Preview of ❝The Little Human Experiment❞ [Legoshi]

Summary: Misaki was just your typical teenage girl living in Japan, but not in the eyes of her society. She's a human in a life where animals live and think like "humans" in our society. She is now brought in as an experiment for her new life outside her facility to see if humans can co-exist with different other species. A certain wolf gets quite attached to our human friend as he is tasked to protect her.

"Going already?" Mei asked as Misaki grabbed her bag. "Yeah, I have to go over there now to facilitate the choreography for the Light Ceremony," Misaki said as she patted Haru's head. "Get back soon!" Haru waved at her human friend before she left.

Misaki opened her phone to text Shiela that she would go to the clubroom as soon as she walked down the stairs. As she made her way to the clubroom though, she witnessed Juno carrying a sloth to the restroom. "Misaki-senpai!" Juno greeted with a smile as she placed the sloth down. "Ah, hello, Juno. Late for rehearsal?" Misaki asked as they walked to the clubroom together. 

"Yeah, I am. I apologize. Are you late too, Misaki-senpai?" Juno asked as Misaki texted Shiela once again that Juno was with her. "Not really. I come in and out of the clubroom as I have two clubs to deal with," she shared. "Woah, really? You must be very busy then. It's still remarkable as you're still the assistant head," Juno had great admiration for the human as she clung to her.

"Assistant director, but still the same," Misaki corrected as she opened the door. "Sorry, I'm late!" Juno announces her arrival while still holding onto Misaki. Misaki raised an eyebrow as she noticed how tense the room was until they came in the room. The majority of the members went up to the two.

"Come on, Juno! You're supposed to text Sheila-senpai when you're late," Els informed the first-year. "She was carrying a sloth to the restroom, so her hands were occupied. It was very kind of you, Juno," Misaki acknowledges Juno's willingness. "Why, thank you, Misaki-senpai!" Juno was happy with Misaki's compliment. 

"I've also made sure that Shiela got the memo and to not get you in trouble, so no need to worry," Misaki shared as everyone was wow-ed by Misaki's consideration. "But it doesn't excuse me for being late, so I want to clean the training hall after school. Sorry, Louis-senpai," Juno apologized as she bowed. 

"Oh, Legoshi-senpai!" Juno called out to the gray wolf. "I saw the dinosaur in the plaza. It was really pretty. The stage crew is doing their best, so we actors are going to do our best with our dancing practice. We're very inspired!" Juno smiled widely and only had her eyes on him. "...Mm, good, good," Legoshi doesn't seem affected by Juno's comment. 

"Yeah, you guys did great. Seeing as it's also my first time seeing it, I'm proud of each one of you. I'll be sure to take pictures of all of them when they're finished," Misaki smirked and showed that her lock screen was now the T-Rex Statue they painted, making sure she looked everyone in the eye. 

"Aww, Misaki!" Dom looked flattered. "I'm happy it exceeded your expectations!" Kibi smiled as everyone in the creatives team was appreciative of Misaki's honest remark. "Ah, speaking of, Misaki," Shiela walked up to the human and dragged her towards Louis. "We have some sudden news to share with you," she shared as Louis glared at the cheetah due to her comment before. 

"Yes, Sanu suggested that you'll be our main dancer," Louis mentioned and Misaki was shocked. "What!? What do you mean? I'll be at the front?" Misaki covered her mouth with her hand. "One of our dancers won't be available for the festival and you know the dances well. So, they made Juno be back up and you in the center since you know the dance very well," he shared.

"There's only two days left though," she looked worried. "You'll do fine, you the entire dance anyway," Louis was confident. "Did... did Tarok tell you that I'll be revealed too? Is that why you weren't opposed to it?" Misaki asked. 

"Yes, he did tell me. I asked his permission for the dance and he's fine with it. You won't be wearing that get-up anymore," Louis smirked and Misaki sighed. "Fine, fine. I'll do it. I'll text Haru that I have a big role here so they won't have to worry about my whereabouts," Misaki shared as she went to grab her phone to text her. 

"We'll do a quick fitting with you. I'm sure they'll just readjust one of the existing outfits," Louis told her as Misaki was ready to walk away. "I'll let Legoshi know," Louis smirked upon seeing Misaki frozen in place. He chuckled and patted her back and walked away from her to talk to Legoshi. She quickly ran to the changing room and walked out wearing her PE Uniform. 

"Woah, you do have fur in your legs," Juno wondered as she gave a close inspection of Misaki's legs. "They're called Hair for humans. Despite it being short and thin, they make sure they regulate our body temperature and keep dirt away such as my lashes here," Misaki pointed her eyes to let Juno get a closer look. 

"Woah, they're so tiny," Juno giggled. As everyone was talking to Misaki and was excited to see her fully perform on stage, Legoshi kept his eyes only on her. He looked up and down her figure as he felt aroused by her appearance. 

"Stop eye fucking, my sister." Legoshi snapped out of it and shrank away as Louis glared at him. Louis was most annoyed upon seeing Legoshi's wagging tail when Misaki came into the room. "Sister?" Legoshi questioned. "She's like a sister to me, so don't go hurting her," Louis crossed his arms as it would seem that he was finally open for Misaki to be together with Legoshi. 

"So whatever happened before they came in was a misunderstanding on your part," Louis pointed out. "You got the tape measure ready?" Louis asked. 

"Oh, yeah, I do," Legoshi went to pull it out, "Fix your problem first," Louis interrupted and he walked away. "Problem?" Legoshi questioned. He looked down to see a tent in his pants. He panics and quickly runs to the restroom. He could not believe he just had a hard-on. It embarrassed him more to notice his tail wagging faster than ever. He really wants to disappear.

"Where's Legoshi?" Misaki asked after she got away from the questioning members. "He went to the restroom real quick. Dom will be measuring you instead," Louis informed her as he tried hiding his laughter, which Misaki noticed but she didn't question it. She would truly have a heart attack if she knew that she had such an effect on Legoshi.

OK SO BRAINROT CONSUMED ME AND I WANNA TRY MAKING SOME PURELILY ANGST AU

Get ready for a long ass wall of text of my random rambles + sprite edit

Fallen king au(?): after the events of beast yeast eps 1-2, shadow milk wasn’t fully sealed away, instead part of him managed to reside in pure vanilla’s mind (don’t ask how this part even works just bare with me vro). Over the span of a few months shadow milk would mentally torture pure vanilla in an attempt to get him vulnerable enough to be able to control him, starting off as just simply annoying him but overtime becoming more and more horrible and traumatic. In the beginning vanilla would continuously resist against him, trying to stay strong and refuse to let shadow milk control him. This would happen around the same time lily was very mentally fragile after the events of beast yeast, elder faerie’s death AND her guilt of being DE, so at first she didnt really notice vanilla’s declining mental state, as he would mask it pretty well and was busy trying to help her. As lily got better vanilla simply just got worse and worse, the lack of sleep, how little hes been eating out of stress, and the horrible anxiety he had caused by shadow milk was taking a toll on him, as hed start to isolate himself and become more irritable and angry. Lily had started to suspect something was wrong with vanilla, as he isn’t like this at all, but when she’d question him and ask if he’s alright he’d either just lie and say everything was fine, push her and others away or just lash out a bit. Eventually shadow milk gave vanilla a choice, either 1: keep resisting and shadow milk would keep up the mental torture, or 2: give up and let shadow milk fully take over, that he would stop the torture and vanilla could finally be “free”. Vanilla just couldn’t take it anymore and decided to just stop resisting, letting the jester take over his mind and body, resulting in vanilla getting locked away within his own mind. Shadow milk having finally taken over takes a few days to regain the body’s physical strength and then causes havoc in the vanilla kingdom, later he goes to beast-yeast to cut down the silver tree. Lily chases after him, confronting him at the tree and they fight it out, she tries her hardest to talk her way through to him, trying to reach vanilla but to no avail, vanilla isn’t there anymore. She later has no choice but to seal him away, seal away her best friend, her best friend that was there for her, her best friend who she knew from their school days, and most painfully the one she fell in love with. She succeeds in sealing him away inside the tree, and as shes doing so she doesn’t see him as the evil beast he has become, instead she sees the little vanilla from their school days, she sees her very best friend, crying as he’s sealed away. Lily later on builds a shrine in beast-yeast in honor of him, to remember him, as she misses him dearly and regrets not doing anything while she could.

