Author's Note — I've been thinking for a while writting these whole list about my general headcanons and interpretations based of my own views and the canonical behaviour towards Reala and I want to put tonight these views.

Warning: I use She/Them for Reala and slight mention of stalking, not too much suggestive stuff or anything triggering so dw abt it much lmao

[ • ] General —

Okay, we all know that Reala is told many times as Wizeman's most loyal servant and the right hand henchman — But let's not take it in too extreme level. They won't betray Wizeman way far easily in comparison of NiGHTS' who rebelled against Wizeman after changing their point of view of the world and his work;

Reala's loyalty to Wizeman is not by a blind devotion, if you think about it, and yes there will have fear in the middle of this as well, knowing and recognizing Wizeman as the principle and first ancient intelligent form of nightmera and all nightmares;

But it is not moved by fears (mayhaps not only), Reala's loyalty and choose to obey still with Wizeman is due the agreement to Wizeman's views and laws of nature between nightmares and dreams. Moved by a political sense and the reality they take in, unlikeable from NiGHTS' change of view that can be described from Reala herself as "idealistic" or "against his true nature";

Being loyal to Wizeman does not mean as mentioned at beginning, as that Reala is blind by fear (irrationaly) to Wizeman (more of pressure in certain elements like trying to capture NiGHTS and still be himuliated everytime she fail), being loyal to Wizeman for Reala, is being loyal to the natural laws and the dark truth of being a nightmaren;

Reala and NiGHTS being created since the beginning, I like the idea that they we're supposed to be one, so when in game, Reala said between words "NiGHTS, ora imageru" (I think is typed like that, correct me if I'm wrong), can be translated as "NiGHTS, we we're supposed to be a image". The meaning behind this phrase might not make sense for our vocabolary, but for nightmarens, it can mean as same to say that "We are the same" or in this context "We used to be the same one";

In a sense, Reala and NiGHTS always had been opposite of the coin since the beginning before his rebellion, as NiGHTS used to be the one who represented illusions, the more unrealistic side of nightmares that still manages to make it feel eerie and real;

Reala's capability to drill dash is bit defected due the oversize of her tendrils, she had to exercise and at least train what she could to manage to drilldash fast as it could, but her agility is in no comparison to NiGHTS' acrobacies and agility, she always representated the brute force and the rough edges;

Reala for me doesn't wear much clothes besides the jacket and the boots, as weird as it sound for us, but it might be normal for nightmarens not to wear too much clothes (in exception for NiGHTS and Puffy who definitely enjoys to dress up a lot). There is no malice or anything for them to hide, unlike how most of us have the "weakness to cover up ourselves fearly" (told by Reala).

Reala invisible instrument is either a acoustic guitar or eletric guitar depending on her mood;

Reala capability to create her own world of dreams can say by the amount of ideya power she has as a first level, knowing that dreamscapes/dreamlands created by visitors main source is the ideya, and since Wizeman created both her and NiGHTS by it, Reala's abilities can be even be considered subestimated as well more complexitly deeper than we thought;

This headcanon can also be included for NiGHTS, but the reason why both Reala and NiGHTS are considerated as first levels is not because they have "full bodies" or a perfect humanoid look, close enough to morph and trick visitors, but because of their "visitor mind" (aka consciouness, sanity, thoughts and even feelings), the connection with ideyas and the ability to manipulate them besides absorving it like a common lower nightmaren;

[ • ] Romance General —

What Reala searches in a romantic partner there is no much secret on it, just ask and dude will look at you bluntly and answer these things: Loyalty, has a sense of indepedence, smart/cunning, mutual respect and acceptance;

Reala don't want someone who depends too emotionally on her too much, she already have more concerning things to care and having to help or guide someone all the time is tiring and stressful for her. She wants a partner who can be on her side and has it's own ambitions and indepedance as she does to herself, just as that respects the moments she need herself but still show that eagerness that if they need anytime a strong shoulder to lie down;

If you are too insecure about yourself, far too much, I'm sorry but Reala won't want to be near with a partner who isn't certain what they want, feel or do with their own life (in other better words, people who tend to be emotionally insecure or too much dependant). Now if you have few insecurities, fears and all, something that is okay and pretty common, even if you are dutiful and resilient, showing vulnerabilities can mean mutual fidelity, and that's what Reala is satisfied about;

Being able to express herself without judgment or the need to change for their partner's expectations, makes Reala feel far than just comfortable to be near the person who provides that! Even if you don't agree with her most of the time, you both still respect eachother views and recognize that you both live in different realities and that's okay! Reala will only change her point of views IF your points we're enough to click something at them to act like "Hmm... Perhaps there more than it just that";

Reala's pride is vivid but she is not egocentrical in a disrupting level to not confess that she is wrong, a partner that is able to open up and accept they're wrong and shows motivation to do better, is personally for her, admirable;

Reala can be serious and strict at times, but she also have her more comical side, that is her dry humor, sarcasm and her bold mockery. They aren't a edgylord, more of a dark jester commander guys. Someone who can keep up their humor and show a more lightful side, is always very nice and refreshing for someone like Reala who has to handle her title;

Don't trust Reala's confident side all the time, once she is shown through physical affection, she starts to behave more awkward, embarassed and even lightly grumpy if their partner do this on public;

