(Hi, I know you are still mostly awake. Have asks. Go to bed soon. Please bear with me, this is a lot. Feel free not to answer any of them.) 2, 4, 5, 6, 15, 20, 26, 32, 35, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 50, 54, 60
I have no clue which ask game this was for and don't plan on looking further back than the last number one I had so allow me to be dumb™ and go off about my main children on @criminalverse-official thanks-
2: What is their sexuality? Gay (Garret), Pansexual (Reagan), Pansexual and Demiromantic (Rebel), Questioning (Quincy), Aro/Ace (Iseli and Cameron).
4: Do they have any siblings? How many? Younger or older? Which are they closest with? Yes, three, two younger and one older [but dead], the dead one (Garret); No (Reagan); It's complicated, don't ask (Rebel and Quincy); No (Iseli); Yes, two, both younger [twins], and he doesn't have a preference (Cameron).
5: What's their relationship with their parents like? What about other relatives? He loves his parents, though they're currently old, retired, and living in Florida with much of the other old people population. He loves his brothers too, even if Tobin can be a bit... strange. (Garret) He loves his parents, as they encouraged him every step along the way in his life and helped him get to where he is today. Occasionally he'll use his riches to help out some of his less fortunate aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, but he would never count anyone 'close' if you asked him. (Reagan) Again, it's probably best not to ask them. Their opinion of their mother their creator was never very much of a positive one. They... never really were in touch with anyone related to their mother the person who created them. (Rebel and Quincy) They felt a little lonely with their parents so busy most of the time, but their opinion of them was still high because their two mothers always would support their freedom of expression and respect their gender identity. They only ended up leaving because Rebel and Quincy wanted them to come along, but their mothers only provided them with some advice and sent them along with provisions to help. They only ever saw relatives at family reunions and such, and they never really liked how the others would look at them. They decided they didn't like these people. (Iseli) He's honestly not too sure how to feel about his parents. They provided for him and got him things, yes, but they always treated him like a girl and tried to raise him like a girl. He left to live with a friend, but was eventually kicked out after a big fight. He's playful with his younger siblings and likes to have some good-natured fun and spar with them. (Cameron)
6: What would they give their life for? Heavy question man, I have so many deep questions people are asking about them and I'm like damn okay let me breathe a minute. Wonderful character development questions, yes, but also I need some more light stuff to recharge, hoo.
15: What is something their parents taught them? Not every bad decision is the end of the world. (Garret) A world of good people starts with you. (Reagan) Even your own creator can't be trusted. (Rebel and Quincy) Accepting and loving is the best approach, cherish those who are close to you. (Iseli) Caring for someone means nothing if you don't listen to them. (Cameron)
20: Do they have any titles? How did they earn them? The media know him as the Bloody Thread or the Silence. He's never been caught, and if anybody does end up dead on the scene, it's always a steel rope. (Garret) Death. Simply Death, possibly Reaper. He doesn't fail missions, and if someone decides to be a really shitty person around him, they turn up dead with no explanation. (Reagan) Golden Widow, as a reference to black widows and the color or their magic. (Rebel) Shade or Shadow, for shadow manipulation, despite the strange and sudden mood lift wherever they've stolen from. (Quincy) Lash Dragon to the general public for their street art that has dragons in it, Splat to friends for their love for painting. (Iseli) X to friends as a reference to how easily he can demolish someone's technological defenses, Hack to the Guild members for... well... Easy to guess. (Cameron)
26: Are they aware of their flaws? Not entirely, and he's not really doing any soul-searching, so it's... not really an ongoing effort either. (Garret) Yes, and he does try to be better, but it can be difficult. (Reagan) Yes, but they don't make an effort to fix some of it because they feel it's not possible. (Rebel) Yes, but they're not optimistic about solving it. (Quincy) Flaws? What flaws? [No.] (Iseli) He realizes his self-care habits aren't the best but has no intention of fixing it. (Cameron)
