OKAY SO RANDY WITH POWERS IG

Let's start off with me explaining him actually having powers. I like to think that the longer he's the Ninja, the more he gets a hold of his powers outside the suit. Take a look at the earth attack episode, where we see him using a magical spell without having the mask on.

Some powers are easier to use than others. He can easily use the Earth Attack so long as he says the rhyme, but summoning air fists and hydro hands are a bit harder without the suit on. Though, he'd later learn how to use them sans suit in the future.

NOW FOR ACTUAL POWERS.

Does anyone remember the "Temple of Forbidden Knowledge of the Shadow Warrior"? Where there were a bunch of art forms that includes the art of healing and (im assuming, cuz it's been a while since I've seen that episode) disguise?

Yeah, we're diving deep on that temple, especially it's art forms. First off, we have the one and only "Art of Flying" and my first instinctive thoughr when I first saw that was:

"ART OF FLYING!?!?!? THAT'S SO *CENSORED* COOL!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK? I HOPE THERE'S AN EPISODE FOR THAT ONE!"

Anyway, back to topic. The "Art of Flying" is pretty simple. It's an art form that, I suppose, Randy was supposed to learn to help him with his Ninja duties better when bigger threats appear. I like to think that in the first few times he had to use it, he could only use the flying power as a way to boost how high up he can leap, but overtime, he would learn how to properly levitate until he can reach as high up as he can.

And unlike the Art of Healing (which I'll be talking about in a bit), Randy can use this power without his suit. By just reciting a chant, he could start levitating himself.

Not only that, but I also like to think it's more specific name is "Art of Levitation" rather than just flying, as I imagine it being able to also levitate objects and other people than just Randy himself.

Now on the next power, "Art of Invisibility"

Like art of flying, this one is self-explanatory. It's a power that can make you invisible. It has similarities with the Art of Stealth (which is the camouflage episode), but I love to imagine that their key differences is that Art of Stealth would still make him tangible, but being invisible does not. Like, he'd be an invisible ghost, with no one to hear, see, and touch him.

This is one of the hardest powers to master, as it can be hard to make oneself invisible and visible again. It would take a matter of great control and discipline before the Nomicon would even let Randy learn that power.

Being invisible also has its weaknesses. Being stuck as invisible for too long might make him feel detached from everything around him as he basically doesn't exist to the people around him. Randy is also forbidden by the Nomicon to use this technique often, as it could damage his already thinning sanity and the remaining braincells he keeps in that head of his.

So, Ive started a rewatch of 9gn, and I would like to ask your opinion on the doodle vision thing. Is it just Randy remembering the pages do you think? or is the nomicon giving him a sort of limited mental text through their connection? Like especially when it seems to point to specific objects or such?

Personally, I like to think it's a little bit of both!

In my head, the first time Randy put on the mask, a surface level connection has been made between him - mask - Ninjanomicon. That's what allows the Ninjanomicon be aware of what is going on in Randy's life (how it reacts to his actions and decisions, and what prompts it to warn him/give him a lesson) despite it being, ya know a book without eyes and ears.

(on extra side note/headcanon, but I believe this is also the reason why Ninjanomicon needs the Messenger/Creep to scope out potential future ninjas - Messenger observes and evaluates and chooses, because Ninjanomicon cannot evaluate until after the candidate put the mask on and/or opened the book to establish that first surface connection.)

So, after Ninjanomicon gives a lesson, it continues to observe, and when we see doodles its because Randy is remembering AND Ninjanomicon is sort of nudging him with some of those visuals. Cause, like, more often than not the doodles appear just before/during a revelation Randy is having, but there are also sometimes extra doodle words like 'duh' or 'now this is a weapon' which feels a lot like commentary from someone else than Randy. There is some form of synchronicity - a mind drift, if you want, going on betwen them imho.

I like to think that the longer a Ninja is connected to the Nomicon, the stronger that connection gets, so at some point in the future Ninjanomicon can actually properly talk through doodles not only inside it and through memory, but also out in real life.

But since having such a strong connection is detrimental to a Ninja (aka, too much knowledge from Nomicon connection can lead to faster corruption by power) and Ninja's duty lasts only roughly 4 years, its very rare that the connection between the two gets so strong that Ninjanomicon can actually 'talk' rather than just recall memory of an already given lesson.