Reala. Will. Spoil. You. If you we're her S/O. SHE DON'T CARE IF YOU DISAGREE, she will give you gifts, bring you to the most beautiful places known to nightmera, even being more cliché like writting poems to let you know that you have the honour to live in a appartment of her mind at necessary times;

Whenever Reala feels stressed, she doesn't ramble or toss rants all the time, just turns quiet. And someone who can silently be there, not loudly saying "I'm here for you!" by mouth, but by being there, is enough;

Reala doesn't expect much from their partner but all of these, too much extra can become overwhelming, but also being too little for her is nauseous;

NOW for physical preferences, she doesn't have those common beauty standards preferences like we do, they don't even care how their partner would look like. But Reala does think how is to have a partner that is contraditory to her looks. As problematic it sounds (if includes by species or race, like a human or a nightopian), the idea she keep it to herself (this secret preferance does not take away the fact that she don't care, all she wants is someone who accepts, respects and sees her hardships and hardworks as worth);

Ah also, if you manage to get her attention or admiration, is normal that she "accidentally" watches you from afar, maybe as a intention to study why she feels what she feels, but ends up falling more in admiration than actually learning what they was there intended to.

I hope you don't mind, but I kinda... Made the first one about my OC x Canon ship Realism (Prism x Reala). It's been a while since I wrote for them, and their one of my comfort ships (NiD fandom, please don't get mad)

The second though, is just a NiGHTS/reader insert drabble. So there's something more general for you to enjoy if OC x Canon isn't your thing ^^

"How do you know!?" The nightmaren general snapped- though didn't growl, a subtle sign that he didn't regard the nightopian before him as a threat, "How do you know what's best for me?"

Prism's ears tilted downward and her cheeks puffed out slightly while her pink wings flitted in irritation, it would have been adorable to Reala if it weren't for their situation, "Because I hate seeing you in pain!"

Even though she was very obviously irritated, there was still tender warmth in her eyes; the warmth only a lover could provide, the love that was so foreign to the nightmaren, and made him turn his head away from her in a feeble attempt to not have to face her; he couldn't be weak...

However, as she had been as his enemy centuries ago, she was quick and gently cupped his cold cheek to tilt his head to face her again, her blue eyes softened and staring straight into his icy green eyes, "Ree, please. I don't want to watch you hurt yourself anymore. Let me in, please..."

Reala just stared, his mouth opening and closing and his eyes filled with desperation, as if he was trying to find some way to deny her request... But he found himself unable to, and that scared him the most.

Your amused smirk disappeared almost instantly as you whirled back around toward the floating jester, nearly frozen in spot now, "... What did you say?"

NiGHTS is still casual, but not playful; they don't smirk or chuckle, they don't shrug or turn upside down midair, they just take your hand in their own gloved limb, before looking into your eyes, "What do you intend on doing with it?"

You could only stare gobsmacked at the reformed nightmaren, unsure if you heard them correctly; they wouldn't joke about this, right? Your steadily increasing heart rate and flushed cheeks certainly hope not.

You shake your head before swallowing, trying to calm your nerves; this was the moment you've been hoping for for a long time, you couldn't ruin this now, "Well... I-It's not exactly stealing if you took my heart first."

At your attempt to be smooth, now NiGHTS smiles and let's out a giggle, before shaking their head and leaning just a little bit closer to your face- they had to know what they were doing by now, "No, I suppose not... And I don't know about you, but I don't want to return it, nor want my own heart back~"

Okay!

—Reala is no stranger to art, considering the fact that music is a type of art and he's met two Visitors associated with music: Claris Sinclair and Helen Cartwright. So when he sees you and discovers that you're an artist that paints, he's rather interested in what you make.

—Reala wouldn't be surprised to find you in quiet parts of your Nightopia, painting away. He wouldn't mind watching you create a bunch of breathtaking paintings. Plus, he finds this rather relaxing to do.

—If you give him one of your completed works, Reala would be touched by this. He would gladly accept it and take care to make sure nothing happens to it. Though, he wouldn't tell NiGHTS that he accepted a gift from a Visitor unless he wants to deal with her constant teasing.

—Neither Clawz nor Bomamba's pet cats are allowed near his painting. For obvious reasons. (If you watch a video of cats destroying toilet paper, you'll see what I mean.)

He tells the other lower class nightmaren to go easy on you, or not hurt you, he cares for your safety too much

To make it much easier for me, since I'm STILL sick 😭😭 I will write general Headcanons for both of them from the main game! Pretty summarized too to not make it seem like a cluster giggles

" Despite his carefree, troublemaker and anti-hero perks, NiGHTS never always been just reduced into being ``goofy``. He is a nightmaren with many layers, that he hides it under his playful nature. He can be quiet, as the full moon night, can be snarky, as a serpent, yet caring as well... NiGHTS never expected much to be in a relationship, but they also always had curiosity on it!

In a romantic sense, NiGHTS would be the funny bf/gf in the relationship, sometimes teasing you to a point that it's annoying, only to see your grumpy face and angry huffs

Their way of love communication, is gifts, quality time and touching. Giving you little trinkets that made them think of you, spending time on Nightopia while slowly holding your hand without you even noticing

NiGHTS like the way your hand feels, how your skin is smooth or so delicate with his - To a point that when he carries you in a bride style, they rub their cheeks into yours as a form of affection

NiGHTS from the game itself, we notice that he speaks on his own language - althought I think he also can speak in any language you are native of!