32: How is their self-esteem? Not wonderful, but he can live with himself. (Garret) He's confident and proud in who he is. (Reagan) Wonderful! They're confident and love to show off. (Rebel) ...Decent. (Quincy) Absolutely fabulous, nobody can take them down. (Iseli) Better now. (Cameron)
35: What is the easiest way to annoy them? Be Reagan Take a mission from the board that he was looking at. (Garret) Try taking a weapon from him, see how it ends for you. (Reagan) Insult Quincy. Depending on he severity of it, they may be anywhere from annoyed to furious. (Rebel) Say anything mildly derogatory about Rebel. Say it to Rebel and they'll get angry. (Quincy) Try to wash away their art. That's why they started the guardian system. (Iseli) Take his food. He absolutely hates it. (Cameron)
41: What does their laugh sound like? Do they snort when they laugh? How often do they laugh? Soft, more of a light "ahaha!" if you ever manage to wring laughter out of him, no he doesn't snort, and it's rare that he ever laughs. Only his loved ones and friends- what few he has- can truly get a laugh from him. (Garret) A deep chuckle, a "heheh" laugh, doesn't snort, only laughs about Garret's little notes. He finds them adorable and amusing. (Reagan) Whenever they do laugh, it's usually loud, mixtures of "heh"s and "ha"s, and they do snort or even wheeze if you get them to laugh hard enough. They laugh rather often; Quincy, Iseli, and Cameron keep them amused and they're rather light-hearted much of the time around the Guild and in public. (Rebel) Their laugh usually is a snort followed by faint giggles ["snrk-heheheheheh"], so yeah they snort. They laugh around Cameron and Rebel, they laugh at Iseli most of the time because Iseli does a lot of crazy and laughable things. (Quincy) "Pfff-hahaha!" That's how they laugh, almost every time, and they don't usually snort. They often laugh at people who are fooled by the typical bottomless-pit-in-the-sidewalk trick or when their dragons attack someone for trying to erase their work. Nobody is quite sure where they got the vantablack from or how they managed to use it like that. (Iseli) His is more 'brief repeated bursts of air from the nose,' and if he laughs hard enough to be to the point of making sound, it's a wheeze. He doesn't snort, and most of the time he laughs because of Iseli or "memes that make me commit nose exhale". (Cameron)
42: What is their favorite thing about their appearance? ((At this point Kat is regretting their choice of multiple characters instead of just one.)) His good eye. (Garret) His smile. (Reagan) Their tattoo. (Rebel) Their scar, for sentimental reasons. (Quincy) Their unique markings. (Iseli) Their red-tipped hair. (Cameron)
43: What is their least favorite thing about their physical appearance? His bad eye. (Garret) His blank eyes. Hard to look welcoming when your eyes are The Void™. (Reagan) Their scar. (Rebel) Their resting bitch face. (Quincy) Their eyes. (Iseli) His nose. (Cameron)
44: Do they have any scars? If so, what are the stories behind those scars? He does, and... Well, it was one of his lowest points, he'd rather not discuss it. (Garret) No scars. (Reagan) Oh wow, look, tragic backstory, blah blah, knife fight, blah blah. [See 'All We Have Is Each Other'] (Rebel and Quincy) No scars. (Iseli) Had surgery scars for a period but they've faded. (Cameron)
45: How would they describe their own appearances? Grotesque. (Garret) Hopefully welcoming, but still haunting no matter how hard he tries. (Reagan) Bright and open! (Rebel) Hopefully discouraging any romantic approaches, but also badass and cool™. (Quincy) Artistic mess with a bit of class and mystery. (Iseli) Hot Topic brand college kid majoring in coding and achieving absolute zero in sleep. (Cameron)
46: How easily can they express emotions? How easily can they hide emotions? Easily, if you count anger and bitterness as the full spectrum. With some effort, he can fool a stranger on things. (Garret) Easily, but they're usually not his true emotions. Be wary of his mask. I think that speaks well to how easily he hides emotions. (Reagan) They express emotions with the ease of a water droplet sliding off of a duck's feathers. Hiding emotions.... Well, they're not good at it. (Rebel) They can express emotions with almost the same level of ease that Rebel can, but they choose not to. They can easily hide their emotions and often choose to do so. They would be great at poker. (Quincy) They express emotions easily but mostly show a range of amusement and brighter emotions. It doesn't really occur to them to be sad or hide their emotions. Why would anyone want to do that? (Iseli) He shows emotions because he's too tired™ to hide them. (Cameron)
