Just finished watching the '06 live action Death Note movies. I know they get a lot of shit, but god damn that was a fun watch. Honestly my only real gripe is why did Raye Penber's name get changed?! Also, lol, I forgot Red Hot Chili Peppers music was a whole thing for The Last Name. Why wouldnt you go Maximum the Hormone?!? Nightmare at least.

Lot of nostalgia for me. I was in late middle/early high school when i went to go see these for the first time, in theaters. I went to all three dressed as L. (rewatching the L movie next) A friend, who has since passed, and I routinely went to anime movies at the same theater and found a small group we consistently bumped into at them. I wish i still had the pictures of me with Misa Misa.

Mr. Bungle live 1999 covering RHCP

(x) In retaliation, Mr. Bungle parodied the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Pontiac, Michigan, on Halloween of 1999. They covered several of the band's songs, with Patton deliberately using incorrect lyrics, such as "Sometimes I feel like a fucking junkie" on "Under the Bridge". In the middle of the concert, bassist Trevor Dunn (dressed as Flea) walked up to guitarist Spruance (dressed as the ghost of Hillel Slovak) and simulated injecting him with heroin. Patton (dressed as Kiedis) interrupted this by shouting, "You can't shoot up a ghost".

So what is Paprika's deal?

After she met Zir, it didn't take very long for him to realize she was both homeless and starving. As a result, she was taken back to the Explorers like some stray cat. What they don't know is why was she on the streets to begin with

I recently posted this photo which serves as a sort of timeline. The first photo is taken not too long before Paprika became a run-away

Paprika grew up in a stressed home environment with a handful of siblings, and parents that were somewhat neglectful due to dealing with their own issues

Tension, fighting, and aggression within the household kept escalating throughout her middle school years and she mostly tried to keep her head down and hope it would blow over

Eventually, the stress in the household reached a boiling point and there was an attempted murder between two family members. She had just finished middle school when this happened, and to say it was upsetting to witness would be an understatement

The assailant faced no consequences, and Paprika realized that she very well could be killed if she stayed in the household

This drawing is her memory from what occurred not long afterword

What actually happened might have been twisted and distorted by the fear Paprika was feeling, but she left that same night. Contact with her family has been non-existent since then

Spending so long without a home or food stability took a toll on her, and that's why she's so violent and reactive by the time she meets Zir

Paprika is really just a teenager who was let down by the people that were supposed to care about her. It's not some extraordinary backstory, but it does explain why she acts how she does
