♡ Baptiste: For Baptiste he needs more emotional closeness with his s/o than physical, he’s completely happy to wait until his s/o is ready.

♡ Lucio: Like Baptiste he wants an emotional connection to his s/o. Lucio is fine being in a relationship with no sexual intimacy, though he’d be completely ecstatic if you ever decided that’s something you wanted to do with him.

♡ Reinhardt: He’s a strong believer in chivalry, he wouldn’t dare try to be intimate with his s/o without their complete consent.

♡ Genji: He’d be patient in waiting for his s/o to be ready, Genji needs an emotional bond more than he requires sexual intimacy. There isn’t zero chance he wouldn’t, but more than likely he wouldn’t try anything until his s/o is ready.

♡ It really depends on which Hanzo we’re talking about. Young Hanzo would definitely, he’s brash and ambitious. Being the heir to the Shamada clan, and he’s take it as in insult if you were to do anything less that surrender yourself to him. Older Hanzo has come to peace with his past actions, and after the death of his brother he’s settled down a lot. He’d be willing to wait until you were ready, wanting it to be a meaningful experience for not only him but also his s/o.

♡ Rammatra: This one also depends on what his s/o is, varies based on if they’re an omnic or human. With an omnic s/o he’d see them as an equal, he’d be much more kind and considerate of their wants and feelings. With a human s/o they’d be more of a pet to him, he’d have no issue taking whatever he wanted from them whether or not they were willing.

♡ Junkrat: He isn’t very self aware when it comes to his obsession, he’s almost completely delusional about their relationship. To some extent he realizes you aren’t together, but he doesn’t care to let his thoughts linger on the fact. Jamison little issue with his s/o’s consent, he makes the act about them, he gets his fulfillment from it by giving rather than receiving.

♡ Soldier 76: Both prefall and current Jack would have little issue with it. He’s in a position of power, and you’re not, he’s a super soldier if he wants to he will. He’s learned not to hold onto guilt, so he won’t feel that for what he’s doing.

♡ Cassidy: He’s a very sex driven person, he can go a little while without it but he expects his s/o to give in to him eventually. His drinking is what leads to it most often, and his s/o can expect no aftercare from him once he’s done.

♡ Reaper: He’s a jealous and possessive person, even before the fall of Overwatch he has sadistic tendencies. Gabriel doesn’t need reciprocation from his s/o, not that he would enjoy it, he just doesn’t need it from them. While he’d be more rough in his Talon era it doesn’t mean he’d be much better before Overwatch’s fall.

as much as i generally like the new reaper-sojourn interaction, as it is nice getting any ties of chase to the og overwatch team and knowing reyes had friends even when his reputation was on its lowest, it also makes the thing they are hellbent on avoiding so much more noticeable

why is one of overwatch's most notable critics, and in that probably one of the biggest haters of blackwatch and their deals, the one offering comfort to the worst offender? and not, you know, his best friend? one of the very few who are actively worried about him as far as current canon lore tells us? at least his protégé who is due to an actual confrontation with him? tbh /to me/ this interaction feels like it could've worked better with anyone else from the strike team, but exposition on why gabriel went to talon concerns jack and cassidy above all else

it genuinely is so strange seeing how connected characters all have something to say to each other even in the non-canon limbo that is in game interactions, but the gabriel-jack bond, which is one of the actual bases of the whole story, and which often shows up when these two are concerned in the extra lore content because it is pretty unavoidable to their characters, seems to be actively glossed over in game /where it actually matters/. they have mean rivalry kill chatter against each other and that is it. all you get is the knowledge soldier 76 is actively following reaper now, no reasons beyond taking talon down. if your only contact with overwatch is what is currently in game and the famous cinematics you could never guess their importance to each other's build up, when every other iconic duo, as ow is obsessed with yin-yang types, has at least some solid nods going on (sounds silly to people who care about any of this, but go check any lore explanation video comment section on youtube and see how many casuals are only vaguely aware of the lore through in game interactions and second hand word)

(it is awkward, since we are getting these little but thoughtful interactions scrapped off pve recently to half the cast. even OW1 never quite delivered anything big about their past but they had their familiarity. and i mean, they did talk to each other at least)

........on the other hand, that interaction is also fascinating because it makes code of violence even more of a bizarre tipping point. gabriel's, and not reaper's, aknowledgement of vivian's support and worry makes his choice of abandoning his friends, his family, his goddamn small child, to play a violent assassin terrorist so funny. this dialogue puts it quite plainly, it was an active choice. they keep painting him as more of a massive asshole or a complete rancorous dumbass with every new personal lore drop, the contrast to what we believed (or knew, before the change of writing direction) of noble gabriel reyes in the golden era up to retribution is almost surreal

Alright so let's get started on the little bits of lore sprinkled in this book! In the book the recipes are separated into continents so I'll do the same here.