47: What's their pain tolerance like? Stab him, maybe he'll say "ow" as a courtesy. (Garret) It ah... Hasn't exactly been able to be tested yet. (Reagan) High enough to take the worst clients without crying. (Rebel) Well their face has been cut open and they didn't even wail about it. They did cry a lot though, it was... painful. They went through their entire tattoo without even flinching though. (Quincy) They don't plan on finding out. (Iseli) There's a reason he covers up and barely ever leaves his room, that's one of them. (Cameron)
50: How would you describe their style of clothing? How would they describe their style of clothing? What everyone imagines a homeless criminal to look li- *slapped* "Rugged, unapproachable." (Garret) Assassin™. "Stylish but efficient, and it fits for the job, eh?" (Reagan) Kind of a hoe but owning it. "Flirty~" (Rebel) Taken and ready to punch someone's lights out. "Aggressive and rejection before any approaches are made. Yes these are ripped jeans but if I catch anyone staring they'll have a ripped skull. Have a wonderful day." (Quincy) Color mess, but going somewhere and staying compact with it. "An artist, obviously. What else would the paint splatters on my jacket mean- No, no, it's not for aesthetic, there is no order to it." (Iseli) Wow, is that Every Stereotypical College Student Ever™? "Hasn't done much in weeks and isn't planning on it, beanie edition." (Cameron)
54: What's their current hairstyle? ((There are three questions in the original but I'm exhausted so fuck you)) ((Also human versions for this one)) Short mess™. (Garret) School fuckboy swoop. (Reagan) Pixie cut [?????]. (Rebel and Quincy) Half close cut, half long swoosh. (Iseli) It'S nOt A pHaSe, MoM! [Non-emo-bangs edition]. (Cameron)
60: Describe the way they sleep. Uneasily, clutching the pillows. (Garret) Lightly, awakening at the slightest hint of need for alarm. (Reagan) Heavily, all over Quincy. (Rebel) Moderately, similarly all over Rebel. (Quincy) Snoring. Loudly. Absolute octopus, takes up the entire bed. (Iseli) ...Sleep? [Might catch it on a desk or underneath the bed, never any remotely normal place. (Cameron)

In Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988), the two Terenzi brothers have the singular goal of pursuing sexual gratification. While onboard the circus ship, they are greeted by two female-coded Klowns, with whom the brothers seek copulation. Confirmation of their success comes in their next appearance, where both brothers are marked by cartoonish lipstick prints.
Immediately they are struck down by a being heavily implied to be the Klown God (Klod) who descends from the ceiling. By juxtaposing this action with the preceding sexual gag, the film suggests a connection between Eros and Thanatos, sex and death, sin and penance. The Klowns' apparent reverence for Klod demonstrates a belief in this system of penance, that is, that the sin of sex must be punishable by death. Whether this indicates that the Klowns practice a religion related to Earth's Christianity is beyond the scope of this essay.
Furthermore, the Terenzi brothers are revealed at the film's conclusion to have survived their smiting, despite Klod's efforts. To understand the meaning of this plot choice, we must delve into the film's overarching themes of conservatism.
By the late 80s, when the film was made, the punk rock movement was seen by many to have lost its teeth. Reaganism had reigned for the better part of a decade and had attempted to quash the anarchist spirit from America's youth. In spite of this, the punk aesthetic features heavily throughout the film, both in characters and in the soundtrack, and this decision seems highly intentional.
A cursory analysis might incorrectly cast the Klowns as stand-ins for the chaotic Outsider archetype, but the symbology of the clown as a historic figure, combined with the proliferation of punks among the supporting cast, seems to indicate the opposite. The characters the film portrays as the "general public" are typically demonstrated to be sexually open (the lovers lane, the sheer-bloused woman who answers her door, etc). If there is a status quo to be found in this film, it is deviance. Ergo, the Klowns threaten not traditional values, but alternative ones.
And here we get to the meat of the film, so to speak— that the attempted coup d'etat performed by the Klowns is directly symbolic of the conservative cultural takeover that occurred in the United States in the 1980s.
This is why Officer Mooney, the brutish and old-fashioned police officer, is killed not with a cotton candy trap, but by being made into a Klown puppet. Where others are killed by being silenced, he is killed by becoming the mouthpiece for the enemy. The message here is clear: law enforcement is nothing more than a puppet of conservatism.