About the languages, if you teach them a few accents from your native language and it's meanings, NiGHTS will start using them correctly as he can, even creating few new words just for you to make fun of him

He is an attention seeker and pretty petty when he wants to, so when you ignore him or slightly brush him away, they start to become dramatic and cling onto you, just to make you feel guilty or bad for it (never in a harmful way, since he cares about your feelings too!)

If he would have a favorite memory, one that they find the sweetest, it would be one night, you and him started to talk about your own future, your problems and fears... The way that you looked at him once he admitted his mistakes and even fears, he felt like the world had turned merciful to him... to give someone he can trust on, without worrying much.

Now one silly and last that I thought, is that sometimes when you have to rescue him out of the ideya palaces, when he had made you upset a day ago, you would tease on him and even prank, making him to have to say the magic words so you can help him!

NiGHTS still has his ego and pride... But the way you manage to break it by simply being kind, fair and gorgeous to their eyes, is what gets him more lost in knees for you ♡

" How could I even be choosen by this sort of feelings? Love isn't made for someone like me, althought it gives me a sense of admired by inferiors - loved in a sense of being cared, sounds stupid. And if it does, then I'm a fool for had fallen so easily in your schemes. I never truly cared about anything besides myself, since I am the only one to trust. Say whatever you want, my devotion to my purpose is still loyal, but I don't trust my creator. If what you say is true, if I can have the dignity to deserve `love`... Then show me. "

During the time he had spent with you, all you did was nothing but show him respect in a different way.

With his power, mighty and fear he brings upon his own kind, you seemed to not fear him. Which intrigued him as much it annoyed him.

Now that he understand your fearless nature, is nothing but respect, the way you act merciful, kind and caring to him, was enough for this tough maren' soften in your arms.

His way of showing love, is words of affirmation, praisings, touching and gifts. Ways that he can dedicate on now this relationship, on how he deserves your love as much you deserves to be felt special.

You always reassured him that they don't need to do that to proof something that you already see, but Reala tends to be a bit stubborn, insisting, until he promised to at least `tone it down`.

He never been a cranked up boomer, he also got some humour, and find himself pleased hearing you laughing at his salty attitude.

Their sarcasm is pretty clear, but if you aren't used to it, he would be surprised seeing how innocent you are to a point of not getting sarcasm most of the time. (Dw he'll teach u how to be salty)

His ideal partner always had been someone who are capable of controlling and helping the relationship grow, someone that takes it and compromise it deeply, not just a night stander or a simple girlfriend/boyfriend thing.

He loves when you kiss his face tenderly; this face that many people screamed and ran away of it, being held and kissed, praised on too, by their darling.

If you ask, Reala would let you sit on his lap while they are on the throne. Specially if you give him pats and bunch of affection. The sense of being praised like that makes his stomach tingle.

Dating Reala also means `watchdog` or `bodyguard` benefits, he will destroy anyone, the whole WORLD, if he sees you crying... Then they would compliment and keep you so close.

So how will reala or swap nights react if they started to fall in love with the reader/visitor (but they won’t admit they have feeling for the reader) that’s always so nice to them even though they are trying to take their ideya, even if they try to scare the reader by doing something dangerous like dropping them from a high point but ended up catching them at the last second and the reader is just happy thinking it was some sort of game that Nightmaren play.

NiGHTS [NiD]:

Reacting to falling in love by a Visitor

NiGHTS is a carefree being, despite their rebellious and fun nature, they also know to be charming and kind. Usually would hang out with nightopians and a few visitors, so he tend to have few friends across the road;

But when his eyes has fallen into yours, seeing how oustanding, adventurous and just naturally adaptive to your surroundings, is what catched his attention;

Althought you two met in a awkward situation, where NiGHTS was stuck at the Ideya Palace as a attempt for them to return as their old habits as Wizeman's servant;

You helped them to get out of the palace and by the exchange, NiGHTS helps you to flee from the nightmarens, as also kick them out of your nightopia;

Despite his intentions at beginning were to just get rid of that palace and give you a little helping hand as a "thank you", your attitude and bravery has brought him a different feeling, one that brings him a internal conflict;

It started just as a little respect, that soon it developed as a crush as more you two encoutered, the more he get to know you, especially at how you two tend to share same traits and even opposite ideas too, yet it doesn't interrupt your dynamic with him, is just as great!

One time you and him were dualized to kick over some Nightmarens, but suddenly the egg clock managed to find you dualized with a Nightmaren and by it's magic, you two separated from eachother;

Seeing you falling made NiGHTS fight against the forces to rescue you before you could hit and hurt yourself, that action made you surprised, but smilling warmly to them, knowing that in his arms you are safe;

Even that later on you gotta run back to him and run away from the egg;

What could bring a conflict between you two, is how NiGHTS has to deal with the sins of his past. The shadows always following him trying to bring him to where they used to belong;

This can bring them a uncomfortable feeling and a doubt. What if all these confrontation he got against Wizeman and all he had learnt after they let go from Wizeman's domain, could be destroyed, taken by their worst enemy;

Especially the possibility of losing you, this idea to them can grow into a paranoia that he sometimes would distance himself from you at beginning;

But the way you act fearless, it brings them inspiration and courage, that if he works to protect what's righteous, they can keep you safe and away from any threat coming from Wizeman or Reala.