Mind you this was inspired from LULLABY FOR A PRINCESS out of all things (yes that one mlp fan song, shut up its good)

Plus here is a corrupted pv sprite edit, unsure what to name him, i was considering vanilla extract cookie but dunno, if yall got any name ideas pls tell me 😭😭😭

This au is still being developed so its bound to change but this is what i have so far!!! I rlly wanna keep working on this i just need to think. I wanna try writing a fic for funsies, im not rlly a writer tho so who knows!

What are some of you're favourite Sprite edits you've made Whether that be this year, or any over years you've been in the sprite editing business

Ok so I've made A LOT of edits over the years so it took a lil while for me to sort out the favorites and why exactly, but here it is so get ready for some rambling!

First things first i gotta say this isn't really organized from the one i like the most and least, i like all of these edits a whole lot and i really don't think i can pick one or two to be the favorite.

So let's start from the start (sorta) i have to give a spot to my Fantasy Au twins edits, it would be illegal to not put them in this list

The Sdra2 Fantasy Au was one of the first things i made in the fandom and i was attached to it for a long while. These are actually the 4th version of their sprites, out of all them only the 3rd had a full gallery of sprites and trust me they were complex since on top of posting i even made different tails and ears to move around depending on the emotion of the sprite.

Even tho i never finished this 4th take on them I'm pretty happy with the redesign (since as i grew older i realized some of my choices were questionable and i really should have thought more before just going with it, just keep in mind i was a dumb 14-15 year old then) and the improvement on graphical quality because not only does it show how much i improved in editing but also because editing the fantasy twins were my first really hard edits and i was always happy with how well i was able to translate their weird little designs to sprite form.

The Fantasy Au as a whole had a lot of edits with a bunch of complicated details that i never finshed and although I don't like them as much as the twins i do feel like they deserve to be shown somehere so have this pile of lizards, undead firemen and two human girls.

(fun fact; i didn't know how to add textures back then so see those scales on the dragons? I made them all by hand-)

Next one on the list has gotta be the Nijiue siblings! Crazy to think these guys are only 2-3 years old like it feels like they've been with me for ao much longer!

These guys where my first try at making Oc sprites since before all i did were Au stuff and they're very very dear to me, as you can probably guess by the amount of spites an different iterations i made of them over the years. While there are a few things i could improve upon them if i were to remake their edits nowadays, i never felt a strong need to do so because as it is their sprites hold up well imo so remaking them feels unnecessary to me.

And you know I can't really talk about them without mentioning the Voidswap Au and a couple tumblr blogs owned by friends of mine. After Voidswap's cancelation i didn't thought I'd ever use these guys for anything so to think that nowadays there's so many people who not only know these characters but care for them a lot out of seeing them in Asoot and Dfta more recently really fills me with joy! I'm glad y'all enjoy my silly siblings so much and obviously huge thanks to the mods for wanting to include them in their stories, I really couldn't be more thankful for that!

And since we're talking about the fam, let me add Mako to the list as an honorable mention of sorts, a i'm still very happy with how i made her adult designs especially the whole closed trenchcoat and open trenchcoat thing she has going on and how i was able to cary out the heart motif on both of them :]

This next one is one of my newer edits + a pretty simple one which is this Irl Sora design i made for mod Bubbles around early this year.

Honestly, I don't even know how to explain why i like it this much? Maybe it's because Sora is one of the characters from Sdra2 i still decently enjoy or because i had a fun time coming up with her design. I had in mind that i wanted something plain and simple just like her in-game one, just adapted to a more adult look. Rolled up sleeves to resemble her uniform's ones and a scarf to bring back the spark of red her old design had, i also gave her the short hair that post game Yuki has because it's still her body at the end of the day + i think butch-ish Sora looks pretty good :]

From simplicity we jump back into weirdness with these last ones because obviously i wouldn't leave my girls out of this list, what did you guys even expect?

Favoritism? Absolutely, by now I'm sure all of you know how much i like these two but focusing on the graphical side for once, I'm super proud of their designs, i think they fit with the weirdness of some of Linuj's design choices pretty well which in turn makes them look kinda legit? In my head at least. I also had a lot of fun working on their sprites, especially Beni's since it had been a long while since i last tried to really exaggerate expressions on sprites of my characters so that was really fun! + I'm super proud of the baby sprites i made of them too, almost as much as i like their standard/adult designs really.

Wedding Impossible | ep 7-8

It's been a while since I've watched a drama where a kiss makes me physically feel something. This one definitely did. And it had everything to do with the build-up.

You have Ji Han, who's been going through all five stages of grief re:his unwanted but very real feelings for his future sister-in-law. Invoking god and buddha. Folding paper cranes. Anything to stop feeling like a shitty brother.

And then the tables turn. He's told about Do Han's secret. Suddenly his hyung is in the wrong. Not because he's into boys but because it looks like he's using Ah Jeong. Everything is fair game now, as long as he can protect her.

Ah Jeong has also been busy crushing her feelings, after Ji Han's denial. She showed her vulnerable side, half-admitting that she liked him, and he shot her down.

She's a good actress but there's a difference between playing a role on screen/on stage, and turning your life into a web of lies. She's miserable, especially looking at her parents.

So we have repressed feelings on both sides. And the kind of exhaustion that comes from telling lies all day to keep up appearances. They even admitted that to each other on the set.

Ji Han finally decides to be honest, with himself and with Ah Jeong. About his own feelings anyway. Even if he has an ulterior motive for telling her then, he's finally saying something true. And she is broken and mad. Because she's been working so hard at keeping up the lie. She made a promise too.

But once the truth of his feelings is out, she can hardly pretend they aren't mutual and kisses him. And honestly, some of the best fictional kisses come after a big conflict. It has meaning. They're bridging that gap. They're embracing this love, in spite of it all.

Other things I enjoyed ep 8:

the choice of having no soundtrack during the important scenes (the brothers' fight, the confession). honestly a badly-timed song can easily ruin a build-up.

they both seem a little startled at the reciprocation. like "oh so you do like me."

Ah Jeong's interlude on set where she remembers who she is for a while. How Ji Han is a genuine fan of hers.

What Ji Han told the ex.

Ji Han kept calling Do Han selfish but I hope he takes some of that back later. I know it was mostly cuz he thinks Ah Jeong is being used. But he's also hurt at the lack of trust and I mean, it's hardly easy to come out in a conservative society. There was no guarantee that Ji Han would be accepting. Though it's disconcerting that he never tries to gage Ji Han's feelings. Could be as easy as watching a movie with secondary gay characters in it? To see if he reacts? Idk.

I'm conflicted. We'll see how that goes.

It's kind of funny to think how bad Ji Han and Ah Jeong will look from the outside. Though I'm sure she'd take the worst of the remarks. But considering she's only leaving a fake relationship for a real one, and he's only admitting to liking her cuz he knows his brother's gay, the gossip will be BAD. And there's really no easy way to fix that. Only live with it or Do Han comes out publicly.

Ji Han will be hurt when he realizes what was really happening tho (the contract). Not looking forward to this conversation.

Hope their little trip to escape reality next week won't mess up with the pacing. Should be fun to watch tho!

I might just do a few fun fact asks cause I can't combine all of the topics that are on my mind.

Here is an MCD characterization specific one - Meif'wa edition

The reason why Meif'wa are more likely to go into customer service and hospitality jobs is due to their innate instinct that taking care of someone is a sign of control. Much like how cats view grooming other cats/animals as a sign of dominance, culturally, it is the same for Meif'wa. Think a Ru'aun human man visits a brothel and believes he is on top of the world while the meif'wa lady knows that she has the better end of the deal. It would also mean that unlike most cultures, customer service is viewed highly.

I also believe that magic can be influenced multiple ways by environmental factors, genetics, and belief systems in the MCD universe, so Nana having puppet magic stems from her cultural and innate belief system. Objectively, a magic that is born for the use of control while having many hospitality uses ie her maids. Control through hospitality caused magic that allowed her to both control and be hospitable.

Also, a lot of my world building is based on the feral cat colony that lives in the alley way behind my house that we have slowly been domesticating and getting adopted.

honestly tho thats so real. I've based so much stuff off of my cat being a dumbass. mostly Zenix stuff, because i love my cat.