And so we return to the Terenzi brothers, their sexual transgressions, their smiting, and their happy ending. Their deaths could have merely symbolized the tragedies so often inflicted on the deviant by the powers that be, but their survival gives the film a much more anarchist flavor. The circus ship is destroyed with a bang, and the film promptly ends.
This decision— not to display the aftermath of the Klown attack— leaves the audience with questions. So you survived your sexual penance, what now? How long can a society function in unchecked anarchy? What do you do when you taste the klussy and live?

My OCs Master List
Until I carve out a huge hunk of time to update and to my OCs lists, here is a general character log of all my current OCs (minus my 7kpp OCs, they’re getting revamped into new, more original OCs because I decided to use them in original work in the near future). You can refer to this list for ockiss20/oc kiss week, any ask question posts, or just in general for your own curiosity. When I have the time later, I’ll add a link to their tags but I’ve known in the past sometimes their tags don’t show all of their posts so sometimes using the search option for their name yields more results.

Gaia, Hades, Hecate, Hypnos (mhmmm), Rhea, Thanatos, Zeus
Gaia: Where’s your favorite place in the world?
My room tbh. Haven't traveled enough to know what's my fave place in the world, but Colorado seems like a great spot to view all the seasons.
Hades: Have you ever had a near-death experience?
I almost got hit by a car once as a kid. I literally put my hands on the hood of the car to stop it, as if that would've done anything lol nothing I can think of after that, tho.
Hecate: What do you think of magic?
Those "superpowers" that certain humans have are pretty fascinating and have messed up my whole view of magic. There's that monk who could start a fire with his hand and that other guy who could conduct electricity thru his body. I don't think that's magic, but it's probably the closest thing humans would come to magic. Other than that, I don't believe in that whole black/white magic thing. I feel like that's more based in a "placebo effect" kinda thing whereby the victim believes the magic so the body starts to follow suit.
Morpheus: What was your most recent dream about?
I had a dream a week ago that I was walking home from an local elementary school I never attended (but my siblings did) and I eventually ended up jogging home. I have recurring dreams involving schools, malls, and theaters & all those dreams are shrouded in mystery and anxiety for me. I'm always looking for someone or running away from someone. A couple months ago, I dreamt I was at the mall 5 minutes b4 closing. Everyone in the mall was scurrying to gtfo the mall, but I was still casually taking my time and just browsing the stores. One of the store owners told me I had to leave since they were closing. As he pulled down that security gate and closed the doors behind me, I noticed all the other stores had the security gates down, the mall was completely empty, and the lights shut off in the mall. I was walking thru the dimly lit mall(think of a faint orange hue) and I started getting slightly spooked so I decided to pull the fire alarm so the lights turn on. It actually made the lights turn off and replaced them with flashing red lights and a loud blaring siren. I started getting slight spooked again so the dream ended with me running thru a dark empty mall that had red lights flashing and a loud ass siren sounding off. Not the best dream ever, but not quite a nightmare either. Just some annoying ass recurring dreams-.-
Rhea: What’s your favorite type of nature?
A rain forest or any area with a lot of trees. I have yet to experience the desert, but between jogging thru the scorching sun, using sand buggies to drive on the sand dunes, open range target shooting, and a nighttime full of stars and chilly temperatures... that sounds like the sweet life, baby
Thanatos: Is there anyone you just really, really hate?
God, at this point lol I feel like religion is anti-intellectual and condones ignorance amongst the masses and has greatly held back society for the past 100 years. But a REAL person? Mitch McConnell is the first dickhead to come into my head, but I'm now starting to get heart palpitations just thinking of Satan aka Samael aka Lucifer aka Ronald Reagan. Basically, any old white conservatives or neo-liberals who have had their names in the headlines for all the wrong reasons are the only people I truly hate. Moreso than the rich, even.
Zeus: What do you think about thunderstorms?
I thank God for them lmao That's the one good thing about hurricanes is that they feel like God-like thunderstorms raging outside

I'm wondering what are the political inclinations of the various characters for those that actually care about that sort of thing. Like how do they feel about their current government, the state of the country, the opposing's countries' governments, capitalism and comunism in general or anything really. I'm not really interested to judge I'd just like to figure out more about what kind of messed up world they live in (still possibly less messed up than our own although it doesn't look like it).
whoops almost forgot to reply to this. Well at least it gave me time to think about it.
