The idea that someone - Stranger - invited her to visit had been immediately suspicious. That instinct passing, Cat understood this was normal behavior. A good sign. Opportunity.

Years ago a therapist said first reaction was conditioning, second was truth. If so, then Ike would be pleased that she was adapting.

She'd observed James at the gym; watching his use and repair of what equipment existed. He'd befriended a small prey animal, which endeared him to others. This, Cat ascertained, was the Squid he believed would like her.

In truth, the "something weird" was more of interest. So, when he stepped out of the community center, it was her first question. "What is something weird?"

I’ve seen so many things where people are like “ I was so angry when Jimmy laughed about mumbo’s death.” like some of his fans are genuinely mad? Like come on guys it’s a game. Everyone made jokes when Jimmy kept dying first this is literally no different except mumbo’s the one that died. it’s fine to be disappointed that mumbo’s wildlife is over but coming for Jimmy is crazy. I guarantee you mumbo is not upset with Jimmy for reacting that way 😂

It's Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen! Been itching to do a take on them.

It’s almost directly stated in the game Curly did not know Jimmy as well as he thought he did but the very same thing can be said about Jimmy with Curly.

Almost every conversation they have is awkward and stilted. Jimmy says something that clearly upsets Curly or makes him more dejected and doesn’t care due to his own projections. Post-crash he is just more demeaning and uncaring and puts just as many words in Curly’s mouth as he takes out of his own. Hell, you can argue he would not have chosen to crash the ship the way he did if he knew Curly would’ve tried to stop him, but he didn’t know because he didn’t really know him. Just like Anya and Daisuke and Swansea and likely anyone else in his life, Jimmy knows and understands people through the lens of his own self-centered projections. He can not fathom motives outside of his own hence not even considering Anya killing herself or the very real idea Swansea was saving the pod for Daisuke.

He understands people through the positions he forces them into in his life and had his first glimpse of how Curly was outside of his influence or desires in a while on the Tulpar and between him and Anya cause it was the first time Curly wasn’t just trying to cater to him and he fucking hated it.

JimmyTimmy fic idea!

AU where Jimmy and Timmy never met as kids and live in the same dimension.

Jimmy and Timmy end up married after a wild, drunken night together. After sobering up, Jimmy wastes no time getting annulment papers so they can forget it ever happened. Over and done with, right?

Only Timmy doesn't sign the papers. One night was all it took for him to fall hard for Jimmy; he wants to stay married.

Jimmy is horrified, but his options are limited. He doesn't want to go to court and risk ruining his hard-won reputation as a respectable scientist in the scientific community by having them find out about his drunken marriage, but he also doesn't want to stay married to a total stranger (and a completely annoying one at that.

Eventually Timmy offers him a deal: give him time (a few months??) and a chance to win Jimmy over. If, after his time is up and Jimmy still wants Timmy to leave, then he'll sign the papers and they go their separate ways.

Jimmy ends up reluctantly taking the deal in order to preserve his good name.

Cue Timmy's attempts at wooing his new husband and Jimmy's attempts to annoy his husband into leaving him, all the while fighting his burgeoning feelings for the man.

this is too stupid to edit the post about but I realized I used the wrong term for using bones for divination. Oracle bones are a very specific kind of ancient relic from China and thereabouts, where diviners would carve questions about the future into livestock scapulae or turtle plastrons, burn the bones until they cracked, and then interpret the question's answer from the pattern of the cracks. The thing where you throw a bunch of bones on the ground and interpret the pattern they make when they come to rest is called, appropriately, "bone throwing" or osteomancy (from the Greek osteon, bone, and manteia, divination), and is an ancient form of divination still practiced in different forms by various communities worldwide.
