the epilogue last year with the fontaine tourists was pretty fanservicey, and tbh the epilogue the year before was also somewhat fanservice to me, (liyue gang dinner and zhongli venti teasing) though I liked it better. However I think this epilogue was actually really good— the hanging out and the fluff felt natural, it fit with everything else and wasn't super sudden. Maybe this was because of all the setup that happened (Yun Jin and Xiangling's promises to Hu Tao, Xiao and Yelan's dynamic built up in Perilous Trails and their earlier exchange), so the payoff is good instead of forced. After the trials and danger they got put through, everyone gets a chance to relax, and I appreciate the slice of life after the main plot. also Yun Jin's opera was crazy good considering it was not a cutscene, the animation and camera angles really sold it

I thought the special guest was xiao again, like how LR 3.4 had him dragged to the harbor by Hu Tao.... xiaolan banter was also v good though.

so far I wanna share my opinion about the game since I played it for 30 hours or so. starting with cons bc there's much less of them than pros

cons:

lockpicking. I was speedrunning all the locks in the first game with any skill level, and as much as it feels "unrealistic", it's still a matter of understanding the mechanics. many players got issues with it while others did great, so it was kinda fair. now the lockpicking is so hard with those shaking hands that opening a plot related hard lock took me AN HOUR and dozen reloads since all my lockpicks were breaking like they were made of paper — and I couldn't leave to work on the skill bc of the quest

horses. they are just slow and awful to control. in kcd1 I could ride from sasau to ratay with pebbles stopping once to let her rest, but now I need to stop every minute to go from the village to trosky castle. annoying af

this game makes me so stressed for the characters that I probably have grey hair by now (not a con actually, it's fun after finishing the quest, but during these i cry like a bitch)

changing block from q to right mouse button. i played kcd1 before the sequel a lot, and many other people probably did that as well, so the need to relearn that complicated combat system is annoying. also I'm fucking tired of pressing x to mount the horse like it was in kcd1 and opening it's stat window. even after 30h of the game I still get confused by it

it depends on the person, but I don't like the interface AT ALL. its just too bright in some places and dull in others so I literally can't see the text sometimes. it just lost the cool drawn vibe and many details are in 3d now (henry poses are fun tho)

the speeck checks feel to high, but I can admit it may be my skill issue

and now the pros!!:

quests!! the first game was really interesting as it is, but kcd2 has insane writing and I just miss how the time passes. the main story (the only thing I play for now bc I speedrun hansry romance) is so intense that I feel any death will be permanent like irl. the plot twists are fun, characters make me love them or hate their guts with nothing in between (spoiler I killed everyone for semine family bc I loved these to grandpas and turned out I was right about it yay!! and so was when the chamberlain asshole died, I cheered so hard). some moments made me go "hey I know [character-name] will be later, they can't die here... can they???😟😟)

kuttenberg. it's just gorgeous, nothing else to say. haven't seen much of it yet, but it's amazing and my wish to visit czech got even stronger

hans. the best thing for me in this game by far. I would give up anything and enjoy just talking to him for 200 hours, keeping him safe and sound. all the scenes with him make me either feel happy af or literally sobbing from stress because that idiot gets in dangerous situations way too much for my sanity (also third option is being angry like hell at him in the beginning of the game bc he acts like the biggest asshole, but I love him anyway). every reunion with him feels like home and I make henry tear bohemia apart just to save hans from everything (just as it should be). and the option to legit romance him feels like the most right thing to do because he loves henry, henry loves him, and that's it

spoiler!! the option to defenestrate istvan. the most czech way to kill someone, and it's one of the main villains! I was very satisfied

I love Darius so much he's absolutely one of my top favorites, it's like between him and Eda. He's hilarious, he's cunty, he's interesting, he's one of Dana's favorites, he's a good person but he's a bitch about it, his design fucks, he has no canon love interest, and I wish we got more of him. I have so many thoughts on him and he was only in about 15min of screentime.