Also please not this book came out awhile ago so many characters are not going to be included. I am forever asking for a new cook book everyday.

I'm only really going to get into the descriptions but if people want I can analyse the recipes themselves, but I think you would need to specify the specific character.

Anyway let's get into it!!

The Americas

Cassidy

Cassidy always got Carne Adovada when he was in New Mexico, he specifically got it from this whole-in-the-wall on Route 66 just outside Albuquerque. It also states that he got a "hearty serving" of it.

Cassidy often has Bizcochitos when celebrating or just when he's having a break. It also seems like he enjoys them specifically because they remind him of home. I personally read that as they were something his family made pre-crisis.

Cassidy's cocktail of choice is called "Deadeye", it's sold at the Calaveras bar. It contains four black tea bags and four ounces of bourbon. making it like that gives you two servings. Also the description of this drink implies that Cassidy regularly put bourbon in his coffee.

The drinks name being "Deadeye" could imply that the bartender named it after Cassidy. The description of Deadeye also comfirms that Cassidy is a regular at Calaveras.

Ashe

Corn pudding is a comfort food for Ashe, B.O.B often makes it after a heist has gone sideways. She also eats it after every encounter with Cassidy. B.O.B makes it without being asked.

Ashe doesn't like a lot of deserts because of her parents neglect and the amount of bad birthday's she's had, however, Orange Crème Caramel, a flan dessert, is one or the few deserts she likes, even calling it one of her favourites.

Ashe's choice of drink to unwind with after a long day of running the Deadlock gang is Texas fizz. It also seems like her drinks of choice are more on the fizzy side.

None of her recipes imply that she cooks anything herself.

Soldier 76

Jack and Ana often made pancakes in the morning before Overwatch collapsed, Jack often adding cinnamon and orange zest to the batter to give it more flavour. When asked Jack would say the flavour would give the pancakes a little extra pick-me-up first thing in the mourning.

Jack's family had a meatloaf night and a chicken-and-biscuits Sunday.

Jack often makes an old family recipe when he's feeling wistful, specifically he makes a "Tater Tot hot dish", it basically a shepherd's pie with potato gems (tater tots) instead of mash potato. The reason he makes this dish specifically is because of how flexible it is, allowing him to use whatever meat and veg is on hand.

Before he and Vincent broke up Jack tended to make Hoosier Sugar Cream Pie for them both during the rare peaceful weekends.

The 76 was a milkshake Jack used to get after working on his families farm in the summer.

He grew up in Bloomington, Indiana. (idk if that's been mentioned anywhere else)

From all the recipes he has I think it's safe to say that Jack has a sweet tooth (like seriously all the recipes have a ungodly amount of sugar, even the tater tot one-)

Reaper

Reyes go to breakfast is a Breakfast Quesadilla, something that he has always made even when growing up in Los Angeles.

Even as Reaper he can still eat regular food, something I have seen people ask if he can still do.

In the early OW days Ana, Jack and Gabe often sat down and shared some churros. His go to food after a rough day is Chili Con Queso.

Reyes made his own cocktail, called the "Scythe", to drink after a difficult Blackwatch mission, such as the Venice Incident... when I say there is a lot of alcohol in this drink I mean it-

Sombra

Molletes are Sombra's go to food while she's working (I've made this recepie and same girl same)

Sombra's Sopa Azteca recepie implies one of two things about her, one she was taken in by a family at some point, or two she managed to get a home on her own when she was a kid. My bet is on the former since it's implied she doesn't really make it herself. Though this does seem to be a comfort food from her childhood.

Sombra likes Conchas and it's implied that she gets them from the Bakery Alejandra and her mother work at/own.

Sombra favouite cocktail is the Dorado Sunset, something that seems to be a common cocktail in Dorado but the Bartender at Calaveras makes the recepie shown in the cookbook specifically for her. This confirms what it does for Cassidy and that is the fact that they are both regulars.

Lucio

Lucio's go to snack is Pao De Queijo.

