Clan Leader Geto Headcanons
Clan/cult leader Suguru x fem reader- Suguru Geto is the head of HIS clan and totally HATES monkeys, and forced to marry YOU (I see this trope w/Gojo sm - I'm putting Suguru in Satoru's position hehe)
MDNI- explicit sexual content, reader is a virgin but not much is mentioned in it aside from she doesn't know things lol, obsessed Suguru, masturbation (Suguru) oral (f receiving) lowkey hate sex, he calls you a monkey, is an asshole, reader calls him psycho, Geto is bad at feelings lol.
This is a mini series now - Baby you're no Good
Tumblr media
Clan Leader Geto who finds out he's forced to marry a human of all things!? A pathetic, pretty human with absolutely no cursed energy, so he detests you on sight.
Clan Leader Geto is disgusted by the thought of having to be with you, he certainly doesn't want to kiss you at the wedding. Sure he sleeps with members of his cult, and he can see you're gorgeous, but mortals just have no pull for him. When you're walking up in these pretty white robes for their wedding day, he tries not to even look in your direction.
Clan Leader Geto doesn't realize you are terrified, you've heard just how insane this curse user is, and you certainly don't want to be with someone like this. Sure, he's a beautiful man, his long silky black hair, his violet eyes that land on you for just a moment, he's tall and has the perfect jaw line, but you can't be interested in him, when full of fear. But, you must do your duty.
Clan Leader Geto leans down and gives you a perfunctory kiss as you all get married, you see all the women who are obsessed with him whispering about you, making you lower your head, as Suguru tries to figure out just what it was that he felt from you, glaring and grabbing your wrist. 'do you have any cursed energy?' you pull back your hand. 'you already know the answer' so why then does he feel something odd from your energy!?
Clan Leader Geto decides to ignore whatever thoughts those are, laughing and having a goblet of wine as he talks amongst the actual people that matter, the people with cursed energy, and unfortunately the members of the Geto clan, who annoy him to no end. But he tolerates them, as they help him garner more power, after all. When he sees someone dancing along with you at the party, something makes his jaw clench, and why!?
Clan Leader Geto is forced to have to spend the night in the luxurious room they have set up for the two of you, he walks in and sees you in some translucent nightgown, which hits him in the gut, and he can't really figure out why, except he is a man, and his body is reacting, but he just narrows violet eyes at you, while you're brushing your hair in the mirror. You stand up nervously, giving him just a little lowering of your head, before you look at him with frightened eyes, he chuckles a bit, undoing his green and gold belt, then untying his hair, letting it fall softly.
Clan Leader Geto steps to you with an open robe, showcasing a strong chest and defined abdomen, his perfect skin stretched to fit such muscles, stepping closer as he assesses you, murmuring 'guess we should get this over with' your heart beats out of your chest, completely unsure of just what that entails aside from what you've heard, you've been very sheltered as his promised bride. 'must we?' you ask, earning his mean laugh. 'I don't want to anymore than you do, monkey' you glare now, undoing your gown and letting it fall to your feet, watching his thin nostrils flare, his lips part.
Clan Leader Geto is momentarily stunned at the sight of your body, cock already straining in his pants, he instantly hates you more for your stupid effects, as you step to the futon, decorated in blacks and reds, spreading your legs and showing a perfect, pretty little pussy making his mouth water, not that he'd admit it. He disrobes and you see his cock, huge, he steps forward, grabbing you by your hair then, tilting your chin up. 'Do you even know what to do?' your jaw clenches, as he leans forward, the prick of him pulling your hair making you want to cry out in pain. 'no, I do not, but I'm ready'
Clan Leader Geto chuckles, pressing you pack and grabbing you by your hips, before sucking on his two fingers, lewd as his cheeks hollow, then sinking them in your cunt, making you cry out at the stretch. He is cursing internally that you're that tight, because he won't in fact fit easily. 'Tsk, now I'll have to prep a monkey, detestable' you gasp at him, hips arching up 'and I have to fuck a psycho, detestable' at that Suguru snaps, curling his fingers up and hitting some spot that makes you gush down his fingers, as he scissors them faster and faster, nipping at your breasts, earning your smack and his glare 'you dare smack me?' you panic, realizing your folly, but he's hitting some spot that feels too good, so now you're panting, as his cock is leaking precum, ready to slip inside
Clan Leader Geto sinks into your tight entrance, he gives you no mercy or room to adjust, eyes dilated as he sinks so deep you're screaming out, nails digging into his biceps, still scowling at him 'get it o-over with' you whisper, he tries to stifle a moan at how good you feel, better than anything, wondering just what the fuck you are. 'oh, so done with me already, monkey?' he taunts, pumping in and out of your tight little cunt then, and you ignore how good it starts to feel, holding in every sigh, just glaring 'just give me your heir quickly' he loses himself then, burying his face in your neck, there he can allow his eyes to shut in ecstasy, as he fucks into you, feeling your walls flutter despite your words
Clan Leader Geto wants to hear your moans but you refuse out of spite, but when he leans up and pushes up your thighs, and his huge, veiny length is hitting your cervix, you have to cover your face, earning him yanking your wrists down. 'I'll look upon you' he pins your wrists up, fucking harder and harder until you can't stop the orgasm that happens, making you whimper, eyes rolling back, mouth open in this slutty O, and Suguru can't take how sexy you look, he busts so deep inside you, cumming more than he ever has, loads of hot sticky white ropes deep, and he pauses then, as your eyes lock on each other, just staring at you for far too long before you glare 'you're all done, could you get off me?'
Clan Leader Geto fucks you the next night, but he's tired of you acting like you don't like it, so he leans back on his knees, seeing the bulge of his cock in your tummy, finding your clit with his thumb and watching you fall apart, thighs clenching his hips as you whine pathetically. 'stop that!' he chuckles now 'why, monkey?' you grip his wrist, feeling the climax starting, the pressure in your tummy when he rolls it in circles 'just cum inside me, stop doing th-that!' Suguru can't stop, not when he watches you fall apart, feels you cumming all over his cock, no he needs to get you off again. Using it as an excuse to keep cum inside you, he's fingering his cum back in you the next night, making you jerk and twitch, and then he realizes he just needs more.
Clan Leader Geto can't STOP thinking about fucking you again, and again, to the point he's got you in his office, fucking up into you leaned back in his seat, then he decides no he needs more, and he's got you cockwarming him as he starts his cult meetings. He toys with your clit as you soak his cock, chuckling in your ear - 'you're so slutty now, huh' earning you clenching your pussy so tight he almost busts, scowling at you. You hate him more when he's licking your pussy soon, you're yanking dark locks, the feel of his tastebuds in your pussy is far too much 'this isn't how heirs are m-made, just f-fuck me, you psycho' you try to detatch his mouth, but it's already sucking on your clit, as he gets this taste of you, he's ended, and can't stop, only pulling up with glossy lips and dilated eyes to smirk up at you 'it'll help make... heirs, foolish monkey' you shake your head and he's chuckling as he's lapping up your wetness 'orgasms help it take, hmm?'
Clan Leader Geto finds every opportunity to eat out his new bride, with the intention of course of getting her pregnant sooner! there is no other reason, he justifies, couldn't be that your taste drives him insane, or feeling your walls quivering around his tongue makes him cum from just that, soon you're just getting eaten out and he's not fucking you, making you cum over and over on his mouth, whenever he asks you to see him, that's what he's doing, and you're starting to forget how awful he is, your stupid head too fucked up from orgasms. His assistant walks in on his head buried between your thighs, the one he used to fuck actually, and she clears her throat as Suguru looks at her and glares - 'what- m'busy' you close your legs nervously, adjusting your robes as the assistant sighs 'we have that cult meeting, Mr. Geto' he frowns, because he'd rather eat you out than do that, and you remember then, he's horrible and psychotic, and hop off, leaving in a rush.
Clan Leader Geto finds you crying later because the people in his group are calling you worthless, a monkey, this and that, things he calls you, but for some reason he's infuriated, as he sees tears streak down your face 'I hate it here! I do!' you're shutting him out now, as you realize you're the only human in a place full of people who don't want you to exist, mainly your husband, a husband although you've had sex with countless times, you have never even kissed, a husband who hates you. After ignoring him for weeks, he begins to jerk off to the thought of you, begins to take your underwear and lick it, as he strokes his cock, ignoring every advance, too stubborn to admit he wants more with you. How can he!? You're a stupid monkey after all, so he just keeps pleasuring himself as you pull away, as you lock your door, until you finally come in and say - 'I'm pregnant, it's... we don't have to again' and Suguru drops to his knees.
Tumblr media

Hold your ear to my heart. Hear it beat.
Tumblr media
Part three of The Rain series
Synopsis: Leona's POV from the night of the collapse + When he comes to visit The Prefect in the infirmary for the first time afterwards
TW: Injury, Ramshackle collapsing on The Prefect, Leona finds The Prefect, The Prefect IS NOT in a good state, Blood, Leona Vomits, Leona Cries
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 (here), Part 4 (coming soon)
Tumblr media
Leona wasn't going to answer the phone that night. When he got a call a call at 9pm at night he was planning to hit decline, but, by some stroke of fate perhaps, his finger slipped and he hit answer. He cursed under his breath and was about to end the call when his blood ran cold. On the other end of the line he could hear distant shouts and the sound of harsh rain before a voice broke through the noise: "Kingscholar, we need you at Ramshackle immediately! Ramshackle collapsed and The Prefect got caught under the rubble-"
Leona hung up on Professor Crewel before he could finish talking. Well, he didn't really hang up; he crushed his phone.
Leona was out the door in less than a second. He dashed through the Savanaclaw lounge, startling Ruggie into spilling a basket of laundry and causing Jack to drop a weight on his foot. The lounge went quiet as they watched their dorm leader make a mad dash for the mirror. Nobody had ever seen Leona run like that before.
Barreling out of the mirror, Leona didn't once let up on his pace. Even when he got out into the rain that was so heavy he could barely see ten feet ahead of him, even when he was running on slick stones, Leona ran. When he reached the place where Ramshackle should have been he gagged.
He didn't gage because the sight of the dorm was hard to take in; he gagged because of the thick scent of iron that hung heavy in the air. It took every shred of will within the Lion not to throw up.
Crewel quickly filled him in on the plan and Leona got to work. When his magic pen was full of blot, the teachers lent him their respective magic stones. It wasn't until 12pm (On the dot. Everyone was sickeningly aware of how much time was passing with you under there.) that he finally got to you. The scent of iron flooded his lungs, but that wasn't what caused his face to shift to one of utter horror.
Bones weren't supposed to bend like that. They weren't supposed to be visible either. Was that even you? There's no way. . .there's no way. . . .
The STYX crew, who had arrived an hour earlier, rushed past him and quickly began checking you over and preparing to get you onto the stretcher. Professor Crewel had to pull Leona back because he couldn't move. He was like that until the STYX crew began to rush you to the infirmary.
Even then, he only moved to follow you. The staff didn't bother sending him back to his dorm. They knew he wouldn't leave now.
It wasn't until Leona was standing in the hallway outside of the infirmary that he looked down and threw up on the spot. He was covered in blood. Your blood.
Sam got him clothes to change into, and when Leona got back the area had been turned into a makeshift waiting room (and his vomit cleaned).
He stayed there until morning when he was forced to go back to his dorm to rest. He didn't sleep a wink.
Every time Leona closed his eyes, he saw you laying in the rubble covered in sand and dust and soaked in a mixture of rainwater and your own blood. You looked so cold. His hand only brushed yours, but you had felt so cold.
The counselor he was assigned was more of an annoyance than anything. They weren't able to get a single word out of him.
When Leona heard you woke up, he was just frozen. He didn't even put up a fight when the staff said he'd have to wait a week before he could see you. Honestly, he was scared.
His hand felt like lead as he reached it up to knock on the door.
A raspy, muffled "come in" came like a dying breeze through the door and Leona choked.
It took him longer than he'd like to admit for him to finally open the door and force his legs to move.
You could tell when he saw you that he was struggling to keep it together. You were hooked up to machines and covered in bandages. You had undergone quite a few surgeries since that night.
He was heartbreakingly silent as he stood there by the door.
You gently patted the bed next to you in a motion that made it clear you were still in a good deal of pain, but what he could see of your face betrayed no sign of it. The bed dipped as he sat by your side, facing away from you.
"Leona." You croaked his name, but he didn't respond. "Le-"
Before you could call his name again he had already turned around and, without giving you a chance to look at his face, gently ducked his head into your shoulder. He placed his head on a spot with no bandages, but still just barely hovered his head over you, scared he would cause you pain.
Everything was still for a moment before you lifted one of your arms, your bones creaking, to rest on the back of his head and gently, with what little force you could muster, bring it to rest just above your still beating heart.
He eventually caved and let the little weight of his head rest fully on you as he listened to the beating in your chest. When you looked behind him you could see that his tail was softly swaying to match the rhythm.
Before long you could feel the spot where his head laid begin to become damp. You still couldn't see his face as his lead laid so his ear was pressed to your heard and the back of his head facing you, but you had a pretty good idea of what was happening. You gently made circular motions with your fingers still in his hair (your would pet him, but moving more than just your fingers that much wouldn't be in your best interest).
You stayed like that for hours before he eventually had to leave. The entire time he was there he didn't speak a single word, but he didn't need to. You could tell what he had been feeling from the tear stain on your shirt.
As Leona was closing the door to the infirmary, he heard two soft words slip through the crack between the door and the frame "Thank you."

tmz f1 driver lando norris and singer yn were seen in a pretty heated fight at a studio earlier tonight! apparently lando left her alone in tears. for those who don’t know, he and the singer have been best friends for a few years now, with fans recently speculating online about a relationship confirmation coming soon from the pair but those dreams were crushed when lando was spotted kissing a mystery woman on valentine’s day (see last slide).

fan4 leaving her alone in tears is such an evil move…lando norris you shall die by my sword
fan5 it was clear lando wasn’t ever going to see her as a serious option. she did this to herself!!
⤷ fan6 yn didn’t do anything to herself, lando is the one who keeps stringing her along, especially lately.
fan7 our girl needs to cut lando off, take time to heal and when she’s ready, move on with someone who actually loves her.

yourusername i never wanted to bring this to social media but i was made aware that lando released a statement today that as you can see from above, is full of nothing but lies. we’ve been best friends for a few years now and i had been in love with him for almost all of them. we recently admitted our feelings for each other and decided to see where things would go between us. it was new, but we were relationship and he did cheat on me. i don’t know who he thinks he’s fooling but i haven’t seen or spoken to him since that night at the the studio and things between us are obviously not fine. i’m also pretty sure aria had no idea about me so please do not attack her. this is the last time i’m going to speak about this situation, as i want to move on with my life.