What can I say, I looked at all the Coven Heads in the S2B trailer and immediately decided he was my favorite and every time he was on screen I was validated by how thoroughly he passed the vibes check

I am typically an aroace Darius enjoyer, but I have fondness for dariraine, dariraeda, and darimila (why is he always listed first and why is it fitting (wait I have to preface I'm ace and I use ship names by what sounds best I have literally never done it by "who tops" I can barely remember that's the common use of ship name order SO I'm mocking Darius as he would wanna be listed first because he's That Bitch)) because all of them have a lot of cute fluff potential (and dariraine has fun angst potential especially if it's between Eda's Requiem and O Titan, Where Art Tho)

Typically tho even in those ships I don't see Darius as someone that would live with a romantic partner, I think he'd want to keep his own house lol and he's very valid, it's styled exactly how he likes and no one else lives up to his cleanliness standards, it's win win for both parties

Darius & Eberwolf is literally Lilith & Hooty a little to the left and it's sooo fucking funny and wholesome for it. Lilith was actually my S2A obsession until she left I was so fucking devastated when she moved out, so seeing Darius & Eberwolf were a similar archetype to Lilith & Hooty really endeared me to them immediately in ER when we knew nothing about them. Then by the series end they really are one of my favorite little duos of toh they're comedy gold potential but didn't get enough screentime 😔 Darius surrendered for Eberwolf even tho it was at the cost of the rebellion and I still think about that scene. The ONE episode of interactions they had in COTH with Darius having to exasperatingly tell Eda what he means but also he calls her "Eda" not "Edalyn" like everyone else but Raine does, and Eda mocking Darius over beating his ass in ER and Darius IMMEDIATELY getting defensive & lying which Eberwolf calls him out for, DO YOU SEE MY VISION? My unpopular opinion about this character

Liking him at all is still quite unpopular 😔 this fandom sure treats the nonwhite parents a certain way lol. I also don't really like ala//darius, I get the appeal but it doesn't compel me

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

I've had a perfectly envisioned idea for a year or two now of an toh episode that followed the rebel trio after Them's the Breaks, Kid and before Hollow Mind that was a 3 part split reminiscent of how Once Upon A Swap was paced.

Not only would it tie back to the style of OUAS -- a notoriously hated toh episode -- but it would be able to give info in a slow drip by following Raine first, then by the end we see Raine is working with Darius & Eberwolf, then it goes back to the beginning of the day through Eberwolf's POV, then Darius' POV, and ending on the buildup that they're the rebels Hunter is chasing at the beginning of HM.

We as the audience can tell by the designs who they were in HM (or well. Most of us. Some people thought Darius was Alador for some reason) but ahhh think of the extra foreshadowing that could've been in HM if we got an episode inside the castle so close to the day of unity!! Like what if Collector's shadow was visible at one point behind one or all of the rebels, letting us know Belos knew exactly who they were which lead to the foreshadowing in HM of the 3 arrows being where Darius, Raine(Eda), & Eberwolf each get put to stand during the day of unity spell in King's Tide BUT ALSO how we don't REALIZE it's referencing them specifically UNTIL KT AIRS. LIKE THE LAYERS IT COULD'VE ADDED.

Also obligatory Darius Hunter moment has to happen here to lead to Darius' reaction in HM upon hearing Hunter was trapped considering their last on screen moment in ASIAS and some people even now can't visualize them interacting in a positive manner 🙄

