short ramble responding to your tags lol: I started off as a educational psychology major, creative writing minor and then did one show with my uni's drama club and then changed my entire degree and did so many cool shows and wrote cool things (lavender menace and red rabbit my beloveds) If I was able to, I would have majored in theatre too (but they have now completely cut theatre from my campus 🥲)

ooh educational psych sounds interesting! i have a friend who's an education major/theatre minor and her passion for it is so so epic

like i said i changed my major after like. a week or two lol. part of it was also the way i just got super quickly absorbed into the theatre group (clique, we're a clique, my school is pretty clique-ish 😅), plus! there's another girl there who's three years older than me but is otherwise very nearly my carbon copy (if i were from the opposite coast) and SHE also started out as a creative writing major/theatre minor before switching to a musical theatre major and double majoring! so naturally i had to do the same, we wouldn't be matching otherwise 😂

theatre's just. intoxicating. like you said, all it takes is one show. i was hooked as soon as i saw other people audition. when callbacks were posted and i was called back for antigone. when our director and her husband piled a dozen people into their little apartment downtown just to hang out for fun. when people scooted their chairs in the caf to make room for a girl whose name they could just barely remember, i was so new. when the set got built, piece by piece over two months. when i built my character secret. when our creon would yell at us, only to laugh and crack jokes as soon as rehearsal was over. when i got tears in my eyes from ismene's sheer overwhelming emotion. when i heard people clap for the first time at something i had performed in, actually really performed in—no more shitty high school shakespeare! and i've been assistant costume manager for the last three months, and it's been exhausting and stressful and why the hell did they put two freshmen in charge of all the costumes for a show with as many quick changes as "the glass menagerie"!!!!! i've never done a quick change in my life!!! but i love these people to death and though i'd rather be on the stage again i'd never trade this for the world.

they're also making our theatre department smaller so i feel your pain :( they're graduating this year and next year's seniors, but this year's sophomores and freshmen are being advised to simply switch to the new course catalogue since they're dropping about half a dozen essential classes for the old catalogue. which means i won't take smth like stage makeup, or dramatic lit and crit, which SUCKS, but i'm still so, SO excited for the shows i'll get to be a part of here, and the friends i'll make with the group that's here now, the group that'll come in next fall, the group that'll be here when i'm a senior. it's so so sick and i love it so much!!!

I want the bikes to be recognisable and in line with my branding. these are some pictures I want to take inspiration from. I want to design only the frame and keep the handles and wheels black.

Benthic bloom just has the same problems as ego right?

Not exactly the same, since one of ego’s problems is that it can take red items while benthic bloom’s problem is that you’ll only have red items, but still

It’s an item that, after a set interval, turns items into other items.

Red items are great, but I honestly don’t think that benthic bloom is justified as white items are the foundation of a run, and it locks you out of the best item in the game, being clover. Even if you did have clover, the only consistent proc chains you could get out of it are the perforators, meat hook and daggers, which are pretty good, but atg and uke are such defining parts of a proc chain build that not having them consistently isn’t worth it

Ego, however, is less consistent than benthic bloom, but does its job better.

First of all, it takes items 1 at a time instead of a stack at a time (correct me if I’m wrong) meaning that even if ego took a few crit glasses or atgs, you still have crit and atgs, just now with really good homing bombs.

The problem is that now you’re locked out of the incredible reds like meat hook, daggers, and, yet again, clover.

However, you can play around this by topping up your reds, and which, while harder than topping up whites, you only have to do one at a time, and it won’t immediately reverse all your progress if you get unlucky.

I’d need to play more games with both on eclipse to fully form my thoughts though

After leaving the town I stumbled upon the altar of the thief by chance (luckily Throné was in the party) and learned what that symbol on the map meant, which reminded me that I had seen it before near the scholar license place

I went to check back on it (with Osvald in the party of course) and my intuition was correct ! The ex skills unlocked were also pretty promising (especially Osvald's since I'm always buffing him to hell and back and having an easy way to spread the nuke setup around opens up new synergies, and Throné gave her AoE for breaking which is always nice to have)

After that I got back on track to do Partitio and Osvald's crossed path and was taken aback by how nice the artwork for it was (I'm very much the target audience for it and I have accepted my fate)

It was really nice to see some more interaction between these two, and I like the way they contrast one another in their ways, so I'm excited to see what the second part will have in store for them

I kept that crossed path stride to tackle Temenos and Throné's, with yet another really nice artwork and fun interactions between them (Temenos keeps meeting my comedic expectations and I love him for it)

With all that accomplished, I did some more exploration to look for all the licenses and altars I knew I was still missing, while also trying to reach some new cities

The hunter license and altar were pretty easy to find within the island's limited scope, and I immediately gave the hunter job to Osvald (he looks like a dork, the weapon variety is always appreciated, and the crit support skill was tempting too)

I also risked life and limb to reach a nameless village beyond a high level area where I was thankful to the scholar support skill that reduces encounters (I would have been obliterated otherwise I think)

The dancer altar and license were a little more stressful to find because of the area's higher level but I managed, and gave Ochette the job since I didn't really know what to do with her and extra buffing is nice (considering how under levelled she was especially)

The cleric license and altar was more of a lucky find while going to Hikari's second chapter, but that meant AoE heals and staff/light magic for Castti, and she deserves the world

Hikari's arena arc was fun, and I got to abuse his overpowered sword some more (I don't regret giving it to him he now deals absurd amounts of physical dmg and makes challenges for more skills a breeze (but he has terribly low SP))

This chapter unlocked a new crossed path for him and Agnea, and I can't say no to more Agnea story so I went for it (and yet another pretty artwork)

I really they were going to get scammed at some but it didn't happen... yet. It might happen in the second part. Maybe.