Conclusion: OG NiGHTS will get closer to you, seeing you as a fun and strong person!

SWAP!NiGHTS:

Reacting to falling in love to a Visitor

His name used to be Illusio, the illusionist nightmaren. Master of shadows and despair, with his high charisma and malicious ideas, Illusio is known from their frightening position from Nightmera;

Ideyas wasn't the only thing Illusio can conquer, they can go much forward as conquering a whole dreamscape to bringing a Visitor to a spinning sorrow of void, with no Ideya to help them to escape or awake from the nightmare;

He is terrible and they knows it, is what makes Wizeman proud of them, besides... He is the greatest creation has ever made;

And for your unluck, you turned out to be his next target;

At start it was just a plan, to swoon you over, to get control of you and your land, sounded like pouring sugar to a cup of coffee, but little did he wasn't expecting that you seemed to be bolder than any other idiot that has fallen over his schemes;

This makes Illusio frustrated, irritated and yet intrigated by this difference;

Is you just like that? Are you trying to be harder? One thing little did you know that, nightmarens are natural challengers and they don't like to lose to a challenge;

Illusio had to improvise, being friendly and sympathetic to you, such as helping you to get your ideyas back as a way to trick into trusting him even more;

But as more this goes on, more he seems to be weirdly attracted on you;

And that's something that surprises him, but does not make him scared by the idea;

If you are convincing enough, he might spare your little land. But do not think you are free from him;

He will visit you, to see you, talk with you, as he attempts to steal your ideya. He thinks that the way you react and giggle to his words, makes him annoyed, because it is strangely cute and he hates it;

One time he attempted to throw you on a cliff, in a playful matter, this way it would be easier to get your ideyas, but these pitiful emotions that flows into his mind, makes him to go down and get you before you bump your head to the ground;

And the fact that you just giggled at this made him go "?????????";

Yeah you are one of a crazy person, which is interesting;

He is not very insecure around you, instead he is pretty direct and honest, it can be brutal, but he always meant it as a way you can learn things either at the easy or hard way;

And as soon he fully manages to swoon you over, he will get your Ideya, but as a sign that you now belong to him and that Wizeman got plenty ideyas for himself;

Conclusion: You will turn to be Swap!NiGHTS/Illusio little play thing lol

Reala [NiD]:

Reacting to falling in love to a Visitor

Reala always been focused to his job, known to be as a nightmaren of realism, bringing your deepest, grotesque secrets, fears and insecurities out of your essence;

As a nightmaren ruler and Wizeman's loyal servant, never was a easy task to do, but he would do anything for his defense and authority;

It feels like nothing could touch this nightmaren deeply;

That was until he had met you, a visitor that appeared and saw him for the first time;

When they had met you and started to know you, seeing how you are active around unlike his introverted nature, is what brought him in a deep conflict on why he is creating these emotions to you?;

This is wrong, this couldn't be happening, Reala would surpress his feelings towards you, as he still manages to take away your ideya no matter what;

But if you get to use the right keys on him, showing kindness and managing to handle him well, unlike any other visitor that has to deal with nightmares and never handled well with them;

At this point you will see Reala showing slowly his respect towards you;

It is not easy for him to open up fully, especially by the idea of these emotions and this relationship might interfere his role and what's left of respect towards them;

But if you both manage to understand eachother and slowly creating a beautiful connection, Reala will give you tips and help you how to handle the nightmares better;

About attempting to scare the visitor by throwing them on a cliff and catching them, Reala probably wouldn't do that, unlike Illusio, but he would scare you off everytime to catch you out of surprise, just to bring relief and for you to get used to it.

Reacting to falling in love to a Visitor

After rebelling against Wizeman, tired of being the second or the leftover, he decides to live a life for him and not for others no longer;

These moments of running, flying and meeting the side he never got to admire of Nightopia, makes him wonder how much he would had lose it;

He had met several people around nightopia during these rebellion, but when he met you, his eyes softly sparkles just as his demeanor;

He showed his interest towards you by actions, he is not a maren of words and even so, his words can be a bit confusing or just playful;

Even if you ask them, they would reply with: " ... Maaybe? "

He wouldn't deny or supress his feelings, since he no longer feels like he needs to keep themself away of what they want or need;

And if he would ever do something dangerous, it will never happen, since he rather keep you safe than getting you in the middle of it;

But he would play along with you, by scaring you off;

Conclusion: SWAP!Reala is more chill and is not afraid to express himself unlike his past self

Yo I got this on my mind recently, what about a ballerina!visitor x Reala or NiGHTS (or maybe both) romantic headcanons? :O

Ooh, okay!

NiGHTS:

—She loves watching you perform your ballet moves. Seeing you gracefully pirouette always brings a smile to her face. Since she has a curious side, NiGHTS would totally ask you about each of the dance moves.

—NiGHTS would no doubt want to dance with you. Before the two of you know it, you both would be dancing to the classical music that plays in the background. Every dance would be ended with a kiss.

—NiGHTS would even offer to play some music for you with her invisible flute. Of course, you would agree to hear your lover play for you. Doing ballet while NiGHTS played the invisible flute would be your ideal of a date night.

Reala:

—Like NiGHTS, Reala would enjoy watching your performance. He would congratulate you after you are finished and even compliment your graceful moves. He may also ask to dance with you.