But i really like this actually, this is very cool. I love meif'wa lore in general, because i feel like there's so much potential. One of the downfalls of Aphverse is they don't delve enough into different cultures or anything, they just... meh

But i really love the little bit about magic. A culture of treating people well would likely be really popular, because you don't want people to grow up to develop 'killing you painfully' magic as a product of their/their parent's environment/stress. And like, in MyS era, corporations would have to have a basic level of decency for how they handle their employees, so the next gen of magic users gain magic useful for producing goods for corporations, as opposed to magic useful for killing exploitative bosses. And family-run businesses would likely be a lot more appreciated, because genetically inherited magic would boost the quality of the product.

starlet is such a mood ong, literally THE spoiled rich girl everyone wants to be. her tantrums are what i wish i could do when something doesn’t go my way but alas, i’m not rich and therefore have very real consequences 😔

anyways, this only further proves my headcanon that it take a specific personality or a lot of weed and other assorted drugs to deal with starlet if ur not a regular in her life. her parents have been dealing her all her life and are literally the reason she is the way she is so if they ever really had a problem with it they’d stare at a mirror and curse themselves but they love her too much to ever think that way. warren quite honestly doesn’t care cuz if he did he would either not be dating her or at least attempting to help fix her behavior but he loves her, spoiled and all, plus he can easily keep up with her lifestyle so its not like it matters much in the long run.

Ooo! And her and warren are so unaware of the shit that’s going on around them band-wise at least. like they could careless about the shit going on between everyone, all high and love drunk and unproblematic. obvi they still care but at the same time they’re too busy in their bubble of weed, sex, and love. i will say tho, when she’s not shooting something, she’s at the studio w/warren and if its one of those particularly shitty sessions with billy being a bitch and he aims it at warren she will start a fight. safe to say billy doesn’t like her much. her and daisy would get along good enough, she’ll invite daisy to get high with her and warren. tbh karen likes starlet but in small doses y’know? the vibes clash enough but leave them alone for a good while and ur fucked that’s just. starlet and graham also get along good (she were to date any other guy from the band it’d be him cuz he has that personality to deal with her everything). eddie’s in the same boat as billy, she doesn’t like him. her and cami would get along well too and for a while she’d be that aunt spoiling the shit out of julia.

I think the reason starlet did so many non commital relationships with costars is bc she's so picky and likes things in a specific way, everything gives her the ick, and with warren nothing he does gives her the ick bc she actually likes him 😭 but she def has a reputation on set, bc as kind and sweet as she is, she also is spoiled and not only does she have rich parents but also she's so talented that people just give in. she thinks a costume is ugly and refuses to wear it? they better make her a new one. she refuses to do an intimate scene bc she thinks the costar is a creep they'll either get a body double or cut the scene. and her hissy fits when she doesn't get a role she really wanted are absolutely collosal and her whole team absolutely will flood her with hugs and gifts to help her feel better and she's passive aggressive about the movie she didn't get into in interviews for the movie she is in, especially during awards season (her movie is the one that wins ofc)

as a kid her parents ONCE bought the wrong edition of something she asked for and five year old her threw the biggest tantrum and they never made that mistake again. she wanted a pony for christmas? she got one, and she got a riding instructor and her own stable and a little course, only for her parents to find out she didn't want to ride the pony, she just wanted to take care of it, and feed it, and brush it. they do disney trips multiple times a year. one time she said she wanted to cut meat out of her diet and so her parents immediately switched their entire diet to not include it, and all their meals, only for her to come home with a burger like a week later and casually shrug, "I just wanted one." and ofc they always threw her the biggest birthday parties, let her try anything she wanted too, and just do whatever she wanted. and with warren, whenever he mentions liking anything she is pulling a billion strings to get whatever he wants bc that's her man, who she loves. he thinks it's funny how everyone is scared of her reactions and will bend over backwards when she's really so sweet and cuddly and fun.

she changes her whole schedule to go on the tour with him bc she cannot be apart from him for that long and the band is like 😒 (specifically billy and eddie) but there she is with all her bags and tons of lipgloss. and yes, whenever billy is snappy at warren, starlet absolutely loses her shit at billy. she thinks eddie is whiny (ironic but good for her 😤) she thinks graham is adorable (and yeah if she were to date another member of the band it would be him) she thinks daisy is so cool and loves to do drugs with her and they're good friends (bc the museverse isn't the museverse if she isn't besties with daisy) and her and karen get along sometimes but starlet being a spoiled brat definitely makes her a lot to be around. and yes she always shows up with tons of gifts for julia and cami is so grateful and tells billy that yeah maybe starlet can be a lot but she is kind. (also everyone is annoyed bc starlet and warren fuck SO LOUD)

I don't think starlet has a lot of solid friends actually, mostly just friends she parties and does drugs and gossips with, but most people can't handle her. she has one friend group that is really close that was all over the tabloids for being that group of celebs (it's giving the paris hilton, britney spears, lindsay lohan era lmao)

I think they'd have a surprise pregnancy (don't know how it's a surprise bc they are always all over each other but wtvr) and starlet is terrified bc she's scared she'll have to give up her life, but warren is hyped, the band is over, and he knows they'll be good parents. I think the two are already married by then and have had plenty of pregnancy scares before but this one is real. and they end up having three kids, a girl, and two boys. all equally spoiled and they're the family that travels around everywhere and does just fun things together and are ofc the cool kind of embarrassing parents.

yes hello everyone now that next gen has concluded i have the mental bandwidth to plot for this event so here i am 🫶 i must admit i do not have any great ideas yet nor do i have any scenes in mind for them but i wanted to get a plot call up for joomi and @benayoung anyway! i also need more fresh threads for them in general so like this to plot and we'll figure something out one way or another 💓 i'll go into more detail on how the gang is feelin about the event below the cut, and also use this post as a tracker like i usually do for events!

joomi isn't so sure about all this...he definitely sees the benefit in learning more about acting it is just Not Really His Thing...i think he will be interested in how to turn books and webtoons into scripts tho! and light and camera work. he's gonna do his best and he might actually be decent at acting once he gets over the initial awkwardness. which might take a while LMAO it's hard for him to loosen up most of the time and this will be no different. he's like. a Creative Vision guy though, so he gets the role acting plays he'd just rather...be the producer than the actor honestly. so maybe he can come up with an original scene/story to act out w someone for fun opposed to working on a scene from the list supplied by the coaches. idk!

I never see a ton (any?) fics exploring Din and Boba’s friendship and only that. Like, my blog IS the horny corner. Friendship fluff ain’t my usual reblogs but fuck it’s also like amazing??? Idk I just think Din and Boba and Cobb deserve to have time to be just guys being dudes and bonding. (I do love me some DinCobb tho don’t get me wrong) anyway, nothing specific other than learning more about how you see their friendship? They obvs respect each other and trust each other. I bet they have a lot of weird inside jokes.

Beskar Buddies [Mando and Boba Fett]

Warnings and Information: Not a relationship fic. This is just a silly, not-taking-itself-too-seriously friendship fic for Boba and Din Djarin. References to canon-typical violence, drugs (spice), alcohol, and some events from both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Minor Star Wars and real-world swearing. We're gonna make fun of Shiny Dad who doesn't know he's in Star Wars just a little bit. Din's helmet stays on. Narrative and stylistic use of italics. Minor proofreading and editing.

He's supposed to be here on Tatooine for a simple bounty - it's really nothing more than a glorified errand run for some spoiled little princeling who insists on only the finest Sansanna spice from the Outer Rim. But the princeling doesn't need to know that; he'll be allowed to believe that it was necessary to spend as much time as was desired for Din Djarin to acquire enough Sansanna for this young man's birthday celebration hosted on one of the Core Worlds,  if it means Din can cleverly lighten those pockets by a few more credits in order to provide for himself and the little one a little more comfortably, even if just for a while. 

Din only meant to spend an extra day here at most before collecting the requested goods and taking them back to his client. But when word made its way to the new Daimyo, and he knew that it would, that another who clads himself in the armor typical to Mandalorians is sniffing around Mos Espa, how could he refuse the request from the Master Assassin and second-in-command to pay a visit. 

"Shand." he greets her once he's calmed the slight tremor of his heart after being taken by surprise in an alleyway in the Worker's District of Espa, and reholsters the IB-94. "I didn't expect to run into you here. Conducting business on behalf of the Daimyo?" 

"Greet every woman that way?" Fennec Shand teases him with an indicative toss of her head to the holster. "Or am I just special?" 

"You surprised me." Din admits, repeating himself that he didn't expect to run into her by this point. He knows Boba is a busy man with a syndicate to operate, and what he cannot oversee himself, he often delegates the task to the bounty hunter standing in front of Din now. 

