I don’t like the Follow Button appearing at the top in someone’s Instagram Story Feed. Also, I’m going to need a drink if I ever want to finish watching the Season 3 Christmas episode of Ultimate Spider-Man. I turned away from it immediately when the 1st Enforcer started talking.

Season 4’s Christmas episode, along with both the former and Season 3’s Halloween episodes were better.

real talk. I love when 811 or my art inspires people to make traditional stuff. as an environmentalist.... i think it promotes a fun way to RECYCLE! and use the damn art supplies u might have in a closet or shit. Like if you wanna do something small and fun to help our planet, see if you can recycle plastic into art or use that untouched watercolor set. see if you can paint or draw a damn stick figure. And then tomorrow try something else and explore around. Eventually you might get to the point where you enjoy fixing an old pair of jeans instead of buying a new pair.

Also a great way to battle negative feelings about A///I and art.

Drawing can be mindless fun with crayons too. You can make collages out of old magazines or newspapers. At the end of the day, if all my stickers and drawings will end up in trash, at the least I’m proud to have repurposed a plastic’s life outside of once use and treasured it on my walls when I was alive.

While we at Gossip Queen love a trip down memory lane, we can't help but wonder why recycle? The Crown Princess has cut back on many of her engagements this year. This last month alone, there hasn't been a spotting of Princess Odette going to or leaving school.

Time Begins On Opening Day 2024: Round Up Post #1

🌞 First Half Commentfest 🌞

First Half Commentfest runs this weekend, from Friday July 19 to Sunday July 21. As we catch up with all these amazing works (fic! art! poetry! y’all are amazing!!) my challenge as a mod for us is to get every single one of these works at least five independent comments from five independent readers by the end of the weekend. (So we’re not including creator responses in that comment count!)

Why? Because it’s very easy to feel isolated as a creator – particularly in a small fandom like baseball rpf. We all know how easy it is to hit the kudos button and move on, but in a challenge designed to inspire creators for a very small, very spread out of fandom, a little encouragement can go a long way.

Podcast + blindy collaging. I loved these fish i found in a magazine. They are made from old fishing nets and debris that litter the isolated far north Queensland beaches. Communities from the northern Territory, gulf of Carpentaria and through the Torres Strait Islands transformed these washed up materials into these epic recycled fish !

breakup poem #1: the bath bombs on my bedroom floor

i'm staring at the bath bombs in the lush bag

on my bedroom floor, and

trying to decide what to do with them.

i kept the receipt, it's inside the bag.

i could regift them, but that feels strange and uncomfortable.

i should just get over it and return the three of them.

but the thought of handing them back to the gal who sold them to me, also feels strange and uncomfortable.

i walk away.

undecided.

they can sit there, on the floor of my bedroom, next to books i haven't read yet and paintings i keep meaning to hang up.

i don't have a need for them.

then i turn, stare at them some more from the doorway.

it's like the collage. the scarf. the book. the candle that says, "You're my favorite notification."

i can keep the book. destroy the collage and toss it into recycling, because it's upsetting and stupid and it just reinforces the foolishness in my heart. the candle i can burn, with the label facing away from me. the book i can keep and add to my collection. i'm glad i didn't inscribe it.

i used to work at a bookstore. every time someone sold a book inscribed to them, i felt a little sad. sometimes we say goodbye to things because we're better off without reminders.

the scarf presents another problem. it's a gift with nowhere to go. i kept your address. i kept the list of things you like and enjoy.

it just seems out of line to send anything without your knowledge, without your permission. but i have this scarf. i don't want to regift it. i don't want to donate it. i don't want to keep it.

some naive part of me wants to hold onto it on the off chance you'll magically appear on my doorstep. this version of me is more patient, willing, and optimistic. and this version of you is brave, unyielding, and confident. this version of you holds a bouquet of snapdragons, because why not? go big or go home, even if it's a knife of foolish hopes and catastrophic day dreams.

this version of you stands behind a door that i open.

and suddenly, everything i've ever lost comes back to me.