Lucio tends to go fishing, or that at least what his Moqueca recipe description reads to me.

Lucio's father made him Brigadeiros on his birthday, leading to Lucio considering them a very special treat.

(in all honesty the descriptions for Lucio's recepies are small and don't really reveal much so-)

Africa

Ana

Ana never learned how to cook because of missions and training, so her go to meals were salad and soups.

Most of the recipes Ana did know were recipes she made for or with Fareeha.

The descriptions of Ana's recipes never mention Sam, only ever mentioning sharing these recipes with Fareeha, further signifying that Ana and Sam are divorced though it seems to me that it was earlier in Fareeha's life then I initially thought.

Pharah

Baked Kibbeh is a recepie she learned from Ana and after Ana's "death" it was a comfort food for her.

Canadian Butter tarts are something that both Fareeha and her father bond over and often share during the holidays.

This is were Cassidy and Sam's relationship is described as "complicated". It's also implied that Pharah was often sent to spend the holidays with Sam, meaning Ana seemingly had majority custody over Fareeha.

Sometimes, Pharah dreams of just sitting down with her mother and sharing a glass of Sahlab.

Doomfist

Doomfist seems to be similar to Ashe in being implied to just... not cook for himself.

Before missions he eats a bowl of Jollof rice, something he did bac when he was doing martial arts.

When he was a kid his favourite sweet was shuku shuku.

Doomfist considers gin over rum because it's more sophisticated.

Orisa

Puff Puff's are one of Efi's go to foods, they are also mentioned a lot in the Hero of Numbani novel.

Efi made a Sundae inspired off of Orisa.

Efi's go to drink when working is hibiscus tea.

Europe

Tracer

Lena comfort food is Sticky Toffee Pudding, she often makes it whens she's feeling low to remind herself of what she's fighting for.

Lena's favourite meal is fish and chips, specifically the ones from Bell's Fish and Chips.

Lena and Emily like to share Battenberg cake, usually after a date at the movies.

Lena got a Primm's cocktail renamed after her after her efforts in restoring peace after the Kings Row Uprising. The drink was renamed the Cavalry Charge and it is something even Torb enjoys. Though he does mutter to himself that he should have never given her that catchphrase.

Moira

Moira's go to breakfast is a Full Irish Breakfast washed down with a cup of coffee

Moira and her family had regular Sunday Family Dinners, to the point were Guinness Stew is a comfort food for her. It is something she makes when she's craving the warmth and comfort of home.

Moira makes Barmbrack after a day in the lab though she sometimes changes the original recipe to fit with the tastes of Oasis, implying that she sometimes shares this dish with her colleagues there.

Torbjorn

Torbjorns favourite thing to cook is kroppkakor because how easy it is to tinker with.

Ingrid is a chemical engineer and she a very inquisitive, something she passed down to Brigitte, and to the surprise of no one her apple pie the favourite of one Angela Zeigler.

Brigitte

Toast Skagen seems to be her go to brain food, often eating it when she's working on something.

Brigitte like donuts, but not more then semlor buns.

Brigs go to drink is the Saft Drink, however she often changes the recipe to include a variety of different things each time, only ever using a template to help her make the drink.

Widowmaker

Widow often cooks herself since she is now living in her the abandoned Château Gilliard, one of her go to meals is Vichyssoise, which she finds fitting due to it being served cold.

Gratin Dauphinois was a favourite of Amelie and Gerard's, now she only really eats it for sustenance.

Widow loves pavlova, both when she was Amelie and even now as Widowmaker. She often eats it after a successful mission.

It's implied in the desciption of her "Widows Kiss" drink that she drinks it at the end of every day, she likes the bite of the drink.

Reinhardt

To no ones surprise Reinhardt eats a lot.

Kasespatzle is a comfort food for Reinhardt, often eating either for his own enjoyment or because he is feeling discouraged.

One of the things that help Reinhardt remember the possotive memories he has in Eichenwalde is the cake that is made there.

Reinhardt is a loud but fun drunk.

Bastion

Bastion likes Bird-Shaped Pretzels

Bastion knows how to make treats for birds.

Mercy

Mercy's go to meal is Bircher Muesli, she often recomends it to patients and even made Genji eat it while he was in recovery. Though he seemed to have not enjoy it at the beginning he has since grown to like it.

Like Cassidy, Angela takes enjoyment in eating cookies while taking a break or just when she's feeling overwhelmed, her favourite cookie is the Basler Brunsli.

