Although this is not her last TV appearance, this would be her last TV performance before passing away a month later.

I used to love watching The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and I still remember how surprised I was the night Aaliyah appeared as a guest. I hadn’t expected to see her, and it made the whole episode feel special. When she finished her performance, she took a gentle, humble bow. At the time, it just struck me as classy. But now, looking back, that moment hits differently. That simple gesture feels almost symbolic; like a soft goodbye we didn’t know we were receiving.

Aaliyah & Best friend Kidada Jones filed documents under Dana I Enterprises, Inc. (and was represented by famous music lawyer, Brad D. Rose) to launch a trademark called DALIPOP (dated July 23, 2001). Notice, the documents were launched one month before Aaliyah went to the Bahamas and lost her life and the trademark was closed out in 2003 as "abandoned".

We all knew of the brand name and clothing line, but didn’t know it was DALI (not DOLLY) POP and that the brand name is a mixture of both Aaliyah and Kidada’s names combined; DA for DA in Kidada’s first name and LI for the LI in Aaliyah’s name.

It didn’t just stop there! This brand was going to not only launch clothes, but check out the sides, Aaliyah and Kidada were planning to launch a cosmetic line, Sunglasses, Jewelry, Purses and various handbags, Trading cards, Note pads, and so much more!

We can’t say it enough just how bad we were robbed. Aaliyah was doing SO MUCH before SO MANY of her peers. She was the true blue print! She was out here playing CHESS while some of her peers were still playing CHECKERS.

Aaliyah was about to be one of the first self made female billionaires of our era. Just let that sink in.

Aaliyah and boyfriend Damon and Dash attend the movie premiere for “Planet of the Apes” at Ziegfield Theater in New York City.

The Ziegfeld Theatre was a single-screen movie theater located at 141 West 54th Street in midtown Manhattan, New York City. It opened in 1969 and closed in January 20th, 2016. The theater underwent a major renovation and re-opened in October 2017 as a luxury event space called the Ziegfeld Ballroom.

Lil' Kim performed at the Tequila & Taco Music Festival in Ventura on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The festival took place at Surfers Point Live at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