—If you and Reala dance together, you'd be surprised by how much of a good slow dancer Reala is. He would blow your mind in a split second. That paired with your ballet skills would make your night wonderful.

—Like NiGHTS, Reala would also end each date night with a kiss. Though he seldom does it, he would play his invisible violin the next time that you do ballet.

Since I'm a Reala simp and crave romance, have some Reala romance headcannons (I hope these dont come off as cringey)

I have general headcannons for him, and specific ones for if his S/O was a nightmaren, a visitor, or even a nightopian to appeal to everyone (I know that last one may sound odd considering the only nightopians we see are those pixie like nightopians, but I have made my own nightopian OC and I'm certain other people have too, so the last part could count for those kind of nightopians).

~General headcannons~

To start things off, a personal headcannon of mine is that Reala is gynosexual (or gynoromantic if the dream folk are asexual in general) meaning he's more attracted to feminine looking people, doesnt matter if the person is a guy, gal, or a nonbinary pal. Of course, these headcanons apply to just Reala in general. I just felt the urge to type this out.

Reala may be the nightmaren general, but he is a gentleman. He'd be the type to hold the door open for his S/O, offer them his arm when out and about, kiss their hand as a greeting, etc. Especially if he hasn't confessed to them yet and is trying to subtly tell them he's interested in them.

However, Reala would definitely be a protective lover. He may be well mannered, but if anyone threatened his S/O who would be stupid enough to do that to the first levels partner, I have no clue he'll definitely step in and handle the issue. How he handles it depends on how the person is bothering them and what his mental state is.

That being said, he has much more patience for his S/O compared to everyone else. Of course, there are times he will get annoyed or angry with them, he would be more calm with them the anyone else. NiGHTS is the only other person who has his extended patience.

He also takes his courting seriously. Any romantic gesture from him is never spontaneous and is perfectly planned out by him. Now later down the line, he'll relax on how much planning he does, but when he's just starting to try and win them over, he's not going to take any chances.

I personally think that deep down, he's a romantic. He would give his S/O all sorts of lovely nicknames ("My darling" "My heart's desire" etc), leave a note for them if he has to leave before they can say goodbye, and would even dedicate some of his songs and poems to them.

CUDDLES! As I stated in my general Reala headcannons post, Reala is fond of the softer things in life, and he would absolutely LOVE to be soft with his S/O. He would love cuddling with them while relaxing, having personal spa days with them, holding them from behind while they were doing something, etc. I also imagine he would treat his S/O as if they were a delicate treasure, treating them as gently as he could and ensuring that they knew everyday just how much he loves and adores them. Also, if his S/O did anything like tending to his wounds or helping him with anything, he would be forever grateful.

With how much he loves music, I'm certain he would love giving his S/O a private show with his violin, and would love dancing with them. Also, since I headcannon he writes music sheets, if his S/O could play music as well, or even sing, then he would love LOVE having music dates, just him and his S/O performing their own concert.

All these fluffy headcannons, now time for something a bit sad. Reala has abandonment issues, especially after NiGHTS left. So him doing all of these things for his S/O is not only because he wants to, but because he's afraid they'll leave him if he doesn't make himself out to be the perfect mate. But, if his S/O helps him with this issue, I'm certain he'll be able to grow out of that fear.

Alright. That's general headcannons, now for specific headcannons!

~Nightmaren S/O headcannons~

This would no doubt be the most likely scenario. Not only because he's a nightmaren, but because of how he views nightopians and visitors, especially after NiGHTS' rebellion (explained in his general headcannon list)

He would still treat them like a delicate treasure, but he also is very much aware that his S/O has experienced their own hardships and no doubt is tougher then they look. But knowing that, his proctectivness would amplify, because now he wants to ensure they dont go through any more badness then they had/would have to.

If they actively served Wizeman, and if they got on his bad side, Reala would take their punishments in a heartbeat. He would be scared yes, but he would still do whatever it takes to keep them safe. The ONLY reason he wouldn't take his S/O's punishments, is if he was physically AND mentally unable to. But he is a pretty tough person, so those instances would be rare.

~Visitor S/O headcannons~

This would be pretty difficult to achieve, considering his entire job revolves around making visitors' time in the night dimension miserable. I think he and his S/O would have met if they somehow weren't afraid of him and wanted to talk instead, and they happened to catch him in a mood where he complied (like @pastiel headcannons for Reala meeting visitors who couldn't feel fear)

It would take a long time for him to develop feelings for them. But when he did, he would do everything in his power to keep it a secret. Do you have any idea what Wizeman would do to him if he ever found out he fell in love with a visitor? He would be considered a traitor instantly, and would more than likely be killed. As such, his love for his S/O wouldn't be as obvious if it were with a nightmaren, and they would probably not understand what he wanted from them unless he actually said he loved them considering he wouldn't be trying to scare them or take their ideya.

Although he would definitely want to, he probably wouldn't protect his S/O from other nightmaren. What if any of them reported what he did back to Wizeman despite his class? So, unless they are taking away their ideya, he will force himself to stay back. He will of course, be there to sooth them and do whatever it took to make it up to them. If he did have to step in however, he would do everything in his power to ensure that nightmaren kept his trap shut.

~Nightopian S/O headcannons~

This one would probably be on the same level of difficulty as the visitor S/O scenario is, maybe even more so. He loves antagonizing the nightopians, so maybe he met his S/O while he was looking for some stress relief? Unless they actually fought him. Either way, they must have caught his attention and gave him a reason to spare them.