Angela often mixes brandy in with her tea after a life-threatening ordeal.

Australia

Junkrat

Junkertown has a local burger called, well, Junkertown loaded Burger, which is one of Junkrats favourite meals.

Honestly these recipes confirm my belief that Junckrat should not be allowed near a kitchen.

Junkrat like Boba, idk if this is in his emote or not but it's not just a little reference, Junkrat just likes boba.

Roadhog

Roadhog often makes snack mixes because he and Junkrat never really have time for a full meal.

Roadhog used to be a farmer before the crisis, from this time fairy bread has become a comfort food.

Asia

Genji

Genji and Hanzo both loved the Rikimaru ramen shop when they were younger, often challenging eachother to see who could eat the spiciest bowl. Though Genji has made peace with his past those happy days with his bother still weigh heavily on him.

Soba-cha custard was something invented by the Shimada chef as a way to reward Genji and Hanzo for studying. Genji used to eat his on the roof of Shimada castle in order to look over the rest of Hanamura.

Green Dragon Tea seems to be something Genji made while he was under the teachings of Zenyatta.

Hanzo

Hanzo seemingly doesn't know how to cook complex meals like the ones he used to eat with the Shimada clan, right now he often eats simplistic dishes like Tamago Kake Gohan.

When he was younger Hanzo would have Shimada Tempura to reward himself after getting all his jobs done, his doesn't eat it anymore but the smell of it brings him back to a simpler time.

As a child Hanzo used to enjoy Sakura Mochi during Hanami

DVA

Hana's favourite food, other than chips and nano-cola, is Kimbap, so much so that when her fanbase found out MEKA made an official MEKA Kimbap, specific to all of Hana's favourite fillings.

When Hana finally takes a break, Dae-hyun tends to make her his Japchae.

Hotteok are Hana and Dae-hyun's go to victory food.

Hana has a drink named after her, well more specifically her mech, called the Bunny Hop Punch, it is one of her favourite drinks to order

Mei

Mei often cooked for her friends at the Ecopoint, now when she cooks she gets a bitter sweet feeling. Even so, she still cooks the recipes she did back at the Ecopoint to relive the good times she had with her team. This includes when she makes hot chocolate.

Despite cooking a lot, Mei was never able to make certain recipes out in Antarctica, now though with her travelling the world she can make more of the food she wanted.

Zarya

Her favourite soup, Borscht, might be the inspiration for her hair colour. This was also something she had often as a child, along with being one of her favourite meals.

Like many others Zarya got a drink named after her called the Super Nova, it is a pink twist on the White Russian.

Symmetra

Pakora is a childhood favourite of Satya's, though she can't eat it a lot with Viskar, she still enjoys a plate when she can.

Symmetra often enjoys the flaovors of the food from her home, even though it is worlds apart from the food Vishkar serves. It is a comfort food for her.

Symmetra likes making Kaju Katli because she can make the dough into any shape she wants.

Zenyatta

Zenyatta often uses food to spread empathy and understanding, often using it as a way to bond with the people he encounters.

Zenyatta often make Vegan Momos to share with those met meets during his travels, Genji being one of these people

The go to Tea for the human Shambali pilgrims is Tibetan Butter Tea.

The Moon

Winston

Winston likes Pineapple on Pizza, this type of Pizza was often enjoyed on Gibraltar and other Watch points, often being on the centre of the table

Harold Winston used to make Lunar Colony Pies for Winston before he died, Winston still has fond memories of these pies

Bananas are WInstons least favourite food, only tolerating them if they are dipped in peanut butter

Wrecking Ball

Hammonds favouite snack is a wrecking ball made out of cheese... because it's a wrecking ball made out of cheese.

Imagine reaper had a daughter with his (ex???) wife before he died / disappeared, she knew him as a hero and always admired him etc. so his daughter joined overwatch after a few years now that she was older and wanted to follow her dad’s steps (obviously not knowing the behind scenes of his job) but in a mission reaper sees her and is not capable of doing his job because he recognizes his little girl

“What.” He didn’t understand what Ana meant. If anything it was about Pharah, but if anything she grew on him years ago, not that he would admit it. She only sighed and shook her head, pointing behind him.

Finding his wife, Martina. Her hands were cupped around something that she held to her chest, slowly opening them. In her hands sat a pregnancy test. He only stared, so she rightfully got worried.