This Valentine’s, your heart might be the last thing you give away.
Tumblr media
❤︎ Synopsis. This Valentine’s, four enemies are about to learn that love isn’t sweet—it’s twisted, obsessive, and definitely not the happily-ever-after they were hoping for. Between roses, revenge, and unexpected affection, survival may just be the most romantic thing you’ll experience.
♡ Book. Forbidden Fruits: Intimate Obsessions, Unhinged Desires.
♡ Pairing. Yandere! Various x Fem. Reader
♡ Novella: Valentine's Special. Red Roses, Black Hearts - Part 1
♡ Word Count. 10,609
♡ A/N. I don't really like celebrating Valentines Day. Not really my thing nor do I care, but it's alright. It's not like I hate it. I'm more of… it's just there. That's it. wdym it's too early. Well it ended up becoming a series, so… shiz. Still debating whether I should go unrestrained horror or dark humor psychological style... who knows. Also, since my friend doesn't like Caleb, I can officially create LaDs Caleb content.
Tumblr media
Valentine’s Day.
The dreaded season of saccharine, mass-produced romance, where the air reeks of cheap perfume and artificial chocolate, where every single person you know—whether it be classmates, coworkers, or that one annoying neighbor who plays obnoxious love songs at full volume—suddenly acts like they’ve ascended to a higher plane of existence because they have the privilege of holding clammy hands with another human being.
It is disgusting.
And you, well, you would rather gargle bleach than partake in this glorified corporate scam of a holiday.
It’s not like you’re bitter about being single—no, that would imply you even wanted to date in the first place. Your aversion to real-life romance isn’t a quirky personality trait or some cute little eccentricity. It is a deeply ingrained, visceral disgust, an allergic reaction that sends metaphorical hives across your soul whenever someone suggests that you, you, might want to experience “love.”
No. You don’t want it. You don’t need it. And you sure as hell don’t need a day dedicated to parading around in pink and red like some kind of overgrown toddler hopped up on love hormones and mass-market capitalism.
Of course, none of this means you aren’t completely obsessed with romance in fiction. But not just any romance. No, your tastes are far more refined—sophisticated, even.
You don’t waste your time with vanilla, run-of-the-mill love stories about two people meeting in a coffee shop and awkwardly flirting over lattes. No, you prefer your romance with a side of psychological horror, a dash of violent obsession, and an unhealthy dose of possessiveness.
That’s right. You read—and write—male yandere content.
Fictional love? Amazing. Real-life love? Revolting.
There is a fine line between passion and psychopathy, and you would rather be dragged to the depths of hell by an obsessive, controlling, morally bankrupt fictional man than even consider the prospect of holding hands with a real person.
You’ve built an empire of anonymity, a carefully curated online persona where you unleash your deepest, darkest, most unhinged thoughts onto unsuspecting readers. Nobody knows your secret, and nobody ever will. By day, you are the quiet, aloof, slightly unsettling individual that people cautiously respect but never truly understand. By night, you are a prolific creator of stories so deranged that even the most experienced horror fans would hesitate before clicking on your masterlist.
It is a beautiful life. A perfect life.
Except for the fact that, no matter how hard you try, you cannot escape the insufferable assault of Valentine’s Day.
The pink. The flowers. The terrible, terrible poetry plastered across every store window. The couples who think they’re being subtle with their PDA but are actually one step away from engaging in unspeakable acts right in the middle of the sidewalk.
It makes you want to die. Or kill. Either works.
Even your professors, the very people who should be upholding the sanctity of academia, have succumbed to the plague. There is an entire essay prompt dedicated to writing about the meaning of love, and you can already feel the bile rising in your throat at the thought of having to regurgitate some sappy nonsense about “soulmates” and “eternal devotion.”
You stare at the prompt. The prompt stares back at you. A staring contest between two soulless voids.
You could write about how love is a chemical reaction, nothing more than a biological impulse designed to ensure the continuation of the species.
You could write about how love is an illusion, a social construct perpetuated by media to manipulate lonely people into believing they need another person to feel whole.
Or… you could write about him.
The perfect man. The kind of man who would rip out his own heart and place it at your feet as an offering. The kind of man who would kill for you. Die for you. Stalk you from the shadows, leaving behind cryptic, bloodstained notes that would send shivers down the spine of anyone who wasn’t completely deranged (which, unfortunately for your mental stability, you absolutely are).
The kind of man who only exists in the realms of fiction, where love is not soft, nor gentle, nor kind, but something dark, twisted, and entirely consuming.
You smile.
Your professor is going to need therapy after reading your paper.
But that’s a problem for tomorrow.
Tonight, you have a yandere fic to update.
────────────
You live in the comfort of your room, tucked away from the world, basking in the glow of your screen. The outside is a horror show, a grotesque landscape of expectations and human interaction that you’d rather not partake in. You could stay locked up forever, hunched over your laptop, writing the most depraved, spine-chilling, erotically twisted stories known to mankind—and you would—if not for her.
Her.
The bane of your existence. The one force of nature capable of tearing you away from your self-imposed isolation.
Your best friend.
You’re not entirely sure how it happened. You’re certain she just decided one day that you were her responsibility, like a stray kitten she picked up off the street and forced into domestication. You didn’t agree to this. You didn’t want this. And yet, here she is, constantly invading your space, forcing you to experience social interaction against your will.
And the worst part? She’s a pervert.
Not just any pervert. An extreme pervert. A monstrous, unholy abomination of a pervert.
You, despite writing the most detailed, graphic, heart-stoppingly intense smut known to man, feel absolutely nothing. Your readers foam at the mouth over your work, leaving you comments that range from awe to pure degeneracy. Meanwhile, you sit there, dead inside, typing out the filthiest, most depraved acts with the same level of emotion one might have while compiling tax documents.
But her? Oh, she eats it up. Devours it. Worships it.
She texts you at ungodly hours with things like:
“BRO. BRO. THIS SCENE?? THIS SCENE??? I’M GOING TO PASS OUT.”
Or
“You’re lying to me. There is NO WAY you’re a virgin. NO WAY. YOU HAVE TO HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE.”
And your personal favorite:
“HOW ARE YOU NOT HORNY RIGHT NOW. EXPLAIN.”
It’s exhausting.
She has no shame. She’ll read your work aloud while you’re trapped in a car with her, watching your soul leave your body as she dramatizes every sinful act with the enthusiasm of a Broadway actor. She’ll corner you and demand explanations for why a character moaned a certain way, as if you have an answer other than, “I don’t know, it just sounded right.”
Your dignity is in shambles.
And what’s worse? She can make anything sound perverted. Anything.
You could be eating a slice of pizza, minding your own business, and she’ll somehow turn it into an innuendo. You could be talking about the weather, and she’ll find a way to make it sexual. The sky is looking a little gray today? “Yeah, just like the color of my soul after that last chapter you wrote. That ruined me. That made me feral. I’m in shambles. You’re a monster.”
You sigh deeply. You’ve lost count of how many times you’ve sighed today.
You’re sitting at your desk, typing away, trying to ignore the looming presence behind you. She’s reading over your shoulder again, eyes scanning the screen at an inhuman speed. You can feel her judgment. It’s suffocating.
Then she lets out a dramatic gasp.
“Oh. My. Damn.”
“No,” you say, preemptively shutting her down.
“You did not just write that.”
“I did.”
“That’s illegal.”
“It is not.”
“That should be illegal.”
“You’re overreacting.”
She grabs your shoulders and shakes you. “HOW ARE YOU NOT SCREAMING WHILE WRITING THIS???”
You blink at her, unamused. “Why would I scream?”
“Because this is HOT. I’m sweating. I’m disoriented. I need to sit down.”
“You are sitting down.”
She grips your arm. “You’re a menace to society.”
You turn back to your screen, continuing to type as if she isn’t having a crisis right next to you. You’re used to this. It happens every time. You don’t know why she keeps acting like this is new information.
She groans, falling back onto your bed dramatically, arm draped over her forehead. “I don’t understand you. You have the power of God and degeneracy in your hands, and yet you feel NOTHING.”
“I’m here for the horror,” you remind her, voice monotone. “The thrill. The psychological torment.”
She sits up. “And the sex.”
You scowl. “I don’t care about the sex.”
“You write it really well for someone who doesn’t care.”
You shrug. It’s true. You do write it well. It’s not your fault that you have a gift. If anything, it’s a burden.
She narrows her eyes at you. “So you’ve never felt even a little bit—?”
“No.”
“Not once?”
“No.”
She exhales, long and suffering. “You’re broken.”
“And yet, you’re still here.”
“I have to be. You need a keeper.”
You roll your eyes. “I need to be left alone.”
“NEVER.”
She launches at you, wrapping her arms around you in a suffocating bear hug. You try to pry her off, but she’s strong—unreasonably strong. She’s always been like this. The kind of woman who could probably snap a grown man in half but still giggles at cute animals. The type to offer sage, older-sister advice to people in need, only to turn around and read the most degenerate smut imaginable.
You give up, slumping in her grasp. You’re used to this, too.
She rests her chin on your head. “So, when’s the next chapter coming out?”
“I don’t know,” you mumble into her arm. “Whenever.”
She gasps. “That’s not good enough.”
“That’s all you’re getting.”
“You’re lucky I love you.”
You pause. Your eye twitches. “You say that, but it feels more like you’re holding me hostage.”
“Same thing.”
You sigh again. The longest, most suffering sigh known to mankind.
There is no escape.
────────────
The moment you agreed, she clasped her hands together like a demon about to perform a blood ritual.
"I knew you’d come around, my little goblin," she cooed, grinning like the Cheshire Cat on steroids.
You stared at her, deadpan. "I want you to know that I have never hated myself more than in this moment."
She ruffled your hair like you were a golden retriever puppy who just learned how to sit. "And yet, you agreed. Love that for you. Love that for me. Love that for us."
You wanted to die. She could probably arrange that, but she was having too much fun watching you suffer.
———
This all started three days ago, when you were sick at home, curled up in bed with a fever, blissfully unaware that your best friend was about to declare war on your social ineptitude.
Somehow, against all logic and reason, you had a friend group. Well, they were more like her friends, and by extension, you were just there. If they were a pack of wolves, you were the black cat perched in the distance, watching, unblinking, knowing full well you were above the food chain nonsense.
That was until some idiot decided to open his mouth.
"Dude, why does she never go out? What, is she scared of people? I bet she’s never even been on a date."
Your best friend paused mid-drink, setting her bottle down with a slow, deliberate motion that sent warning signals to every single person at the table.
"The fuck did you just say?"
The guy shrugged, completely oblivious to the incoming hurricane. "I mean, no offense, but she just gives that, y’know, scary, reclusive serial killer vibe."
Silence.
Then, your best friend let out a laugh, one of those fake, manic laughs that made her seem like she was about to flip the entire table over. She leaned forward, eyes gleaming with something deeply, deeply unholy.
"Oh, bet? You think my best friend—my personal goblin—is just some socially inept cryptid? You think she can’t get a date?"
The guy snorted. "I mean—"
"No, no, no, shut up. Shut the fuck up. You just declared war, asshole." She slammed her fist onto the table. "I will have her slaying at prom, and when she does, you’re gonna take your L like a little bitch."
"Dude, chill—"
"No, no, no, fuck you. I’m gonna make her so hot that when she walks into prom, everyone’s gonna be like ‘who’s that mysterious goddess’ and you’re gonna sit there in your crusty ass suit looking like an extra in a high school romcom."
The whole table was silent. She downed the rest of her drink like a shot, wiped her mouth, and pointed directly at the poor bastard.
"Watch me."
———
"No."
"Oh, come on, it won’t be that bad."
"No."
"Just a little blind date."
"No."
"Okay, what if it’s not a date? Just an interaction. A social experiment. Like putting a chimp in front of a mirror to see if it recognizes itself."
You stared at her, unimpressed. She beamed.
"No."
"You wound me," she sighed dramatically, flopping onto your bed as if her soul had been shattered by your sheer refusal to entertain her bullshit. "Do you not want to broaden your horizons? Experience life? Have someone fall madly in love with you and offer you their fortune?"
You turned your head ever so slightly to glare at her. She grinned.
"No."
"Babe. Babe." She sat up, crisscross applesauce. "I need you to at least leave your house before I have to start smuggling you vitamin D supplements like a shady drug dealer."
"I get vitamin D from my phone."
She looked personally insulted. "That is the saddest shit I’ve ever heard."
"Then leave me alone."
She gasped, clutching her chest. "Betrayal. Backstabbed. Left for dead. I hope you know this is going to be war."
———
And war it was.
The next day, she was outside your house. 7 AM. Dressed like a fucking FBI agent. Sunglasses. Black suit. Earpiece.
"Ma’am, step outside the vehicle."
You shut the window.
The next day, she showed up at your job. (You didn’t even tell her where you worked. She just knew.)
"Hey, babe," she greeted, all smiles and sunshine. "What time do you get off? There’s someone I want you to meet."
You turned and walked the other way.
The next day, you were grocery shopping. She cornered you in the cereal aisle.
"Surprise bitch, bet you thought you’d seen the last of me."
You gripped your basket tighter.
"You will go on this date."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
She leaned in, voice dropping to a whisper. "What if they’re rich?"
You hesitated.
Her grin turned victorious. "I knew it, you little capitalist gremlin."
"I will set this entire aisle on fire."
"And that’s why I love you, babe. Now, let’s talk outfits."
────────────
You stare at the massive stack of papers in front of you like it's a corpse that just plopped onto the dinner table. A thick pile of documents, neatly arranged (a feat you did not think possible for her), bound together with an actual fucking paperclip.
"Alright, bitch," your best friend announces, slamming her hands down on the table with enough force to rattle your soul, "we're finding you a man."
You want to die.
"I really don't think—"
"Shut up."
"But—"
"Shut. Up." She slides the first page in front of you with the precision of an executioner. "Now, look at these premium selections. Hand-picked by yours truly."
You glance at the first paper. It lists a name, age, occupation, social status, and what appears to be a 'Yandere Rating' out of ten. Your soul attempts to astral project.
"Why does this have a yandere rating."
"Because you love that toxic, possessive, I-would-murder-for-you shit, don't act like you don't. I read your stories, bitch."
You close your eyes. "I never should've told you about that."
"You didn’t. I found out."
"Even worse."
She ignores you, shuffling the papers with the excitement of a game show host. "Okay, let’s see. This one—absolute beast. Ultra-rich, emotionally stunted, crazy in the head but hot. Probably gonna pin you against a wall and tell you he can't live without you within the first three dates. Very murder-y. A solid 9.5/10 yandere rating. Thoughts?"
You blink. "That sounds terrible."
She cackles. "You're lying."
"I'm not."
"Bitch, I will expose your AO3."
Your face remains neutral, but internally, you’re already calculating how quickly you can erase your existence from the internet.
She slaps another paper onto the table. "Okay, next up—he's got a crime record."
"Absolutely not."
"Listen, listen, it's not murder, okay? It’s just minor felonies. Some fraud, a little blackmail, typical rich people crime—he’s clean otherwise."
"I literally don't even want to date."
"Yes, and yet here we are." She flips through the stack before pausing, then, without hesitation, crumples an entire sheet of paper and tosses it into the trash. "Nope. This one's ugly."
You exhale slowly. "You’re judging a criminal less harshly than an ugly man."
"Priorities." She shrugs, as if this is the most obvious fact in the world. "If they're gonna be toxic, they have to be fine as hell. Otherwise, what’s the point?"
"I don’t think that’s how—"
"Ohhh, this one!" She practically vibrates as she holds up another paper. "Listen. He’s possessive, dominant, completely depraved, but he’s got the money to spoil you rotten, and he’s super hot. A high-quality psycho."
You press your fingers to your temple. "This is literally a human trafficking scenario."
"But he’s rich."
"So is Jeff Bezos."
"Exactly."
You stare at her. "Do you even hear yourself."
She leans forward, her grin sharp. "Yes. And I stand by it."
You take a slow, deep breath, contemplating your life choices, then glance at the remaining stack. "Are all of these just different variations of ‘hot psychopath’?"
"No. Some are just regular psychopaths."
You stare at her. "...How did you even get these?"
"Connections."
"What connections?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"No."
"Good. Now, next on the list—" She pauses, frowns, and immediately chucks another paper into the trash. "Nope, too soft. You’d step on him, and he’d say ‘thank you.’"
"Just kill me."
"We need balance!" she insists, gesturing wildly. "You’re emotionally dead inside, so we need someone who can handle that without crumbling into dust. If we throw in another doormat, it’s gonna be pathetic. What you need is someone who can keep up with your depressing ass and also fuck you stupid."
You violently choke on air.
"You’re deranged," you rasp out.
She merely grins. "And yet, you’re still here listening to me."
"Because I literally have no choice."
She slaps a new document in front of you. "Alright, final one for now. Listen to this. Business empire, genius, emotionally bankrupt but functional, probably into some nasty shit but looks good in a suit."
You eye the paper. "This sounds like a corporate mafia drama waiting to happen."
"Exactly. And we both know you’d eat that shit up."
You don’t answer. She doesn’t need you to. The smirk on her face tells you she already knows she’s won.
She leans back in her chair, utterly self-satisfied. "So. Who’s it gonna be?"
You stare at the remaining stack, then at your best friend, then at the way your soul is currently floating ten feet above your body.
"You know what," you mutter, defeated. "Just pick for me."
Her grin is positively diabolical. "Oh, bitch, you’re gonna regret that."
You already do.
────────────
You sit slumped over in your chair, staring blankly at the absurdly thick stack of documents your best friend just dumped on the table like she was presenting the results of a scientific breakthrough. You have suffered long and hard for this moment. And by suffered, you mean you had to endure watching her go through an entire lineup of would-be suitors like some kind of overenthusiastic auctioneer while you stared into the abyss, hoping it would finally stare back and drag you into eternal peace.
But here you are, still breathing, against your will.
“Alright, after an excruciatingly thorough vetting process, four candidates have survived. I know, tragic.” Your best friend sighs dramatically, as if the whole ordeal was emotionally devastating for her. It wasn’t. She’s enjoying this. You know she is.
She pushes the first file toward you, tapping it twice. “Now, before you say anything, I already know what’s on your mind—‘But aren’t they all just cliche tropes ripped straight out of a questionable romance novel?’”
“That is not what I was going to say,” you respond, monotone.
“You were thinking it,” she accuses. “And okay, fine, I admit it—yes, they’re cliché as hell, but trust me, darling, these are the closest to your… preferences. Or at least the closest you’ll get.” She leans forward, a glint in her eyes that spells danger. “Trust me. I can tell.”
You exhale sharply through your nose. “I don’t have preferences.” She ignores your comment.
"Alright, bitch. Four finalists. Four potential future providers of dick and distress." She claps her hands together with a grin so smug it should be illegal. "I know you don't give a single fuck, but I need you to understand that these are the best options available to your pathetic, unromantic ass."
You stare at her. "I hate you."
"Love you too, dumbass. Anyway." She dramatically flips a folder open. "Before you start bitching, let me clarify something. These guys? Technically, not yanderes."
You blink. "Then why am I here."
"Because they're the closest match to your degenerate tastes. Trust me, I can tell."
You press a hand to your forehead, contemplating if slamming your skull into the table would grant you the sweet release of unconsciousness.
Then you let out a long, slow sigh, resigning yourself to the inevitable. "Just do it."
She smirked. "You always make it sound like I'm about to execute you. But fine. Let’s start with the first one."
———
She yanked the first folder open and dramatically shoved the profile in front of your face. The rich prince, the untouchable student council president, the golden boy.
You glance at the file. His extracurriculars are a cursed list of everything you despise: fencing, business management, charity events, and what you dread most, hosting school galas.
“This motherfucker. Top of the hierarchy, heir to a ridiculous empire, and so disgustingly charming he could probably get away with tax fraud in broad daylight. He’s a genius, annoyingly good-looking, and has an ego the size of the national debt. Basically, a walking privilege check.”
You just stared at her. “I hate him already.”
“I know, right? That’s why you’ll get along so well. He’s the type to flirt with you just to piss you off. Loves playing the fool, but make no mistake—he’s got a god complex that even Jesus would side-eye. He’s also obscenely rich, so if nothing else, you can mooch off him. Plus, imagine the sex."
You immediately regretted breathing. “I don’t want to imagine that.”
She gave you a pitying look. "It’s okay, I’ll imagine it for you. I’d say he’d be the type to pin you down with a cocky little smirk and make you beg just because he can. The kind of guy who teases you for hours just to see how long you last before you break." She tilted her head in deep thought. "Yeah, he’d be insufferable about it. But you like a challenge, so it works."
You were considering launching yourself out the window. “Next.”
“Fine, fine. Now, this one’s fun.” She slapped open the second folder.
———
"The delinquent. Your classic bad boy. Most famous troublemaker in school. Absolute bastard. Arguably a feral animal with human rights."
You glance over the profile. Multiple suspensions, record-breaking number of detentions, rumors of gang affiliations. The worst part? Top physical scores, zero effort in academics, still passing with minimal attendance.
You stared at the profile. “Why does it say ‘once bit a teacher’ under notable achievements?”
“Because he did.” She snickered. “This guy’s a walking crime waiting to happen. Fights just for the hell of it. If a fire breaks out at school, he was probably involved. I don’t think he even knows what rules are. But the man is sharp. He’s the kind of guy who will break someone’s nose and walk off whistling. Imagine the sheer lawlessness of your dynamic.”
"Why."
"Because he's a menace. A hot one. And if you're going to be dead inside, at least let someone else do the thrill-seeking for you. Plus, look at these notes on his dating history—nonexistent. He's a territorial little shit who probably wouldn't even let you look at other men without giving you a possessive death glare. He'd fight a guy for breathing the same air as you."
You rub your temples. "Isn’t that just primal jealousy?"
"Yes. And it’s hot. And just imagine the sex,” she cooed.
“No.”
“Listen, this is important. He’d be rough, no doubt. Fast, reckless, all adrenaline. Probably the type to take you in places that are very much not legal or appropriate. And he’d absolutely mock you about everything. If you blush, he’s got ammo for years. You’d hate him, but in a fun way."
You wanted to detach your soul from your body. “Moving on.”
———
She snorted and opened the third folder. “Alright, this one’s different. The intelligent doctor and artist. A rare combination of someone who can both kill and heal you.”
You stare at the profile. High-level intellect. Medical prodigy. Specializes in surrealist paintings. No known scandals. Speaks in a way that makes people question their mortality.
You peered at the profile. “He seems... disturbingly normal compared to the others.”
“Oh, no, he’s not,” she assured you. "He’s just the quiet kind of unsettling. Genius intellect, ridiculously composed, and there’s something really fucking off about how serene he is. The kind of guy who watches people like they’re puzzles he already solved. He’s patient, calculated, and definitely has secrets you do not want to find out.”
“Sounds exhausting,” you muttered.
She grinned. “But wouldn’t he be hot about it? You’d think you were safe, and then bam—suddenly you’re alone with him, and he’s looking at you like you’re a rare artifact. He’s the type to say the most poetic, devastating shit in bed. Imagine him whispering some existential nonsense in your ear while ruining you. Tell me that wouldn’t be the most intense experience of your life."
“I refuse to answer that.”
“Anyway, he’s refined, patient, and he has the aura of someone who would casually sketch you while you’re sleeping.” She sighs dreamily. “Also, I have a strong suspicion he has some absolutely filthy thoughts beneath all that cold intelligence. You know the type. The ones who look all deep and poetic but actually have the most deranged kinks.”
Your soul leaves your body. “I don’t need to know this.”
She pats your shoulder. “You do.”
“I really don’t.”
———
“Boring ass,” she muttered, flipping open the last folder. “And finally, the academic. Your intellectual equal. Top scholar, scientist in the making, will probably end up running some research institute and using it for shady experiments."
You glance at the file. He’s at the top of every academic competition. Scores are beyond perfect. Cold, logical, reclusive.
“He’s the most similar to you,” she says. “Which is either really good or really bad.”
“Bad.”
“Good.” She smirks. “Because that means you two could theoretically hold an entire conversation just arguing over who’s smarter.”
“A fellow miserable overachiever. Fantastic,” you deadpanned.
“See? That’s why you’d get along. He’s practical, logical, and absolutely ruthless when it comes to proving a point. He’d challenge you constantly, and you’d hate how much you respect it. I guarantee your conversations would either be deep philosophical debates or petty arguments over who’s right about something stupid. And the sex—oh, the sex.”
You dropped your face into your hands. "Please stop."
She ignored you. "With him, it would be clinical, controlled, and ridiculously efficient. He’d make sure every move is perfectly calculated. You’d think he’s cold, but it’s just because he’s too fucking logical. He’d be treating it like an experiment on your responses, and you’d be left questioning if he actually cared or was just collecting data. Kinda hot."
You slowly exhaled, staring into the abyss. “Why are you like this.”
She shrugs. "Because I care about your sex life. You’re welcome."
She then grinned, patting your shoulder. “Now, who’s your pick?"
“I’m picking death.”
“Death isn’t an option.”
“Neither is any of this.”
She gives you a sickeningly sweet smile. “Oh, bitch. You underestimate me.”
────────────
It starts with a sigh. It always does. A deep, long-suffering exhale that feels like it drains a year off your lifespan as you pinch the bridge of your nose, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion.
Your best friend? She’s laughing her ass off.
“Let me get this straight,” she wheezes between snorts, nearly doubling over from how hard she’s laughing. “All four of them—every single one—you managed to piss off all of them?”
“Yes,” you say flatly.
“And you didn’t tell me?”
“I didn’t think it was important.”
She gasps, clutching her chest like you’ve personally stabbed her. “Not important?! The four most powerful, well-known, and untouchable guys in the entire school—wait, let me correct myself—the four most untouchable guys in the entire damn city hate your guts, and you didn’t think that was important?”
You blink. “Not really.”
She howls. Actually, physically howls. She slaps the table, wheezing between fits of laughter, practically sliding off her chair from how much she’s losing it. You just watch, unimpressed.
“Holy shit,” she finally gets out, wiping a tear from her eye. “Dude. You’re the worst.”
“I’m really not.”
“No, you are.” She takes a deep breath. “Alright, hold up. I need to hear this one by one. From the beginning. How the hell did you manage to make enemies with all of them?”
You roll your eyes. “I wouldn’t call them enemies.”
“You wouldn’t call them enemies,” she parrots. “Because you don’t have any social skills. Everyone else would.”
“I think they’re just being dramatic,” you deadpan.
“Uh-huh.” She leans forward, grinning like a wolf about to hear some premium entertainment. “Alright, out with it. How’d you piss off the prince first?”
You sigh. Again. You should start charging for this.
────────────
You weren’t one to talk to people. It wasn’t a matter of shyness, or even preference. You just didn’t see the point.
Words were tools, necessary for survival, but beyond that? Completely overrated. People wanted to chat, to laugh, to bond. They wanted connection. You wanted quiet. You wanted them to stop existing in your general vicinity. So you did what you did best: you stayed out of their way.
It worked.
Until it didn’t.
────────────
The day you made an enemy of the most powerful student in school, you were just trying to turn in a form.
It was a simple task. A direct, no-nonsense mission. Enter the student council office, dump the document on the desk, and leave. No engagement necessary. No unnecessary eye contact. You even timed it perfectly—right when the council president was known to be out, probably hosting another insufferable pep rally for an event nobody cared about.
Except he was there.
And he was lounging like a self-satisfied deity, feet kicked up on the desk, twirling a pen in one hand while flipping through paperwork with the other. The sight alone was annoying. The sheer audacity of a person to be so… obnoxiously present. Fluffy neat hair, bright eyes, a grin that looked like it had never known a moment of humility. He radiated untouchable, almost divine levels of confidence.
He looked up. And in that moment, you knew.
He recognized you.
“Ohhh,” he mused, dragging out the sound. “If it isn’t the human black hole.”
You paused. Blinked. “What.”
“You know,” he said, waving his hand vaguely, “you just kinda suck all the joy out of a room. Like a void. A really cold, dead void.”
You tilted your head. “...Are you trying to flirt with me?”
His grin widened. “Are you into that?”
“No.”
“Then yes.”
You stared. He smirked. The paper in your hands crinkled slightly as your grip tightened.
“I need to submit this,” you said, monotone, lifting the form like an offering to some insufferable god.
“I’m not taking that.”
You blinked again. “You’re the student council president.”
“Exactly! I delegate. That’s the secret to success, y’know?”
Your eye twitched. “Your name is literally on the submission instructions.”
“Well, yeah, because I like the attention.”
You inhaled slowly. Deeply. Somewhere in your head, you heard your best friend’s voice narrating your own life: And this was the moment she seriously considered homicide.
“Fine,” you said, dropping the paper onto his desk, “then I’ll just leave it here.”
He reached out lazily, grabbed it, and without breaking eye contact, slowly—painstakingly—shoved it off the desk.
The silence that followed was almost religious.
You stared at the fallen paper.
He stared at you.
“I’m not picking that up,” you said.
“Neither am I.”
Your fingers twitched. He smirked. The room temperature dropped several degrees. For a long, long moment, neither of you moved. It was a battle of sheer, unbreakable will.
“...You’re so mad right now,” he said, delight dripping from every word.
“I hate you.”
“You don’t.”
You did. You really did.
The silence stretched. A battle of wills.
You were still standing there, staring at the paper on the floor, while he sat back with the self-satisfaction of a man who had never known loss.
“C’mon,” he drawled, chin propped on his palm. “I know you wanna pick it up.”
You said nothing. You just stared at him with the deadest, most soulless gaze known to mankind. He looked back, and you could see the amusement glowing behind his bright, insufferable eyes.
You exhaled through your nose.
Then, without hesitation—without a single wasted movement—you picked up his cup of hot chocolate and, with the precision of a surgeon, dumped it directly on his head.
A rich, dark cascade poured over his fluffy, previously immaculate hair, dripping down his forehead, staining his pristine uniform. It was perfect. It was artistic. It was poetic justice, crafted in under three seconds.
He froze.
The room went completely, utterly silent.
You, however, weren’t done.
Swiftly, efficiently, you pulled out your phone and snapped a photo. The flash illuminated the scene in sharp, unforgiving clarity.
Dripping hair. A stunned, slack-jawed expression. Hot chocolate soaking through the fabric of his blazer like a crime scene.
You took a second, longer look at the picture. Then, with an air of complete disinterest, you saved it directly into your drive backup.
His shock hadn’t even caught up to him yet. His brain was still buffering.
You calmly turned the screen toward him, showing him his own humiliation.
“If you mess with me again,” you said flatly, “this is going on the school forum.”
He blinked once. Twice. His expression twitched. And for the first time, you saw it—an actual, genuine crack in that unshakable confidence.
It lasted a fraction of a second.
Then, slowly—so, so slowly—his mouth curved into something new. Not the usual cocky grin. Not the smirk of someone who thought he had the entire world wrapped around his little finger.
No.
This was something else.
A slow, wicked, positively unholy grin.
Like a beast just realizing it found prey worth hunting.
“Ohhh,” he breathed, eyes gleaming with something both predatory and exhilarated. “You are so much fun.”
You tucked your phone away. “Glad you think so. I hate you.”
“Liar.”
You turned and went to leave, not giving him the satisfaction of a reaction.
But, just as you reached the door—
“You’re gonna regret this,” he called, voice deceptively light. “I’m a very petty person.”
You paused. Glanced back.
Then, in the most monotone, unimpressed voice you could muster—
“So am I.”
As you exited the student council room, you heard the faintest sound behind you—low, breathless laughter.
Like someone who had just discovered their new favorite game.
────────────
The second one, you met him in detention. Because of course you did.
Technically, you weren’t even there for anything interesting. Not for fighting. Not for vandalism. Not for anything remotely impressive. No, you were here because a teacher had asked for your opinion, and you—being a natural-born social disaster—had given it.
“‘An archaic relic of bureaucracy that produces nothing but misery and debt’ is not an appropriate way to describe the school’s education system,” your teacher had snapped.
“Would you rather I say it’s good?” you had asked, genuinely confused.
Apparently, that had been the wrong answer.
So here you were. Sitting in the back of the room, arms crossed, eyes blank, waiting for time to pass like a medieval peasant awaiting the guillotine.
And then he walked in.
You immediately clocked what kind of person he was. He carried himself with the casual arrogance of someone who had never followed a rule in his life. Tattoos peeked out from under his uniform sleeves, his tie was nowhere to be seen, and his uniform was barely recognizable as one. He had the lazy stance of a guy who made teachers question their career choices and a presence that made people instinctively shrink back.
Unfortunately, you weren’t people.
His gaze landed on you like a predator spotting an unsuspecting rabbit.
Except you weren’t a rabbit. You were just... unfortunately here.
He strolled over, dropping into the seat beside you, his body language loose, confident, exuding the kind of energy that made authority figures reach for blood pressure medication.
“New?” he asked, his voice a slow drawl, eyes flicking over you with open curiosity.
“No.”
His smirk widened, sharp and lazy. “You talk like a corpse.”
“And you talk too much.”
That made him pause. Just for a second. Like he was recalibrating. Then he grinned, the expression laced with something both amused and dangerous. “Not many people have the guts to talk back to me.”
You blinked. “I don’t have guts. I just don’t care.”
He let out a short laugh, a low, considering sound. “Huh.”
You returned your stare to the front of the room, hoping that was the end of the interaction.
It wasn’t.
“So, what’d you do to get stuck in here?” he asked, propping his chin on his hand like you were a puzzle he was trying to solve.
“Answered a question.”
He frowned. “That’s it?”
You nodded.
His frown deepened. “You mean you ran your mouth.”
“I answered honestly.”
“Yeah, ran your mouth.”
You sighed. “Are you always this insufferable?”
His smirk stretched, sharp with amusement. “Only when I’m interested.”
You gave him a long, unimpressed stare. “Wow. I’m honored.”
“You should be,” he shot back, grinning.
You rolled your eyes and returned your attention to the front of the room. Not that there was anything interesting up there—just a barely functional projector and a wall clock that seemed to have stopped in 1973.
Silence. For a glorious ten seconds.
Then:
“So, what’s your deal?”
You inhaled slowly through your nose. “I don’t have a deal.”
“Everyone has a deal.”
“Well, mine is not talking to annoying people.”
“Guess you’re breaking your own rule then.”
You turned your head, making a show of staring at him with dead, soulless eyes. “Lucky me.”
His smirk widened. His chair creaked as he leaned back, stretching like a particularly smug cat. “You know, I don’t usually take an interest in people like you.”
“People like me?”
“Yeah. Tiny. Mouthy. Clearly incapable of winning a physical fight.”
“Bold of you to assume I wouldn’t just poison you instead.”
His laughter was sudden, sharp-edged. “You’re funny.”
“I’m serious.”
“I know,” he said, still grinning. “That’s what makes it funny.”
You sighed, returning to your previous strategy of ignoring his existence.
It didn’t work.
“So, do you just piss people off for fun, or is that an accidental talent?”
You didn’t look at him. “Why? You feeling pissed off?”
“Nah.” A slow pause. “Not yet.”
Something about the way he said that made you glance at him again. His smirk had cooled into something else—something harder, more assessing. You’d known from the second he walked in that he was bad news, but now you could feel it, thick and tangible, like a storm about to break.
Still, you weren’t one to back down.
“I could try harder,” you offered.
His eyes darkened, something flickering behind them—something you probably should have taken as a warning.
“Oh yeah?” he murmured, tone deceptively light. “Go ahead.”
You tilted your head, considering. Then, you shrugged. “You’re a walking cliché.”
That got a reaction. His smirk vanished, replaced by a sharp-edged stare.
“Excuse me?”
You gestured vaguely at him. “The whole ‘too cool for rules, bad boy with authority issues’ thing. It’s exhausting. You should at least try to have a personality.”
He stared at you, expression unreadable. Then, in a disturbingly calm voice, he asked, “You ever been hit before?”
You blinked. “Not recently.”
He exhaled, tilting his head back. “God. You’re fucking annoying.”
“You started this conversation.”
“Yeah,” he muttered, rolling his shoulders, “biggest mistake of my life.”
“Wow. Must be nice if this is the worst mistake you’ve ever made.”
His jaw twitched. For the first time, he actually looked pissed.
Good.
Unfortunately, that also meant he was now visibly debating whether or not to knock your teeth in.
Your eyes flicked to his hands—bigger than yours, calloused, flexing slightly, like he was restraining himself. He was taller, broader, a lot stronger than you. You weren’t stupid. If he actually decided to swing, you were probably going to die.
But hey. What’s life without a little risk?
You met his glare head-on. “Are you about to hit someone half your size?”
He tilted his head, exhaling slowly. “Thinking about it.”
“That’s pathetic.”
He actually growled, low and irritated, and you barely had time to register the movement before he was shifting forward, one hand reaching out like he was about to grab you—
And then the door creaked open.
“Alright, detention gremlins,” the teacher’s voice drawled from the front of the room, “keep your murder attempts to a minimum.”
You didn’t even blink, just turned lazily in your seat as if you hadn’t nearly gotten your face rearranged.
He, on the other hand, pulled back immediately, exhaling sharply, clearly forcing himself to relax.
The teacher shot him a look. “Sit still, delinquent.”
His jaw ticked, but he didn’t say anything. He just slumped back into his chair, arms crossed, eyes flicking briefly to you.
You met his stare.
Slowly, you smiled.
His fingers twitched.
This was going to be fun.
────────────
For the third man, the first time you met him, you were sitting in a hospital bed, staring at the white ceiling, contemplating your existence and whether or not you could convince the nurses to let you leave early. The fluorescent lights hummed a dull tune, matching the flatlined rhythm of your enthusiasm for life. You didn’t even want to be here. The injury wasn’t even that bad. But the moment you’d said, “It’s fine, I can still walk,” and then promptly collapsed, the people around you decided that maybe you weren’t the best judge of what counted as ‘fine.’
And that’s when he walked in, the doctor assigned to your case.
Tall. Elegant. His every movement controlled with the same level of care you’d expect from someone painting the Sistine Chapel, even though all he was doing was picking up your chart. His black-gloved fingers trailed over the paperwork before he flipped it open, eyes skimming your medical history like he was reading a novel he had already figured out the ending to. Cold, calculating, and frankly, a little theatrical.
You stared. He looked like the kind of person who’d be the main villain in a psychological thriller.
“You have a concussion,” he said, his voice measured, precise.
You blinked. “Oh.”
There was a pause. The kind that stretched a little too long, like a piece of gum being pulled between fingers. He looked at you. You looked at him. Then, with the kind of energy that could only be described as ‘well, I guess I have nothing better to do,’ you muttered, “Neat.”
He blinked, once. A slow, unreadable gesture. “I wouldn’t describe a traumatic brain injury as ‘neat.’”
“Well,” you deadpanned, “I would.”
Silence. He adjusted his gloves, movements smooth, unhurried. You were pretty sure this man had never rushed anything in his life. The air of quiet, detached arrogance practically radiated off of him in waves.
“You seem disinterested in your own well-being,” he observed, as if he were commenting on the weather.
You tilted your head, expression blank. “And?”
His brows barely twitched, but you swore you saw a flicker of something behind those eerily calm eyes. Like a candle in a dark room. Something minute, almost imperceptible. A single frame of a horror movie before the jump scare.
Then, without a word, he set your chart back down and began his examination, his touch careful, professional. You sat there, letting him check for signs of worsening symptoms, feeling absolutely no inclination to make this easier for him. He had the air of someone who rarely got rattled, and for some reason, that made you want to rattle him.
So when he was checking your pupils with a penlight, you stared unblinkingly into his eyes and said, “You look like the kind of guy who has a hidden art studio where you paint unsettlingly lifelike portraits of people you find interesting.”
He paused.
The light flickered over your eyes as he considered you. Then, calmly, as if answering a normal, everyday question, he replied, “And if I did?”
You shrugged. “I’d say you’re pretty bad at hiding it.”
Another pause. Then—so brief it could have been a trick of the light—the corner of his lips twitched upward. Amusement, buried beneath layers of restraint.
He pulled back, setting the penlight aside. “I don’t have a hidden art studio.”
You narrowed your eyes. “That’s exactly what someone with a hidden art studio would say.”
He exhaled through his nose. “Are you always like this?”
“Like what?”
His gaze flickered over you, assessing, weighing. “Difficult.”
You smirked, feeling a spark of something sharp and insubordinate curl in your chest. “Only with people who think they have me figured out.”
For a moment, he didn’t say anything. Just studied you with an unreadable expression, as if deciding whether to be irritated or intrigued. You had a feeling he wasn’t used to being challenged. People probably either feared or revered him, treating his words like gospel. You, on the other hand, had the distinct urge to annoy him purely because you could.
The tension stretched between you, coiling like a taut wire. Then, with an air of finality, he turned away, retrieving a prescription pad and beginning to write. “I’ll be keeping you for observation.”
Your eye twitched. “Why?”
He didn’t look up. “Because I suspect if I let you leave, you’d immediately do something to worsen your condition.”
You opened your mouth to argue, then promptly closed it when you realized he was absolutely right. Damn it.
“You can’t just hold me hostage in a hospital,” you grumbled.
He tore the prescription from the pad, setting it aside. “I’m your doctor. I can.”
You glared at him, but he remained entirely unbothered, like a marble statue in a white coat.
For the first time in a long time, you had the distinct feeling that you’d just met someone who was actually going to be a problem.
And judging by the glint in his eyes when he finally met your gaze again, you had a sneaking suspicion he felt the same way about you.
────────────
The fourth guy?
It started with a test. Not just any test. A national-level competition meant to determine the brightest academic minds of the generation.
You sat at your desk, filling in the answers with mechanical efficiency, while the only other student in the room doing the same was him. The top scholar. The prodigy. The golden boy of academia. He who must not be named because if you ever say his name out loud, you might actually vomit.
The two of you had been at this for years. Competing. Spiting. Resenting.
The rivalry was so intense that your parents had to be physically separated at parent-teacher meetings, lest they start arguing over whose kid deserved to be hailed as the superior intellectual. The problem was that neither of you ever pulled ahead definitively. Sometimes you won. Sometimes he did. Sometimes it was a tie, which was the absolute worst because it meant the war had to continue.
The one thing you both silently agreed on? No one else needed to know.
So in public, you two were strangers. A nod at most, a passing glance, like two ships in the night. But the moment you were alone? The gloves came off.
And today, the moment came in the form of a single test result.
You finished your exam a fraction of a second before him, slamming your pen down triumphantly. He, sitting at the desk beside you, slowly turned his head to look at you, expression unreadable.
You smirked. He narrowed his eyes.
Neither of you spoke.
You both already knew what this meant.
It had always been like this. Subtle gestures. Microexpressions. Entire conversations conveyed through a single glance. And this time, your glance said:
That’s right. I beat you by 0.2 seconds. Cry about it.
His glance, in return, said:
You think this means anything? You’re delusional. Enjoy your fleeting moment of victory while it lasts.
You both turned in your papers and walked out without a word, maintaining the illusion that you had no connection to each other. That was, until you reached the hallway.
“You look extra dead inside today,” he said, adjusting the strap of his bag.
“Yeah, because I had to sit next to you.”
He scoffed. “I make you look alive by comparison.”
“You make me wish I was actually dead.”
“Touché.”
And that was it. That was your normal conversation. Because no one else knew, it was always like this—just pure, undiluted antagonism with an undertone of reluctant respect.
But the moment you stepped outside where other students could see, you both went back to pretending the other didn’t exist.
———
The problem with childhood rivals is that you know too much about each other. He knew about the time you threw up in second grade because you drank three chocolate milks in one sitting. You knew about the time he cried in fourth grade because he lost a chess match to a five-year-old. These were secrets that, if revealed, would destroy either of you instantly. And so, an unspoken truce existed: Mutual Assured Destruction. If one of you fell, the other would go down as well.
But that didn’t mean you had to be nice to each other.
The school’s annual debate competition was proof of that.
You weren’t even supposed to be on stage today. The original competitor from your class had gotten sick at the last moment, so your teacher shoved you in as a replacement. And, of course, standing across from you at the podium was none other than him.
“I see fate continues to curse me,” you muttered, gripping the microphone.
“Likewise,” he replied, adjusting his tie.
The topic? “Should academic rivalries be encouraged?”
He was on the pro side. You were on the con side.
The sheer irony nearly made you laugh. But the moment the debate started, it was war.
He argued that competition drove people to improve, citing numerous studies. You argued that it created unnecessary stress, pointing out various psychological reports. He said rivalry forged discipline. You countered that it led to burnout. Back and forth, your arguments clashed like swords, neither side yielding. The audience watched, captivated, unaware that this was nothing new to either of you.
It wasn’t until the Q&A round that things got personal.
One of the judges asked, “Do either of you have experience with an academic rival?”
You and him made brief eye contact. A single second of hesitation.
Then he, ever the smug bastard, smirked and said, “No, I don’t have a rival. No one has ever truly been on my level.”
Your eye twitched. Oh. Oh, he wanted to play it that way? Fine.
You smiled, saccharine sweet. “Oh, same here. I’ve never met anyone who could actually challenge me.”
The audience laughed, completely oblivious to the nuclear warfare happening in your minds.
You won the debate by a narrow margin. He took it in stride, shaking your hand like a good sport, but you both knew this wasn’t over.
It was never over.
———
Years of this. Years of pretending. Years of knowing that he was the only person who could truly get under your skin, and vice versa.
And yet, despite everything, despite the constant battle for dominance, there was a grudging acknowledgment: neither of you would have been as good without the other.
But you’d never say that out loud.
Not unless you wanted to lose the war.
────────────
Back in the present, your best friend is still wiping away tears of laughter. “I swear, you’re cursed. Only you could turn four of the most powerful guys in this school into your sworn enemies without even trying.”
You sigh. “It’s not my fault they’re all easily irritated.”
She grins. “Enemies-to-lovers speedrun?”
You groan. “Absolutely not.”
But she just smirks.
Because honestly? The way things are going, it’s inevitable.
———
You take a deep breath, leaning back in your seat as you finish recounting the absolute disaster that was your past. "So, yeah. That’s how I managed to piss off the entire unofficial ruling class of this school without even trying. It’s not my fault they’re all allergic to basic human interaction."
Your best friend? Oh, she’s wheezing. Bent over. Completely losing it.
You just stare, dead inside.
"I cannot believe you," she chokes out, clutching her stomach. "Four. Not one, not two—four of the most powerful guys in this school are now your sworn enemies. I swear, you’re a walking curse. A divine anomaly."
You sigh, propping your chin on your hand. "See, this is exactly why they can’t be the choices."
That only makes her laugh harder.
"No, no, no, you don’t get it," she wheezes, slamming a hand on the table. "This is why they have to be the choices. Like, this is fate. This is math. The sheer statistical improbability of you randomly antagonizing the four most dangerous guys in school without even trying—"
"—Means they’re going to murder me in my sleep, not fall in love with me," you interrupt flatly.
She shakes her head, eyes gleaming. "No, no, no. This is the setup for the best enemies-to-lovers arc I’ve ever seen. This is gold. This is poetry. This is—"
"A death sentence."
"—A story unfolding before my very eyes!" She gestures wildly. "Four. If it was just one, okay, sure, maybe it’s just bad luck. Two? Fine, you have a talent for pissing people off. But four?" She leans in, deadly serious now. "That’s fate."
You stare at her, unimpressed. "You’re literally using the fact that I’m universally despised as an argument for romance."
"And I’m right."
"Objectively false. I can present multiple counterarguments—"
"Oh, I bet you can," she interrupts, grinning. "And you know what? They’d all be wrong."
You cross your arms. "Fine. Let’s debate this logically."
She cracks her knuckles. "Bring it."
"One: They hate me. Like, actively hate me."
"Great foundation for romantic tension."
You scowl. "Two: I have no romantic interest in any of them."
"You say that now."
"Three: They have power, money, and influence, and could absolutely ruin my life at any moment."
She smirks. "Oh, so they could ruin your life. But haven’t."
You narrow your eyes. "Yet."
She shrugs. "Or maybe, deep down, they’re already obsessed with you."
You groan. "That’s not how real life works."
She leans in, voice smug. "Then explain why none of them have done anything too serious to you yet. With the power they have, you should’ve been completely crushed by now. But instead? They’re keeping you around. Engaging with you. They want your reactions."
You hesitate for a fraction of a second.
She grins, sensing her victory.
"Don’t even start," you mutter.
She tilts her head. "Too late. You are the main character in an enemies-to-lovers story, and I will see this through."
"Over my dead body."
"Listen, if it happens, it happens. I’ll be there at your wedding, sipping my champagne, telling everyone, ‘I told her so.’"
You groan, dragging a hand down your face. "I am never telling you anything ever again."
But she just laughs. Because she knows.
And that’s what terrifies you the most.
———
You shake your head, exhaling sharply. "This is bullshit."
She grins, clearly enjoying your suffering.
Your eyes drift to the side, landing on a thick stack of papers—her so-called research. A Frankenstein’s monster of printed profiles, handwritten notes, and stapled-together disasters. This is what she’s been using to "help" you find a so-called suitable match before she apparently decided to scrap the entire thing and make your life a living hell instead.
You reach over and pull a few sheets from the pile, scanning them briefly. Your eyes land on someone near the bottom of the stack. Someone you haven’t met. No noted incidents. No mortal enemies. Just a generic, normal guy with no apparent psychotic tendencies.
"Alright," you say, holding up the page. "This guy."
Your best friend leans forward, glancing at the name, then immediately scoffs. "Him?"
You nod. "Yeah. He looks the most normal, statistically conquerable, and unlikely to plot my untimely demise."
She groans, tilting her head back like you’ve personally offended her. "Are you serious? This is the blandest option in the entire lineup. This is, like, choosing plain toast at an all-you-can-eat buffet."
"Exactly," you say, unfazed. "I don’t want a disaster. I want stability. Normalcy. Someone who doesn’t have the power to ruin my life."
She gestures dramatically. "And this is what you land on? A literal NPC?"
"He has a face. He has a name. That’s already enough for me."
She smacks the table. "That’s bare minimum! You’re literally picking a filler character when you have the Final Four right in front of you!"
"And I’m perfectly fine with that," you say, deadpan.
"No, no, no. You don’t get it." She leans forward, voice firm. "You cannot settle for Generic Background Character #12. Look at the narrative potential! The power struggle! The development!"
You sigh. "I am not a character in a novel."
She smirks. "You keep saying that, and yet, the evidence continues to pile up against you."
You roll your eyes. "Look, just because I have bad luck doesn’t mean I have to indulge it." You tap the paper. "This guy is a logical, safe choice."
"Safe choices don’t make history."
"They also don’t make headlines for scandals, criminal activity, or blood feuds."
She groans again, slumping in her chair. "You are so frustrating. You have four absolute powerhouses lined up, each with the potential to make your life an experience, and you want—what? A guy whose biggest personality trait is that he’s 'nice'?"
"Yes."
"Disgusting."
"Predictable."
"Boring."
"Stable."
She narrows her eyes at you. "You are dodging fate so hard right now, it’s embarrassing."
"I am making logical decisions so hard right now, and you refuse to acknowledge it."
She smacks the table again, exasperated. "I’m not saying you have to date them! I’m just saying you should at least consider them before you throw yourself into the void of mediocrity!"
You cross your arms, staring her down. "And I’m saying you are severely overestimating my ability to survive a romantic entanglement with any of them."
She grins, tilting her head. "Or underestimating their desire to keep you alive and entertained."
You pause.
She smirks.
You scowl. "No."
She leans back, victorious. "Just saying. It’s gonna happen."
"It is not."
She winks. "We’ll see."
────────────
The next day starts off normal. Or at least, as normal as it can be when you’re still recovering from the previous night’s argument with your best friend. You’re just trying to make it through the school day without incident—low profile, no chaos, just peace.
And then your phone buzzes.
You glance down, expecting something trivial. Instead, you see a message from an unknown number.
Unknown: You owe me for last time. Meet me after school. Don’t make me come find you.
You blink. Stare. Read it again.
There’s only one person you "owe" anything to in the eyes of certain individuals.
You: No.
No response.
Your phone buzzes again. Another unknown number.
Unknown: Be at the café near campus at 4. I already told them you’d be coming. Don’t embarrass me.
Your eye twitches. What.
Buzz.
Unknown: I assume you have no plans. I’m picking you up at 6. Don’t make me wait.
Your stomach sinks. There is no way. There is no way.
Buzz.
Unknown: I’ll be outside your place at 7. Don’t even try to run.
You slowly, slowly lower your phone.
You already know who's responsible.
Your best friend. Your traitorous best friend.
You whip your head around the classroom, eyes locking onto her immediately. She’s sitting at her desk, chin propped up in her hand, scrolling through her phone like she didn’t just orchestrate your demise.
She knows.
She feels your glare.
And she grins.
You stand up so fast your chair nearly topples over. You’re going to kill her.