"Good. Means I'm not losing my edge." Fennec answers, a playful purr of pride in her voice. "Serves the Daimyo well if I can maintain the element of surprise when I am tasked to carry out his bidding on a busy man's behalf. To extend an invitation of sorts: Lord Fett would like an audience with you." 

"Very well." Din agrees, playing into the façade of formality - all part of the performance of power and command that is carried out in the halls of the Palace on the fringes of the Northern Dune Sea. He relays a short message to Peli Motto over in Mos Eisley that his return for Grogu may be a little delayed, first, for peace of mind, before Din will follow Shand back to the Palace. "Lead the way." 

Boba Fett dismisses the people within the throne room of the Palace - likely members who serve as part of the gotra or those who had come to pay tributes or give offerings of sorts to one of Espa's influential figureheads - as Fennec returns with Din as she had been asked. 

He wears his armor and (most of) his notable weaponry while seated on the throne, save for the cool, dark green helmet which sits neatly on the armrest. Displayed, rather than worn, now. "I hoped she would find you. I asked if she could extend my invitation once I heard there was someone who did not tell me he would be paying the fair city of Mos Espa a visit." Fett is teasing him, he knows, but Din cannot help feeling the need to apologize regardless of that. There are only chuckles in return as Boba climbs from the lordly seating and moves to greet Din like an old friend. 

Warm and calloused hands find their way around the other's wrist as Din and Boba first behave as if it is a simple handshake, but remain linked for some time. Old and ancient ways of checking strangers for weapons have turned to displays of trust. The longer the link, the stronger a bond, some would say. 

There both is warmth and a mischievous glint to his eyes as Boba visually takes him in, almost inspecting the gleaming beskar for imperfection or pitting that would speak to a scuffle of sorts that might make for a good story, "Your armor gleams in the light of the twin suns, Djarin, of course someone will notice you trying to skulk about my territory. Are you looking for work?" Boba had offered him payment for a place at his side once. He believed the Mandalorian to be a respectable and trustworthy fellow; Boba would gladly extend the invitation for a stable occupation once more. 

Din shakes his head, slowly, calmly, in the dim light of the throne room. He's not looking for work, he explains, he is working. "Product for a client. Princeling who wants a small crate of Sansanna spice for a party before next Taungsday. Specified that he wanted it from Tatooine of all places." 

That explains what brought him here to the planet, at least. 

"And why come to Espa to look?" Boba asks politely, keeping the conversation flowing as he pours himself and his friend something from a carafe he's kept on hand. One that Fennec is partial to, so he is sure to offer some to her as well as a silent expression of gratitude. Asking the Mandalorian to come to the palace and entertain a silly notion was a long shot when he has a foundling in his care, so Boba had cautioned Fennec that in the event he did not agree to come, it would be of no consequence. (He would prefer what's in the decanter, but he has yet to procure more, so it is untouched as it would not be enough to split among three.) "There is not much to find of the Sansanna that once belonged to the Pyke's before it was… misplaced." Boba suggests with a mirthful smile. 

"I wouldn't have come asking the mighty Daimyo first," Din retorts after a polite sip from his glass of the contents of the carafe, replacing his helmet that had been inched just high enough on his head to drink and resetting the seal, "that wouldn't have been good business, for you, or me." 

"No indeed." Boba agrees, appreciative of Din's caution given his reason for being here. Din knew to act in just the right way; ways that would not tarnish a carefully crafted image Boba had made for himself since putting an end to Bib Fortuna and laying claim to all that was once Jabba's. "Did you tell your client how long it would take?" 

Din's helmet bobs. "I did." 

"And did you tell this princeling how long it would actually take?" 

The helmet remains still, but the mouth within it must have found an upward curve as the bounty hunter implies that he was not quite so honest with his client. "It might have slipped my mind." 

Boba chuckles, almost proudly. An old trick of the trade: mislead the right clients on the right details, and you can earn yourself a few more credits. Live a little more comfortably for a time if you wanted. 

While Din could be a uniquely honest and humble bounty hunter at times, he was still a bounty hunter. Clever, resourceful, and cunning. Just the sort of thing he was looking for. "Well, I'm certain a crate or two will turn up to take back to this princeling in the morning, and he'll pay you handsomely for the spice brought in from rugged lands to boast at his party, my friend." he suggests promisingly to Din, patting the shoulder-bell that bares the profile of the Mudhorn as he leads him from the throne room, and into other areas of the palace before he lays out why he invited the Mandalorian to come. "In the meantime, I'd like you to come with me. Out beyond Espa." 

The low hum in his throat before he speaks suggests Din feels hesitant or uncertain about this idea. "Where? And why?" 

"Call it something of an impulse; I have my business to attend to here in Mos Espa as the Daimyo of course, but recently I dreamed of camping under the stars, out in the desert - " Boba answers, bringing Din to an inner chamber that is guarded at all times, where once they have passed the guards, he shows to Din two crates of spice that are contained within a vault, " - and I have not been able to shake myself of the notion since. Could I convince you to join me, my friend?" 

Din understands that the spice is being used to sweeten him to the idea of sleeping out in the sand-sprawling seas of this arid planet, where temperatures can drop dramatically within a few hours of the suns' setting, here. Even if he declined, Din Djarin doesn't believe the spice would be withheld now when it was already offered to him. 

"Why not take Shand?" he asks curiously. "Or will she be staying here at the Palace to keep an eye on things in your absence?"

"I did ask Fennec, as a matter of fact," Boba replies with a bemused expression, carefully denoting the crates with one of the guards for a moment, "and she wasn't too keen to the idea the same way I am. And, yes, she has said that if I do this she would remain with the Palace to oversee matters, should anything happen tonight." 

So it appears that Boba wants to entertain this fantasy tonight. Not just "some time in the future", but now. That in and of itself isn't surprising, but Din hesitates for one reason. 

One curiosity has been sated. Another remains. "And if I don't know how I feel about the idea? I have a friend watching Grogu for me in Mos Eisley, and I didn't make any mention that I would be leaving him with them past nightfall at the latest." 

Boba seems to give something a little thought before he asks "And who is this friend?" 

"Peli Motto." Fennec replies from the threshold, watching the two men with a cool gaze that many would perhaps find intimidating if not for a simple smile. "I did a little digging while you boys were having your fun in the vault. She's a simple mechanic." 

"A good mechanic." Din finds himself insisting. He's not at all surprised that the second-in-command to the Daimyo had recalled the frequency to and found some way to find information on Peli, but calling her a simple mechanic felt like an insult to her character and he would not let it slide so easily. 

"And are you paying this good mechanic to watch the little one for you?" Boba wonders. "If you are worried about giving her adequate payment for minding your foundling, don't. I would gladly help you settle it with Ms. Motto." 

It takes a moment to explain that Peli will need to mind Grogu for him overnight, but Din promises to explain why in the morning. "I need you to watch Grogu for me until the morning. Something came up." 

Peli sounds worried. "Trouble?"

"Only if we make it…" Boba chuckles to himself in the background, and Fennec warns him to behave in a way that suggests this is not the first, nor the last time, she's heard him make self-entertaining remarks like this. 

"What was that? You say something, Mando?" 

Din dodges the question with some redirection. "No trouble; I just need to spend a little extra time in Mos Espa. I can explain when I come for Grogu." He hears the way the little one perks up at the sound of his name, a bright, cooing sort of noise. Peli must have pulled him closer to the receiver, because the next time he coos and babbles inquisitively, the sound is sharper, louder, but no less sweet. 

"Ha-bah?" 

"Grogu, can you behave for Peli for me tonight? I'll be back early in the morning, I promise." 

Boba makes no further jokes or commentary in the background while allowing Din to speak to Grogu until he is satisfied that the little one understands Din will not be back tonight, but he will be back soon. Phrasing and re-phrasing his brief explanation until with a little help from Peli, the diminutive, green lifeform seemingly makes sounds of understanding.

He can imagine the way Jango would similarly caution him and repeat himself in preparation for his absences when he was perhaps too young to accompany his father on a bounty. These are memories from so long ago, now, to Boba. At least, they feel that way. He's only entering his forties, he reminds himself. Slightly older than Din, to his belief. 

But roughly similar enough in age that neither of them feels any need to take separate materials for temporary shelters. Old enough and mature enough to tolerate the shared arrangement for a single night under a canopy of stars on a bed of sand where they would lay their sleeping sacks. Din has offered to start a modest fire since Fett insists he can pitch the tent on his own. He certainly sees the influence of the Tuskens that Boba spent time with after surviving a sarlacc pit in the shelter's construction once it is firmly staked in place. 