String Theory’s government isn’t the same as ours, so that colors a lot of the way characters think about what they want. For reference, the government in the comic is very small/dismantled/most things are privately operated by corporations. Like there’s no US post office, or police, or state run fire departments, most schools are private (you have to basically join weird home owner associations in your area, pay dues, to get your children in), and so on and so on. the only government institution that remains is the bloated military (although a lot of that is also farmed out to private contractors). There was a government shutdown in the 90s that the country never fully recovered from and a lot of weirdo third party extremists snuck their way in. But hey taxes are low!! Also weed’s legal. But you have to pay for everything yourself... And the quality of neighborhoods varies so greatly even right down to road care. The poorer neighborhoods have basically no upkeep at all. It’s not a good system. Think like entire towns that are owned by one company. That used to happen in the US, it inflates prices and keeps people poor.
So remember that when I say that Dr. Schtein is a libertarian. His views are completely average. Lately, though, I’d say he’s veering more and more towards anarchism.
Delia, having grown up mostly elsewhere, finds US government stuff frustrating. I’d pin her somewhere more near a socialist. She keeps her views to herself because this stuff could actually get her blackballed from labwork.
Phineas has no political views, although he dislikes when tv and movies are graphic or full of curses and sex and drugs. He finds it distasteful. So he’s a social conservative in some ways (though he has no problem with homosexuality, since he’s pansexual himself). Like, ironically, he’s a pro lifer. But that’s because he believes every life deserves to live a long period of pain before dying. So a short life offends him. He would never kill a child.
Laurence is a liberal and is very mad all the time about how shitty his country treats mental illness. That’s his big hot issue. He’d like to move to a different country, but the places that actually have mental health care are too cold for him. Maryland is cold enough already.
Eliza would be like a log cabin republican.
Thanatos is just an old fashioned reagan era republican
Abel, I don’t know, he’s a mystery. I think his only political affiliation is to himself. Although he is definitely not fond of the government at all.
The langstroms are both libertarians, having inherited fortunes from a private prison franchise.
Jayjay is an anarchist, though he’s a bit disillusioned. The clubs in the waste land have been conglomerating into larger and larger groups lately, and forming their own governments. There are people pulling power grabs. It was bound to happen.

Athena, Hypnos, Poseidon, Thanatos? xx
Athena: What is/was your best school subject?
Probably English. Before we officially had an English class (think like primary school) it would have been Language Arts. Funny enough here I am as a STEM major.
Hypnos: What was your most recent dream about?
The last one I remember...I got a notification on my phone saying my MIA ex boyfriend had emailed me and I freaked out and woke up and checked my phone. BUT IT WAS A DREAM SO THERE WAS NO DAMNED NOTIFICATION @ ME CHECK YOURSELF.
Poseidon: What’s your favorite sea creature?
Loooove me some manta rays. Hella rad.
Thanatos: Is there anyone you just really, really hate?
Oh, loads. I’m a salty binch. My roommate and the Reagans basically.

Hyperallergic: Death Wish: Raymond Pettibon at the New Museum
Installation view of “Raymond Pettibon: A Pen of All Work,”, New Museum, New York (February 8-April 9, 2017) (all photos by Maris Hutchinson / EPW Studio and courtesy New Museum, New York)
The phenomenal retrospective Raymond Pettibon: A Pen of All Work at the New Museum opens with a wall chockablock with exploding nuclear bombs. Can he top that? Yes, he can.
I should start out by stating that Pettibon has always skirted the periphery of my awareness, a blip on the outer ring of the radar screen. A Sonic Youth album cover here, a high-toned gallery show there, but always, it seemed, the same MO: hermetic pronouncements scrawled across crude ink drawings, except for the occasional venture into an outsized watercolor of a tiny surfer pipelining a tidal wave, or a full-blown mural splayed across a pristine white wall. The attitude invariably felt more adolescent provocateur than sociopolitical gadfly.
A Pen of All Work, masterfully curated by Gary Carrion-Murayari and Massimiliano Gioni, blows apart every assumption and misgiving I might have harbored about this artist. Context may be everything, but content — lots of it — doesn’t hurt.
The exhibition is so large that a single floor feels like a comprehensive survey in itself — more than 800 objects across three floors according to the museum’s press release, though at the press preview Gioni put the number closer to 900, including never-before-seen juvenilia.
