So, at this point it goes without saying that the sound design and production on @re-dracula is flawless, and Ben Galpin is a wonderful, wonderful Jonathan, but I was not expecting a straight up 'and now the weather' moment. Beautiful.

now that i’m pretty solidly more than halfway through the book i’ve started to think very seriously about what changes i’ll make when editing Lay Me Down and have come to the following two important conclusions:

agnes’s internalized homophobia neeeds to be worse

pallas should make WAY more pretentious literary references than they currently do

my least favorite part of the creative process is when I have to take a hammer to the rough draft I'm very attached to in order to reshape it into a final work that's objectively much better. because in the middle of smashing it with a hammer it feels like I'm just making it all Worse, and knowing that's not true doesn't stop the feeling when it currently looks like.... this

Headcanon that Echani are not poisoned by chocolate as most canid species are, but instead are stimulated by it, with effects on their body being much like caffeine. Its mild toxicity results in upset stomachs if ingested in large quantities but induces interesting symptoms, so chocolate is a popular consumable in place of the galactic preference for Caf on Eshan. This results in rather humorous displays come the Festival of Love when the galaxy hands out sweets to their persons of affection, without knowing that to Echani, chocolate symbolizes wanting to make a deal...and bouts of hyperactivity.

Guess who’s sick AGAIN! Four times in four months. This time it’s some kind of stomach bug where I can’t stop puking and can’t keep anything down.

I think I’m going to email my primary care doctor at this point because I don’t think this is normal. I’ve never been sick this many times in a row.

Also putting this last bit under a cut bc it’s absolutely Disgusting but also kind of morbidly fascinating to me (TW: VOMIT):

Every time I threw up last night, I blew my nose after - and chunks of undigested food came out?? Of my NOSE?? I don’t throw up like ever so maybe that’s normal, but that’s never happened to me before. It was horrifying!!