"Sturdy." 

Boba nods acceptively of the compliment, settling himself beside the fire across from Din. "I learned much in my time with the tribe of Tuskens that cared for me like one of their own before I became the Daimyo. They didn't teach me everything, but you can still learn by watching and observing." 

There's a knowing chuckle before the dark t-visor turns and looks off into a rather deliberate direction for just a moment. Freetown. They're not too far from Vanth's community, as it turns out. "Wondering how the sheriff's doing; will we need to pay a visit in the morning?" he offers half-questioningly to Din, trying to gauge and guess what is on the mind of the man clad in beskar before him. 

"Tempting. But perhaps another time." Din replies, beginning to remove a select few parts of his armor to make himself more comfortable. He did not opt to leave it behind in favor of more appropriate desert-wear, even when offered. Fett reasoned that much like his own armor, once belonging to his father in his case, the armor made of beskar carried its own significance to Din beyond a protective shell. 

"Feeling guilty for leaving the little one, again?" 

His companion shakes his head in answer as he carefully sets aside what he's removed. "Not quite. Just eager to complete this bounty and lay low for a time." 

"Smart. Have somewhere in mind?" 

"Yes." is all Din will answer. And wisely so. Telling Fett where he plans on going would defeat the entire purpose, no matter how much they each trust and respect each other. Because they do, a simple word is all the Mandalorian glowing in the light of the fire will find necessary to say. 

"Good. I wish you uneventful times when you make it there, my friend." 

They listen to the stillness of the desert together following Fett's sincere wish for Din and Grogu's safety; the crackle and muted roar of the fire, distant and slow gusts of wind, and once off in the greater distance, bantha. The deep bellows of the omnivorous quadrupeds were a strange comfort as the two men listened. 

"Have you ever ridden a bantha?" Din asks, noting the nostalgic smile evident on the other's face. The smile broadens as Boba answers. "I have. There was a bantha I once had for a mount, I think of them from time to time." 

The helmet tilts to the right with mild concern or surprise. "What happened to it?" 

"Oh, nothing bad," Boba assures his friend, giving a singular chuckle as he stokes the flame a little higher, "I simply set them free before I reclaimed my ship. Hopefully they are out there now, meeting other banthas and making baby banthas." 

"Heh. I see. Is that the strangest thing you've ever ridden that isn't a speederbike?" Din asks with a laugh, once more turning his head out to look beyond the light of the fire into the desert. Perhaps with his sensors, he could find these distant herds of wild or domesticated bantha

"That would be a rancor." 

"You're joking." 

"I'm not." Boba laughs with some insistence. "And what about you, my friend? Find a mythosaur to ride, yet?" 

"Funny… " Din replies somewhat slowly, "...there was an Ugnaught named Kuiil who claimed it should have been easy for me to learn to ride Blurrg because of my 'ancestors' who rode mythosaurs when he was trying to teach me." He grows quiet, and his body language becomes a lot less casual, less open and fluid. "I haven't thought about his remark in a while." Din admits somberly. His companion, the man who invited him for a night in the desert, under the stars, doesn't press him for anything more to say for a moment, letting the silence grow. 

"You've been busy." Boba reasons with him only when he is certain Din doesn't have anything to add. "Traveling the galaxy, collecting bounties… All while you care for the little one." The words don't seem to bring him any comfort. If anything, Boba suspects he's said the wrong thing. "Was he a friend?"

"Yes. Killed by Imperial scout troopers." 

"I am sorry, Djarin," he sympathizes, for a moment thinking to lay his hand on the other's shoulder in a gesture of comfort were Boba sitting beside him rather than across the fire. "To lose those we care for is no easy thing." 

The Mandalorian scoffs and, jokingly, asks Boba if he's certain he's as old as he claims. "You sound and look older." 

"Well, the profession ages you. And I imagine there are still a scattered few, somewhere out there, that would look just like me. Maybe even older." This is the second time Din does not seem to understand what he means judging by his silence. "Surely you've seen them. Heard about them at least, the clones?" Boba inquires, growing increasingly more confused by the lack of apparent understanding as the t-visor slowly wags in the firelight. 

"Djarin." 

The fire is smothered out with sand following the conclusion of something of a pseudo history lesson once Boba feels he's adequately explained to Din what exactly Clone troopers are. Were. (Maybe still are? Truly, he's not certain how many men who look just like him and sound just like him remain in the galaxy.) The sand is stamped down for good measure before both men enter the tent for the first time since it had been put up and prepare to sleep. The night grows stiller and serene in a way that is entirely unique to Tatooine. 

The desert planet is not for the weak-willed and those who will not be prepared to adapt. If you traversed the Dune Seas, you had different tribes of nomadic Tuskens to contend with (and hope they would let you pass through their lands in peace for small tributes), or the wild animals that were not as docile as the bantha that called this planet home. It took grit and gumption, or no small amount of necessary self preservation skills, to live in places such as Mos Espa and Eisley where you would expect to find yourself brushing shoulders with bounty hunters and crime families. Things could get messy. 

Boba Fett and Din Djarin are no strangers to the grime and filthier aspects of what the galaxy has to offer them. Bloodshed and banthashit that would make weaker men stumble and turn away from such a profession far sooner. Sacrifices and difficult choices have been made in each of their lives. 

Tonight didn't have to be one of them. A night of simple company and some time to catch up with a friend was a welcome change for both. Boots are carefully removed before each slip into their sleeping sacks after simple ration packs are eaten in silence - backs turned to one another even in the dark - and wrappers have been taken care of. 

"We'll start our return to the palace before first light," Boba explains, "that way you can return to Mos Eisley for Grogu before Ms. Motto would begin her workday after you've secured the spice for the princeling." 

There is a soft laugh under the modulator to his left, where he can make out the general form of his friend's body beside him and sees he's already laying down. "Thank you. Hopefully he will have slept well when I retrieve him." 

He certainly hopes the little one will too, for Din's sake, with a laugh. "I have not forgotten my offer to pay Ms. Motto either. And thank you, my friend, for entertaining this idea with me." 

"Anything for the mighty Daimyo of Mos Espa." he says in all seriousness he can muster for the moment. He can't maintain the composure for long, and thankfully it's Fett who laughs first, the two of them free to laugh as loud as they would like when it's just the two of them out here for miles as far as anyone would be concerned. 

Free to spend as much time as they would like "winding down" and talking in low, golden tones until they come to realize it is coming up on first light, and they have spent the whole night in conversation without meaning to. 

At least it may not be just Grogu who has not gotten any sleep tonight, they joke together as they come up on the palace, and Boba gives Din what he was promised. Two crates of Sansanna spice to carve a deeper hole in the pockets of his client, and many words of thanks from Boba follow after Din as he secures some transport to Mos Eisley. "Safe travels, my friend. Remember-" 

"Oh I will." Din replies with a mischievous inflection, giving Fennec Shand reason to pause and consider what unfinished communication is unfolding before her as both men, Fett once more clad in his own armor in order to properly send the Mandalorian off before assuming his seat at the throne for the day. "I take it you now have… inside jokes." she grins. 

"Maybe." each reply in tandem. 

Boba smiles, nodding to Din. "Or-" 

"-Reminding me to get a little more sleep once I'm in a hyperspace lane." Din concludes, bidding them farewell once again. He was eager to return to Grogu, and Din could only hope the little one had gotten some sleep. But if he hadn't, then perhaps they would be napping together as they navigated hyperspace. It would certainly not be the first time Din would potentially need to doze off when he could when traveling with a child, or at least daydream while looking at the view from the cockpit of his ship. 

Nor will it be the last. Hopefully the same could be said for another opportunity to present itself for nights like last where Boba Fett and Din Djarin could simply spend time with a trusted friend.

