (I mean yeah she also taunted Red John but she went on a date with Jane!) like yeah no wonder Jane tried to distance himself from others!

I keep coming back to when he straight up saved Jane (and also to kill ‘inferior copies of his work’) and how Bret Stiles is like “yeah he’s jealous of anyone who is with you.” and Red John wants a friendship with Jane!

Also in Season 2 when he got Rebecca to kill Bosco and his team so that he could have Jane on the case because he ‘misses him [Jane]’ LIKE???? Obsessive much?

I swear it’s a mutual obsession and they made it everybody’s problem (moreso Jane since he really was out here ruining his relationships and doing anything to find Red John)

Anyways their dynamic is so interesting to me, especially with how Red John is with Jane (even with Jane’s pure hatred for him)

Lol! This is the first time I am experiencing this.

Ok! So, I was looking for Patrick Jane X OC and I came across a story on Tumblr, which directed me to AO3.

I was happy to find the story and excited to read it. I read the one-shot and commented on the story.

In the story, Patrick confesses to OC and she just doesn't respond and goes back to sleep (it is implied that they will talk about it later). So, I commented "Wait! Did she just ignore his confession?" and the author responded "Are you worried about Patrick's feelings?" and I was like "Yes! definitely, if it were me I would have been offended." In response to this Author says "I see Patrick as a patient and perceptive character..." AND PROCEEDS TO BLOCK ME.

The author blocked me on their multiple work and removed my comments on their Tumblr post.

I am still processing what exactly happened. Did I trigger them? What was the triggering point? My opinion?

Lol, I didn't even criticize their story.

Why do you guys think happened?

She slowed her breathing and searched her mind for a recent memory. Anything at all that might give her some kind of clue. She remembered driving out to Salton Sea. She remembered a body in the desert, and a small diner off the highway. She remembered calling Grace, fighting with Jane, driving back to Sacramento alone. Awareness hit her like a bolt of lightning, and her eyes shot open. The brightness in the room sent a white hot stab of pain through her skull but Lisbon did not close her eyes again. She darted her gaze around and found herself not in her bedroom, but in a brightly lit hospital room with daylight spilling through the half-open blinds, sunbeams pouring over the foot of the bed. The beeping came from a monitor which she was strapped to, the pace of which had increased dramatically in the last ten seconds. She looked down to find herself dressed in a hospital gown and half covered in a scratchy blanket. The distress call. The dilapidated old house. Partridge. Red John. 

I have always wondered what might have happened if Red John had been less charitable when he kidnapped Lisbon in Desert Rose, so I wrote about it! You can read the fic here :)