“Really?” She nodded. Instantly he rushed over to her, lifting her into his arms. He was never good at words, but his actions made up for it.

The months passed before you and your brother were born. While he took after her you were a mix of both. He became a mummy's boy, so Gabriel made sure you were a daddy’s kid. And with the amount of overwatch posters and apparel around it would’ve been surprising if you weren’t.

What was even more surprising was that he just didn’t return. None of the family realized until Jack, also known as Soldier 76, alerted you. But that wouldn’t do much when there was no trace of where he went.

So the next few decades you had to grow up without him present, with the closet being all the posters still hanging. Although they were quickly removed and hidden. It didn’t stop you from following his footsteps even as your mother testified.

It would be dangerous, even life risking. But you were willing to take that risk, after all your father did.

Arms wrapped around your waist and hauled you into the air, although it wasn’t hard to figure out it was. The massive muscles revealed it as Reinhardt, then came his voice, yelling even though he was right behind you.

“Look at you, finally grown up!” Suddenly his arms were gone but you weren’t on the ground. Instead he had thrown you into the air, making sure you safely land and stay on his shoulder.

“ANA!” There he went, bringing you along to show off that you were back, now to work.

Even if you just joined you were much more prepared than other recruits. Likely from the fact you had been training all your life with Ana, Jack and sometimes Reinhardt, who never wanted to hurt you during so.

So that came in handy very quickly. As you were selected for a mission, going with other official overwatch members. Ana, Brigitte, Genji, Cassidy and D.Va. Flown across the world to your location, Busan in South Korea.

It was a simple recon mission. Get in, find the needed information then leave. But you guys were never going to do it alone. Talon hiding in the shadows, keeping track of their own information.

Reaper had made his way around and behind your team, able to follow the familiar voices.

“Genji!”

“McCree!” Of course he would run into those two. Thinking his time with them was long but over, apparently not. Stepping out closer to watch the commotion, not expecting another familiar sight.

“McCree, don’t step any closer.”

“And why is that?”

“You don’t want to piss off Reyes do you?” Following his words you walked into their sights. Ultimately making McCree back off, not before complaining.

“Reyes won't be able to keep you safe forever.”

Even with Gabriel out of your life you were much more similar than you realized. And hopefully you didn’t become too close.

I will say I like how the characters that are queer are like realistic

Like, Tracer casually refers to her girlfriend Emily in a few interactions/voice lines, which I think is really cool. It's a subtle way of building her character without making anything seem forced. I just also think these two are the cutest together, especially in that comic thing where they visit Winston and all have sweaters, that was precious.

Baptiste being bi makes me very happy in a way I cannot explain. It fits but like it just makes me so happy. I do not understand why and I'm not in the mental state to question why

Love old gay man Soldier. One of the most straight coded characters and he's fucking gay. Fantastic I love it, 10/10.

I want Pharah to have a girlfriend so badly. Badass butch Pharah and her sweet femme girlfriend would be so good. (I do not see Pharah/Mercy because I want them to stay friends for the sake of there can be strong, platonic relationships between gay and straight women without the queer one harboring feelings. And I feel if they did that, it would be forced to appease the fans that do ship the two. Also I just ship Genji/Mercy too strongly)

Venture 👌 it's a shame they don't have more skins because I've seen several really good skin ideas for them.

I will admit, I definitely still ship Cassidy/Hanzo. But like, I feel like they have such a complicated relationship until they realize they have romantic feelings for each other. Lots of arguing, lots of what seems like hatred of the other, blah blah blah. Meanwhile Genji who knows both of them the best, is like "nah give it time, soon they'll be inviting us to the wedding" (definitely no one believes him until it happens lol). Part of the problem I feel like is that Hanzo has a lot of internalized homophobia from being raised as heir to the yakuza empire his family ran. Like, that kind of situation doesn't seem to be very accepting, ya know?

It's also part of why he and Genji eventually became so distant from each other and what led up to the fight. Genji was openly queer in his delinquent teen years, and it pissed his family off.

But also firm believer in asexual!Hanzo. Let the man be a sad little weirdo with his cowboy boyfriend there to support him.

I feel like Morrison (Soldier 76) definitely harbored feelings for Reyes (Reaper) before the fall of Overwatch, but Reyes rejected him/had a family. It makes their relationship in current Overwatch even deeper because while the feelings weren't reciprocated, they were still friends and soldiers in arms, and now they're strangers to even themselves.