Note from Frost: The title was a placeholder name, but then it grew on me; I'm callin' them the Beskar Buddies from now on. Ideas also changed direction on me in the course of writing, so apologies for the lack of Cobb in the end. :( I have not written anything for one of my first major Star Wars crushes in a long, long time. Probably since I was 16? Poor Boba. So this was a delight, and I had a lot of fun writing it. Thank you for making the request!

i used to be good at it. then i got stressed bc of school. and then i was suddenly like "uhhhh idk How to respond???" i think the thing that got me was i didn't know how to reply to the distressed comments on my sokka falling fic so i just. accidentally stopped.

this was hard, but imma go with i was a child and she was a child bc it's based on one of my favorite childhood memories! rip to zuko and his ice cream tho :/ but azula is VIBING the whole time oiuygfcgyhuij

not really? i did once have someone try to correct me and say that i wrote sokka with ocd instead of tourette's but it was in the bookmarks and it made me laugh lol. i also got this comment on my kubokai kaidou with ts fic: ".. the self projection is heavy in this one ... -_-" so idk if that counts lol

uhhhh not really? i wrote ninjago equestria girls crossover oneshot in middle school but i never finished it and it SUCKED lol

uhhh i wrote a 7,600 word fic in three hours while i had covid? that's prolly the shortest? i count that as shorter than anything i may have finished faster bc i had covid lol but longest? ummmm over a year? multiple years? idkkkkkk the jay with ts fic i posted was something i wrote in 2019 and i edited it (a lot) and posted it in 2022 so??? that maybe?

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

uhhh i did with friends in middle/high school, but those never left the docs! also grace and i have. very many much so aus lol

14. what's your all-time favorite ship? from all fandoms?

RARIJACK!!! it was one of my first hardcore ships, and also was my introduction to queer ships!!! renga is a close second, but rarijack just is really important and special to me for sentimental reasons that put it above renga and others! i am also on a seroroki kick right now. it's not my all-time favorite, but the brain rot seems never ending right now lol

15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

GOD SO MANY i have a folder in gdocs just for ninjago fics and there are folders within the folder for different types of wips i'll never finish - i have That many: "no substance", "baby girls", "drafts"... etc...

16. what are your writing strengths?

uhhhhhhhhhh ngl i'm in a place right now where i feel like the answer is Nothing (writer's block has been Bad recently), but i think something i'm good at in a very specific way is making readers feel the discomfort of characters? like idk i've been told that the way i write ts and tics (specifically tic attacks) makes the readers feel uncomfortable in like a "wow i didn't know it felt this way" kind of way??? i like to think i'm good at characterization??? idkkkk

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

ummm setting and scenery & connecting parts of a story, especially if they're parts that i'm stuck on/transitions are prolly my biggest ones???

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i mean go for it as long as it's respectful and like... you tried making sure it's accurate?

19. first fandom you wrote for?

uhh rainbow fairy/a-z mysteries... but that was like very briefly on paper. first time like... for Realsies was ninjago

20. favorite fic you've written?

oh 100% hey, little songbird, give me a song. it's just really special to me and writing it helped me cope with a new tic i had. but one that i wrote more recently is fantasies i'm not sure that i'm worthy of which is a ritsu-centric fic and is prolly tied as my favorite fic i wrote in 2023. the other one would be sun comes streaming through the window (& i can't sleep anymore) which is my 21k word kenji-centric fic lol but that one is like... i'm more proud of it than anything, which is what puts it up there.

Chapter 5: Something in the Air

Shuuji knows something is amiss when he catches Syakomon let out an almost imperceptible sigh of relief. He’s lucky that the viscous surface of Syakomon’s slimy green body betrays her—the quiver of the otherwise silent exhale sends a faint, wobbly shockwave across her skin, and she jiggles ever so slightly in her shell, as though somebody’s just set down a cautious bowl of lime-flavored jello.

Supposedly, the worst is over, but Shuuji can't shake the feeling that there's something the Kemonogami aren't telling him.

oh BOY the editing situation was a doozy. granted, i was also busy with work, but even then this chapter needed a TON of reworking, much much more than chapter 4 did. like i said on ao3, it got to the point where this chapter was so long that i had to split it in two.

i also mentioned that this chapter marks the beginning of the second half of this fic. chapters 1-4 make up part one, which i'd summarize as "how did we get here?", and then from 5-8, the focus will be "what happens next?". it helped a LOT to recontextualize chapters 5-7 (now 5-8) as an answer to chapters 1-4, and i think it'll make editing easier going forward; i have much more direction now and a better idea of what needs to be expanded on and what needs to be cut.

unfortunately, like i said, i had to omit a lot of saki-centric stuff. she is the scariest character for me to write, and i think i need to progress more thru my replay of truthful before i feel confident enough to write from her perspective. it works out anyway, because the part i cut had shuuji taking a very passive role and just observing interactions between saki and floramon, and it felt very drawn-out and unnecessary. this is my favorite cut segment tho

im really hoping to be able to figure out what an aoi-miu-saki dynamic looks like as i get more comfortable writing the three of them. i think it could be really fun. also i think it would be so funny if miu and saki bring out a mischievous side of aoi that would otherwise not exist. much to think about.

anyway. another challenge i had with editing this chapter was the topography of the beach area the group hangs out at before moving on to the shopping district and apartment complex. for some reason i was convinced the rocky beach area was like.. up on a cliffside? but then i looked at the map and got REAL confused. the beach is super super narrow, and that was really inconvenient when i needed shuuji to be somewhere relatively out of the way, where he could have a conversation with agumon that takuma cannot hear, while still being able to see takuma. so thats why i spent an hour and change squinting at the tiniest png of the map and reorganizing where people spend their time

i didnt make many changes; mostly i just moved people around. the one thing that i DID change though was the placement of the waterway entrance. i have NO IDEA why the game has it in the middle of the fucking ocean. like i know theres a tunnel there, but surely the entrance to that tunnel isn't underwater right? i then poured another hour and change learning about waterways, trying to figure out where it made the most sense to put the exit before remembering that it doesn't matter because the digital world doesn't play by human world rules. oops! it was still super interesting though! please look up 'tokyo g-cans' if you ever get the chance, its fucking fascinating. if i ever go back to japan id like to go down there, maybe.

the shopping district/apartment complex is visible from the beach but i feel like it shouldn't be: on the map it looks like it's on a cliff face while from the beach it looks like it's shore level

i've been reading half the green patches as dense tree cover but now that i think about it, that might just be open grassland. oops. it's all trees now.

i wish we could go to the sandy beach areas to the north and east ends of the island!!! that could've been fun!

in other news, agumon was much easier to write than i was worried he would be, and it was nice to work out how he felt about what happened in the waterway. one thing ive noticed about agumon on a second truthful run is that he and takuma are equally awful about pushing down their own feelings for the sake of the ones of their friends. a lot of the others seem to view agumon as the guy who is always Staying Silly , no thoughts head empty. while i DO think that that's a genuine part of his personality, i think it also happens sometimes that he uses that image to downplay his concerns.

my favorite part to write this chapter was labramon's dialogue at the end. and also baby stats. baby stats was the ONE THING i REFUSED to cut. non-negotiable. it's been in my notes since the beginning and digimon survived all edits of this chapter, and i was DETERMINED to keep it.

Hey there! Just wanted to say that your art is really nice (a friend of mine enjoys TDI) and that I appreciate you uploading Ponder Sprocket's streams (as someone who watches/listens to her stuff every so often).

I also have a tiny question for you: I don't know if you're aware of all of the controversies associated with Lio Convoy and the Senate/Cat's Lair (I've heard about them in passing but I can safely confirm that the whole thing is an utter mess, which makes me glad that I don't hang in those circles TBH). B/Ponder unfortunately got dragged into some of these controversies. IF you are aware of them and/or are comfortable with answering (please don't stress if not), I was wondering if you (A) had any thoughts on B's involvement in this and/or (B) have streams downloaded where she talked about it.

My personal thoughts on B's involvement in this (feel free to disagree with me on this): Given factors like her mental health, part of me has been concerned that this situation is - to some extent - a repeat of what happened with the Feghost situation (B being manipulated/controlled/lied to by someone else). Kudos to her for confronting Lio and others during the Rosa Rey Ramsey call (if you know, you know) tho. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Akumu (one of Lio's biggest critics who - for readers who don't know - spread misinformation that B corrected about the whole Madame debacle back in 2019) decided to slander B a few times just to get back at her, showing to me that he clearly has not changed.

2) I'm somewhat aware of the Lio Convoy and Senate stuff. I was subscribed to Lio for a short time before everything basically fell apart, and I'm currently following him on Twitter, where he will occasionally bring up his controversies and where people comment about it under his other posts that have nothing to do with his controversies, mostly just to see if there are any updates to the situation. But I mostly avoid it because the situation gives me anxiety (even though I have no involvement in it whatsoever); I'll look at some of the stuff coming out about it, but not very often. All the stuff happening is actually part of the reason I wrote out the VODs channel update, besides all the stuff happening in my real life.

