Rebecca gives you one book without Violet and Xaden miscommunicating and you guys call it cringey? Are you all ok? No seriously what was cringey about this book please tell me cause I don't get it.
Also, halden wasn't there to cause conflict between xaden and Violet. He was there to show Navarrian leadership's actual part in killing the venin which was 0. It was also to show the possible future of Navarre.

Pre-ac3 desmond appreciation because I miss my silly, sarcastic guy who had a crush on Lucy
I miss the guy who had fun playful banter with everyone in the group. I miss the desmond who leaned on Lucy's shoulder and offered to throw her in the air so she could reach the ledge. I miss the Des who checked in on everyone and managed to brighten their day, even if just a little. I miss the desmond who, despite facing the end of the world, found the fun in the situation and even called it "the best time of his life"

I wouldn't say Ted Lasso did any of its abuse/abuse recovery narratives "well" but I do think they did parts of all of them like really well, which is what makes it all so incredibly frustrating. Like, showing how hard it can be to intervene by having the Diamond Dogs be avoidant and non-confrontational despite their mutual concern about Beard's relationship with Jane, but then having Higgins step up and say something anyway (and even though Beard didn't take his advice, it still felt like okay, this is a good, this is a realistic and messy and complicated narrative to tell that nevertheless highlights the importance of speaking up and being there for your friends even if it doesn't always work out how you'd planned), having Beard & Roy jump in to help Jamie at Wembley and Roy respond so well to Jamie's story in Amsterdam, humanizing Rupert in International Break and giving the backstory for why Rebecca fell in love with him and offering them a moment of real connection again without once pushing the narrative that he should be forgiven or that Rebecca even considers for a second taking him back...all that shit was GOOD!!! it was really nuanced and complex and good!! andddd then it ended with the BeardJane wedding, a James Tartt Sr. forgiveness agenda and Rupert morphing immediately into an over-the-top cartoon villain like what 😭 they had the capacity...and yet!!! nooooooo.

New biscuits with the boss is just Rebecca and Roy bonding over their mid life crisis early-to-mid-twenties (ex) boytoys
Noooo you have no idea how real the Roy and Rebecca/Sam and Jamie alliances over Torrid Affairs With the Boss are to meeeee

Tairn is Violet’s one true love confirmed. You said it Rebecca, not me. It’s canon now. That means I can write all the weird dragonxhuman romances I want and you can’t complain.

My hot take is that it should have been Rebecca, not Ted, who talked to Jamie about his father in 3x11. Here are my reasons:
1. So much of Rebecca's arc is about recovering from an abusive relationship while her abuser is still, somewhat unavoidably, part of her life. Her experience with Rupert and Jamie's experience with his father aren't identical, but she knows better than anyone else at Richmond how it feels to have someone like that turn up at her place of work, and how stressful their planned encounters are, even when they're just in the same large stadium and don't need to directly interact.
2. As the owner of the club, Rebecca almost certainly knows what happened at Wembley, and she's not only well-placed to make practical arrangements like getting James banned from the match (since none of them knew he wouldn't be there) but also, as of 3x10, has come to terms with with her relationship with Rupert — both the good parts and the many, many bad parts — in a way that enables her to interact with him when necessary without massive emotional distress, while also keeping very firm boundaries in place. Basically, she, unlike Ted, could offer advice based on relevant personal experience.
3. Jamie could finally find out that Ted didn't have him sent back to Man City — while it would be nice for Ted to say it, Rebecca is better placed to give the full story, and she and Jamie have a lot in common when it comes to expressing their hurt in a way that leaves a lot of collateral damage.
4. Explains why they're hugging in the finale.

whenever someone reads a prequel or a retelling and complains about knowing how it will end since the beginning I'm like. bro. dude. bitch. however you prefer to be referred to.
✨THATS THE FUCKING POINT✨
It's about the tragedy of reading all the ways the characters are unknowingly building towards the very same fate they are so desperately trying to avoid.
ITS ABOUT THE BITTERSWEET JOY OF KNOWING THEIR STORY IS STILL WORTH TELLING.
REGARDLESS OF HOW IT ENDS.
if your story is only good when reading through it the first time? if the reading experience is spoiled by knowing what happens?? (pun fully intended) it's not that well crafted a story imo.
Sometimes it's not about what is going to happen. Sometimes it's about reinterpreting the characters. Sometimes it's about exploring themes through a story we already know.
Sometimes the storytelling is enhanced by knowing how it is going to end.

Something about how in the finale, in the shot of the team party at the Higgins's house, we see Rebecca and Jamie hugging. Depending on your interpretation, this can be real, or it could be Ted's dream sequence, the way he hopes things will turn out. Either way it prompts questions from me. If it's real, what exactly happens to get Jamie and Rebecca - who we've never seen interact - to hug when Rebecca arrives? And if it's a dream sequence, is Ted simply wishing for the whole team, Rebecca included, to be closer than before? Why is he wishing for Jamie and Rebecca in particular to be closer? is it at all tied to the unanswered question of whether or not Jamie knows Rebecca sent him back to Man City? Could either option simply be based on the fact that Jamie has become an important person in both Keeley and Roy's (both being people Rebecca is already close to) lives, as in by being around them means that Jamie will inevitably be around Rebecca more? I'm overthinking this but I have Questions.