Overwatch Valentine's Day Headcannons

My headcannons about how OW characters would treat you on Valentine's Day. Does NOT include Bastion, Echo, Orisa, Sigma, Winston, or Wrecking Ball

Baptiste, Hanzo, Lucio, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, and Tracer follow the classic moves. They will ask you to be their Valentine; it doens't matter how long you've been together, and they always seem excited when you say yes. They cancel any and all plans on the 14th, handle all the plans and reservations, and give thoughtful gifts that show how much they know about you and care for you. Valentine's Day is always the WHOLE day for them. However, they are laser-focused on the day being perfect, and a small inconvenience can stress them the fuck out.

B.O.B, Doomfist, Moira, Ramattra, and Zenyatta don't understand the holiday at all. You guys shower love on each other all year long, so they don't need the calendar's permission to express themselves to you. But if Valentine's Day is important to you, they will match you excitement and energy, and do their best to meet your expectations. If your not a fan of the holiday, they won't notice it passing every year.

Brigitte, Lifeweaver, Mei, Symmetra, and Zarya are the ones who want to be courted and doted on. They love to be asked to be your Valentine, or surprised with a romantic night. You'll notice them getting a little more upset with you as the day gets closer and you don't seem to be making any plans. They just like being treated like the royalty they are.

Ashe, Cassidy, Pharah, Roadhog, and Sombra ask you about a week in advance "What do you want to do for VD this year?" And whatever you answer, they will go along with, even though they would rather treat it like any other day. This is not from a lack of romance or interest in you, but just a lack on interest on the holiday.

D.Va and Mercy are busy with the schedule of being a celebrity and a doctor, Genji has spent the past few years adopting an "every day is important" mentality, Kiriko and Sojourn are putting most of their focus on their vigilante work, and Junkrat always has a flittering mind, so they all have a 20% chance of remembering at all.

Ana, Illari, Junker Queen, Mauga, Reaper, Soldier: 76, and Widowmaker are the bitter, cold-hearted fucks that roll their eyes at the holiday. If there's love in the air, they're spraying Febreze and wearing a gas mask.

Picture if you will, Overwatch, outnumbered in battle by null sectors increasing onslaught as talon moves in with backup to crush the new age of hero’s.

Tracer running in to save civilians only to get wiped out by flying shrapnel thankfully leaving said civilians unharmed but Lena in peril.

Pharah shot down mid air and spiralling to the ground and Angela stuck behind cover avoiding reaper and unable to help her.

Cassidy is surrounded and Genji is being swarmed by ground soldiers and the backup drop ship still isn’t in sight.

Then suddenly Reinhardt gets knocked to the ground as the carnage slows in motion. Civilians screaming, children crying, gunfire, explosions, all echoed and before they can be replaced with the ringing in Reinhardts ears the first score of a music track plays.

“Where have all the good man gone and, where are all the gods?”

Reinhardt is laying there remembering his past, wondering why he bothered coming back, remembering Overwatch and the good days and how he was treated in the end.

Then right as it seems all hope is lost a blast from a pulse rifle shoots down the omnic looming over him allowing him a chance to fight back. And as the music swells with rapid drums heavy footfalls if combat boots run in time with them as a choir of voices rise up and 76 launches into battle to the cue of ‘I need a hero’

Then as thunder strikes in the background two bright blue dragons emerge from it spiralling down to aid the new Overwatch as Hanzo answers his brothers call, saving the younger Shimada and the cowboy too.

Then right as reaper has Angela at gunpoint a well aimed bullet knocks his gun out of his hands as Ana squares up to him making him back off realising he’s out matched. Angela runs to Pharahs aid and Ana locks eyes with Reinhardt before loading up a boost and taking aim hitting the old crusader.

And as the next chorus to holding out for a hero blares up Reinhardt grabs his hammer and launches himself up slamming the omnic down and rejoicing that backups finally arrived.

And it turns out lucio was up in the backup drop ship the whole time attempting to carefully orchestrate the music in time with the action while Hana caught it on her stream… Hanzos dragons caught everyone off guard though that was a surprise.

Alright screw it, full list of Kirby crossover Overwatch skin ideas:

Kirby Echo. Hard to explain how it looks with words but it works in my head.

King Dedede Reinhardt. In my heart this one is the Mythic skin of this bunch with variants for unmasked, the classic Masked Dedede mask, and the Forgo Dedede mask.