Also can you imagine a Ninja actually interacting with doodle talk out in real life as Nomicon talks to them? Ninja will seem like a crazy person! xD

Mcfist doesn’t remember Howard’s name so they refer to him as ninja sidekick or fat redhead kid

Randy had flexibility skills even before being the ninja (Doing homemade parkour stunts)

Heidi and Howard parents are divorced and stay with the parent they dislike

Heidi and Howard make exchanges with each other but both don’t keep their end of the bargain (rare if they do)

If Howard didn’t know Randy identity he would’ve been a villain (like Harry Osborn)

Theresa and Heidi are besties like Howard and Randy

Heidi and Debbie have a rivalry with one another before it get squashed and they learn to respect each other

Howard thinks Julian is a posier (which is why he’s not fond of him)

After merging with evil Julian regular Julian now has heterochromia

Theresa while not fond of Howard do thinks he’s funny

If Randy wasn’t picked as ninja Theresa would’ve been the next option

Morgan and Bash don’t get along at all but do love to make fun of Viceroy

Morgan may have an attraction to Howard (he doesn’t know that as she’s wearing a disguise)

Ninja suit acts like a symbiote so when Howard wore it he became a jerk (then usual)

okay ik I haven’t posted much abt lize’s and my post-canon timeline but I wanna talk abt how the Weinerham Family (weinerhamily) celebrates the 4th of July!!! here’s what u need to know

Randy & Howard are gay married and have a set of twins, June & B (seen on @cunningweiner). Also their legal last name is Weinerham

Mort & Viceroy are gay dating. Hannibal and Marci are happily married as well. the four of them have some sort of polycule thing going on. No they can’t explain it <3 and neither can i

Debbie & Theresa are gay married and family friends of the Weinerhams/the Evil Polycule. they have a son, Dewey, who is a couple years younger than the twins

Heidi is gay dating Morgan and they are #childfree

Bash fucks off to Europe soon after graduating high school and Marci lets him “spread his wings” (he does not attend the family gathering)

they are a very weird, very big, oddly happy family

AND NOW!!! SILLY HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES BELOW THE CUT

Every summer the Weinerman clan & company spend a week at a McFist lake house out at Lake Papoose. The 4th of July usually falls in the middle or the end of these trips, and it’s a huge Thing™️ every time.

When the tradition began, Mort and Viceroy had recently started dating, and Bash was still obligated to attend family vacations. Heidi/Morgan and Theresa/Debbie would not join the group for a couple more years. Randy and Howard were together, but not yet married and not yet fathers. The first 4th of July on the lake, the two of them snuck away from the McFists + Mort with a handful of fireworks, stolen from Viceroy’s stash. They only meant to fuck around with some sparklers, maybe a couple fountains. But SURPRISE! Bash crashes the moment with a bigass Roman candle. Randy and Howard try to shoo him away and it turns into an argument. Mid-scuffle, the Roman candle goes off. A grassfire starts. No one gets hurt, but it’s safe to say everyone is a little peeved for the rest of the trip. Bash only attends one more lake vacation after that before fucking off to Europe.

In the “present day” — meaning, all the kids are born, all the couples are married, the tradition is firmly established — everyone gets along quite well, sans-Bash. Randy and Hannibal kinda grate on each other, even though neither of them can quite put a finger on why the other is so irritating, but their love for the collective family outweighs the annoyance. Heidi and Morgan make incredible cocktails for the adults. Theresa always makes the cutest, tastiest America-themed snacks and desserts. Viceroy and Marci chat for hours on the porch. Debbie and Howard gossip and watch bad Hallmark movies for fun. Dewey, June, and B always get into some shenanigan or other. It’s all quite domestic and fun. In this timeline they really are a weird, happy, tight-knit family. I could go on and on about how everybody interacts with each other but then this post would never ever end

Even bigger than the fireworks, though, is the Annual Weinerman-McFist-Weinerham-Fowler-Kang Paddleboard Tournament on the Water!