He would be so SO much more protective of a nightopian S/O. Nightopians in general are small, delicate, and are often targeted by nightmaren for any reason. So, if it weren't for the fact that he served Wizeman, he would probably choose to live with them to ensure nothing happened to his S/O.

His feelings would both confuse and enrage him at first. The way he sees it, the nightopians are responsible for taking his best friend away, so he would at first see his feelings as a betrayal to his belief's, and would take the most time coming to terms about how he felt compared to the other scenarios. But when he does, he'll try to be gentler and show that he wants them as a partner.

NiGHTS and Reala with a S/O who is shorter than them headcannons

Heres a headcanon list to read while I finish up a drabble.

For this list, I'll be saying that NiGHTS and Reala are 5'3, though these headcannons can still apply if they're shorter!

NiGHTS with a shorter S/O

Their used to being the short person in the room, unless Owl or any of those pixie like nightopians are around. Even with a visitor, unless their really young, would be taller then NiGHTS. I personally headcannon that everything in Nightmare has a large stature, especially compared to the residents of Nightopia. I think that's one of the reason why NiGHTS chooses to hover rather then stand; it's a habit they picked up while in Nightmare to give off the impression their bigger then they actually are.

Since they hover most of the time, they wouldn't notice how their S/O is smaller then them at first, thinking that the height difference was due to them being in mid air. But when they do... Their nightmaren side can't help but feel a bit empowered by this. They don't really consider it a victory to be taller then Owl or the pixie nightopians because Owl is a bird and the nightopians are more like fairies, of course they're all going to be smaller than them. So with their S/O, they can't help but be relieved to finally be taller then somebody that wasn't really young or an animal or a pixie.

When they first notice this height difference, their partner should expect plenty of teasing and jokes. They'll give them all sorts of nicknames that have something to do with being short (Short Stack, Tiny, etc), place their elbow on their head (even if their S/O is only one inch shorter then them) and if their feeling extra mean, they'll place things up high just barely out of arms reach. Even if their S/O can fly, the intention behind it is obvious. However, once NiGHTS has their fun with their partners height, they'll slow down on the teasing. Of course they'll still mess around, but they'll mostly just stick with the nicknames at that point. So other then the occasional jabs, nothing really changes.

Their nightmaren instincts will urge them to be more protective of their S/O however, seeing their small stature as a sign their partner is more fragile and needed protection. For the most part, they hold back their instincts, especially since they themselves are proof that a small size has nothing to do with strength and durability, and just continue their relationship with their S/O as usual.

All in all, aside from them taking the opportunity to mess with their partner, NiGHTS would be pretty laid back.

Reala with a shorter S/O

Like NiGHTS, Reala is used to being the shortest person aside from animals and young visitors and the pixie nightopians. In fact, he fully expected that his partner would be significantly taller then him since the average height for nightmaren is at least six feet (at least the way I see it).

He definitely felt satisfied when he first noticed the height difference between him and his S/O, even before he was interested in them. He may not have called attention to it like their counterpart would have, though anyone who knows how to read him would know that he definitely enjoyed being taller than them.

Though once they started befriending Reala, he slowly startsed growing more protective of them. It's subtle at first, usually just sticking close to them to ensure they didn't run into any trouble. But slowly as the relationship progresses, his instincts to protect the small S/O will grow and he'll start doing more, such as wrapping an arm around them, especially in crowded places.

I also like to think that his affectionate side with them will also correlate with their height. Not by much, just things like Reala resting his chin on his S/O's head while cuddling them or him tilting their head up to kiss them. If he's feeling daring and wants to rile them up, he'll probably pick his partner up and carry them around or pin them against the wall as a way to showboat his strength as well as exploit how small his S/O is compared to him.

All in all, Reala would be protective of a shorter S/O and would be teasing in his own, subtle way. But it's still a happy relationship.

Memories Triggered (Jackle x Creepy! Child! Reader) Sequel to 'Her Ghost Sisters'

When Jackle took you, his human friend, to Reala's domain, he was so convinced that you and him would get along just fine. He had hoped that the Nightmaren General would be impressed by the young girl's skills.

Wrong.

The moment that Reala took one good look at you, he narrowed his eyes in contempt. He really did not like you at all. To him, you were just a regular Visitor that he can easily prey upon.

It was also when the taunts would start. You would be lying if you said that the vile words he spoke didn't bother you at all. It was almost as though he had a terrible motive in mind.

"You must be all so alone," Reala taunted again. "Why is that, child? Is it because you have no friends? Is it because you have no family to go to? You will always be alone, no matter how much you cry."

Those words suddenly triggered your memories. And you slowly started to realize why you were always always alone. Why people feared her.

Flashback:

It was the year 1692 in Salem, Massachusetts. The time where witchcraft became a crime. The majority of the victims accused of commiting such a thing were women themselves. Women that were seen as too beautiful, too outspoken, too skilled with herbal medicine, too loud, too quiet, or anything else really. It was a nightmarish experience, seeing sisters turn on each other when they were testified.

Children weren't spared either. They were practically tortured into confessing their experiences with any 'witches' that they've encountered. You've experienced it all despite the fact that you were just turning 7 today. And it didn't help that your mother was an actual witch that practiced witchcraft. You perked up when you saw your mother had come home, a wrapped package in her hand. "Happy Birthday, Y/N," She said with a sad smile. "Go on. Open up your present." She handed the gift to you.

