RARE Aaliyah photo shared by @mailucas_photo
I had the opportunity to photograph Aaliyah for a French magazine, she had agreed to wear our French Hip Hop fashion creations with the outfits from @homecore_paris Best Flygirl ever.
Photo look familiar? Yes, a fan shared a painting a few years back. Funny how we are now finding out this was inspired by a REAL photo of Aaliyah.
Shout out to @everydayaaliyah for the find!

John Reith, 1st Baron Reith of Stonehaven, 1889 - 1971. Director-General of the British Broadcasting Corporation
Artist: Sir Oswald Birley (New Zealander-British, 1880-1952)
Date: 1933
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland
Description
n 1922 Reith became the first general manager of the British Broadcasting Corporation and from 1927 he was its Director-General. He had real vision about the role of the BBC in the life of the nation and was largely responsible for establishing the public service ethos of broadcasting and his standards (often imposed dictatorially) are still just evident. This painting is a copy of one commissioned by the BBC. Reith selected the artist who has successfully conveyed his sitter's determined nature. A large scar, received during the First World War, is just visible on his left cheek.

Maria Luisa of Parma (1751–1819), Later Queen of Spain
Artist: Laurent Pécheux (French, 1729–1821)
Date: 1765
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Collection: Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, NY, United States
Description
This portrait of Maria Luisa of Parma, granddaughter of both King Louis XV of France and Philip V of Spain, was sent to Madrid in advance of her marriage to her first cousin, the future Carlos IV of Spain. It is exemplary of formal eighteenth-century court portraits. Painted in Italy for Spanish eyes, it teems with French decorative arts, evidence of Parisian craftsmen’s international preeminence in the period. The bronze clock case is supported by an exoticized elephant, the gold snuffbox is fitted with a miniature portrait of Maria Luisa’s future husband, and the impressive chair comes from a suite of furniture commissioned in Paris by her mother a decade prior.

Mr Mung with his most recent toy capture in the Red Chair.

"No, the Brother, you may not haz this seat. It is mine alone, can't you see the sign? Reserved. Reserved for ME. Me and mine toys. So, no. Bye now."
Mr Mung enacts the "Reserved" rule.

Portrait of Francis I of Austria
Artist: Thomas Lawrence (English, 1769-1830)
Date: 1818-1819
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Royal Collection Trust, England, United Kingdom
Description
This portrait of the Emperor of Austria was commissioned by George IV at a cost of 500 guineas. Lawrence ventured across Europe to undertake the King's commission of a group of portraits of the allied military and political leaders involved in the Napoleonic Wars. Although Lawrence met the Emperor during the Congresses of Aix-la-Chapelle and Vienna in 1818-9, the dates during which he undertook this painting itself are not known, as it remained in the artist's studio at his death in 1830.
The Emperor is shown in military uniform with his plumed hat on a table beside him; the riband and star of the Order of the Garter worn under that of the Golden Fleece. In addition to enabling him to render details of military dress with accuracy, the artist attached particular importance to capturing his sitters from life, in order to imbue a sense of liveliness. The Emperor’s countenance, he described as 'rather long and thin, and when grave, is grave to melancholy; but when he speaks, benevolence itself lights it up with the most agreeable expressions, and making it the perfect image of a good mind.’ (letter of 5 November 1818).The conception of this group of twenty-eight portraits began in 1814 when George IV