Installation view of “Raymond Pettibon: A Pen of All Work,”, New Museum, New York (February 8-April 9, 2017)
The most riveting floor is the fourth, where the elevator doors open on those exploding atom bombs, and the surrounding walls are littered with political drawings of unrelenting scabrousness, with particular venom reserved for Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Dick Cheney (the searing Reagan drawings feel especially trenchant given the reverence accorded his corrupt, oligarchical, and blood-spattered regime, even by commentators who should know better).
But these works, with the exception of the relatively straightforward indictments of the Bush/Cheney years, do not conform to the conventional notion of political art — taking issue with policies and raising awareness of abuse. Rather, the overtly political pieces glide along a plane somewhere between history painting and stream-of-consciousness poetry.
One of the first pieces to capture my attention was a blocky ink drawing of John F. Kennedy, gazing into the distance and vapidly smiling, with an inscription above his head that reads “KENNEDY WOULD DIE ALL RIGHT.”
What could that mean? The ambiguity conjoining word and image turns the experience of looking at Pettibon’s work into an interior journey on the part of the viewer, weaving through a weirdly sensual middle ground between thought and emotion.
Pettibon’s drawings arise from his encyclopedic reading. There’s a display on the second floor of torn out, annotated, photocopied, and cut up pages from books, newspapers, magazines, and other ephemera, whose texts he copies, edits, and adapts for his unattributed verbal streaks of indirection, invective, irony, and impertinence.
The impossibility of knowing where most of his references come from leaves us off the hook — we needn’t know anything more than what we see in front of our eyes, since the link between inspiration and image has been unplugged. Even Benjamin H.D. Buchloh, in an essay for the exhibition’s catalogue, states, “Situating the work of Raymond Pettibon historically or theoretically poses almost insurmountable problems, given the infinite variety of references that constitute the iconography and citational textuality of his oeuvre.”
But those references, once extracted, accumulate into a distinct worldview that, from the evidence presented by this show, employs pulp imagery not to parody its source or to undermine fine art conventions, but to underscore the self-destructive instincts that film noir, horror comics, and pornography throw into high relief.
Through avatars in the form of Charles Manson and Patty Hearst (along with such repurposed characters as Superman, Batman, and Gumby) Pettibon, in image after image, explores the fatal human proclivity to manipulate and be manipulated, to play predator and prey, all in the service of the basest psychosexual, violent, and suicidal urges.
Installation view of “Raymond Pettibon: A Pen of All Work,”, New Museum, New York (February 8-April 9, 2017)
The freewheeling ferocity with which the artist savages the hypocrisy, mendacity, and stupidity of political leaders, it can be argued, is as much an attack on the politicians per se as it is an interrogation of the Thanatos-driven impulses that compel us to empower those leaders in the first place.
An exception, within the scope of this show, is our sitting president. There are only a couple of Trump drawings in the exhibition, made on either side of the 30-year spread spanning his noteriety, one from 1986 and the other from 2016.
The earlier drawing, a hard-to-decipher brush-and-ink sketch of what I assume to be the back of his head framed against a moonlit cityscape, bears the inscription, “A CERTAIN DONALD TRUMP: THE FIRST REAL GENTLEMEN I’D MET IN YEARS.”
The more recent image, a clunky likeness in acrylic and ink with a collaged speech balloon (“YR HIR’D,” complete with arrows pointing back at himself), was evidently made during the primary debates.
Compared to the scorched-earth takedowns of Reagan and Bush/Cheney, it’s a bland, even benign image, though I can only imagine the truckloads of merciless new Trump drawings tumbling from the artist’s studio in the months since the selections for this retrospective were made.
But maybe that’s a false expectation. The Reagan drawings, at least those presented here, weren’t made during his time in office but over the two decades that followed, and most of the Bush/Cheney images are dated late in the second term or afterward.
Of course, due to Pettibon’s staggering prolificacy (Gioni remarked that these 900 items were chosen from 5,000 out of a potential pool of 20,000), it is impossible to state anything with assurance, but the retro aspect of Kennedy, Manson, Hearst, and Gumby, to name a few, implies that a significant degree of historical distance is required for the kind of indirection we encounter in the most effective pieces on display.