Ok we have another one to add to the list!!!!!!
So I've seen a lot of people arguing about the whole "but Marinette made the decision for him!" thing in Werepapas, and honestly I think it's another Lady Macbeth/Baby It's Cold Outside scenario.
So the argument here, if you don't know it, is whether Lady Macbeth pressured Macbeth into killing the King, or whether she saw that it was what he wanted to do, and encouraged him because his conscience was getting in the way of something he clearly wanted to do. I can't be arsed to explain Baby It's Cold Outside but you get the gist.
So, the argument here is - Adrien still doesn't get to make his own decision. But did Marinette make the decision for him, or did she encourage him towards the decision he was always going to make? To me, the part where Adrien said he didn't know what he wanted was VERY in character. It read very much as him not wanting to offend anyone or cause another fight (like the one they literally JUST went through). But, really, was he ever going to make a different decision? He was choosing between Nathalie, who from the flashbacks and *gestures* the Rest Of The Series clearly cares about him, he knows her well, she loves him. Or a couple of strangers he just met that day. Adrien clearly, throughout the episode, expresses that he wants to stay in Paris, with Nathalie, and he is repeatedly ignored. To me, this moment is not Marinette making the decision for him - it's her standing up for him and saying to him that he can speak his mind. Remember, Adrien's spent his whole life under his father's thumb. He never could say what he wanted for fear of retaliation.
There IS a theme of other people making decisions for Adrien, obviously with the grandparents, but also with Nathalie herself. I will defend her until the ends of the Earth, but she did decide on her own that Adrien would be better off with biological family - granted, there's CLEARLY something influencing this feeling, plus the grandparents talking about how she's not family and has no right to look after Adrien, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of backstory there - but once again, even though she thinks it's for the best, and the best thing for Adrien even if it hurts her (which it clearly does), she's still making a decision for Adrien. She's blinded by the fact that she's obviously at some point been told that she's not his family and never will be (the guilt from being Mayura and aiding and abetting his father is probably coming into play too) and so she makes a decision that ultimately, Adrien should have had a say in. And Marinette, like she did in the Special, puts her foot down and says, actually, you are his family, or the closest thing left, so listen to him when he says you are. I also found it very funny when Marinette literally tells Nathalie "you're an adult", and follows it up with basically "so do something about this". But you get my gist - ALL of the characters are making decisions for Adrien, and Marinette SEES this, and encourages Adrien to make the decision HE wants, and not the one that will please his grandparents.