My thoughts on B being involved: I really don't think B should have to get involved at all. This situation - based on what I know - has little to nothing to do with her. She has made videos with Lio, as Lio has with her, but that's basically all they have to do with each other. Essentially, they knew each other, and now B has to deal with whatever he's dealing with because they worked together in the past. I think that's stupid. If she wants to get involved, then whatever, but from what I know, people kinda immediately assumed she was either going to talk about it (regardless of it not really being her business) or was going to make a video on it (despite knowing she takes months to make videos and that she's trying to move away from this stuff).

VODs: I don't think B has streamed at all since this whole situation blew up. Not because of this situation, but because I think she's taking a break from streaming in general? I'm not sure. I just know that it's been a while since I downloaded a stream. I'm hoping it's because she's actually taking a break and not because she's stressing out. (Edit: Just checked. The last time she was live - according to Twitch - was May 16th. So if she has said anything about this, then it's through Twitter or YouTube comments, most likely.)

The next part is just me responding to your thoughts.

With the FCK stuff that happened before people began to more harshly criticize Lio for the Rosa call (which I think I have watched some of), B's probably under a whole lot of friend and co-worker-related stress right now. (I know for a fact that NezzieMonster is under a lot of scrutiny for it right now, but I'm not totally sure about others she was close with or worked with in the past. I'll watch a video about it soon.) Then there's DoodleTones leaving YouTube (at least for now). She's probably getting a lot of comments about this stuff, too, because people want to hear about what she has to say about everything that's going on with said people and if she's still going to stay acquainted with them.

I have been seeing Akumu everywhere. I know for a fact that he doesn't like anyone in the art commentary community, which I can kind of understand to a point (I mean, if you had a video made against you, regardless if either of you was in the right or not, and then people - who barely understand the situation more than you did as a teenager - started harassing you for it, you would probably start to dislike that community as well). But at a certain point, it just looks like he's dancing on the graves of anyone involved with the ACC. I don't really like him purely because he acts higher than thou and is kind of obnoxious, in my opinion, like... it feels like he just has to be right, so he just keeps on pushing. Plus, I just kinda don't like the edgy thing he does where he pictures his persona with a noose around the neck.

I will say he has been doing a lot about the FCK stuff. I'm not sure if the victims are aware of his videos or if they're to their liking, but I haven't seen the victims say anything bad about the videos, so... I don't think he has slandered B, and I don't think he has tried to, but he does seem to nitpick a lot of what she has said in previous videos.

I'm tired while writing this out, so I hope you get what I'm saying lol. Looking at everything going down is stressful and anxiety-inducing, and I can only imagine what it's like for the people involved. I'll try to get to uploading more VODs soon; I am so far behind lmao

OC "Couple" Questions - OVDW Edition

For a quick introduction, the left one (brunette) is Oliver, an archdemon who works as a general officer with anxiety issues and one child. The right one (blonde) is Dewangga, a cherub and a priest, yet he acts like the Devil himself (i.e., killing demons and all). Their dynamic is like mutual pining between "awkward big guy" x "violent smaller guy", though personally I like simply calling them police x (whore) ustaz or crocodile x eagle or DEEP AND HOLIC

Also, the child is actually THEIR secret daughter together, but only Oliver takes care of her cuz Dewangga abandoned his responsibilities as a father by force. Though, he's still at fault here.

Questions are made by Hershel Deercliff. I'll put the image below the cut. Original thread on Twitter (in Indonesian), dated 3rd February 2024.

1. "What were their first impressions of each other?"

Oliver thinks Dewangga is weird and too extreme because he believes himself to be the most "rightful" one and that his actions of massacring demons can be justified just because he's an angel. While Dewangga himself mocks the demon for holding himself back against him or that he's not that serious about catching his ass for committing crimes, and being so meek despite being of a high rank. The cherub doesn't just hate demons, he DESPISES all demons, including Oliver, even if he looks handsome!!

But they had actually met earlier, right before finally running up to each other again and fighting after Dewangga committed his act. The point is, Oliver was confused as to how an angel could be stumbling onto the bushes on the border of the Underworld and Overworld 😂 He was just patrolling around the area, minding his own business, until he found someone falling upside down with his ass upwards.

Dewangga was, of course, embarrassed as HELL because he was caught trespassing and even got his ass stared at by a 1 RANK AND FIVE STARS ARCHDEMON, definitely not the demon he expected to meet right off the bat, whereas his position was very promising right. They bickered for a moment before Dewangga finally ran away (or maybe more accurately, flew away) lmao

2. "Is it a casual relationship or true love? Or somewhere in between?"

Unlabeled relationship????? They started out as enemies THEN turned into enemies with benefits tho... I don't know I'm not an expert at love??

3. "What was each of them's 'oh shit I have feelings for them' moment?"

Do they even realize? At least they realized it after they got separated for good. But what's more to do because they're an angel and a demon, so naturally they can't be together...

4. "Did either of them fight their feelings, or was it easy to accept?"

Dewangga hates himself and doesn't want to accept that he has let himself be carried away by lust, even to the point of throwing away his precious daughter (because she's still an illegitimate child and a literal abomination no matter how you view it). He's an angel, he should've dismissed his strange affection towards Oliver and returned to the right path, but in the end, he really regrets everything like why did he let this happen, why that, etc. He's afraid of what Agares, the other angels, or even Oliver himself would say if they found out that he... uhhh laid a fertilized egg? Besically he's in denial

On the other hand, Oliver is also aware that their relationship is taboo and that it won't be possible because they're from different species (?). Not only that, he's afraid that Dewangga's chastity would be "tainted" if a demon like him keeps hanging around with an angel, and even though he actually loves (and is curious about) him, Oliver feels that they're better off apart for good… even though he knows that they should talk about everything that has happened, like their child and all.

5. "When was their first "I love you"? What prompted it? If neither has said it yet, why?"

Nope. Both of them are afraid of what their relationship will be like in the future and what others will say about them, plus Dewangga doesn't want to be unfaithful to Agares just because he loves a demon but what I want to say is FUC—

6. "WHO'S THE BIG SPOON WHO'S THE LITTLE SPOON TELL ME NOW!!!!!"

Dewangga is the big spoon, Oliver's the little spoon cuz it fits their personality more 😂

7. "What was the biggest obstacle to their relationship?"

Their own selves, of course. They are a pair of an angel and a demon, their goals are different, and their natures are also different. It just goes against God's "teachings", apparently.

I think it's interesting how they're always on different grounds, no matter how much they yearn for each other and no matter how many universes they've passed through... by that I also mean in AUs. They are cursed with the star-crossed lovers trope 😭

8. "What drew them to each other the most?"

Oliver is attracted by Dewangga's fortitude in carrying out his duties even though he is a huge fanatic and his method of execution is very questionable. While Dewangga likes his touch (iykwim), plus Oliver is handsome. Of course he didn't like it at first, but after a while he thinks that Oliver is not like the other demons ahahay

Basically they're just like magnets, attracted to each other yet they can never be together simply because they're from opposing sides and of the same sex, although being gay doesn't really matter in this universe. My man god made the afterlife world gay because the original human world didn't allow him to be gay

Oh, and they are actually drawn to each other because they feel a strange sense of familiarity, as if they have encountered each other before. Oliver realizes who Dewangga is sooner or later, but Dewangga doesn't recall who Oliver is. Spoiler alert: turns out that Dewangga is actually Oliver's long-dead ex-crush (Eda) who got the chance for redemption and to live again but as an angel. As a result, he doesn't remember or even know that he had a life in the Underworld and met Oliver before. Reincarnation? Maybe? But even though Dewangga doesn't consciously remember anything, his body still remembers Oliver's touch AND YES you may take it however you want

It's not like Dewangga's memories are wiped or anything. Those memories of him as Eda in the past belong to Eda only. Basically Dewangga is like a new creature but made with Eda's traumas or core or something, Idk. Does he still count as Eda? But still, Dewangga is Dewangga, Eda is Eda and he's only a being from the distant past...

9. "How long did they know each other before developing feelings?"

IDK????? I NEVER COUNTED IT???? 😭😭😭

Maybe at least 1~3 years (on Earth or the universe's Human World's date)? But if you count it from when Oliver first met Eda, well it was long ago man, don't ask me this I don't even know

10. "What's each other's favorite quality about the other?"

Oliver likes Dewangga who always stands up to his beliefs, has an unwavering will to fulfill his duties in the name of God, and is confident.

Dewangga likes how kind and understanding Oliver is, even though he is a demon, capslock ARCHDEMON even, yet he is a soft boy. He also thinks that Oliver's behavior is like a puppy. He really likes dogs. Do crocodiles count as dogs?