I do imagine it would be a touch 🤏 angsty. Like in my vision, Darius sees Hunter getting heat from Kikimora over a wild magic book, and it's like she can't really do anything to him over it but she could tell Belos who would be unhappy to hear that and all 3 of them are aware this would be the outcome, and Darius debates for a solid 10 seconds if he should pretend he didn't see them because well as heartless as he knows it sounds it actually benefits him & the rebellion keeping Hunter at arm's length but now that he's spent time with the kid he's like not a bad kid maybe they can convince him to join them?? Before he goes over and like a true actor plays it off that he asked Hunter for the book. Hunter obviously does not play along well as he's not a good actor, so Darius very condescendingly tells Kikimora to leave like "you can read, can't you, Kiki?" And she sputters "yes of course I--" and he just cuts her off "then read the room" while giving her a cold look until she awkwardly and angrily leaves. Like absolute cunt behavior from Darius but it's hilarious and it works to his cover as a CH. He gives Hunter the book back when Kikimora leaves and they good naturedly mock the other's taste in books ("I don't know how you can read that, Deadwarian era writing is dreadful to slog through" "Well some of us like reading more than fashion magazines") before they pass the mess hall and Darius asks Hunter if he's eaten, "Y-yes!", Flapjack is not standing for such lies and pecks him from under his cloak, which Darius knows is Flapjack so he laughs and tells Hunter to eat, Hunter pauses before he tries to genuinely thank Darius for defending him earlier, and then well shit remember how it's better for the rebellion if Darius keeps Hunter at arm's length maybe he needs to remember the bigger picture? He was literally doing rebel work when he got distracted helping Hunter out, so he kinda gently tells Hunter not to expect he can always go save him, and because Hunter's an abused teen (not that Darius really knows that yet) and he was enjoying having an adult that's nice to him now he visibly deflates before quickly excusing himself

Darius apologizes under his breath because he doesn't enjoy being mean to Hunter (even back when he was being mean to him) but it's one of those hard choices he makes like how Raine refused to get Eda involved. Can be miserably tied back to how Hunter ends up hiding at Hexside and not the rebels finding & helping him.

Wow I went insane typing that all but yeah that's my vision of what I would add to canon if I could add 1 episode into the show that doesn't change anything at all it only adds character filler & foreshadowing potential. Maybe I'll actually write this fic one day haha.

Another thing I kinda wish canon would've done was overtly state Darius adopted Hunter because like it's clearly implied but a lot of people still deny it! Dadrius won guys let us have this they had to cut so much stuff from the show including Darius backstory

For this one I sort of based the characters on two of my actual cousin's friends, but the one for Wonwoo I truly dislike and had a hard time adjusting our precious Woo to fit in his character. I wish my cousin could bring a true gentlemen to me tho :(

The look of disbelief in your cousin Rina along with yours took her sister May by surprise.

"What do YOU mean? Cheol is taking his friends to our beach house." May said with a shrug

Sungecheol was the oldest of three siblings. Followed by May and then Rina. You were their older cousin, just one year older than Cheol, but they considered you their older sibling since you grew up together. 

"Who did he invite?" The siblings still argued

"Mingyu..." May responded

"I mean, it's no big deal right?"You chimed in sipping your orange juice. This brunch place had the best juice "Mingyu practically grew up with us"

"And Wonwoo"

"What a traitor, what about family bonding time?" You quoted the youngest among you

"I swear to god, you two are so difficult..." May said going back to her now cold French toast

You really missed this house. After 2h driving, arriving at your destination has never been so rewarding. Usually, Cheol would drive, but 6 people would not fit his car so you went in an all-girls car trip while he went with his friends.

The main entrance led you to the open living room with a kitchen on the right and the three of you headed upstairs to settle on the room on the left side of the house. The guys would share the room right next to it.

When they arrived, you were putting the groceries away and Cheol went to greet you with a hug

"Look, it's my favorite causing from mom's side"

"I'm your only cousin from Mom's side"

"Stop teasing her, we won't make any food for you" Mingyu joked and went to greet you with a quick hug

You turned your head to the boy who had just entered the house. Wonwoo smiled awkwardly and waved after closing the door behind him

"Hi" You forced a bit of  your smile and went back to organizing

The beach worked wonders on you. The sand underneath your feet, the sound of the waves, the humidity on the wind and the sun kissing your skin.

Through your sunglasses you could see the boys playing like kids in the water, splashing each other, while May sat next to you on a beach chair almost asleep. Rina approached you and offered one of the open coconuts that she had just purchased from a nearby vendor.

"Thanks! This one is so sweet" You exclaimed happily to her

"I know right? So many people were buying there that I had to get us one!"

Your conversation was cut short as the guys approached you. Mingyu saw you sitting on a towel and ran to sit next to you smiling

"Oh my god, you're so cold!" you shrieked and threw the towel inside your bag at him

"Coconut water?" he smiled brightly at you as he dried himself

"What else would it be gyu?" You laughed and offered him your straw. While he took a sip you saw the other two guys approach but ignored them.