Meta Knight Genji. Not much explaining needed I think.

Bandana Waddle Dee Tracer. I didn't have any better ideas for either end of this pairing, but like. again it works in my head.

Whispy Woods Bastion. I swapped my ideas for Orisa and Bastion back and forth, but figured Ganymede dressed as the small Kirby bird of your choice would make more sense. Plus, Orisa already has a nature-themed skin.

Paint Roller Lucio. I think this is a fan favorite obscure miniboss, plus it'd be a fun different look for a Lucio skin.

Nightmare Sigma. With every idea for group skins I keep casting Sigma as the ultimate big bad, but like... c'mon it works too well here. The Hyperspheres are the ball form.

Dark Matter Swordsman Soldier 76. mouthful, yikes. I actually had a list of notes I decided to check partway through making this post, and I forgot about this one. I think the idea was the visor? Could be cool I think.

Marx Junkrat. funny little guy who chucks exploding balls. Could do a fun detail with his prosthetics looking like pieces of Nova.

Heavy Lobster Orisa. Favorite obscure Kirby boss that never shows up in a series full of recurring bosses. Definitely a skin nobody besides me consciously wants.

Mr. Frosty/Chef Kawasaki Roadhog. Hard to pick between these two iconic midbosses, but I very much only see either design working as like, an edgy slasher villain parody of the original when on Roadhog.

Adeline Brigitte. Flail is the paintbrush. That's all the justification I need to say.

Ripple Queen Mei. Definitely a more obscure character to prioritize but the idea won't leave my brain, I think it'd look too cute to pass up. Also yes: Snowball is Ribbon.

Dark Meta Knight Reaper. ow the edge.

Daroach Cassidy. Hat. Though would also consider Ashe, if only just for the sake of Storro B.O.B.

Drawcia Moira. I mean Moira throws around blobs and sprays of bright colors around, it works. Plus I think this'd be a fun look for her that's not too out of place stylistically.

Necrodeus Doomfist. Felt bad not having a Mass Attack reference of any kind for some reason (even though I don't have an Epic Yarn character here and that's my favorite spinoff). This was the best pairing of "cool bad guy" matching that I had left, but I mean I think it'd look cool.

Magolor Zenyatta. Silly floating man with his orbs and mysterious past.

Landia Pharah. Another niche one but it looks sick in my head. Was also considering giving her Dyna Blade.

Taranza Lifeweaver. Okay explaining this one: sad pretty boy with trauma and a flower motif. Plus they both use grabby magic to yoink people. Works with how average Rein players feel about Life Grip.

Queen Sectonia Symmetra. I wanted to have Sectonia somewhere and by process of elimination this is the idea I like the best. Not explicitly meant for a SymWeaver thing but hey that works too. the inverse height dynamic between the pairings feels wrong though...

Susie D.va. This is another obvious one, little pink bitches with big mechs, little pew pews, trauma, and room for me to project onto.

Haltmann Torbjorn. Another one from my notes I completely forgot about. But like. Yeah no it still checks out.

Francisca Junker Queen. A guilty pleasure choice aside from the shared blue hair and axes.

Flamberge Illari. Listen the brain blast I had when I realized "burny powers and also her gun looks like a weird sword." Plus they both scream an above average amount.

Zan Partizanne Widowmaker. It'd be a crime if she wasn't one of the most canonically french Kirby characters.

Hyness/Void Termina Ramattra. I don't know the exact logistics of how this works but in the abstract concept in my head this looks awesome.

Yeah that's the list! Everybody besides Mercy, Hanzo, Zarya, Ana, Sombra, Ashe, Baptiste, Sojourn, and Kiriko got one. Also no Mauga... or Venture... or Space Ranger... look this list was from a while ago, plus none of these are even out yet so sue me. (actually had a few ideas for Mercy, but none of them felt really satisfying. Favorite idea for her was using Forgotten Land's final boss mostly because of the silhouette being... more similar than you'd think at first.) Also I got at least part of each of the dream friends besides Gooey, but like. Literally what Overwatch character reminds anyone in any way of Gooey. Be honest with me here.

There's characters that I rarely play, only in MH or some shit, so for characters like Doomfist, most of his skins are from the bp or lootboxes. As I mentioned at the start, I don't buy skins for characters that I don't play - like the lifeguard skins coming out, I love them, but I don't play the characters, so why should I buy them? Saving them credits for items for the ones I do play.
