What are you computer specs? Mine is not the newest or the most powerful, I haven't started playing DAV yet but I'm not it'll run properly

So my computer is pretty old too (I think I bought it in 2019? Maybe even 2018?) and it's a laptop, so it's geriatric by computer standards lmao. But it was very good at the time I bought it, so it's hard to say what the case may be for you. I do think it's very likely that any remotely capable computer can run this if mine can, but I don't want to give guarantees and be wrong of course. Either way, I've listed my specs below. I have an ASUS Zephyrus M GM501

OS: still on windows 10 Processor: Intel Core i7-8750 (note that the can I run it website told me this processor wouldn't be able to pull it off, but it has basically the exact same performance as the i5-8400 listed in the minimum requirements so I figured I'd give it as try and it works fine 17 hours in) Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1070

The game even runs on medium graphics instead of low and the only somewhat issue I've had is occasionally the sound will get a bit distorted (unclear if this is actually an old computer issue, a regular bug, or has something to do with me using an external sound input/output manager device - it's not frequent enough to be a huge issue). It does recommend an SSD, which I have, so while it says it supports HDD too, I can't speak to any differences there

The only thing I found that was actually kind of annoying is on the very first boot, it has to compile shaders and for some people, this only takes a few minutes. For others, including me, this can be in the range of 30-60+ minutes. After it does this, it won't do it again, at least presuming nothing changes, and every subsequent launch will only take a few minutes while it verifies the shaders instead. So it's just the first time that sucks and while I don't know for sure if the time is correlated to older pcs or not, I wouldn't be surprised if it is. So be prepared for that

Also, if you're not sure, steam will give you only a 2 hour test run before you can't get a refund anymore (kind of an issue if you're affected by the above point), but if you buy it from EA, I heard they have a significantly more forgiving refund policy? So you could get it, see if it'll run, and then get a refund if it won't. If you have a free way to access it, such as via a steam family share or something else, you could also try that to see if it'll run before buying (I did this with jedi survivor a few months ago lmao)

1. Are you named after anyone?

Nah. My parents just thought Lauren was a nice, not too common name. Which is funny because I went to school with several other Laurens, and our neighbor down the street had the same first and middle name as me.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Last weekend my closest friend came to visit, and I cried then out of happiness.

3. Do you have kids?

I don't and don't have plans to. It just feels like too much for me.

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

I currently do not play sports. I did gymnastics for like a week when I was young and maybe 8 years of dance lessons. Oh! I also did cheerleading for a couple years in elementary school(?), which if you know me at all is bizarre to think about. My constant critique was that I was too quiet. Which, yes. I have always been a mouse.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

No, definitely not. 😏

6. What's the first thing you notice about someone?

Their clothes. Not in a judgemental way, but I do think you can tell some things about people by what they put on their bodies. I also really enjoy complimenting people on their clothing, so I'm usually looking out for that.

7. Eye color?

Blue

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Probably happy endings. I like scary movies, but I can be particular about them, and I definitely have to be in the mood.

9. Any talents?

I had to think too long about this one. I don't know if they are talents, but I have hobbies, for sure. I draw, paint, take pictures, embroider, I'm getting very into clothing mending.

Also, I do have a miraculous talent of forgetting so much about the books I read.

10. Where were you born?

Amish country, Pennsylvania

11. Hobbies?

Oh damn. I didn't realize this was its own question. I love reading, hiking, and planting things in the yard/doing yard walks to stare at the plants.

12. Any pets?

A cat named Kubrick, a dog named Hugo, and 2 chickens (one of which is named Tortellini, and the other is sadly, unnamed)

13. Height?

5’2" (on a good day)

14. Favorite school subject?

I loved my english and art classes. College wise I really liked my random electives - Death & Dying, Religion & Sexuality, Earth Ethics (which was more in line with my major but still an elective)

15. Dream job?

Tending to a garden for no one but me. Not working and instead being able to volunteer for things I care about on my own time.

I do really enjoy my job, and I'm in the field I wanted to be in, but all work is work.

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) - Idk about not 'being able to shut up about it for a week' and idk how obscure they are, but I really liked Sigrun in Awakening and Donnic in DA2. Also the Antiquarian in the Black Emporium, because I run a weird antique shop and can relate. Gotta have to go through Inquisition again to refresh my memory about the characters there.

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) - there aren't really many characters I'd find downright bad enough to despise? I mean the kirkwall grand cleric pissed me the fuck out for her inactivity, but like I'm not sure if that counts. I am not too fond of Carver, Leliana, Morrigan, Fenris, Josephine, Solas and Blackwall, which I'm certain I'd get a slap for back in the day and still might nowadays (maybe not for Carver), but I wouldn't really send them to eeby deeby :( I've got shit taste in characters, I know I know

Gaia: Where’s your favorite place in the world?

My room tbh. Haven't traveled enough to know what's my fave place in the world, but Colorado seems like a great spot to view all the seasons.

Hades: Have you ever had a near-death experience?

I almost got hit by a car once as a kid. I literally put my hands on the hood of the car to stop it, as if that would've done anything lol nothing I can think of after that, tho.

Hecate: What do you think of magic?

Those "superpowers" that certain  humans have are pretty fascinating and have messed up my whole view of magic. There's that monk who could start a fire with his hand and that other guy who could conduct electricity thru his body. I don't think that's magic, but it's probably the closest thing humans would come to magic. Other than that, I don't believe in that whole black/white magic thing. I feel like that's more based in a "placebo effect" kinda thing whereby the victim believes the magic so the body starts to follow suit.

Morpheus: What was your most recent dream about?

I had a dream a week ago that I was walking home from an local elementary school I never attended (but my siblings did) and I eventually ended up jogging home. I have recurring dreams involving schools, malls, and theaters & all those dreams are shrouded in mystery and anxiety for me. I'm always looking for someone or running away from someone. A couple months ago, I dreamt I was at the mall 5 minutes b4 closing. Everyone in the mall was scurrying to gtfo the mall, but I was still casually taking my time and just browsing the stores. One of the store owners told me I had to leave since they were closing. As he pulled down that security gate and closed the doors behind me, I noticed all the other stores had the security gates down, the mall was completely empty, and the lights shut off in the mall. I was walking thru the dimly lit mall(think of a faint orange hue) and I started getting slightly spooked so I decided to pull the fire alarm so the lights turn on. It actually made the lights turn off and replaced them with flashing red lights and a loud blaring siren. I started getting slight spooked again so the dream ended with me running thru a dark empty mall that had red lights flashing and a loud ass siren sounding off. Not the best dream ever, but not quite a nightmare either. Just some annoying ass recurring dreams-.-

Rhea: What’s your favorite type of nature?

A rain forest or any area with a lot of trees. I have yet to experience the desert, but between jogging thru the scorching sun, using sand buggies to drive on the sand dunes, open range target shooting, and a nighttime full of stars and chilly temperatures... that sounds like the sweet life, baby

Thanatos: Is there anyone you just really, really hate?

God, at this point lol I feel like religion is anti-intellectual and condones ignorance amongst the masses and has greatly held back society for the past 100 years. But a REAL person? Mitch McConnell is the first dickhead to come into my head, but I'm now starting to get heart palpitations just thinking of Satan aka Samael aka Lucifer aka Ronald Reagan. Basically, any old white conservatives or neo-liberals who have had their names in the headlines for all the wrong reasons are the only people I truly hate. Moreso than the rich, even.

Zeus: What do you think about thunderstorms?

I thank God for them lmao That's the one good thing about hurricanes is that they feel like God-like thunderstorms raging outside