"That's so good! I'll get one too" He stood up and threw the towel at Seungcheol. "Wanna grab one Wonwoo?"

"Sure" The quiet male responded

When they came back you all settled and stayed till early afternoon. Mingyu decided to go back earlier to light up the barbecue grill, and since you were kinda tired, you decided to tag along.

"You're going back already?" Cheol looked ah you quizzically

"Yeah" You responded. 

"I want my meat rare" Wonwoo smiled as the two guys looked at you 

You think I'm your maid? Go do it yourself

That's what you wanted to say but held back. Usually, you'd go back earlier to cook for y'all (It was a shared task, but as the oldest you'd usually initiate things), but this time that was not the case. You side-eyed him and ignored him as you walked back to the house.

This dude was really getting on your nerves. You found him awkward and strange, but worse, you found him lazy. He didn't help with tasks like Mingyu who was always ready to help you. It was like Wonwoo didn't belong in your dynamic like he wasn't supposed to be there. He avoided everyone and would only join if Seungcheol was present.

When you reached the house you calmed down a bit since Mingyu kept you entertained and busy.

"We should totally go check out those food trucks we passed by when we were coming here" May exclaimed after everyone gathered in front of the TV in the living room. One Piece played on the screen but most were not paying attention to the anime.

"Nah sis, we should stay in today. I'm dead from driving and spending the day on the beach" Cheol responded ready to set his attention back to the anime

"I think it'll be fun!" Mingyu chimed in. His closeness with your family allowed him to simply choose whatever, even if his friend who invited him wasn't going to tag along.

"We should go then" Rina got up to get her tiny purse and headed to the door. Mingyu and May followed her.

"You coming Wonwoo?" Mingyu asked the new friend, who simply shook his head and said he'd stay with Seungcheol

"What about you y/n?"

I had a weird dream today... basically Elden Ring as a freaking Disney movie (the cool animated ones). But not like, a movie about the plot of Elden Ring that we play in-game, but a movie set in its world, in the past lol

Now, I wish I actually remembered the finer details, but the gist of it is: This was at the time of Marika and Radagon, with the disney princess stand-in for the story being a Tarnished girl friends with many outcasts in the Lands Between. One of them was a Nomadic Merchant, so the whole thing with them had already happened. In fact, some people in the story mention Shabriri and how he got his eyes removed for being a lying asshole

The villain was Omenkiller Rollo (I don’t know if my brain made an association with Frollo and the fact Omenkillers basically slaughter those who don’t belong in the Golden Order), though he was somewhat nuanced because of the whole “destroy your own emotions to commit atrocities in the name of good”, and Godwyn seemed to have a more benevolent role. You know how sometimes, movies have this morally just person with great power that doesn’t intervene much in the plot and does only when it counts? I think he had the vibe of something like that. Sadly I do not remember much because a certain scene hoarded my entire attention sadly...

Speaking of... at some point the Tarnished girl is pursued by a mob and there’s no way to escape unless someone holds them off. So the Nomadic Merchant tells her to run as fast as she possibly can while he buys her time, knowing full well he would not survive the encounter. Of course she protests and he eventually screams at her with his eyes swelling with tears. Only then does she oblige and he erupts into a flurry of Frenzy at those who were pursuing her... However, he IS killed despite buying her the time she needed.

Sadly I don’t remember much past this point, I don’t know how Shabriri or Rollo were defeated (and if Rollo was defeated at all honestly) and if the story really took a Disney turn making the Nomadic guy come back to life after Shabriri was repelled (he and the Tarnished girl had some sort of Disney paring vibe tbh) or if he was dead for good... again, that sudden villain song just threw me out for a loop. Tell me about "Perspective!" Also the unfinished Endverse!Destiel hehe

Perspective was like a story about a hero turning villain in an old fandom I'm no longer in (like having hallucinations of the "villain" he stopped before taunting him even though the villain is dead and like telling him how "I was right, you know. Things are fucked up. You know it's their fault" and realizing they were right now that they're experiencing more of the unjustfulness of it themselves). It was okay-ish but I wrote it like three yrs ago and tbh I'm probably never gonna finish it lmao.