With a smile, you opened up the package. Your eyes lit up at the object inside. It was a ragdoll, just what you've wanted. The doll had H/C yarn hair that tied in two braids with F/C bows at the ends, E/C eyes that were painted with exquisite detail, and it wore a matching F/C frilly dress. "Thank you, Mommy," You said to her while hugging the little doll. Your father, Cara, and Annabelle all watched with smiles on their faces.

But as usual, all good things came to an end.

Witchcraft wasn't the only thing that affect the people. Diphtheria was the illness that spread around your hometown. Lots of people had suffered and died from it. Unfortunately, that illness took your father, Cara, and Anna away. You were now left with just your mother.

The next thing you knew, your mother pulled you aside. "I don't want to lose you, Y/N," She said, tears streaming down her cheeks. "So I have to do what I must so I'll never lose you like I lost your father and sisters."

Before you could say anything, your mother began chanting something in Latin. Her pink magic flowed towards you and suddenly surrounded both you and her. Your mother still chanted while the magic spun around the both of you. After what felt like a long time, your mother stopped chanted and her pink magic faded away.

"Mommy, what did you do?" You asked her.

"I casted an immortality spell on the both of us," Your mother said. "We'll be able to live forever. However, there are flaws with this spell."

"What are the flaws?" You asked.

"You can't die, but you'll still be able to feel pain," Your mother explained to you. "Meanwhile, while I won't die of old age, I can still die of other causes."

"So we can both live forever?" You asked. "As long as nothing happens to you?"

"That's right," Your mother said with a smile. "Just whatever you do, don't let anyone know that your mommy's a witch."

You nodded in agreement, determined to keep your mother safe.

Unfortunately, even if you didn't say anything, your mother's secret was found out. The locals discovered that she did witchcraft. Now, they wanted to take her away from you. But you were hidden in the basement, covered in a black cloak, and staying as silent as possible. You suddenly heard someone break into your home as well as the sound of a struggle.

Your mother's screams were what scared you the most. You wanted so badly to see if she was alright. The struggle continued until all of a sudden, there was nothing but silence. You heard the people talking to each other before they left.

Your heart broke as tears fell from your eyes. You were too young to know what really happened, but you knew that your mother wasn't coming back. Everything around was just…silent. Before, you used to enjoy the silence. Now, not so much. Suddenly, it was broken by the sound of a familiar crying. You turned to see who it was. It was none other than Anna! Despite being herself, she was still a ghost.

"Anna?" You softly called to your younger sister. Anna sniffled and looked at you, eyes bloodshot and red from all the crying. It was obvious that she was frightened of the fact that she was a ghost. With a small but comforting smile, you gave Anna your rag doll in an attempt to comfort her. A smile lit up your younger sister's face.

Later on, you took notice that Anna had become attached to your doll. Right to the point that she decided to use it as a vessel. Of course, Anna wasn't the only one that wanted a vessel. Cara, your older sister, still had a habit of believing she was the best even in death. You two never got along with each other even back when she was alive. But that didn't mean that you didn't love her.

Being a total brat, Cara decided that she wanted to make a fool out of you. She chose to use you as a vessel. You struggled to free yourself from her control when you remembered something: your mother's talisman. Grabbing it, you decided to wear it. This caused Cara to be forced out of you. Now, everytime that she would try to use you, Cara would be pushed back by an invisible force. You were now protected.

Things changed as time went by. In the year 1980, some people found you wandering around all by yourself. So they took you to an orphanage which was you had been living in since with your ghost sisters either inside the room with you or outside. Life in the orphanage was not pleasant to say the least. First, the kids would call you names like 'creepy', 'strange', and 'freak'. They pretty much treated you like a burden. The staff were the only ones that were kind to you, but even then, you could see the fear in their eyes.

And that was how you came to be.

Present:

Snapping out of your memories, you felt so much anger build up inside you. But this anger was unlike any anger that you've felt before. It was so strong that it practically unlocked a power that you didn't know that you had: psychokinesis.

Within the blink of an eye, you grabbed Reala with your power. This made the Nightmaren General to caught off guard. Even Jackle was taken aback at what he was witnessing right in front of him. Reala's confusion turned to anger upon realizing that he couldn't move, no matter how hard he tried to do so. "How dare you attack me!" Reala growled.

While holding him, you spoke to Reala in an angry tone, "Do you know what it's like to be a burden to society where people talk about you behind your back!? But when you turn around to ask them to stop, they just run away from you!? They call me creepy, strange, a freak, and many more! I was broken since a thousand years ago, but ever since I met Jackle, he fixed me! He's my first and only friend! AND I WON'T LET YOU TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME!!!"

With that, you threw Reala against a wall. It was enough to leave a large crack. Enraged by this, Reala got up and flew towards her, ready to land a really hard punch. "You'll pay for this, you foolish Visitor," He snarled. "Nobody lays a hand on me!" But the girl grabbed him with her power and threw him against the wall again.

Jackle didn't want this to happen. He wanted the two to stop fighting. "Guys, please stop your fighting," He called to them. But neither you nor Reala heard him. You both still fought with each other. With a sigh, Jackle quickly took you and went back to his domain. When they arrived there, your anger suddenly vanished. You felt tears try to swell up into your eyes, but you held them back. You didn't want to give Jackle the impression that you were weak.