idk I kind of feel like I'm an idiot bc I actually enjoyed cr 3 from the jump to the end but like the blogs who follow bc I feel they are definitely more articulate and insightful than me are like "the whole thing was meaningless and pointless! matt fumbled everything!" so maybe I'm wrong to have liked it all? I'm not really sure where I'm going with this sorry
I think one thing to keep in mind is that many (and in fact, I would argue, most!) people who are critiquing the story and construction have also generally enjoyed the campaign as a whole! Certainly I don't know anyone who stuck it out through the end who did not overall enjoy watching it, for various reasons; I know there are people who hate watch, which I think is an absurd and honestly really stupid waste of time, but from my experience they are normally making snide and vicious tweet-length posts rather than long considerations of what isn't working for them.
There are also a lot of levels of critique—I've greatly enjoyed a lot of moments in isolation that I simultaneously felt weakened, contradicted, or even actively undermined the structure of the story as a whole, but those moments were still really fun and interesting beats. The Arch Heart's cameo comes to mind, as does, in hindsight, some of the construction of the post-Solstice split, but there are plenty of others of higher or lower impact on the story. In the finale the Raise Dead falls into this place very strongly, so I'm going to talk about it at length for a moment, since it was an absolutely stellar moment for me personally and as such I do think it serves as very illustrative of an example where I simultaneously fucking love a moment while finding it worth significant critique. I think it also touches on the critiques you're referring to, which I would summarize overall as the idea that many of the outcomes feel influenced negatively by pulled punches on the part of the DM rather than a flaw of one player or another. (Also, I want to talk about it cuz I love it. :3) This got very long but I think that to your point, it is worth examining in this amount of depth.
First, the good: it is an absolutely phenomenal culminating point of an arc that was only really concluded in summary; I have, as noted earlier this week, written at length about how Essek is never situated as a protagonist, which is functionally fine and even good. He ends up tied very strongly to Caleb's arc, and moves in the narrative in such a way after 2x97 that allows Caleb to reach a concluding note, and strengthens that narrative. So we only really hear about the outcome of Essek's choices, his inevitable leave from the Dynasty, in the summarization of the campaign 2 epilogue. This is not inherently a problem, because he is not a protagonist. But this moment does functionally create a material representation of that denouement, and in particular the tension between the outcomes of his poor choices and the better—potentially even good!—person he is trying to be as a result of the Nein's influence, which does strengthen his arc in its own right.
This moment also, hilariously, bears out my argument from this post. That the resurrection should only work with this intervention, particularly while the Nein are involved, does follow through on the Nein's general positioning within Exandria. Essek's leave happening without a fight (and, frankly, with only one attempted Counterspell) both makes for a very well-paced moment and also maintains the overall sense of story that the Nein impart when they are on screen; I'm thinking again of how their Ruidus episodes feel, much like their campaign and their post-campaign one-shots, like an intrigue action thriller series, and this fits well in that framing.
So overall, it is a fantastic moment... for the Nein. The Nein are not the protagonists of this story. They exist in the world, and are such active agents that they do continue to develop and exert motion on the narrative into this campaign, and frankly, I think this would have been fine if the party given ownership of this story and campaign did not abdicate their responsibility for it with unfortunate frequency. They do not exert a strong control over their story, which is at odds with the fact that the Nein do, and are present and also involved by the nature of their ending. It completely overshadows Ashton's heroic moment, in that the culminating action beat of this sequence is Essek getting away, which kind of takes the wind out of the sails of the Hells' involvement in the gods' outcome. It doesn't negate it, certainly, but it does refocus the story from them to, for some reason, Essek. So in this sense, it occurs at the expense of the Hells.
I find that while the handwaving of using dunamantic intervention to push Raise Dead beyond its limits (if indeed the reason it didn't originally work was because Ashton's brain was essentially gone) fits fine and even well within the framework of the Nein's story, and an NPC being able to do so without a roll is fine, since NPCs are vehicles the DM uses to guide the story, this is a significant divergence from the overall mechanics of the world at large; even the Nein had to do a full ritual for the resurrection of their tiefling. Matt put those mechanics in place specifically to create narrative meaning behind resurrections, which can feel very unmotivated and like a get out of jail free card in D&D, and while it's been noted that this would've really strained the runtime beyond its existing length, prioritizing it at the cost of, for instance, more truncated end notes for the Nein and Vox would've bolstered the Hells' presence in an ending to their own story that even many of their fans felt was ultimately lacking.
Giving the resurrection full weight would've also given Ashton's sacrifice and the Hells' involvement more narrative weight; the reason the other parties are involved at all is because the Hells were truly running on fumes by that point, but any lack of involvement this created could've been alleviated by having them directly involved through pre-established ritual elements that are not contingent on them having any mechanical offerings. So this moment sits within the context of critique that I agree with: that it felt like a pulled punch that ultimately also served to decenter the Hells within their own narrative, when it could've been used with more deliberate narrative force.
At the same time, I fucking love it, and watched it four times in a row yesterday, because it is so good—and it is, as I described, narratively and thematically coherent in one sense! And I think that is one issue of the campaign: many, many great moments are excellent and coherent in a certain framework but are weaker to varying degrees when considered as one piece of a larger whole. There are so many frameworks at play in this narrative, and not enough direct intervention to manage those as frameworks rather than as a single story, but at the same time, I think those frameworks are far more apparent if you're really looking for them, and that's much more difficult, if not impossible, when you're in the midst of them and telling the story.
I also don't think this means one cannot critique this; in fact, I would say this is more an issue of being a serialized narrative than an improvised one, which is often how critique of it has been pushed back against within the fandom. I was thinking about this as I'm currently in a course on, quite literally, how to critique comics, and we discussed this week how Marjane Satrapi said in an interview after making the film adaptation of Persepolis, which was first a serialized comic, that she ended up preferring the film, and I speculated that was because with a film, one has the ability to make a more cohesive narrative purely by virtue of the fact that with a serialized form, you cannot go back and make retroactive edits when new developments come to light. This is something that long-running comics must constantly navigate (as do many long TV shows), and in extreme circumstances such as decades-old comic franchises, ends up resulting in infinite timelines and hand-waving, which becomes so ridiculous that at this point it's a meme. In that scenario, though, it is not presented as a non-contradictory story, let alone a cohesive one.
Many of the critiques of campaign 3 are operating within the idea that this is presented as one overarching narrative. (And honestly, comics and other narratives that don't utilize that presentation are also still critiqued on that merit by people who greatly enjoy the texts they're critiquing anyway.) Within that context, I feel that the framing of the Raise Dead, as well as much of what would be my critique of the other pieces I referenced (the Arch Heart's cameo and some of the party-split sections) if I was to do the same kind of rundown of those, actively undermine this presentation by introducing and forefronting too many conflicting frameworks that are not interwoven well enough to create a single, cohesive overarching narrative.
This is a very long-winded way to illustrate my point, which is that I would really encourage reading critique not as a lack of enjoyment of the campaign, let alone a suggestion that no one should've enjoyed it (and if you did, then you're not smart enough to know better), but as a way to engage with the text(s) as presented within one framework or another. I think this is sometimes obscured in online fandom spaces, where we're not engaging in critique in as formal of a sense as one would in, say, an academic setting, where the norms generally dictate the framework one is using is explicitly stated if not fully delineated within the critique, but it is, more often than not, still implicitly present within the critique.
And as a final note, I would also really urge everyone reading others' opinions on something they enjoy to resist the urge to elide their own opinions from the conversation, even if you don't feel as articulate or as well-versed in critique. Critique is a trained skill, so it is certainly something one can pick up if they are inclined, and at the same time, someone doing it does not mean they are inherently right—and in fact, with all argumentative writing, it is up to the reader to consider the argument and decide whether or not they agree with it. (You can decide that you disagree with me about the Raise Dead! Just because I wrote a thousand words on it does not inherently make my interpretation truth; it's just an interpretation. You get to say whether or not you think my interpretation makes sense based on the evidence presented.) Even here I'm using the framework of some critique that others have made, but I don't delineate in full myself. In doing do I'm not presuming that you agree, but I am presuming that you've read it and know what I'm referring to. Strictly speaking it's also not even saying that I take that critique as true; it's saying that I feel the conclusions drawn are applicable as a basis for my argument. If you wanted, you could even say that you feel that my argument is irrelevant to you because you don't feel those critiques are true! But you ultimately do have to be the one to decide any of that, which does involve a balance between a confidence in the formation of your own opinions on the text and an openness to entertaining others'.