The Endverse Destiel tho was like. Playing on how End!Dean had relationships with multiple girls in the camp and how Cas probably got fucked by Dean too but felt used but he still loved Dean and cherished it and Dean clearly had favorites but I lost motivation midway through. Sadly. It WAS pretty good I think tho.

A small excerpt for you:

i'm gonna give the briefest and quickest run downs, just bc as a fan that was on twitter around this time, i full on hated this time period in the fandom and literally contemplated leaving bc of how bad it got.

so between 2020-21, colby was getting called out for a lot of shit. some of it was warranted, but a lot of it wasn't. for example, he was getting called out for mouthing the n word in a video and musically. he addressed it and apologized. and obviously hasn't done it since.

he was also called out for not doing enough for stop asian hate, which according to fans was he needed to retweet the right links, bc him retweeting whatever post he did wasn't good enough.

but then it got into a different territory. he started getting called out for the following: not immediately talking about jan 6 as it was happening, wishing happy international women's day, getting called out for mimicking brennen's weird voice in a video which apparently sounded like he was mocking asian ppl?????, the queerbaiting shit (which to this day i die on the hill that ppl cannot queerbait you, and on top of that brennen and sam never had to apologize), not calling out his fans for apparently being transphobic (even tho how was he supposed to know that was happening). there's probably plenty more as well, but these were the highlights.

and then in 2021, if i'm not mistaken, he ended up getting a terrible death threat that was posted by some """"""fan"""""". it was a really disgusting, long ass dissertation basically calling him worthless in a 1000 different ways. once that happened, he really removed himself from twitter, literally taking like a week long break, and from that point forward did not come back on the platform the same. he kept his distance from us after that, and when his journal was stolen… he really parted from the fandom in a way. bc there were ppl in the replies of that tweet celebrating him losing it. and i think that tied with the two past years of bs, it was enough for him to separate himself from the fandom.

bc before, he would tweet a lot. balcony tweets had been a thing for over a year, and then once ppl started harassing him, he stepped back. and look, i'm not here to argue that he didn't deserve to get called out for the n word clips or stop asian hate stuff. yes - those made sense. bc it's not a call out, so much as "hey, you need to address this". but everything else that followed was just straight up mean and nasty.

i mean, for fuck's sake, one of the many fans that called him out and celebrated him losing his journal, i just found out, WAS HAPPY he got cancer. that's how far some of these ppl's hate for him ran. even to this day some ppl dislike him for dumb mistakes that he shouldn't have made.

and i know i can't accept his apologies. i'm not here to do that. i'm just here to say that it's one thing to hold someone accountable, but it's another thing entirely to wish someone the worst and be glad when it occurs. bc that's demented. he's made mistakes, sure. but none of them are bad enough to wish him misery. at least i don't think so.

I'M BACK I'M BACK-

I spent the entire weekend at the hello82 ATEEZ pop-up in my city and omg, there were so many ppl,,,I talked to staff a lot these last few days and apparently ppl started lining up around 7 am to me further up in line,,,,(for reference, staff arrive at 11 am and the pop up doesn't open until noon),,,,they sold out in 2 and a half hrs Friday, 2 hrs Saturday, and 1 and a half hrs Sunday,,,,the amt of dedication some of these ppl have scares me, esp since it was 43°F (6°C) in the morning 😭😭

I'm still in shock over just how much has happened over the weekend, starting from the countdown live Thursday night before the MV and album dropped 💀

I ended up buying a signed album (BY MY BIAS NONETHELESS?? LIKE HELLO?? WHAT- 😃) and a pop up exclusive vinyl (I ALMOST did not get to buy it cuz they sell things out so fast even tho I was 9th or 10th in line) :D