Okay, yeah, it’s a mouthful, but here’s the gist of it: on the lake directly behind the McFist lake house, a ways from the shore, two paddle boards are anchored, nearby one another, but far enough apart that they won’t crash. Anyone wanting to participate, whether child or adult, is randomly paired against someone else, forming a tournament bracket. Each pair swims out to the boards, armed with one of those foam jousting sticks. Then. They Fight. In order to move up in the bracket, you must knock your opponent completely into the water.

Why is it such a big deal for the Weinerhamily? Because everyone single one of them is a competitive asshole! Except for Marci and Viceroy, who referee the event. And in order to participate, you must bring something to contribute to the Victory Pile, which is a pile of the brucest prizes, all of which belong to the ultimate winner. And everyone always goes buck-fucking-WILD with the Victory Pile. Fine wines, Disneyworld tickets, $100 gift cards, gaming consoles have all been seen in the Pile.

For a while, the victor changed year to year…until Debbie’s first win. After which, she becomes undefeated. But this doesn’t deter anybody, no — they get MORE competitive trying to take her out. Nobody understands how she’s so good at it. They just know she packs a LOT of force into such a tiny body.

Hannibal’s usually out in the first round (unless he’s paired against a child), at which point he pouts for a while until he remembers that he can spend the rest of the Tournament heckling whoever took him out.

Howard is a force to be reckoned with — low center of gravity makes him hard to knock over! — and so is his girl, June, by sheer force of will. Morgan is also a powerful foe, while Heidi is quite average. Randy has quick reflexives, but is fairly easy to knock over once he runs out of energy to dodge. B usually ends up laughing too hard to actually fight, and Dewey is the youngest, so everyone knows he doesn’t stand a chance. Theresa plays quite casually once her wife starts winning the Victory Pile every year.

Ninja Power Idea: Ninja Decoy

Used to create a dummy of a ninja to distract or confuse opponents. The dummies can be basic or perfectly replicated depending on the experiences.

I can imagine Randy learning Ninja Decoy and using it to avoid incoming attacks!

HII, okay I apologize that I'm only just now getting to answer this but- this sounds like a very interesting idea! Creating dummies definitely would be useful in a fight; it makes me think a little of the sand ninjas, but just a smidge to the left.

For something like "Ninja Decoy" - if Randy were to use it, he'd only be able to master a basic version of the dummies and as he continues to understand how they work, he can activate a more advanced version of the ninjas. We all know that boy skips over the instructions- coughs, like the Art of Healing, but that would definitely be a very interesting power to have! I also feel if this existed, there would be a limit to how many of these dummies can be used at once- though it's not very draining to the Ninja unless they create too many in a single go.

I'm not sure what else to add, but this is a really cool idea to be honest!

Finja x Chase angst? 👀

oh dude their whole "relationship" is basically messed up angst lol (despite me often portraying it as cracky angst)

I mean, we have some good angst in Chase pursuing First not because he 'loves/cares about' him, but because he selfishly desires him for his power/sees him as a challenge to get into his Fallen Warriors army. And First having to be constantly on alert against Chase, especially when he behaves like a charming honorable warrior, hiding that cunning manipulative side of him behind amused 'harmless' smiles. I would imagine its hard for First to not start to care about Chase (he can be very charming ;) ) to some degree, so there is like this delicious angst in starting to care about someone with whom morally you would never agree with. (very Prof. X vs Magneto vibe imho)

(this also could lead to some interesting spin-off angst opportunity about First being in the Fallen Warriors Army and just...existing in this weird limbo of being a target of Chase's favorable attention, but still essentially being a servant to his Master so thus really unable to trully care about/love this evil man but he still kinda cares after all these years and, like ooooooh baby thats some scrumptious angst possibility)

Or we can have some angst in form of First, being technically 'moved on'/left only in spirit in this world and Chase, still obsessing over him all these centuries, not even realizing that he is basically pining at this point. Showing up to bother current Ninjas, Ninjanomicon and Spirit of First at every opportunity, but not being able to actually be (in any capacity) with First, besides those very brief reunions. And First, throughout the years, while still being very annoyed about Chase's continuoes presence, also feels... incredibly saddened about this man to some degree. But he still can not falter, for his duty and successors still need him and they take priority, so this weird relationship just continues on.