Next was Throné's second chapter for the Father route and I won't pretend I expected the guy to go down so soon but I didn't think Throné's would be not only foiled but masterfully so. At least he doesn't seem to actively want her dead but damn... next confrontation should be interesting to say the least

More exploration leads to more altars and licenses, this time the apothecary one on the way to Ochette's second chapter for Cateracta. I didn't know who to give the license to at the time so I kept it in my back pocket for when I'll have a plan

Speaking of Ochette, I wasn't hooked by her second storyline either, but at the very least Acta is adorable

Before Castti got too over levelled I changed course and did her second chapter in Sai, with the warrior altar and license on the way (which went straight to Throné, that simply looked too good and she is already physically-oriented so the stat boost was nice (but really that red is too good to pass up on))

Castti's story was pretty interesting, it sets up some more mystery with the plague doctor-masked person, the (poisonous ?) purple rain, the abandoned village (which I had been to and could recognise, that felt rewarding) and more evidence that although things seem suspicious, Castti was always a good noodle willing to help as much as she could

Up next is the Castti and Ochette crossed path, and also finally getting back to more of Osvald's revenge story before he becomes exceedingly powerful (not that I would mind) for the recommended level

Octopath Traveler II delayed playthrough blogging

Contains light spoilers of some early chapters I guess

I started the journey with Agnea because she looked like a sweetie (and she is) and she really has the most jrpg "leave of this small village to see the big wide world to make your dream come true" beginning

I got her to allure a villager that replenishes SP with every dancer skill she uses and she's been the cornerstone to most battles ever since

The second traveler I got was Partitio and he's a funny lad, I love his vibe, hat, jacket, and speech ! Also, the atmosphere of his storyline was a nice dramatic change of pace after the cozy first one I got

I headcanon that Roque's betrayal was in fact very much a divorce with Partitio's dad and I cannot wait to see how that applies to future chapters (I do hope it ages like fine wine rather than milk)

Partitio's combat performance was pretty solid despite a lack of AoE but the weapon variety for breaking was the early highlight

I ignored the fork in the road that lead to Hikari in favor of recruiting Castti because I wanted a healer and I feel slightly guilty (but also not at all)

Castti is literally so nice to people I can't wait to see if she really has an extremely shady past that will torment her for at least 1 chapter before she decides that she's going to be a good noddle in spite of all

Her concocting is pretty fun but I wish I had more diffusing serum (I can make do with latent power for now but it'd more fun to let her do some fun nuking)

Castti is also extremely tanky (she's the only one I have with over 1k HP so far) so she was a very welcome addition to the party

The next step in the journey was recruiting Osvald (I wanted to start with him but the 2 forced chapters made me decide to instead make him the reward for reaching the eastern continent) after I ignored the boat that lead to Ochette and wandered around until I stumbled upon a boat that lead really close to Osvald on the map and eventually found him face-down in the snow (which makes my decision to no start with him even better)

His first two chapters cemented him as one of my favorites beyond the visual vibes I got from the first selecting menu, and his skillset was a cherry on top

AoE magic nuking when I already have some buffing and BP donating in my party ? I'm sold. Free weakpoint reveals every battle ? Even better ! Osvaldo battle voicelines ? Yes please !

After that I found the scholar license and decided that Agnea should also learn to buff spell intensity to make my Osvaldo nuking engine even stronger (she's been doing great and I'm very proud of her)

Since it was on the way to Agnea's second chapter for which she was at the recommended level, I went on to recruit Temenos and he did not disappoint ! He really gave me an impression of being a seemingly upstanding fellow who is in fact not only shady but just the right blend of ambiguous tease with genuine words thrown in (props to his voice acting that really sells it)

His detective moment was also pretty cool, especially after seeing the duality of his abilities to get people to follow him without risk of failure and his (very shady) coercing to get more intel

I considered replacing Castti with him as my party healer but he is very squishy compared to her, and she also has weapon diversity and more consistent debuffing over him so for the time being he's just chilling at the tavern waiting for a party composition that makes him shine

On my way to the big city I found the inventor license and could simply not resist giving it to Partitio it simply fit him too well (and more weapons to break with is very nice), although I'm thinking of changing it later to try a Temenos build that would allow him to break even more and coerce better

Now onto the big city to recruit Throné and let Agnea's story unfold further !

We (The 5th Floor) have teamed up with Specialized o launch our custom Specialized Allez Sprint track bike for the next 3 rounds of the 2017 Red Hook Crit series. I am very exited about this partnership and super stoked to have had the opportunity to design the custom paint job on these bikes, which is based on our 2017 kit design by adidas. The Allez Sprint Track, which is based on Specialized’s road Allez Sprint, is still not available to the public. We will join Specialized’s fixed crit team, Specialized-Rocket Espresso, in being the only team to use these bikes. Unlike the Team Specialized-Rocket Espresso bikes, these graphics will not made available to purchase.