THE POPUP AND HELLO82 EXCLUSIVE DIGIPACKS SOLD SO FAST?? Esp today, the Digipacks were out of stock by the 4th person in line,,,,all 4 of the first ppl in line bought 4 Digipacks EACH and I was walking around Sunday at the venue (being kinda nosy) to see what ppl got, and one of them had bought 1 of each version PLUS a signed album 😭 and Saturday, I watched a person walk out with like, one of each item (vinyl, at least 1 of each of the 3 versions of the album, and I think like 2-4 Digipacks and a signed, or if not, 3 signed versions of the albums 😭😭), and staff was nervous that their bag was going to break even thought they separated their stuff into 2 bags already 😭

I also spoke with someone in line who was in line all 3 days and they said they didn't sell out as fast on Friday because everyone was being careful to make sure more ppl could get the chance to buy something, but it seems they ran out of stock so quickly on Saturday and Sunday because some ppl up at the front bought up to the max limit, leaving the others with no chance of getting them which sucked 😭😭

I went thru so much gas this weekend for the pop up and the Cupsleeve events that went on in my area,,,,I started the weekend with a tank that was 7/8th of the way full, and now I'm down to 1/6 💀

But it was a fun weekend and I'm happy with everything I got, kinda wish some of the ppl up at the front of the line thought a bit more ab the ppl at the back when purchasing tho,,,cuz apparently they were there all 3 days and maxed out the purchases of at least 1 thing each day ;-;

Fourth wing by Rebecca Yarros- a spoiler free review

So, I read it, and I’d like to start saying if this is your favorite book or if you’re one of those people who get mad when someone says bad things about the things you love please don’t read it, I’m only writing this cause I wish so hard someone else had so I could’ve read it instead of the book.

If I have to choose one word to describe it’s shallow, Rebecca doesn’t bother to get deep about absolutely anything, not the plot, not the world creation, not the relationships, not even the fucking main character, so she accomplished something really hard here, she was able to be completely mediocre in the whole book and still make it a hit (I hate you tik tok).

The main character is exactly like any other in any ya novels, she so weak and little poor thing and she didn’t really wanna be there you know, what don’t get me wrong that can work in the right writing but not here, Yarros just told us how much she suffered and how much she was trying without never really showing us what just makes the mc into someone that gets everything handed out to her, what actually gets worse bc the girl is like literally a nepobaby, many times things only work out for her cause she had an unfair advantage but she never recognizes it, Rebecca keeps insisting with us that she suffered to get where she is, yeah, right.

The plot doesn’t catch you, or at least didn’t catch me, and if you’ve read a couple of ya novels already nothing, I repeat, nothing, will surprise you, is so formula made you can literally track the step you’re in you know. And since I’m talking about this is like no one else going to mention how much this sounds like a court of thornes and roses?? The romantic interest is SO Rhysand coded, and of course we have Tamlin, except Yarros writing lacked the subtlety that Maas had so he’s just plain out toxic from moment one, it doesn’t has the same effect. 

The dragons were cool tho, the only thing that kept me going, what just means that the whole ideia of a college where you go to learn how to ride dragons is great, but I bet it didn’t turn out how Rebecca wanted. In more then one moment I felt like she knew where to start and where she wanted to go but had no clue how to get there.  And since it wasn’t bad enough the fact that she was struggling to write about the life of a 20yo it get’s worse when Rebecca tries to go for politics, it’s so predictable it’s stupid, it makes you sad you’ve read so many pages for this.

About the romantic love interest, he’s also formula made, tall, dark skin, sarcastic, powerful and all that, I’m aware this has not gotten old for most people yet so you’ll probably love him, he is one of the most likeable characters, but the relationship build is plain out stupid, this is not enemies to lover, don’t fall for that. All the characters exist around the mc, they have no plot of their own (with one exception), as I said it’s really shallow. 

Well, anyway, I really needed to put this out there or I was gonna choke. For real, if you LOVE acotar you’ll like this (if you only like acotar it’s not worth it), and if you’re 16 or younger you should give it a try, but if you’re like me and has been reading this genre for years don’t bother, there’s nothing here for you, or idk ignore me and read it, so you can come here say I’m just bitter or say I’m so right.