"There were no consequences to Bell's Hells' actions!"
Oh my sweet summer child, ramifications of the end of an age don't happen in a single game, even an 8.5 hours long on. C3 is similar in that way to ExU: Calamity, in the sense that it described events leading to the end of an age, but didn't spend much time detailing the new one.
Still, there were plenty of indications that the story didn't end there for many characters. Braius, Opal, Morrigan, Vax, and Pike will all have to deal with mortal Gods at a point or another. Disgruntled mortal Gods could try to hunt down Bell's Hells if they're really unhappy about their situations (thankfully, it'll take a decade or two for that to happen aha). Some religious folks will have an issue with them, but let's be honest, Team Issylra will ask you "when do they not have an issue with us?".
Yes, there will be a few religious crises around Exandria. Those don't happen nor get resolved in a single game though, so maybe we'll see more of that in post-campaign one-shots and future campaigns. We'll have to watch and find out! The new ExU mini-series will already be dealing with a similar theme, as Divergence will come up right after a significant change in the relationship between mortals and Gods. That'll give us an idea of what could be or what can differ.
"But Divine Magic doesn't seem to be impacted! That sounds like a cop out!"
Well, Matt mentioned a few times that the assumptions on the metaphysics of his fake world may not be true. My understanding is that the realms of the Gods haven't changed, so mortal souls should get through a similar process than before. Maybe divine magic draws powers from those worlds instead of directly the Gods? Clarification can be asked in fireside chat and wrap-up aha. But also it's a fake world, Matt can change it as he wants, it's fine.
"What about other consequences?"
Well, I'm expecting Imogen to help for a bit with Ruidians on Exandria. Ashton will have to deal with the Kryn at one point or another. Fearne might get into trouble with the Unseelie court. Dorian is definitely still getting into trouble. Who knows whether Chetney's deal with Nana Morri will bite him in the ass at some point? So many one shot opportunities for Bell's Hells, I think we'll see them quite a few more times. I guess that's a consequence of having C3 being so focused on the overall plot and less on individual character arcs: the story of those folks is far from being over...

summary. after sam's confession, you can't deny your feelings anymore.
pairing. sam winchester x reader ft. dean winchester ; angsty!
wordcount. 1086
notes. just shocked. heartbroken. going absolutely insane with this series!
⋆.˚ ★— read part 1, part 2 + dean's ending
Tumblr media
The bunker feels different now.
You don’t know how, exactly. The walls are the same, the air is the same—heavy with lore books and coffee, gunpowder and old leather. But something about it feels off, like the foundation has shifted beneath you and you don’t know how to walk steady anymore.
Because Sam left.
And Dean? Dean barely looks at you.
The last thing you remember clearly is standing between them, Sam’s confession hanging in the air like an exposed nerve. The way Dean turned away, the way he asked you if you loved Sam, the way your throat closed up before you could answer—
And now here you are. Days have passed. Maybe a week. Maybe more. The time feels meaningless when all you can do is think.
Sam isn’t here. He didn’t take much—just a bag, his laptop, a few weapons—but he’s gone. He left without another word, and you don’t even know where he went. Maybe that should be your answer right there. Maybe if you truly loved him, you wouldn’t have let him walk away. Maybe if you truly loved him, you would’ve chased him.
But you didn’t.
And yet…
You don’t sleep. Not really. Not without thinking of Sam’s eyes, how they softened when he looked at you. Not without remembering the way he always listened—really listened—when you talked, the way he knew when you needed silence and when you needed a joke. Not without thinking about how easy it was to just be with him, to exist beside him without effort or expectation.
Dean loves you. You know that.
But Sam sees you.
And it’s that realization—the quiet, slow, earth-shattering realization—that makes you sick.
Because what kind of person are you, to love one brother while holding the hand of the other?
Dean is quiet when you find him in the kitchen.
He sits at the table, nursing a beer, his jaw tight as he stares at nothing. It’s been like this ever since Sam left—short conversations, no teasing, no warmth. Just silence.
You sit across from him, tucking your hands in your lap. The words sit heavy on your tongue, but you need to say them. You owe him that.
“I think I love Sam.”
Dean exhales sharply through his nose. It’s not a surprised sound. He’s known. Maybe he’s always known.
“I figured,” he says after a moment. His voice is rough, distant. “You gonna go after him?”
Your heart twists. “I don’t know where he is.”
Dean lets out a humorless chuckle, shaking his head. “Bullshit. If you really wanted to find him, you would.”
And there it is. The truth, laid out bare. You’ve been waiting for someone to say it, and now that he has, it stings worse than you imagined.
“I never meant to—”
“To what?” Dean snaps, finally looking at you, green eyes burning. “Never meant to fall for him? Never meant to lead me on?” He scoffs. “That’s comforting.”
You flinch. You deserve that. “Dean, I didn’t want this to happen.”
“Then why did it?”
“I don’t know.” Your voice breaks. “I didn’t realize it, I didn’t—” You squeeze your eyes shut. “I love you, Dean. I do.”
Dean leans forward, forearms braced against the table. “But not like you love him.”
It’s not a question.
Tears burn behind your eyes. “I’m sorry.”
Dean studies you for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then he pushes back his chair, standing up without a word.
“Dean—”
He holds up a hand, shaking his head. His throat bobs, but when he speaks, his voice is even. “Go find him.”
You don’t move.
“You want him?” Dean says, jaw tight. “Then go.”
And so you do.
It takes three days to track Sam down.
You follow a trail of credit card charges—cheap motel rooms, gas stations, diners. He’s been moving every couple of days, never staying in one place too long. It makes you sick, knowing he left because of you.
When you finally find him, it’s in a small, rundown motel on the edge of nowhere. His car is parked outside, the headlights catching in the rain-soaked pavement. Your hands shake as you knock on the door.
There’s a pause. Then, finally, the door creaks open.
Sam stands there, barefoot in jeans and a worn hoodie, hair messy, eyes tired. He blinks at you like he’s not sure you’re real.
“Hey,” you whisper.
His eyes widen and you can clearly see you were the last person he thought would be on the other side of the door. “What are you doing here?”
You take a shaky breath. “I think I love you.”
Silence. Then—
“You think?”
Your chest aches. “I know.”
Sam exhales sharply, looking away, rubbing a hand over his face. “Jesus,” he mutters. “You can’t just—” He swallows. “You can’t just say that.”
“But it’s true.”
His jaw clenches. “And Dean?”
“I told him,” you say softly. “I ended it.”
Sam stares at you for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then, suddenly, he lets out a breathless, almost bitter laugh. “Shit.”
You don’t realize you’re crying until Sam reaches out, fingers brushing your cheek. His touch is hesitant, like he’s afraid you’ll disappear.
“You broke up with Dean.”
“I had to.”
Sam shakes his head, but his hand doesn’t leave your face. His thumb strokes your cheek, slow and careful.
“You broke his heart,” he says quietly.
“I know.” A tear slips down your cheek. “I never meant to hurt him.”
Sam swallows hard. “But you chose me.”
Your voice is barely a whisper. “I did.”
A beat of silence. Then—
Sam exhales, something breaking in his expression, something raw and aching and real, and suddenly his hands are on you—gripping your face, pulling you in. His lips crush against yours, desperate and searching, and you melt into him like you’ve been waiting forever.
He tastes like coffee and rain and something inherently Sam, something safe and familiar and right. His hands tremble against you, like he can’t believe you’re here, like he’s afraid you’ll disappear if he lets go.
But you’re not going anywhere.
When you finally break apart, foreheads pressed together, Sam breathes out your name like a prayer. His hands cup your jaw, his thumbs brushing over your skin.
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this,” he murmurs.
You smile, brushing your fingers through his hair. “Then don’t let go.”
Sam’s lips ghost over yours, the barest hint of a smile tugging at his mouth.
“Never.”

Ask Masterpost #5 -- 2/8/2025
Summary:
Permissibility of Friday Night Funkin' Mods (Allowed) with update about Rhythm Heaven songs
Permissibility of Lego Batman/Lego series games (Allowed if original compositions or remixes)
Permissibility of fansongs that eventually end up inside the game (Highly situational; Leaning towards not allowed)
Permissibility of licensed music from external/unaffiliated sources (Not allowed)
April Fools plans
Note about attribution corrections
Permissibility of scrapped songs (Not allowed)
Permissibility of songs officially posted by developers before game release (Allowed)
----------
no rush on answering this bc i know requests wont be open for a hot minute, but i have a question if u dont mind!
are songs from friday night funkin mods allowed? and if so, would it be the same as rhythm heaven songs, where you said just an instrumental should be submitted since the "vocals" are pretty distinct? thank u!! :]
Yes, they're allowed as long as you can credit the original creators and the mod is/was publicly playable in some capacity, not just existing as a youtube video. It's okay to have the vocals as well if you'd like! I think I misunderstood the rhythm heaven case (I thought it would be the menu music that plays after you complete the song/level, not the sfx that plays DURING the song) and will clarify that accordingly.
----------
What's the verdict on songs from games like Lego Batman? Where the music is at least partially based on (if not entirely the same as) music from films or television?
Totally fine if they're created or remixed for the video game, but I'm going to say no if they weren't originally made for the video game.
----------
@cloudyskies4 asked: if a song is fanmade but ended up getting used officially in a kinda fanmade modernization how would the source for that be handled?
I think this is HIGHLY situational and I would probably need to know the exact song this is referring to. Overall, I'm inclined to say no, because it wasn't an original composition for the game (by the team behind the game, that is).
----------
is music that was licensed for use in video games allowed? like if some rock song from the 80s was used in a game that came out in 2010. pretty sure it's a no on that front, but i wanted to double check. thank you!
No, because it wasn't composed for the game itself. Appreciate you double checking though! (I'm assuming this is referring to songs that are unchanged when included in the video game and not 'xyz franchise song remixed for xyz franchise video game' sort of thing)
----------
hi! i absolutely love this blog. and i appreciate the organizational work you're putting in! so thanks for not only running this blog but also introducing so many people to some damn good music.
since these are never official tracks, one event i think you could do for like, april fool's day or something is maybe using silvagunner rips under the same format. i think it'd be pretty fun!
I probably won't do anything for april fools simply because I don't really care for it :'). Thank you for enjoying the blog so much!!!
----------
[Any ask that's correcting me on an incorrect credit for a song]
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE. SERIOUSLY. If you put them in the notes it might be a hit or miss if I see them but if you send me an ask I WILL SEE IT and I WILL CORRECT IT IMMEDIATELY. Proper attribution is important to me and I appreciate everyone who helps me stick to that! This isn't an ask, but I wanted to address it anyways.
----------
might be a silly question but are scrapped video game songs allowed? i know submissions are closed, im just asking so that i dont send something thats not allowed when submissions open :]
I'm going to say no, just because they were scrapped and therefore not intended for the final product :'). No such thing as a silly question!
----------
If the game hasn't been released yet, but a song from the game *has* been officially posted by the devs beforehand, is that okay to submit? I figured it's a yes but I just wanted to be extra sure for when Jan 1st submissions roll around :)
If the song has been officially posted by the devs (and is the full song, not the BGM for a trailer) and you can credit the composer than absolutely!! (assuming the song is going to be in the game, of course). And I'm sorry there were no submissions on Jan 1st... I'm still trying to clear through the ones we have already :')

“Max..” Your voice was quiet and your eyes met his “We don’t have to, we’ll go up there and take a nap or anything” You nod, he smiles gently and presses a kiss to your nose “Tell me when I’m crossing lines okay? I’m not gonna loose you because i’m selfish or anything” His tone was quiet and gentle, matching yours.
“I will. I just..” You look down. Max senses that you’re struggling, grabs the forgotten ice cream, puts it back in the freezer and takes you back upstairs.
He pulls you on your previous spot, making you lay your head on his shoulder. “I’m sorry” “For what?” “We didn’t..” And we don’t have to. I literally could not care less. If you don’t want it, I don’t want it either.”
You smile at him as his thumb caressed your cheek. You sigh and press your lips together, making Max tilt his head at you “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, it’s fine” He shakes his head “No. Talk to me” You shake your head “It’s okay” “No it’s not. I can only help you when you tell me what’s wrong” “Nothings really wrong..” “But?”
You sigh and fidget with a bracelet Lando had gifted you years ago “It hasn’t changed..” Max looked confused “Changed? What?” “Me, uhm..” “Well, It doesn’t really matter if you do or not. I’m still right here” You chuckle and blush at his words.
“It’s no that” His hand rests over yours “Then what?” “I asked something of you, something you didn’t want.. well..” Max face twists from confusion to realisation “You’re..you never..?” You shake your head “I didn’t know we’d end up here but I never really found anyone I trusted enough”
He stares at you “And where is the problem?” “Maybe you didn’t want-“ “You listen to me now.” He sits up “I wanted you. I want you and I will want you until I take my last breath. That’s how much you consume me. I need you in every way that you allow me to have you. And I’m sorry if I ever made you feel like you couldn’t be open about this, but I promise you, It’s okay. And we don’t have to. Okay? That’s not why we’re here”
He holds your face in his hands “Okay?” You nod and gently meet his lips.
“We’ve been through enough to not hide something from the other. And we’ll probably go through hell a few times. Especially when the internet catches on, but that all won’t matter cause we’ve got each other.”
You smile and nod “Okay” Max smiles too “Okay. And now we should slowly go back to land. I’m starving” You chuckle “Ay ay, captain” You smirk “Dork” He ruffles through you hair “Hey!”
He quickly kissed the top of your head and heads to turn the boat around. You watch him leading you both back to the land. Maybe it wasn’t as bad as you thought.

She smiles at you “You’re finally where you wanted to be all along. It is okay. No matter what the media, what lando, and definitely daniel says. They don’t matter. Did he give you any reason not to trust him?”
“No?” “Then talk to him again. And if you aren’t ready, then that’s okay too.” “Everyone-“ “Shut up.” You blink at her “Stop comparing yourself, please. If I had the chance again, I would’ve rather thought about who I had my first time with. But I wanted to fit in, to loose my virginity. That’s stupid tho. Do it with someone you love, and not do it when everyone tells you to lose it.”
You nod “Alright, alright. Before you start writing poems here.” You chuckle and Alex laughs “I’m sure i’ll write some about the insufferable love you two have for each other” “Me and Max? Talk about yourself with the wannabe fashionista”
“That’s mean” She says but laughs “His pants are the worst! How would you let him go out like that?” You cringe “He likes it I guess. I’ll help him here and there but..he’s expressing himself..?”
“Don’t make me feel bad “ You chuckle but pick up your phone that lit up.
“Who is it?” “Max” She smirks at you “Shut up” “I didn’t say anything” You roll your eyes “What does he want?” “Asking if I was up for dinner tonight. But keegan and morgan would be joining if I was okay with it”
“But you wanted to talk to him” “I’m not gonna talk to him about him talking my virginity in public, Alex!” You whisper yell. She shrugs and you roll your eyes again.
“Maybe you won’t even have to talk” She smirks again “Alex” You whine “Do you trust him?” “Yes” “Do you want it to be him?” “Yes” She smiles as she sips her coffee.
“We’ll see what happens” “Just don’t panic. You’ll be okay.” you nod “Thank you alex” “You know I won’t judge” She winks.

