A wise decision, from our viewpoint. These are not government hacks bowing to kids, but fiscally-conservative scientists taking their own, sweet time as the data trickles in. This move should help more states make good decisions, too.

I fully support Pluto as an aro symbol (x) but as a space scientist I cannot support any arguments that claim it's because Pluto should be a planet. The true reason Pluto is an aro symbol is precisely because people tie the amount of love and care this wonderful celestial body receives to which label it has. Just because a relationship with someone is not labeled as romantic should not mean that this relationship has to be treated as less worthy of time and care and effort. Just because Pluto is not labeled as a planet does not mean it is less worthy of our time and care and effort.
Here is another reason Pluto is aro: Pluto has a heart shaped region called the Tombaugh region:
Tumblr media
[ID: an image of Pluto and it's heart shaped Tombaugh region, with the moon Charon in the background. End ID]
Now, Pluto and it's moon Charon are tidally locked, meaning they always face each other with the same hemisphere. Pluto's heart is always facing away from Charon. Some articles have phrased this as being tragically romantic, but I disagree! Here are two celestial objects orbiting each other for billions of years, and they are doing this while Pluto keeps it's heart hidden. Because in this case, love is not part of the equation that makes up their bond, romance does not play a part in their gravitational pull towards each other. That's aro as fuck, in my humble opinion.

My atlas/occipital bone region feels absolutely awful tonight. I assume it’s the cold snap making my old chiro injury flare up but nothing I’m doing to ease it is working.
My skull is just sitting lopsided on top of my neck because of the scar tissue and I know it’s probably not visible but to me it feels like an inch long shiv has been wedged between my skull and vertebrae.
I need a new neck, please. One without bone spurs, spinal cord compression or any of the other shit that went wrong after it all went wrong.

so i just read the newest chapter of Fuck it we Barn and i have a question...
do you have any references/pictures of what Leo and Usagi would have been wearing or something similar to it?
like, anything from a picture of a real piece of clothing to a pintrest mood board with a ton of different pics of random stuff would be fine
just please i need to draw them but my brain cannot think of what their outfits would look like
here ya go
Tumblr media
Usagi has the large coat from the back of the SUV over his regular attire (based on his regular fit from the series)
Leo has the Yukata from the snow lantern festival. Though by the end of the first chapter he would look a LOT worse (he very very sick :P)
and obviously you cannot see his shoulder wound but it is definitely there along with a shit ton o bandages
bellow is the sword with the charm from the precious chapter
And a version of the drawing with the wound at its current state

[T]he infamous Diable (Devil’s Island) [French prison in Guiana, South America] [...]. Seventy thousand convicts were sent to French Guiana between 1852 and 1938. [...] Alongside deportation of political prisoners [...], a [...] convict population [...] was sent to the bagne (common parlance for the penal colony) [...] as a utopian colonial project [...] via the contribution convict labour would make towards colonial development in French Guaina. However, [...] French Guiana [...] was predominantly used as a depository for the unwanted citizens of France and its colonies. The last remaining French and North African convicts were repatriated in 1953, whereas the last Vietnamese prisoners were not given passage home until 1954 [...].
[T]he same form of built environment and carceral technology [...] structures found on Con Dao [French prison in Vietnam] and [the French prison in Guiana] [were] built at almost the same time [...] to house the same convict populations (Vietnamese implicated in anticolonial struggles) [...]. Old world colonialism is thus displaced by new world imperialism. Both rely on the prison island and its cellblocks. [...]
---
The carceral continuities [...] throughout France’s penal colonies are supplemented by legal exceptionalism which works to redefine colonial subjects within shifting political contexts. [...] Many of the Indochinois convicts transported to the forest camps of French Guiana in 1931, including the Bagne des annamites, had originally been classed as political prisoners. The transfer was intended in part [...] to remove a number of anticolonial actors from Indochina. [...]
As political deportees sent to French Guiana were usually exempt from labour according to the political decree of 1850, this status had to be revoked to ensure the maximum labour force possible.
Consequently, those arrested on suspicion of specific acts of violence or property damage were reclassed as common criminals. Described by Dedebant and Frémaux (2012, 7) as “little arrangements between governors,” this was not simply a sleight of hand but written into legal codes. [...]
---
[M]any of the Vietnamese sent to French Guiana had to wait until the 1960s to be repatriated. [...] After their sentences were completed, convicts were not simply repatriated to France or other colonies.
A system of “doublage” intended to shore up colonial development meant they had to serve the same length of their sentence again on the colony. For those condemned to eight years or more, this became life. Opportunities for sustainable livelihood were limited in a territory possessing swathes of free convict labour. Worn out and sick from their time in the bagne, most of these men were unfit to work and relied on charity to survive. [...]
[T]he last living convict [of the Guiana penal colony] [...] died in Algeria in 2007 after being repatriated to Annaba. In an interview given in 2005, he claims that every night he dreams he is back in Cayenne: “when I think about it, I get vertigo, I spent my life there” [...].

So Terrans wanna hear about the legend of the 12 original primes?
Terrans: :0
Thrash: Wait, primes? ':/
Jawbreaker: There’s more Primes than Optimus?
Hashtag: I thought that was just a him thing, like, part of his name, yknow??
Nightshade: and original? Legends? There’s a whole lot of history to the whole Prime thing? How many have there been over time??
Optimus: this is a discussion for another day, yes there’s lore, and there’s been a lot, I am perhaps… officially 16, unofficially 17.
Twitch: so, does this mean, there’s some truth to those comics…? Like, that ‘Rodimus Prime’? He’s real?
Optimus:
Optimus: fuck
Optimus: this is a trap. I call upon the first.
Twitch: please? We’ll leave you alone if you tell us.
Optimus:
Optimus: fine, yes, Rodimus is real. One day you may meet him, but it’s not likely to be soon. And he’s not quite like the comics depict him. Do not tell anyone else, the only people you can talk about him with is myself, Elita, and Megatron. Alright?
Optimus: now go play and gimme like, a week to a month to figure how to explain the whole Prime thing to you all.
Nightshade: I… suppose that’s fair…
Hashtag: alright.
Jawbreaker: he’s not mean, is he?
Optimus: no, not really. Now shoo, little ones, and when I’ve got it figured out in a digestible manner, I’ll tell you.
Jawbreaker: Oh, okay. :)
Thrash: I feel very cheated right now.
Optimus: in that case, perhaps consider never playing monopoly.
Thrash: *glare*

Writing the administration is fun.
Then I keep making them murdery.
I need something more life threatening then papercuts from forms.
The place seems real big anyway, maybe if it was a dictatorship in a way, all employees are seen as disposable and replaceable so they wouldn't mind losing some.
Imagine being "fired" from the infinite workplace leads to you in an incinerator.
also I feel like murdering employees would be less paperwork then having to deal with their potential screw ups if they go out of line.

Ngl, as much as im having fun with the early access Hades 2 game, since getting the record keeper that records all of my runs, ive noticed that some of my successful runs are a bit off bc the surface region isnt complete... like i have a 12 minute run for the surface, and im probably never going to get that again once they finish the surface.
Honestly once the full game is out i might just start a new save file so my runs arent skewed... also bc now that i know the strats for the bosses, i bet i could down chronos for the first time by night 15 instead of night 20+