Also I was having some more thoughts about borrower Emi again after I saw that art, so I guess here's a part two to that. :)

So after they run into each other she still keeps her distance and they aren't exactly friends at first, though she chooses to stay as she reluctantly decides to trust him.

Eventually though she needs more paper and pencil lead, but she's scared of being caught in the act again. So, being more scared of angering him, she opens up and asks him directly and of course Mob is happy to provide. She's really embarrassed to share her writing with him until she realizes that she can learn a lot more words from him, then she kind of blurts it out and Mob lets her use his dictionary and helps translate some words (even though he himself isn't the best at kanji lol) They then officially become friends somewhere along the way.

She knows he probably can't see her little writing but she lets him try regardless and after like a minute of hesitation where Mob is silently squinting at this tiny little piece of paper that he's holding so so gently between his fingers he just goes "yeah. I can't read that. 😥"

So instead she tries reading her stories aloud to him, and she's very surprised and embarrassed whenever he compliments her writing. She jokingly, though it isn't really a joke, confesses at one point that she feels kind of inferior next to him and she isn't sure why he really pays attention to her at all, to which Mob immediately objects and tells her she is definitely worth listening to and she gets all flustered and, if we're taking this down the true emimob route, later she's thinking to herself "Is he flirting with me??? Why do I think he's flirting with me of course he's not??? wait do I want him to flirt with me? DO I HAVE A CRUSH ON A HUMAN???!!!"

AAUGH I'M DYING OF CUTENESS AND THIS IS MY OWN IDEA!!! I swear I'm gonna crack someday and start working on this idea instead ghejfjjtjfjrjrjrhxeujdhe 😭

Also! As for an update tbh these first two months have not been a great habitat for writing. I was super busy with college and that coupled with some writer's block meant I kinda left it hanging for a while there :/

BUT! My writer's block finally broke and I'm less busy now, so I'm finally picking the story back up again and I'm having a lot of fun with it again! Since my last update my chapter count has now increased to three because I've added a prologue, which I've been working on a lot since I've picked the story back up.

Heyyyy, cryptic pregnancy anon here again! I just wanted to say you were right; there’s no way the brothers wouldn’t all sense MC was in labor, or at least in a great deal of pain.

So here’s my better, more accurate hcs (with NO bloody details dw)

* Lucifer is probably the first to notice something is up, followed by Satan, then Mammon and Asmo, then Beel and Belphi, and Levi is the last to catch on, let’s be real here.

* Satan is the one to do all the, erm, medical stuff, because he has the most knowledge; he tries to tell lucifer something seems off about the baby (something about there being gold on the baby?), but lucifer is either too busy or the room is too loud for lucifer to properly hear him, and he’s more focused on Levi who’s looking rather feint. Lucifer focuses on keeping everyone else calm and barking orders at them. Mammon runs and gets the phone to call a real doctor, Asmo brings the fluffiest dry towels (warmed on his heated towel wrack to keep the baby warm ofc), Beel brings ice chips, Belphie holds MC’s hand to keep her calm, and Levi…is passed out on the floor atp. Beel and lucifer carry him off to a corner of the room so he doesn’t get stepped on or tripped over lmao.

* Once things have settled down, and the doctor has determined MC and the baby are ok, Lucifer orders everyone out of the room so MC can have some peace and quiet (everyone complains but ultimately comply when they see how haggard she looks). When they’re alone, Lucifer finally pulls her into his arms so he can hold her and get a good look at the new edition to the family.

* He damn near faints when he sees the little wings and horns just barely peaking out from their head and back. They’re both too small to have much shape yet, but the tips have an unmistakable gold coloration. And when he gets a good look at the gold triangular pattern on their little arms when they flail out of the fluffy towels bundled around them (Satan is very capable in a lot of areas, but probably not so good at swaddling a squirmy baby, so the swaddle was a little loose lmao), he knows immediately who the father is.

* Lucifer practically leaps from the bed and frantically pulls his DDD out to call Dia. He’s frantically speaking in infernal (so MC can’t hear him), and he looks like he’s about to cry. Not because he’s jealous or mad, but because he know how this could hurt his lovers.

* He and dia manage to work it out, but the like of paperwork on both men’s desks is historically tall. Barb and the brothers pitch in as much as they can, but even then the pile seems never-ending.

* With all the older bros and dia and Barb tied up with paperwork, Dia and luci decide it would be best for everyone to just stay where they are until the living arrangements can be properly sorted out.

* It’s hard on everyone, but when MC brings the smiling, cooing bundle into Lucifer’s office so Luci and Dia get a chance to bond with the baby too (Barb too but not as much since he takes over paperwork duty so the boys can hold the baby and whatnot), everyone decides it’s all worth it. Bonus thought for this one too: sleepy luci with a pen in one hand and the baby tucked snugly against him in the crook of his arm, fast asleep, while he does paperwork. Dia comes up behind him and kisses his forehead, and demands baby time.

* Speaking of dia with the baby: he’s a baby hog. He has them cradled in his arms as much as he possibly can. The way they yawn and snuggle into the warmth of his chest melts his heart and he genuinely starts crying every damn time.

* luci and dia can’t always take care of the baby tho bc of paperwork, but that doesn’t mean mc is alone in this; Uncle Asmo to the rescue! Asmo and Beel are basically co-parents atp. Beel loves bottle-feeding the baby, and Asmo loves bathing them and planning their outfits bc he gets to pamper them; no, really, this baby already has a 10-step skincare routine at two weeks old 😭🙌. Asmo isn’t as fond of diaper changes and spit-up, but he cleans them anyway because he genuinely worries about MC’s sleep, or lack thereof.

* Mammon tries to take care of the kid, but is too nervous to do it alone so he usually helps out in other ways, like cleaning the bottle when the baby falls asleep in beel’s arms so Beel can’t do it himself.

* Levi refuses to even be in the same room with the baby at first, but after a while warms up enough to try to talk to them and coo back at them. He nearly died of happiness when MC took them to his room when the baby was fussy and couldn’t sleep, but fell asleep as soon as they were in his room (Levi’s room is very blue and dim, both of which are calming to toddlers and babies, so it’d be a prime nap spot for a fussy baby).

* Speaking of naps: belphi is always there when it’s time for the baby to sleep, even if it cuts into his own nap time, so he can make sure the baby gets to sleep easily. MC has to buy a second bedside bassinet so the baby can sleep with belphi lmao (we promote safe sleep in this house! Even for titanium-strength royal demon babies!)

* Omg I just thought of when the baby is old enough to eat solid foods! Barb, Simeon, and Luke all have a “Baby Bake-Off” where they make baby-safe desserts for them to try, and whichever one they like the most wins! (C’mon, it’s dia’s baby, we all know Barb has this in the BAG, and wins every round lmaooo. He does remember what the young master liked as a baby, after all. Luke complains he has an unfair advantage).

* Context I forgot to mention earlier: I hc baby demons have little round stubs for horns and wings when they’re first born; both with sharpen and gain more size and definition/shape in about a week or so.

I Absolutely lost it for a second at Levi passing out lmao because yea, we all know he would-

God all the paperwork is definitely a nightmare for everybody, Lucifer is skipping sleep the most tho and MC has to drag him into bed all the time (and he’ll only sleep an hour or two before going right back to work)

But whenever Lucifer has even a second of time he’s cooing over the baby and playing with them and letting MC get a break.

Diavolo is such a baby hog!!! He wants to constantly hold the baby, even doing paperwork or in meetings, whatever. He’s sure he can do everything one handed and keep the baby snug in his other. 

Barbatos wants more time with the baby and he’s always asking Asmo for little pictures and update. For the young mater of course! It’s actually for a baby book or something- cuz yes Barbatos would be that uncle-

Another cute thing is Belphie and the baby go to Levi’s room for naps all the time!! Like if the baby is crying or MC needs a break and it’s Belphie turn to watch them he’s grabbing the baby and bassinet, going to Levi’s room and settling in. It’s just quieter, then the rest of the house and like you said the lighting is softer and relaxing. The baby sleeps almost the whole time and it gives Levi a chance to watch over them a bit too!

Ya know how they say a healthy baby has glowing skin? Yea this baby has glowing skin for life, with the way Asmo’s pampering them and making sure their sink is already flawless!

Mammon is constantly buying the baby little stuffed animals and toys whenever he’s out and see one he likes. Like the kid has sooooo many toys from uncle Mammon-