You kicked off your heels in the hallway and made your way to the living room. You flopped down onto the couch and you hear a chuckle from behind you “Told you to wear other shoes.” “But others wouldn’t have fit to my outfit” You pout.
“Then you should’ve changed” “So you don’t like my outfit?” “Oh trust me, I love it” You blush a bit as he sits next to you, hand on your knee.
“How was the meet up with Alexandra? More gossip?” “Maybe” Max smiled and closed his eyes. His head rested on the back of the couch as you watched him.
“Everything okay?” He mumbled a few moments later and opened one eye to look at you “yeah, i’m okay” You smile warmly. He smiles, closes his eye and gently strokes your leg.
Either he hasn’t noticed, or he’s doing it on purpose but with each stoke, his hand itched higher and higher. When he got to your thigh, your breath hitched.
You saw max’s lips twitch upwards slightly. His thumb makes a soothing motion over your inner thigh, which isn’t soothing at all (Ykyk that feeling).
“Fewtrell.” He hums “What are you doing?” “I’m not doing anything” He turns his head and looks at you with an innocent smile “I know exactly what you’re doing.” “Then why are you asking?”
* Smut until the next mark *
“Don’t play with me, Fewtrell” “No? But I thought that’s exactly what you wanted” You glare at him “Maybe I don’t want it anymore” He chuckled “No? Then why is my hand trapped between your thighs?” He smirks. Fuck, you hadn’t even noticed that your thighs were pressed together.
You look up at him with a faint blush on your cheeks. His free hand cups your cheek “Tell me to stop and I will” You shake your head “Don’t” “No? You sure” You nod and he raised an eyebrow at you.
“Yes”
That’s all it took for max to let his restraint go. His lips crash into yours “Tell me if I make you uncomfortable or-“ “Just shut up” You breath out. He chuckled, pulled his hand from between your thighs and climbed over you.
His hands were next to your head, yours finding their place on his sides “Max” You say quietly as his lips gently glide over your jaw “Hm?” You raise your hands to his cheeks and pull him in for another kiss.
One hand slowly wanders down to the first button on his shirt, which he catches in his hand. You look at him puzzled “I’m not fucking you on your couch” “Why not?” “Not happening”
He gets up and throws you over his shoulder as if you weighted nothing “Max! What the fuck!” “You’ll live.” You chuckle as he makes his way to your bedroom.
He gently sets you down on the bed and doesn’t restrain your hands from opening his shirt this time. He watched every move of your hands and looks right into your eyes as you push the dress shirt off him.
He lets it fall to the floor as he leans over you again, his lips almost touching yours “Still okay?” “yes” You lean up the last bit to kiss him, making him smile into the kiss.
One of his hands trace your back “Wanna keep it on or can I..” Max eyes you for a moment, keeping alert for any possible discomfort. You breath for a moment “It’s okay” You say quietly.
He smiles and gently opens your dress. It falls of your shoulders as he pulls you up by your hands and strips you off the dress completely.
His eyes roam your body, but instead of being embarrassed, it’s sends a warm sensation through your body.
“Got your wish after all, huh?” He chuckled “Shut up and hurry up” “Patience baby. Everything at its time” You roll your eyes but yelp as Max pushes you back on the bed.
“Up” He says and you move more upwards on the bed as he towers over you. His lips find your jaw once again while one of his hands roams your form.
He trails down your body, keeping eye contact. “Max, please. Don’t tease” “I’m not teasing, i’m enjoying” His hands slide up your sides and stop at your bra “Can I take it off?” You nod and Max opens your bra and throws it off the bed.
“Fuck, you’re so beautiful.” He murmured against your skin. His hands gently knead your tits and smirks as you let out a gasp.
He comes up to your ear, gently biting under it, earning a muffled moan “Has anyone ever touched you, baby?” You shake your head, breathless “No? Oh fuck” He chuckled and let his head fall forward for a moment.
Max composed himself again as his hands travel down to the last piece of clothing that’s covering you. He looks at you and you nod. He raised an eyebrow “Yes, max for fucks sake. Stop asking and do something, please”
He smirked and pulled down your underwear, leaving you bare in front of him. You tug at his pants “No, not yet” He gently guides your hand above your head “This is about you, not me” You whine “You can have me later, let me make my stupid decision up, hmm?”
He gently glides two fingers through your folds. You bite your lip to keep your moans quiet, but Max wasn’t having any of it.
“Let me hear you, otherwise I’ll stop” He pulls his hand away and you buckle your hips upwards, which was quickly shut down by max shoving and holding your hips down.
His fingers find your clit and circle it slowly. One of your hands grabs max’s arm. He smiles and speeds up slowly. Your breathing was already unsteady but it wasn’t enough “Max, please” “Use your words. What do you want?”
You blush and clench your jaw “I’m not a mind reader, you gotta tell me” “Your fingers” “oh yeah?” You nod eagerly “Well, who am I to deny you that” He slowly inserts one of his fingers and watches your face for any discomfort.
When he doesn’t find any, he curves his finger upwards. You moan and thighten your grip on his arm “More, please Max” He inserts another finger into you and picks up the pace.
He keeps his thumb on your clit, kissing your thighs in the process. You moan out his name, nothing else than him filling your mind.
“What a good girl” Max raised an eyebrow as you clenched around his fingers “Oh? You like when I call you that?” You blush and hide your face in your hands.
“Don’t hide yourself, come on Baby” He peels your hands away “Eyes on me. You wanna cum on my fingers?” You nod “Yeah? You think you can handle my cock too?” You nod eagerly “Yes, I can”
Max smirks, picking up the speed again and you whine “Aw, are you sensitive?” You push your head backwards into the pillow.
The squelch of the movement inside of you is the only noise filling the room for a moment, making you fist the blanket and max’s arm.
“So good- Max! ‘m close” “Yeah? I’ve got you, cum all over my fingers. Need it” He says and bites the inside your thigh.
The pain pushes you over the edge, your nails digging into Max’s arm.
He slowed down his pace, letting you ride out your high. He pulls out and wipes his fingers on his pants, his free hand gently stroking your abdomen.
You look at him, catching your breath, hair sticking to your forehead. Max chuckled “If you look this fucked out on my fingers, I wonder what my cock does to to you”
You bite your lip and reach out to him, fingers hooking into his belt. Max raised his eyebrows at you but smirks “Go ahead” He nods and you unbuckle his belt. He moves backwards on the bed to stand back up and take his pants off.
“You’re still clothed” You say, sitting on your knees now, tilting your head and pointing at his boxers. Max chuckled “Impatient, are we?” He smirks but you cross your arms “Alright, alright” He chuckled, taking off his underwear too and crawling back above you, pushing you back on your back.
You hold the eye contact but flicker to his lips. His hands reached for the nightstand and takes something off it. “You wanna do it?” You look at the condom. Where the hell did that thing come from and when did he even place it there?
But your thoughts were interrupted when max kissed your jaw “Hm?” “I wanna do it” You whisper “Alright then” He holds the pack up to your mouth and you gently grab it with your teeth, to not damage anything.
You both sit back up, and you rip open the package. You place it on his cock and out of the corner of your eye you can see his hands clenching, holding back from touching you. You smirks and roll the condom down.
Max squeezed his eyes shut and mumbled a quiet ‘fuck’ You keep moving your hand up and down his cock “Sweetheart, no- oh fuck” You thighten your grip slightly, making Max gasp.
“That’s not what- oh” His breath quickens “I’m just making sure it’s on properly” You smile innocently, and before you can say anything else, his hand grips your throat “You’re a minx. I’d be careful if I was you” “Oh yeah? What’re you gonna do?”
He smirks slowly and clenched his jaw “Nothing today. This is about you, but don’t think I’ll forget you being a little brat.”
You raise your eyebrows “Me? I would never” “You’ve never and you still..” Max cuts himself off “I forgot, you read” You smile “Not so innocent, are you baby?” He smiles and pulls you in by your throat.
His lips press against yours and he pulls away again, making you try and chase him, which doesn’t work with his hand around your throat.
He gently pushes you back down and presses gentle kisses around your neck, keeping your hips still with his hands.
“Max, please” He raised an eyebrow “Stop teasing. You don’t need to be a mind reader to know what I want. Please, I thought you wanted to make it up to me? “ You whine, making him press his lips together, nodding “I know, I know sweetheart. You’ll get what you want”
He lines himself up with you but looks up first “Tell me to go slower or stop, okay? You got the control on the pace” You nod, hand wrapping around his bicep.
He slowly pushes in, making you gasp. Your nails dig into his arm, making him hiss. Your scrunch your eyebrows together “Wait-fuck. A moment, please” Max stops immediately and looks up “You okay?” You nod “Just need a moment”
He nods and waits for your cue to move again. Your mouth opens in a soundless moan, which makes Max wrap his hand around your throat once again “Come on, don’t go shy on me now, Pretty girl. Let me hear you” You try to stop the restrain on your moans and Max stills inside you, once he’s in by the hilt.
“You tell me when to move, okay?” You nod, pulling him down for a kiss, your fingers tangling into his hair.
“Okay, you can move” He slowly pulls out and trusts back in. Your eyes widen as he continues the movement “Holy- Max” He chuckles and leans his head next to your ear, making you listen to his breathing.
“How are you feeling?” He says, quickly pecking your cheek “Good” “Yeah? Feels good?” You nod, eyes occasionally rolling into the back of your head.
“Told you we should’ve done this earlier- fuck” You grad the arm that is wrapped around your throat “Yeah? Bet you would’ve loved to be fucked everywhere, hm? Having to keep quiet if I actually fucked you in my drivers room, your own room or mine? Or on the italy vacation?”
“I don’t- I don’t know what you’re talking about” You get out between moans “No? Running around in those dresses, my god. And bending over every time I was around you? Total accident i’m sure” He growls, thightening his hold on your throat.
Your eyes roll into the back of your head once again at his action “you’re fucking filthy, aren’t you? If you like me chocking you, what else is it I will find when I fuck you, hm?” He smirks as you blush “Always the ones you thought were innocent” He chuckled as you silenced him with a kiss.
“Please, faster” Max gladly listens, picking up his pace and reaching down to play with your clit “Max- Oh god”
“You have no idea how long I wanted to do this to you. I don’t know how I kept away from you, but I won’t ever be able to ever again” Max’s breath gets heavier and his head hangs down.
“Harder” “Baby im already-“ “You’re not gonna break me” He lets out a breathless laugh “Jesus, you’re gonna be the death of me” He obliged either way and soon you could feel the pleasure creeping up on you.
Max felt your repeatedly clenching around him as his thrusts don’t falter “Are you close? Can feel you squeezing me so- oh my- fucking tight” You nod “Yeah? Wanna come on my cock? Be a good girl?” “Yeah, wanna be good- fuck”
He smirks at the effect he has on you, but his expression quickly turns into concern as tears roll down your cheeks and he starts to slow down “Hey-hey are you okay?” “Don’t stop, please max. Fuck, keep going”
It was then he realised you were crying because it just felt good “Not hurting, please I’m so close” He nods and picks up his pace again.
This time he picks up your hips a bit which earns him a loud moan “Oh- right there, max” He chuckled but continued pounding into you, as his own orgasm crept up on him.
“Yeah? Finally found it” He says more to himself than you but tries to continually hitting the spot, over and over again.
“Gonna cum, max. Don’t stop, don’t-“ “I won’t, let go baby. I got you, be a good girl” You pulled him down into a heated kiss as white hot please consumed every fibre of your body, your other hand gripping his shoulder, marking another part of him.
Your orgasm triggered his own and his hands grip your hips, probably bruising them slightly in the process.
His forehead rests on yours as you slowly come down from your high. Max slowly pulls out, which earns him a quiet hiss of you.
“Sorry” he mumbled and pulled the condom off to throw it in the trash.
* smut end * holy cow that was long 😭 Anyway.
“You want a bath or just lay here” Max whispered as he cuddled up to you “Just a moment. But a bath sounds nice too” “I’ll quickly turn on the water and be right back” You nod with closed eyes.
A few moments later you hear the water running and Max is back in the room, now in sweatpants “Why are you wearing those?” “Do you know how weird it feels to walk around naked?” He laughs and crawls back to you, pulling you onto his chest “Don’t fall asleep on me now. We still gotta clean you up”
“How can I not when you brush through my hair like that and cuddle me” You mumble “To bad, sweetheart. Still gonna have the bath” You don’t move and max laughs “Do I have to carry you?” “Mhm”
He chuckled again but picks you up “Let’s go then” You keep your eyes closed, leaning on his shoulder. “Can you open the door? My hands are quite occupied”
You smile and open the door. The warmth of the room immediately makes you feel even sleepier. He sets you down for a moment and closes the door.
“Come on, hop hop in there” “Don’t rush me” You say and hold a hand out “Yeah yeah” He picks you back up and you squeal “Max!” He slowly sets you down in the bathtub. He sits beside the tub and holds your hand, head resting on the side and looking at you.
“You’re staring.” “I know. But do you really care?” “No” You smile and look at him. His smile widens “Good.” He sits up properly to kiss you. Your hand draws shapes on his shoulder “Oh” “Hm?”
You chuckle “Did I do that?” You point to the countless scratches on his arms and shoulders “I think you did, yeah” He laughs “Even down here!” He looks at the lower part of his arm “How am I supposed to hide that?”
“Hoodie?” He looks at you deadpan “Hoodie? It’s like.. super hot outside?” “Then you’ll be smoking hot” He chuckled “You’re crazy” “Yet you’re still sitting here” Max nods “Yeah, somehow” You roll your eyes and lay back down.
comfortable silence fills the room. Max’s hand gently caressed your face as you calm down. You were right were you wanted to be, without any disturbance..right?