That is why I described the work in terms of stream-of-consciousness poetry and history painting. It takes an absurd path toward the long view. Pettibon’s words are not his own but a transformation of a wealth of literature of every rank and genre. This is a distinctive and compelling use of appropriation — not the repurposing of an existing work in the interests of glibness or irony, but a scooping-up of communal gray matter that is by definition greater than oneself.
At the same time, the imagery and stylistic tropes that Pettibon gleans from historically tawdry sources — modes of expression specializing in abjection, violence, and despair — collide with his multilayered and sometimes lofty inscriptions, amassing a combinatory force that lands a punch to the head again and again.
The contradictions inherent in Pettibon’s art spread a gossamer film of transcendence over the poison that has been leaching from the body politic since the 1960s. In doing so, it maps the contours of our culture and delivers a credible accounting of the sinking horror and glimmers of hope that stream toward us from the newsfeed day in and day out.
Raymond Pettibon: A Pen of All Work continues at the New Museum (235 Bowery, Lower East Side, Manhattan) through April 9.

Garret, Reagan, Harrison, Daniel - What would you choose - the person who you love(d) most safety, or your own freedom?
Garret- "... His safety. I can't afford to lose another person dear to my soul."
Reagan- "His safety, of course. I have all the freedom I want."
Harrison- It nudges its head underneath Daniel's hand and gives a meaningful purr.
Daniel- "My freedom, I don't love anyone. I appreciate Harrison, but that's about the closest I'm gonna get. Now, outta my face with that bullshit."

😳 for all of them?
Oho, fun!
Garret- Really jumpy and snappish, will lash out if questioned on behavior.

Cameron- Shy, withdrawn posture, quiet voice, stuttering.
Iseli- Haha what do you mean, they don't get nervous! Hahahaha
Rebel- Blushes, fidgets, shifts stance a lot and doesn't make eye contact.
Quincy- Defensive, almost on edge, also blushes.
Edric- Starts doing tricks with his strings to distract himself and anyone else.
Tobin- Actually doesn't ever get nervous. There is a constant state of either chill or Fear™.
Kade- Hides. Fuck that.
Daniel- Wraps head in a blanket and curls up.
Harrison- Gets jumpy and/or cuddles up to Daniel.
Simon- Runs fingers through hair, laughs even though things are decidedly not funny.
Bianca- Shifts between forms a lot at random.
Flynn- A wreck™, constantly fixes clothes and looks around.
Zephyr- Pats self down- there's weapons there somewhere.
Wren- Stays calm and composed. No reason to make a big deal.
Leo: Traces an intricate tattoo on his arm.
Dominic: Takes off shoes.
Calypso: Wings rustle, tail twitches.
Marc: Tail and ears twitch, claws come out.

Character File: “Reaper”
Name: Reagan Thanatos
Age: 35.
Gender: Male.
Species: Skeleton.
Nickname: Death or Reaper.
Occupation: Assassin.
Associated Organization: None, prefers to stay away from getting in any sort of team.
Appearance: Wears an assassin's cloak that's dark red and black, gloves, boots with pockets, black shirt, white leather pants. Keeps a dagger strapped to the femur of his left leg. Has no irises, but he often wears a smirk to seem relaxed. Best for your enemies to think you have your guard down.
Other: Stays away from groups and teams, seems to fear getting too close to someone but is often flirty when not in a professional setting. Will retaliate if feeling threatened. Keeps a few weapons within easy reach and carries a satchel when out on his own business or “relaxing.” Supposedly has a deathtouch, which is why he wears his gloves. He feels it gives him too much power, makes things too easy for him. If he’s going to be an assassin, he doesn’t want to be cheating his way to the top. He can “turn it off” for a little while if he wishes, but it does take energy. He likes making morbid jokes to fit his deathly persona. He supposes if the people made him a character, he could play it. Anybody who looks in the right places will find him, especially if one of those places happens to be the Thieves’ Guild. That’s where he buys his weapons- often again, if it happens to be something Garret stole.

ahEM okay so, first, don't think I didn't catch Reagan's last name- But more importantly and cracky, Tobin throws drugs at people to get them high to fight- Also I had the thought of 404 getting high with him, don't ask why, because I don't know.
Okay look if you thought for a single second I was original ever-
But also he avoids doing his own drugs because he doesn’t know how it may affect his host and doesn’t want to lose one early. :)