Suddenly, Anna's soft voice spoke to you. "What's wrong?" She asked, concern in her tone.

You looked down at Anna. Memories of Anna being sick with the illness flooded through your mind. You could still hear the cries of pain that she made as Anna's condition got worse before her death. Snapping out of your memories once more, you found yourself sitting on the floor and crying with Anna, hugging her while doing so. Worried, Anna returned the hugs. Your cries turned into loud sobs.

Your sobs were heard by Jackle himself. The Second-level Nightmaren came to see what was going on. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked.

"…No," You said, shaking your head. "I didn't want to… I didn't mean for it…"

"Kid, it's fine," Jackle said, shrugging as though it wasn't a big deal. "To be fair, I should've saw this coming. Reala is…not the most friendliest Nightmaren to be with. On the bright side, at least now, I'll learn not to leave you with him. Between you and me, I sometimes find him grouchy all of the time."

You calmed down a bit. With a hand, you wiped away your tears. "You do?" You asked.

"Oh yes," Jackle said with a nod. "Though, I do find his grouchiness rather amusing. Especially when I enjoy pestering him from time to time."

You let out a chuckle at what you heard. The thought of Reala being aggravated by Jackle was pretty amusing.

"But is it true that I'm your first and only friend?" Jackle asked you.

You sadly nodded. "Ever since I was put in the orphanage, I was shunned by all of the kids there," You explained. "The staff treated me with kindness, but I knew that deep down, they feared me. I still live in that orphanage…"

Jackle let out a slightly insane chuckle. "Well, here in the Night Dimension, you don't have to worry about being friendless," He said. "Because from now on, we are friends. You will always be my favorite Visitor, no matter what."

You smiled at this and took Jackle's hand. "Can I meet the other Nightmarens?" You asked. "What are they like?"

Jackle bursted out laughing. "Oh, they're something," He said. "You might as well prepare yourself for the one that you're about to meet. Her name is Puffy. She does have a bit of a personality, but I love her."

You nodded, now looking forward to meeting the other Nightmarens.

Hey so uhh, ya girl's (me, I'm ya girl now, that's my new title to refer to myself in asks as) been experiencing her usual Reala brainrot but it's been getting more intense today so uhh...

Reala x Artist!Reader..?

(I kinda would also REALly like it if some lore from the 90s NiGHTS Archie Comics was included like Roger betraying Reala but rere still alive bc I would literally hate living in a world with no Reala)

Ah, okay! Here you go!

Reala was never one to fall in love in general. He never saw himself as being able to do so. And for a variety of reasons, too. One of those reasons just so happened to be Wizeman, his creator.

And yet, when he saw you in the Night Dimension painting, he couldn't take his eyes off of you. He was used to Claris Sinclair singing and Elliot Edwards playing basketball. But seeing a Visitor that had an interest in painting? It was not something that Reala would expected to see.

Another reason that Reala never saw himself being able to fall in love? The fear of betrayal. He thought that NiGHTS straight up leaving Nightmare was bad enough. But it wasn't until he made the mistake of trusting Roger Wilkeah, Elliot's rival, that he realized just how hard it is to trust.

Reala wanted to walk away. He wanted to so badly forget about you. Yet, he could never do so. The more he tried, the more he actually longed to be with you. He mentally cursed himself for developing feelings in general.

Clawz, a Second-level Nightmaren, was the only Nightmaren that was well aware of how Reala felt about you in particular. So he decided to try to find a way to get you two together. But Clawz's idea of matchmaking were, ah, a bit different.

You were still painting on your canvas when you saw a cat-like Nightmaren approach you. You stopped and looked at the Nightmaren in curiosity, wondering what it was doing here. But then, it immediately grabbed one of your messy paintbrushes and ran off with it.

"Hey, give that back!" You cried to the Nightmaren, chasing after it. The Nightmaren didn't show any sign of wanting to stop. Instead, it just kept on running. You were eventually lured far away from your paints, other paintbrushes, and canvases.

Reala was simply minding his own business when he saw Clawz running toward him. It was on closer inspection that he realized Clawz had something in his mouth. "What do you have there, Clawz?" Reala asked, taking the object from his mouth.

Then, he noticed that it was a paintbrush. Your paintbrush, to be exact. Eyes widened, he was torn between scolding Clawz for stealing or to just straight up give it back to you.

Reala saw your form come running by. Before Reala could say anything, Clawz got behind him and pushed him towards you. The two of you fell onto the ground, Reala on top of you. Upon seeing the position that they were in, Reala felt himself become flustered.

"I-I apologize dearly, Visitor," Reala said, taking the paintbrush from Clawz. "I believe you may be looking for this." You blushed at the sight of the man that spoke to you before you took the brush away.

"Thanks..." You told Reala. "I take it that's your cat?" You eyed Clawz who was grooming himself, suspiciously. You and Reala stood up from the ground.

"You could say that," Reala said. "I will have a word with Clawz about this behavior that he did. Since you're here, would you like to hang out sometime later? Preferably somewhere nice and quiet?"

You blinked in surprise before nodding. "I would love that," You said. "I would even like to show you my artwork."

"I will see you around then," Reala said as he and Clawz left, a bit excited to see you again.