EPILOGUE | pt 2
Lalisa Manoban
Epilogue to The Debt Series.
5k words.
The debt series.
Tumblr media
( The final and final end of the debt series. The epilogue ends here too. )
As the morning lights peeks through, lisa gazed down at y/n with tender affection as he stirred awake, his sleepy eyes meeting hers. A soft smile played on her lips as he gently released her nipple, the loss of his warm touch eliciting a slight shiver from her.
“Good morning, my love.”
She murmured, her fingers tracing the contours of his face.
“Did you sleep well, nestled against me like that?”
Leaning down, she pressed a feather-light kiss to his forehead, her heart swelling with the depth of her love for this man. In this quiet, intimate moment, she felt a profound sense of belonging, of being cherished and adored beyond measure.
Shifting slightly, she guided his head back to its previous resting place, cradling him against her chest once more. The steady rhythm of her heartbeat and the warmth of her embrace were a soothing lullaby, lulling them both back towards the embrace of slumber.
Lisa giggled as she gazed down at y/n’s sleepy face.
“Oh my love, I’ll pull out your cock out now, okay? I need to go pee – I’ve been holding it all night because you were just so cute, having my nipple in your mouth like a newborn baby. Haha”
She laughed softly, her fingers gently guiding out y/n’s softening length from her warmth. As she withdrew, a gush of his spent pee spilled from her pussy, eliciting an exclamation from lisa.
“Whaaaat? You silly boy, you peed inside my pussy?”
She laughed, her tone playful and adoring.
y/n chuckled sheepishly, nuzzling against lisa’s chest.
“I couldn’t help it, my little slut. I was in such a deep, peaceful sleep with your nipple in my mouth and your warm pussy cradling my cock. I felt so relaxed and safe nestled in your embrace.”
Lisa smiled tenderly, running her fingers through his hair.
“I know, my darling. You were like a little babe, so content and at ease. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
She pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, her heart swelling with adoration.
Gently disengaging herself, lisa rose from the bed, her thighs glistening with the evidence of y/n’s essence. She paused, glancing back at him with a mischievous grin.
“Now, I really do need to go take care of that little mess you’ve created. Don’t go anywhere, my love. I’ll be back soon.”
With a wink, she sauntered off the bathroom, eager to clean herself up and return to y/n’s waiting arms, their bond stronger than ever.
After their refreshing shower, lisa emerged from the bathroom, droplets of water still clinging to her glistening skin. She held up a few outfits, turning to y/n with a playful pout.
“So, my love, what should I wear today?”
She asked coyly, already anticipating his response.
y/n chuckled, his gaze roaming hungrily over her bare form.
“You should wear nothing at all, my little slut,”
He purred, his voice dripping with desire.
“You’re mine, and you deserve to stay naked for me always.”
Lisa feigned a scolding expression, though the mischievous glint in her eyes betrayed her true feelings.
“Oh, you!”
She exclaimed, before relenting with a soft giggle.
“Alright then, if that’s what my daddy wants…”
Tossing the clothes aside, lisa sauntered towards y/n, her hips swaying seductively. She knew exactly how to play him, to keep him captivated and craving her touch. After all, she was his, body and soul, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
As she sauntered over to y/n she jumped onto his hands and kissed him hungrily, then she worked her hands guiding his soft cock into her asshole, y/n instantly realized something was wrong,
“Baby? Did someone else used you??”
Lisa’s eyes widened in feigned innocence as she gazed up at y/n.
“Oh, my love, I’m so sorry! A few days ago, I went shopping but forget my purse. To buy the things I needed, I… I offered my ass to the shopkeeper, not that I couldn’t pay it online but still I wanted some sex hehe that’s why.”
She bit her lip, her expression a mix of shame and contrition.
“But I promise, he didn’t cum inside me! I would never let anyone but you have me like that.”
y/n’s grip tightened possessively around her waist as he searched her face, his brow furrowed with concern.
“My darling, how could you do that? Your body belongs to me, and me alone.”
His voice was laced with a hint of possessiveness, yet tinged with the unyielding love he held for her.
Lisa nuzzled against his chest, her fingers soothing patterns on his skin.
“I know, my love, I know. It was a moment of weakness, but I swear it will never happen again. I’m yours, completely and utterly. Please, forgive me?”
y/n’s expression softened, and he pulled her into a deep, passionate kiss, his tongue exploring her mouth with a fierce intensity. When they finally parted, breathless, he gazed down at her with unwavering adoration.
“Of course I forgive you, my love. You are mine, and I will always cherish you.”
After giving forgiveness, he started guiding lisa up and down on his cock. Giving brutal thrusts inside her asshole.
The pain of y/n’s brutal, punishing thrusts inside her abused asshole was immediately eclipsed by a wave of pleasure for lisa. She knew that by confessing the shopkeeper incident, she would only incite y/n’s jealousy and possessiveness – and that was exactly what she craved.
As his hips slammed against her with bruising force, lisa cried out in a mix of agony and ecstasy. She wanted him to claim her, to mark her ass his own in the most primal way possible. The knowledge that she belonged to him, and him alone, sent tremors of delight through her body.
Tightening her muscles around his invading length, lisa met each of his thrusts with a desperate roll of her hips. She was his to use, his to punish, his to cherish – and in this moment, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
As y/n took lisa on the bed, he began ruthlessly ramming her abused asshole in the prone bone position. Suddenly, lisa’s phone rang – the caller ID displayed ‘eli’.
With a coy smile, lisa brought the phone to her ear, her voice dripping with false innocence. Concealing the depraved scene unfolding behind her.
“Eli, darling! What a lovely surprise.”
Her words were punctuated by the muffled slap of y/n’s hips against her flesh, but she maintained her composure, her eyes sparkling with wicked delight.
“I’m doing just fine, sweetie. In fact, I’m having a wonderful time with y/n.”
She bit her lip, stifling a moan as y/s’s cock plunged deeper into her aching asshole.
“But I miss you too.”
Lisa’s free hand gripped the bedsheets, her knuckles turning white as y/n’s relentless assault continued. She knew eli was none the wiser, and the thrill of her deception only heightened her pleasure.
Lisa’s eyes widened when she realized her slip-up. Quickly, she tried to change the subject, lying that she hadn’t said y/n’s name, but something else entirely.
“Oh, eli, I didn’t say y/n’s name, I said something else. But anyway, how are you? I was just telling you the family problem I had is all over now, but I think I’ll still stay here a little longer, if that’s okay with you.”
She smiled sweetly, hoping eli wouldn’t press the issue further. Her heart raced as she tried to cover her tracks, all while y/n continued his relentless pounding of her abused hole behind the scenes.
Lisa’s eyes darted nervously as eli questioned the suspicious sounds. She quickly turned her head back to y/n, mouthing her words ‘stop, just for a while’ with a pleading expression.
Her heart raced, knowing she had to think quickly to divert eli’s attention.
Turning back to the phone, lisa forced a calm smile.
“Oh, that? Its nothing, darling. Just the TV playing in the background. I’ll turn it down.”
She shot y/n a pointed look, silently urging him to hold off until she could steer the conversation in a different direction.
Eli still sounded unconvinced, but lisa pressed on.
“Anyway, as I was saying, the family issue is all resolved now. I’m just taking some time for myself and my family, you know? I hope you understand.”
She paused, her mind racing to come up with a plausible excuse.
“Actually, I was thinking of going shopping later. Would you like me to pick you up something?”
Lisa held her breath, praying that eli would be satisfied with her explanation and drop the subject. She couldn’t afford to let him discover the truth of her current situation – not when y/n’s relentless desire for her was so close to the surface.
“Fine, but put me on video call so I can see what’s really going on.”
Eli demanded.
Lisa gently turned onto her back, pulling the bedsheet up to cover her bare breasts. With a practiced hand, she grabbed y/n’s cock and skillfully guided it into her waiting, slick pussy, eliciting a moan of pleasure from her lips. As she connected the video call with eli, her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief.
“Look, darling, there’s nothing going on. I’m just relaxing on the bed.”
She purred, her voice laced with false innocence as y/n began to thrust into her, his movements slow and deliberate.
Lisa maintained eye contact with the camera, her expression serene, even as her body betrayed the carnal delights she was experiencing. She was a master at this game, adept at concealing her true activities from eli while indulging in the forbidden pleasures’ y/n offered.
With each subtle roll of her hips, lisa drove y/n deeper inside her, the familiar ache of fullness sending tingles of ecstasy through her core.
Lisa feigned innocence as she gazed up at the camera, her fingers trailing teasingly along y/n’s back.
“Who’s y/n, darling? I’m not sure I know who you’re talking about.”
Her words were punctuated by y/n’s aggressive thrusts, his cock plunging deeper into her slick heat. He leaned in a little close, his face straight behind the mobile.
‘You don’t know me, baby? Hmm, don’t you remember?’
He mouthed, his eyes smoldering with desire.
As eli explained that y/n was his bestfriend, lisa’s expression shifted to one of feigned realization.
“Oh, I see now! Yes, of course, y/n – your bestfriend. How could I have forgotton?”
She giggled coyly, her hips rolling in sync with y/n’s relentless pace.
Lisa’s eyes gleamed with mischief as she added,
“The one from whom you had taken a debt, right eli?”
Eli agreed, chuckling slightly.
“Yes, that friend. I still don’t understand how he suddenly cleared my debt,”
He said with a puzzled laugh.
Suddenly, y/n pushed lisa’s phone, causing it to fall. He then placed his hand over the microphone, his voice a low, menacing growl.
“Because I now own your girlfriend in return for your debt, you stupid eli.”
He said, laughing triumphantly.
Lisa laughed and giggled, picking up her phone.
“Oh, the phone just slipped out of my hands, darling. No need to worry!”
She said, her tone light and carefree, as she continued to ride y/n’s cock beneath the covers.
Lisa’s eyes gleamed with wicked delight as she whispered, her voice barely audible.
“Yeah, eli, in return of your debt, y/n owns me now. Haha, I’m so glad he owns me.”
Eli turned his head back to the camera, a puzzled look on his face.
“Did you say something, lisa?”
Lisa quickly schooled her features, flashing him an innocent smile.
“No, no, darling. I didn’t say anything.”
She knew she was playing a dangerous game, but the thrill of deceiving her unsuspecting boyfriend only fueled her growing arousal. y/n’s possessive claim over her sent a shiver of excitement through her body, and she couldn’t wait to see how this twisted situation would unfold.
Lisa let out an exaggerated yawn, her eyes drooping with feigned exhaustion.
“Oh, eli, darling, I’m just so tired from the flights and everything. I think I need to get some rest now, okay?”
She flashed him a weary smile, her fingers toying with the hem of the bedsheet.
Without waiting for his response, lisa ended the call, tossing the phone aside. Turning her attention to y/n, her expression morphed into one of unbridled desire.
“Now, where were we, my y/n??”
She purred, her hips rolling sensually against his.
y/n’s grip on her tightened, his eyes burning with possessive hunger.
“Right where you belong, my little slut, under my possession.”
He growled, pulling her into a searing kiss as he resumed his relentless thrusts, claiming her as his own once more.
y/n’s grip on lisa’s hips tightened with a possessive anger as he pounded into her pussy with relentless force. Lisa was lost in a haze of pleasure, her mind consumed by the feeling of y/n’s monstrous cock filling her completely. She was utterly enamored with him, her thoughts consumed by his dominating presence.
Each thrust sent shockwaves of ecstasy through her body, and she reveled in the sensation of being so thoroughly claimed. The pain had long since given way to unbridled bliss, and lisa knew in that moment that she belonged to y/n, body and soul.
Her back arched, her nails raking down his muscular back as she cried out in rapturous delight. Nothing else matter but the two of them, locked in this carnal embrace, lost in a world of their own making. Lisa had never felt so alive, so completely and irrevocably his.
Throughout the night, y/n’s relentless lust knew no bounds as he claimed lisa’s body in every corner of the hotel room. From the bathroom to the balcony, and even the small desk, on the floor, he ravaged her with a primal hunger that left her breathless and trembling.
Lisa reveled in his possessive dominance, her mind clouded with the intoxicating sensation of being so thoroughly used. When y/n dragged her out into the hotel hallway, pinning her against the wall as he ruthlessly plundered her pussy, lisa felt a thrill of excitement coursing through her veins.
Back inside the room, y/n continued his merciless assault, staking his claim over the body that he now owns as his sole property. Lisa’s cries of pleasure echoed through the suite, her every nerve ending alight with the euphoric pain of his punishing thrusts.
In this moment now, lisa belonged to y/n, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Her world had narrowed to the sensation of his cock filling her, his hands bruising her flesh, hid dominance consuming her completely. She was so lost in a haze of carnal bliss, her love for him brighter with each passing moment.
As the morning light streamed in through the window, y/n continued his relentless pounding of lisa’s pussy. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door – the room service had arrived.
Without missing a thrust, y/n shouted,
 “Come in!”
As he maintained his brutal pace, his hips slamming against lisa’s with unforgiving force.
Lisa’s eyes widened momentarily, a flicker of panic crossing her features. But then, a mischievous smile spread across her lips. Throwing caution to the wind, she arched her back, her moans of pleasure echoing through the room.
As the room service guy entered, y/n and lisa had already shifted to a new position, giving the intruder a clear view of the depraved scene unfolding before him. Lisa stood with her front to the door, in a sensual bend position, her tongue darting out as y/n’s powerful frame towering behind her as he pounded her relentlessly.
Tumblr media
The room service gur’s eyes widened in shock and delight at the sight of Lisa Manoban’s magnificent nude form, her body glistening with sweat as she was ravaged by y/n’s monstrous cock. A gleeful exclamation escaped his lips as he drank in the carnal spectacle.
Lisa met the man’s gaze, a wicked smile playing on her lips. She knew she should feel ashamed, but the thrill of being watched only heightened her arousal. Throwing caution to the wind, she arched her back now, pushing her ample breasts out as she gets ravaged by y/n’s cock with unbridled passion.
The room service guy stood transfixed, his mouth agape, as he witnessed the depraved display unfolding before him. Lisa reveled in his stunned reaction, her own pleasure building with each punishing thrust from y/n’s hips.
Lisa’s voice wavered slightly as the room service guy entered, but she maintained a polite and sweet demeanor.
“Oh, hello there. Please, go ahead and do your job. Thank you so much for coming.”
She flashed him a coy smile, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. The guy couldn’t help but marvel at lisa’s composure, even as she was being so thoroughly and roughly used by y/n.
“Wow, even when she’s getting ravaged like this, she still manages to talk so politely. What a slut she must be – I bet she’s a very experienced one,”
He thought to himself, his gaze drinking in the depraved scene.
As the room service guy cleaned the room, the air was thick with the scent of sex from lisa and y/n’s passionate night together. The guy spotted lisa’s discarded bra and panties near the bed,
Tumblr media
He discreetly slid them into his pocket, taking the opportunity while the couple remained oblivious.
Continuing his work, the guy found more evidence of the lust-filled night, but he couldn’t help but enjoy the show that lisa and y/n had put on for him. He marveled at lisa’s composure, even as she was being so thoroughly used by y/n’s monstrous cock.
The guy couldn’t help but feel a sense of voyeuristic thrill, witnessing the depraved scene unfold before his eyes. The temptation was too great. As he finished his task, he couldn’t help but wonder what other secrets this room might hold.
Upon completing his work, he comes near the bed, his jaw dropped as he took in the sight of lisa’s face, flushed with lust, her eyes rolled back and her tongue darting out.
Tumblr media
He was transfixed by the sheer debauchery of the scene unfolding before him.
y/n noticing the guy’s lustful hunger, asked bluntly.
“Hey, you. Do you want to kiss her?”
Lisa’s eyes snapped open at y/n’s words, a wicked grin spreading across her face. She locked eyes with the stunned staff member, silently daring him to make a move.
The room service guy’s eyes widened with lust as he eagerly accepted y/n’s offer. Approaching the bed, he gazed hungrily at lisa’s inviting expression, her mouth open slightly and her tongue darting out ever so teasingly.
Tumblr media
Without hesitation, the guy pushed his face against lisa’s, their lips crashing together in heated, hungry kiss. Lisa moaned into his mouth, the vibrations sending tingles of pleasure through the man’s body.
The guy relished the feeling of lisa’s soft lips and skilled tongue, losing himself in the depraved moment. y/n watched with a possessive gaze, his grip on lisa’s hips tightening as he continued to pound into her relentlessly.
The room filled with the sounds of their carnal activities, a symphony of moans, gasps, and the slick sounds of flesh against flesh. Lisa was in her element, reveling in the attention and indulging in her insatiable desires.
The heated kiss continued until lisa tapped the man’s face, gasping for breath as they parted. The guy looked at her with a grateful expression.
“Thank you. Can I… can I leave now?”
He asked hesitantly.
Lisa teased him, her voice dripping with seduction.
“Oh, but I was really hoping you’d stay. I’d love to give your cock a few sucks and taste your cum.”
She purred, her eyes sparkling with lust.
The man’s eyes lit up with hunger and excitement at the thought of Lisa Manoban wanting to pleasure him.
“I-I would really love that,”
He stammered,
“But can I come back tonight? Because in the night I’m the horniest, so in the night I’ll be able to use you more thoroughly. And I can’t really do it now or I’ll lose my job.”
Lisa considered his request, a coy smile playing on her lips.
“Hmm, I suppose that will have to do. But don’t keep waiting too long, darling. I’ll be aching for a taste of you.”
She said, her tone laced with promise.
As the room service guy left, y/n playfully spanked lisa’s ass, scolding her.
“What were you thinking, begging for his cock and cum, huh? You stupid slut.”
Lisa giggled at his jealous scolding, feeling a thrill at riling him up. She turned her head over her shoulder, poking her tongue out teasingly.
“Aww, don’t be like that baby. You know I only want your big, hard cock inside me.”
Pulling her back against his chest, y/n growled possessively.
“Damn right, you do filthy whore. This pussy belongs to me, and me alone. Don’t forget that you, insatiable whore.”
Lisa moaned, grinding her hips against his.
“Then why don’t you remind me, hmm? Show me who I really belong to.”
With a feral grin, y/n flipped her over, pinning her to the bed as he resumed his relentless pounding, determined to leave no doubt in her mind about who owned her body and soul.
y/n’s grip on lisa tightened as he began to fuck her with brutal, angry force. His hips slammed against hers relentlessly, determined to remind her that she belonged to him and him alone.
Lisa cried out, her back arching as the pleasure-pain of his punishing thrusts sent shockwaves through her body. She knew better than to defy him – this was her punishment for her earlier teasing and flirtation.
Gripping the sheets, lisa surrendered herself completely to y/n’s possessive onslaught. Her mind was hazy with lust, every nerve ending alight with the sensation of being so thoroughly claimed. This was her place, here beneath him, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
As y/n’s relentless pace continued, lisa felt a familiar coil of ecstasy building within her. She was his, body and soul, and the knowledge of this drove her wild with unbridled desire. With each bruising thrust, she was reminded of her true purpose – to serve and please her master her y/n.
y/n’s hips pistoned relentlessly as he neared his climax. Leaning in close to lisa’s ear, her growled.
“I hope you’re not on birth control, you little slut. I’m going to fill your womb completely.”
Lisa’s eyes widened at his words, a thrill of excitement coursing through her. The thought of being bred, oh having y/n’s seed flooding her most intimate depths, sent her spiraling into a frenzy of lust. She cried out, her inner walls clamping down as her orgasm crashed over her.
y/n roared in triumph, his hips slamming home as he emptied himself into lisa’s waiting womb. Wave after wave of hot, thick cum poured into her, coating her insides and sealing her fate as his personal breeding vessel.
Spent, y/n collapsed atop her, his breathing ragged. Lisa clung to him, a delirious smile on her face. She knew that from this moment on, she would be forever changed – bound to y/n by the most primal of bonds. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
As y/n’s cock finally began to soften, lisa let out an elated exclamation.
“Oh, y/n! fuck this feels sooooo good, I’m so breeed with your seeeed my love. You came so much inside me.”
Her eyes shone with a mixture of excitement and mischief.
Trailing her fingers along his chest, lisa gazed up at him adoringly.
“I want nothing more than to carry your child, y/n. to have your seed growing inside me, to be completely and utterly yours. Please, make me a mother. I’m ready to be bred again and again.”
The thoughts of lisa’s womb swelling with his child sent a possessive thrill through y/n. He pulled her into a bruising kiss, his hands roaming her body possessively.
“That’s my good girl. You’re going to be the perfect breeding bitch for me, aren’t you? I’m going to fill you up until you’re dripping with my cum.”
Lisa moaned into the kiss, her hips rolling against his in eager anticipation.
She was ready to take the next step in their carnal journey, to cement her place y/n’s devoted, fertile mate.
With his softened cock still buried inside her, y/n began to thrust again, his movements gradually picking up speed and intensity. Lisa gazed up at him, a coy smile playing on her lips.
“Ohh, does breeding me excite you that much, my love??”
She teased, her hips rolling to meet his punishing thrusts.
y/n’s grip on her tightened, his eyes burning with possessive desire.
“Fuck yes, it does,”
He growled, slamming into her with renewed fervor.
“I’m going to breed you over and over until you’re swollen with my children.”
Lisa moaned in delight, reveling in the sensation of being so thoroughly claimed. She knew her place was here, beneath y/n, serving as his fertile vessel. And in that moment, there was nowhere else she’d rather be.
As the days passed, y/n made sure to continuously breed lisa with his potent seed whenever he had to attend meetings outside the hotel. While he was away, he ensured that lisa’s womb remained well-filled with his virile cum, keeping her in a constant state of satisfied arousal.
When y/n returned in the evenings, he would ravage lisa’s body once more, pounding into her relentlessly and flooding her fertile depths with even more of his seed. Lisa reveled in this, her body and mind consumed by the primal need to be bred by her dominant partner.
Each time y/n claimed her, lisa felt a thrill of excitement, knowing that she was one step closer to becoming pregnant with his child. She craved the sensation of his hot release coating her inner walls, sealing her fate as his personal breeding vessel.
With each passing day, lisa’s belly grew more swollen, the evidence of y/n’s virility plain for all to see. And through it all, she remained utterly devoted to him, her sole purpose to serve as the vessel for his offspring.
As the business trip came to an end, lisa had been breed and impregnated by y/n countless times over the past two weeks. His potent seed had flooded her womb repeatedly, leaving her body swollen with the promise of new life.
Upon returning home, lisa faced the challenge of reuniting with her boyfriend eli. The contrast between her sweet, loving relationship with eli and the depraved, submissive dynamic with y/n created a complex emotional landscape for lisa to navigate.
Yet, the insatiable hunger for y/n’s touch never abated. Each weekend, lisa would eagerly make her way to y/n’s residence, her body tingling with anticipation. Once there, she would surrender herself completely to his carnal desires, becoming his obedient, breeding slut once more.
YN would claim her again and again, filling her womb with his seed and ensuring she remained perpetually pregnant with his children. The sounds of their lust-filled encounters would echo through the walls, a testament to their primal connection.
Afterwards, Lisa would return to Eli, her body still humming with the lingering effects of YN's possession. She would cherish the tender moments with her boyfriend, but the knowledge of her depraved activities with YN would always linger in the back of her mind, fueling her insatiable hunger.
This delicate balance, this duality of her life, was a constant source of excitement and torment for Lisa. But she wouldn't have it any other way, for she was YN's devoted, breeding slut, and that was the role she was born to play.
As the months passed, Lisa's belly grew ever more swollen with YN's countless children. One month, YN took Lisa to the hospital to check on her wellbeing during the pregnancy. The doctor, upon examining Lisa, couldn't believe his eyes.
“My goodness, how on earth are you pregnant with this many children?”
the doctor exclaimed in disbelief.
Lisa shamelessly replied with a giggle,
“Well, you see, my love y/n is just so insatiable.”
She laughed, reveling in the doctor's shock.
After the visit, Lisa returned home to Eli, eager to share the news of her pregnancy. Eli, none the wiser, believed the child was his, unaware that these children were the result of YN's relentless breeding.
Lisa, however, knew the truth. She cherished the tender moments with Eli, but her heart belonged to YN, the man who had claimed her as his devoted, fertile mate. The duality of her life only fueled her insatiable desires, as she eagerly awaited her next tryst with her master.
As the months turned into years, Lisa's bond with YN deepened to an all-consuming love. She had become utterly devoted to him, forgetting about her boyfriend Eli almost entirely. Her life now revolved around YN, the man who had claimed her as his own.
Day in and day out, YN continued to breed Lisa, filling her womb with his endless seed. Lisa reveled in this, her body swollen with the fruits of their carnal union. She cherished every moment, knowing that this was her true purpose - to be YN's fertile, obedient mate.
The debt that YN had given to Eli had opened up a new life for Lisa, one that she embraced wholeheartedly. She and YN were both grateful for this arrangement, as it had allowed them to indulge in their primal desires without restraint.
Lisa's days were now filled with the blissful sensations of YN's possession. She had found her true calling, and she wouldn't trade it for anything. This was her life now, and she was determined to savor every moment of it, basking in the love and devotion of her insatiable master, her true love Y/N.

Been thinking about HC fan discussion shifting over the last few years to become more focused on individual creators, and I think the reduced prominence of the Recap could be a contributing factor?
Speaking from my own experience as having gotten into HC in Season 6 along with Grian, I started watching Recap from the S6 Day One video (I was already familiar with the concept thanks to Evo in a Nutshell, which was openly inspired by HC Recap, so it was easy for me to get into), and it was really formative for getting to know all the hermits and HC in general.
I think it ties into what you said about engaging with the server as a whole, because even if you don't watch every hermit, with Recap you get to learn their names, hear their voices, and get exposed to their personality, projects, interests, and running jokes. It presented HC as an interconnected community, where all the hermits came together to create a collective art piece (the server itself). That sense of community has always been one of my favourite things about HC tbh
Recap also made it much easier for me to get into new hermits throughout s6/s7, bc I was already loosely familiar with who they were and what they were doing, so I could jump in midway through their season, or watch a one-off episode, without being too lost!
Meanwhile, with lots of people getting into HC through Life Series (and likely not being exposed to Recap), I think it's easy for people to just... stick with people they already know? And I don't blame anyone for watching people they like (time/energy for videos is limited, and plenty of my favourites are in Life Series too), but it also feels bad to see the work of so many hermits go unappreciated in their own community, especially when there was more of an effort to include them in the past :(
We need a new wave of Recap appreciation posts I think
I think this is very true. Lots of people just regurgitate Life series povs to people asking on the Reddit who to watch when you could just do Recap and didn’t they make a whole flowchart of who to watch? (Outdated but still a useful reference)
Unironically we need to bring back 2021 level of propaganda. Like whole posts on Hermitcraft propaganda that introduce all the listed hermits and their uniqueness. Sure, everyone has preferences, but they brand themselves as a server, so we should also brand them as a server. I do find it realllyyyyy weird that this phenomenon got worse after HC9 when HC9 had TCG (includes all hermits and “quirks” about them) and Decked Out (huge event that involved many hermits, including non Lifers). The hermits are literally producing merch as a server. It’s a game that appreciates each of them. The audience loves TCG too so ?? ??????
Another thing is that for me, sometimes I feel like I’m yelling into the void with my posts so I end up in a circle of people who main the same people (since we interact and talk to each other) and I don’t have the energy to do more because again, yelling into the void sucks. So I’m also part of the “problem”.

it’s you she’s thinking of (1/?)
pairing: severus snape x fem!reader
summary: reader is friends with the marauders, but after standing up for severus snape, james and sirius ignore them. reader struggles faintly with guilt but knows they did the right thing and try’s to make amends with severus.
notes: 1.6k words!! this is a series I’m committed to finishing rn. trying to get my creativity back slowly but surely. anyway, I hope you enjoy enough to read the coming parts!
Tumblr media
You watched as James waved his wand at Severus. You knew it was wrong. Not only that, but you, as well as Remus and Peter knew you should help him. A small crowd formed as James lifted Severus, Sirius, and the crowd shouted awful names at him. “I think that's quite enough James.” Remus puts a hand on James' shoulder.
“No, this is what he gets!” James shrugs Remus off in between laughs. Sighing, you look to Remus as a crowd grows larger. You pull out your wand from your robes. “Expelliarmus!” you shout, wand pointed at James. His wand hits the ground as well as Severus who hits the dirt. The crowd bursts out laughing and James looks at you in disbelief.
You stare back at him. You've never seen him take it this far. You knew he didn't like Severus, and you also didn't know why. But you knew that nobody deserved to be treated like this.
“So you're his friend now?” James raises his voice at you. You shake your head. “No, I'm not. But nobody deserves this, James!” You turn away from him and head toward Severus. You hold out a hand to help him, but he flinches.
“Severus…” you whisper. He gives you a quick glance through his dark hair and quickly gets up by himself. “I don't need your help.” He murmurs angrily and storms up toward the castle.
_
You move your food around your plate the whole time during dinner. You're currently sitting in front of Remus and Peter at the far end of the Gryffindor table as James and Sirius have shunned you out. Peter and Remus being the saints they are, sat with you.
“Look y/n, you tried, that's all that matters. If Severus wants to be a prick about it, so what?” Peter blurted out. Remus only nods. “You don’t understand… I let it happen. I feel so bad.
I should've told them to stop before it got bad. Truthfully, I didn't know it was this bad.” You sigh.
“You couldn't have known y/n. Don't dwell on it. And eat, you'll feel better.” Remus offers a small smile.
“No, I'm not hungry.” You say pushing your food away. “I'll see you guys tomorrow, okay? Goodnight.” You get up from the table and give them a small wave. Pushing open the doors of the great hall you look back one more time toward the Slytherin table and see Severus staring back at you. He quickly looks away, and you walk toward Gryffindor tower.
_
The next morning you wait in the common room for your friends to head down for breakfast as always. But today as James and Sirius step out into the common room, they barely spare you a glance and walk down for breakfast by themselves. You sit back down sighing and wait for Peter and Remus. They exit their room and give you sad smiles. “Good-morning.” They mumble. Peter seemed antsy.
“Good Morning. You guys don't have to walk with me if you don't want to. I know they told you not to speak to me.” You sigh, opening the doors to exit the tower. Remus glares at peter. “They did! But we told them no… Of course!” Peter blurts. Remus sighs. “We weren't supposed to tell you.” he confesses, rolling his eyes. You don't respond. Continuing walking down to the great hall.
“It’s okay, really. You can sit with them if you'd like. I don't mind sitting alone.” You say opening the doors to the great hall. You continue walking to the far end of the Gryffindor table. They follow behind you. You sit and they sit across from you. “Y/n listen to us. We want to sit with you. What you did yesterday was very noble. We won't not be your friend just because they told us to. What they did to Severus was wrong. So, we want to sit with you.” Remus exhales. Peter nods.
You take their hands in yours. “Thank you guys. You don't know how much I appreciate it.” You smile. Peter pulls his hands out first. “Now, let's eat. I'm starving.” He says. You all laugh and fill your plates.
_
After breakfast, the three of you follow the crowd out of the great hall. Remus drops you and peter off at potions before heading off to his first class of the day. A jolly professor slughorn greets the both of you along with the rest of the fifth year Gryffindor and Slytherin. Slughorn instructs you all to follow him to one of the stations. All the students huddle up around the station and watch as Slughorn demonstrates the potion he wants you to make today. It's fairly simple, but you know Peter won’t understand. Potions is not his strongest suit. “Questions?” Slughorn asks.
A small Slytherin girl raises her hand. “Yes, Ms…?” “Pierce.” She smiles. “Will we be working with our desk mates?” “Excellent question Ms. Pierce! No, you will not.” The class sighs. You and Peter both look at each other. You shrug. “Today, you have been assigned random partners! An exceptional way to get to know each other. Perhaps make a new friend!” Slughorn suggests. The Slytherin's groan.
Slughorn chuckles. “You can find out who your partner is up there.” Slughorn points to the chalkboard. The class walks up the board and either sigh or smile at who they got. Most of them have to ask who their partners are. You and Peter are one of the last to take a look at the list and Peter looks pretty put off seeing who he got. You scan the list for your name. Next to yours is Severus Snape.
You look around the room and see Severus already looking at you. You wonder how long he's been doing that. You look away quickly and give Peter a small wave.
Walking toward Severus, you offer him a smile. He doesn't return it. Instead, already walking to claim a station. You quickly follow behind him. You stand opposite him at a station you're sharing with two other Slytherin's. You pull out your potions book and scan the pages for the one you're making. Severus doesn't bother. He ties up his hair and starts setting up the ingredients. You study his face. You don’t understand how James or anyone could insult his looks. You snap out of your thoughts and look around the room, hearing the loud chatter. Even Peter and his partner are speaking. Civilly, unlike the others. “So we're just not going to talk then?” you look at him. Severus hums. “Okay then.” You say with a tight-lipped smile.
You look around again, bored. “Can I at least help you? I know I’m not the best at potion making, and you’d rather work on your own, but I can help.” You exclaimed. The two Slytherin's stifle their laughs. You roll your eyes and wait for his response.
“You're making a scene.” He says. “You can clean up after me. I don’t need to be embarrassed again.” He doesn't look at you. “Great.” You sigh.
_
The class has finished their potions, and Professor Slughorn is inspecting them. He finally reaches your station and drops a small leaf in. “Merlin's beard! It is absolutely perfect! 5 points to Gryffindor and Slytherin for amazing collaboration.” Slughorn smiles. The class claps and you thank him and smile softly. You try not to look disappointed. You knew you hadn’t earned it, but your house desperately needed the points because of James and Sirius's pranks.
Severus politely thanks Slughorn and goes back to his original desk. You keep your promise of cleaning up after him and clean the small spills and tiny leaves he left behind and put some ingredients back on the shelves. The bell rings and Peter waits for you to finish. You collect your books and head out the door with peter. “All went well I suppose?” You ask. “Terribly well. I'm glad she did most of the work. I probably would have made it explode somehow.” You both laugh.
Remus spots the both of you and walks beside you. You greet each other. You walk Peter and Remus to their respective classes as you have a free period. You say goodbye to Remus and walk around the castle. Turning the corner you spot Severus sitting on a bench in the courtyard alone, book in hand. You have nothing better to do so you walk toward him.
You sit beside him, and he looks up at you. You smile having finally got his attention.
“What could you possibly want y/n?” he murmurs grumpily. “Nothing. Just nowhere to be.” You shrug. “What does that have to do with me?” He responds, trying to look busy with his book.
“I Just wanted to speak to you. Look, Severus… I'm really sorry about James and Sirius. I know I'm not supposed to be apologizing on their behalf, but I feel partially responsible.” Lifting your head to see if he's listening you continue as he pretends he isn’t. “I feel responsible for not having stopped them from doing any of this to you.” You shake your head. “And I'm also sorry for embarrassing you even more by dropping you like that. I haven't been paying much attention in charms. I just wanted to stop him.” You exhale. You turn to look at him, waiting for a response. Severus is staring into the distance. You follow his line of sight and see James and Sirius staring at the both of you, shaking their heads, scoffing and walking away.
Severus sighs as he gets up from his spot on the bench. “Thank you.” He moves his hair out of his face, a polite smile barely gracing his lips. You nod, staying seated on the bench smiling as you watch him walk away.

How to Write Women, a quick guide by me
Hello! I was recently inspired to write a series of educational posts so I thought maybe it would be useful for someone.
I want to preface this that there is no criticism intended. I understand that female characters in general have been neglected in media, and I don't blame fandom for not understanding how to write a woman if there hasn't been a good reference in their lives.
My objective is that you, the reader, finish this post with a basic structure and few questions to ask yourself when writing a female character; and with the terms and curiosity to research more if you'd like to expand.
I'm no professional writer, but I've been writing for more than 20 years at this point, and I specialize in writing female protagonists and writing organic romantic storylines.
Here we go.
I want to write a woman, where do I start?
Writing women, at the end of the day, is no different than writing a man. Really, that's the trick.
Disappointed I'm not giving some kind of hot takes about this?
Good.
Because it should be that simple, but to get to that point we should unravel some baseline thought process that can and will get in the way even if you try to write a good female character.
A few questions to ask yourself are:
Why am I writing this character?
Does she have agency in her own story?
Does she have her own goals and aspirations?
Let's break them down:
Why am I writing this character?
What do I like about her? Is she annoying? Is she a hero? A villain? An antagonist? What thing do I like about her canon characteristics (for fanfic writers)? What would I change?
As mentioned at the beginning, female characters usually are not very well written. They are usually fridged or used only as a reminder that MC (usually a man) has emotions and vulnerabilities.
Take a moment to think about it. Think about the feelings her character gives you, and what are the things you do know about her. Think about wasted potential, or unanswered questions about her actions and plot lines that left you wanting more.
If you find her annoying, wonder why — usually, a female character being "annoying" or "not interesting" is tied to her not being developed enough, and pushed into a one-dimensional role. Pay attention at how many speaking lines she has, that usually gives you a clue of how much her character is developed.
Once you have decided who you want to write, this is where it gets interesting.
What kind of story do you want to tell? What role does she play in it?
When making the structure of the story and developing the plot, wonder about how exactly the female character(s) add to the table. Again, female characters can fulfill any role in a story, but watch out!
Bitchy mean girl lesbian
Motherly mommy mom/sister/friend that takes care of everyone
The "healer" of the team
These 3 roles have been used as boxes to fit female characters for ages. Be careful if you think you are pushing her into one of these.
But how can you avoid the tropes?
Does she have agency in her own story?
Or: if you remove her from the story, nothing changes?
Go into your mind palace, and remove the interactions and scenes the female character is in. Does the story still work? Could her lines be easily delivered by someone else?
If the answer is yes, then she doesn't have any agency.
It doesn't matter if she is a main character or a supporting character — she should have a say on the events or some kind of influence in the development of the plot.
Maybe she has a skill that is needed multiple times during the story, or maybe she has past experiences that are a mystery and unraveling her secrets reveals a plot twist, or maybe turns out she was the traitor all along. Make her MATTER.
Does she have her own goals and aspirations?
Or: Is she existing for someone else's sake?
This one is useful for the "mommy" character or the "healer" character.
Go into your mind palace again and think if you remove the female character's loved ones from the equation, does she have something to do?
If the answer is no, then she doesn't exist for herself.
She could still love and take care of others, but she has to exist for something else than that. Make her dream and yearn, and make mistakes, and sacrifice thing for selfish reasons.
Romance is usually a goal given for female characters (and that's a whole other topic I hope to write another post about), and it's a good one! Just be careful with falling for the trap of swapping the people (usually men) she exists for.
Give her hidden agendas, convoluted selfish secret reasons, make her want to destroy the world! Make her want to pursue the truth, chase someone for revenge, be a thrill seeker. Make her HUMAN.
In Conclusion
A quick trick I use when I write female characters is: If I swap her gender, nothing changes?
Of course there's nuance, but that keeps me grounded when even the questions I went over in this post are not enough for me.
Again, writing female characters should not be that different from writing men. If it feels different, ask yourself why and try to understand where the thought comes from.
NOTE: If the point of the story is to discuss the problem of codependency, or portray a toxic relationship, by all means skip checking about agency or her having goals. Rules are there to break them, but first you have to understand them.
I hope this helps someone and I will add and edit this post as needed, maybe to add useful links.
Happy writing!

The Middle
Tumblr media
You’re having trouble breathing. You’re having literal trouble breathing.
The shiromuku is so heavy and tied so tightly that it feels like each breath you take requires a monumental effort. There’s an ache forming in your shoulders from the pure weight of it all. You’ve spent so much of your life in kimono that you can put one on blindfolded. But this? This wedding kimono is another beast entirely.
“It’s a bit tight,” you wince, causing the two women currently in the process of tying the obi around your middle in an extravagant knot to softly titter.
“I know. It’s all a bit cumbersome,” the older woman in front of you commiserates before smiling at you so kindly that it alleviates your discomfort for a brief moment. “But it’s worth it. You look beautiful, just as every bride should. Your husband is a lucky man.”
You let out a noncommittal hum, which is cut short by a soft grunt when the woman behind you gives your obi a particularly harsh yank.
“How did the two of you meet?” she asks, trying to distract you from how uncomfortable you feel as they continue to tie you up in beautiful silk.
“We grew up together,” you reply, deciding the simplest answer is the easiest.
“Ah, so fate put you both on the same path,” she observes with a soft smile and her words have you suddenly feeling breathless for a reason entirely unrelated to the thick layers of fabric wrapped around you.
“I guess so,” you murmur, but before you can lose yourself in your thoughts, you wince when your obi is given one final tug.
“There we go,” the older attendant behind you declares proudly as she adjusts the obi knot. As difficult as it physically is to do so, you sigh with relief knowing that the fussing is almost over. It’s been over an hour by this point. “All that’s left is the uchikake.”
One of the women lifts up the final and thickest layer that will be worn over your kimono. You reach out to gently trace the beautiful designs embroidered on the white silk. As your finger follows the outline of a crane’s beak, you can’t help the frown that forms on your lips.
“Can we take a break?” you ask and there’s a pause at your unexpected request.
“O-of course,” the attendant in front of you says as she carefully places the uchikake back in its box before she and the other woman leave the room.
When you hear the door close behind you, your posture droops as much as it can in such a restrictive kimono. Instinctively, you tug at the collar to try and loosen it slightly at the neck only to immediately worry that you’ve ruined the women’s hard work.
You turn towards the room’s floor-length mirror and feel a rush of relief when you see that the collar appears untouched. Your eyes then drift to take in your full reflection for the first time and your lips part slightly in surprise.
So much of your life has been dictated by tradition — from the way you were raised to the clothing you had been made to wear to the marriage that your father tried to arrange for you — that the last thing you wanted was a traditional Shinto wedding ceremony. However, as you see how beautiful the shiromuku is, and how elegant you look in it, you’re in awe.
But the longer you look at yourself, the more reality begins to set back in until the small frown on your face is reflected at you in the mirror. Without the distraction of the two women dressing you in such an elaborate garment, all you’re left with is the image of someone you don’t recognize — or rather the image of a future that you never envisioned for yourself.
Eventually, the reflection becomes too much and you turn away from it to look out the window into the shrine’s gardens. When you see how dreary the weather is as it continues to rain like it’s been doing all morning, you sigh and rest your forehead against the glass. Your fingertip follows the path of a raindrop as it runs down the window’s surface and you absently wonder if the weather is a poor omen for your marriage.
Not that an omen would matter now, considering you and Kai have already filed your paperwork and have been legally married for weeks. This ceremony is just that — ceremonial. So you’re not what it is that has you feeling so out of sorts.
Maybe it’s the chaos of the last months. Your mind has been a mess as you’ve tried to navigate your grief for your father, your guilt over not having returned home sooner, your indecisiveness about what you were going to do next, and your conflicting feelings toward marrying Kai.
You hear the door open behind you and brace yourself for the gentle scolding that you’re about to receive from one of the attendants for wrinkling your kimono with your slouched posture. You drop your hand to your side with a soft sigh.
“Can I have just another minute or two?” you ask, not quite ready to bear the weight of the thick uchikake that they’ve come to drape you in.
But when you look over your shoulder, it’s not the attendants who have entered — it’s Kai.
Your eyes widen at the sight of him in his montsuki haori hakama. While you of course knew what a groom wore during a Shinto ceremony, seeing Kai in the outfit stuns you. With the black haori, matching kimono, and striped hakama, he looks every bit the part of the Hassaikai’s wakagashira.
He’s always looked good in the suits he wears, but there’s something about seeing him dressed so traditionally that makes your cheeks feel warm. When your gaze finally returns to his face, you’re relieved that he’s chosen to wear a simple black face mask like you’re accustomed to seeing him in rather than the beak-like one that you detest.
As your eyes meet his, you give him a weak smile and turn back to the window. His steps are soft against the tatami as he moves to join you.
“It’s raining,” you needlessly point out with a small frown.
“Rain washes things clean,” he replies and somehow, the simple statement manages to put you slightly at ease. Silence settles over you both and the longer that it stretches on, the louder you hear the attendant’s words echoing in your head.
“One of the women said something when she was dressing me,” you eventually blurt out. When you hesitate, he gives you a hum to continue. “She said fate put us on the same path.”
Even without looking at him, you can tell that the sentiment pleases him.
“She’s right. This is where you belong.” It’s such an expected response that you would feel annoyed if your mind wasn’t already so preoccupied.
“With the Hassaikai?” you gently scoff.
“With me,” he’s quick to answer, his firm tone giving you pause.
You glance at him to find that his attention is already focused on you rather than the view of the garden. The weight of his gaze feels almost as heavy as your shiromuku and when you can no longer meet it, you look back out the window.
“How…” you begin before trailing off. You hesitantly bite your lip as you consider your words. “How do you think Dad will react when he finds out we’re married?”
You try not to linger on how your question is predicated on the optimistic assumption that your father will wake from his coma. When Kai doesn’t immediately answer you, you sigh.
“He’ll probably be happy,” you say dryly. “All that work he did to force me into marrying a yakuza and he got what he wanted in the end.”
An unexpected wave of exhaustion overwhelms you, and you bring a tired hand to your forehead. You’re certain that right now, you’re the antithesis of a blushing bride.
“I told the old man I would marry you.”
Your hand drops at the sudden admission and when you turn to him with wide eyes, you find that he’s now looking out the window.
“When he tried to marry you off, marry you away, I told him that you should marry me.” His frown is hidden beneath his mask, but you can see the tension lining his eyes. “But he said no.”
The questions come to you in a flurry. Why did your father turn him down? Why didn’t Kai tell you? How long has he been planning this? Has he been waiting years to marry you? How different would your life be if you had married him? Does any of it really matter now that you are married?
But with all of the questions that your mind is racing with, there’s one that comes to the surface. Is he in love with you?
You feel stupid for thinking it. It’s a dumb thing for a wife to wonder about her husband, even if the labels are still new. But mostly, the idea of love is something that you’ve never considered of Kai.
You’re not so naive as to think that his intentions toward you have only ever been chaste or innocent. In fact, innocent is a word you would never use to describe him. He’s spent enough nights in your bed over the years for you to know that he’s attracted to you on at least a physical level.
Likewise, you’re not blind to his faults. He’s a dangerous man who does violent work. He’s obstinate to a frustrating degree. And his nature has always been possessive — of the Shie Hassakai’s power and reputation, of the territory that he perceives as rightfully theirs, and of you.
Maybe for him, that is love.
And he’s always watched over you. He’s protected you. He never abandoned you. He kept you from harm. That’s more important than something as ephemeral as love could ever be.
“What were you going to do? If I ended up married to some other yakuza?” you finally ask. When Kai turns to face you, you’re unsurprised by the dark look in his eyes.
“I would have killed him.” His response is a threat, but there’s no heat or anger in his tone. He tells you his plan to free you from a forced marriage with the same sort of indifference he would if he were telling you the sky is blue.
You should probably be horrified that he’s talking so easily about murdering someone. But the tears that you can feel beginning to form aren’t from fear. You take a step toward him and close the gap between you before dropping your forehead to his chest. A gloved hand immediately comes up to rest on the back of your neck and keep you close.
“Always looking out for me, huh?” you murmur with a wet laugh, a faint smile tugging at your lips. He gives your neck a reassuring squeeze.
Ever since you first brought Kai to your father all those years ago, he’d treated him like the son he never had. You had seen him look past Kai’s flaws as easily as you always have. But if his adopted son had openly gone against him to kill the man he intended for you to marry, you don’t know what he would have done.
He was willing to risk it all to keep you safe. If that isn’t love, then you’re not sure what is — you don’t care what it is. To you, it’s everything.
You clutch the fabric on his haori in a pitiful attempt to tug him closer. Despite your best efforts, you can feel a tear escape and roll down your cheek. You quickly brush it away with another sniffle.
Once you no longer feel like you’re about to shed any further tears, you lift your head, although his hand on your nape doesn’t let you go far. Slowly, your hand releases its grip on him and you run your palm over the material to smooth over any wrinkles you may have caused.
Your gaze settles on the symbol embroidered over his chest — the Shie Hassaikai’s emblem in place of where a family crest would traditionally be. You carefully trace the white thread.
“You know, it suits you,” you tell him with a soft smile. You glance up at him and nod meaningfully to his haori, the one in the style of the Shie Hassaikai’s kumicho. With an affectionate touch, you then straighten the front of his kimono, although it’s a needless gesture. You then give him a gentle push. “Get out of here. I have to finish getting ready.”