And like OOOOH BABIES this is just scratching the surface of any possible angst, but these are the ones that are currently circling in my mind (i want to make some comics with these scenarious) so yeah! angst! ;D

She’s here!! Meet Eiko — my rc9gn OC !! There’s quite a lot that I didn’t include in the short intro card — So if anyone wants to read more about her and this whole AU — I invite you to the “Read More” section :D

|The lore|

Eiko and Nomi were born into first ninja’s family before the sorcerer was sealed away— The whole clan moved around the land, fighting the sorcerer’s monsters and horrors along the way. While they both studied the blade, Eiko turned out to be more sensitive to spirits and magic than Nomi — Later in life, she decided to pursue the title of the greatest exorcist in the land.

She ventured across the land while Nomi stayed with their father. Both became masters in their own fields.

Days after First passed— Nomi was tasked to find another, who would become the next ninja— Not only was he tasked, he was also warned — That he shouldn’t, under any circumstances, be the next one to wear the mask.

Nomi was a good son. He always listened to his father’s request— but this one — He was sure that he would bring his father honor if he took his place.

After he put the mask on — It took control over him and forced him to go on a rampage

The reason why it happened lies in the material from which the suit was crafted with. Tengu gave his feathers to the First, yes, but it was simply to give him a chance of defeating the common enemy, not to give his clan the unlimited power. He warned him that this power cannot be kept in the family—

Eiko was called to town to get rid of the rampaging beast— She didn’t know who she was fighting— Until she struck the final blow— She gazed in horror at the body of her dear brother— Wishing to save him, she sealed his soul in the book he wrote— The ninja Nomicon — This was the day that tome became magical

She saved the village and it’s people but the act of killing her own brother angered the gods she worked so closely with — They cursed her to suffer the eternal life until the Nomicon was destroyed or until the Heavenly forgave her sin.

It was the worst version of immortality. Eiko still felt pain — She still bled, her bones could crack, she could fall sick. She also still could get tired, physically and mentally— In every aspect she was still a human, just one that couldn’t die and was forcefully kept alive.

She took a role of the one who chooses the ninja — She did it on her own for many centuries but after a while, she decided to gather some trusted people to help her with this task — Although, Ninja choosing is still pretty much up to fate

Besides the ninja business— Eiko has her own job to do — As an exorcist, she fights evil spirits and helps kinder one recover — She also chooses one person to fight sorcerer’s forces alongside ninja

Some other things about this AU

- There is no limit to how long a person could be a ninja — They end their career after they become unable to fight; want to end their time as a ninja by their own choice; Or when they violate Ninja code

- The world is much more filled with spirits, demons, youkai etc.

- Nomi and Eiko don’t have a mother (I didn’t really think about her character/ and I also think she might have died by sorcerer’s hand— that’s why First would be so determined to get rid of him)

- I loosely took inspiration from the cowboy hat weirdo while making Eiko — but he’s still present in my au — he just joined the Nomicon delivery service later in the story

- Eiko and Nomi are adults— Do not ship them with any of the young characters— They are mentors and teachers, that’s all

It might be because I'm also a RC9GN fan & a character misinterpreting ancient wisdom always gives me RC9GN vibes whenever it happens but it is so funny to me.

Some doodles for the Evil Ninja thing I decided I want to try and get back into!! I really liked the idea! I want to make it a comic, but I may start it off as a fanfic first- we'll see haha It's more of a Danny Phantom and Randy Cunningham crossover as it deals with a ghost ninja, aka the Evil Ninja The premise is that one of the original ninja's from before the Nomicon, even, has been unlocked from the Ghost Zone and is intent on finishing what it was doing before- becoming the one and only ninja... which is achieved by getting rid of all the other ninjas. Basically going to take a ninja and a ghost to fight this powerful ghost ninja! It's before the end of RC9GN- probably pre Season 2? and I haven't decided on the timeline for Danny Phantom's side of things yet. It's actually been awhile since I've watched DP while I rewatch RC9GN fairly often LOL I want to add American Dragon Jake Long for Secret Trio (my beloveds) but for rn I felt it would end up being too clunky plot wise- so I do have plans of a later story but for rn this is what y'all get WEE Tag Wise for rn I'm just going to refer to it as DP x RC9GN Evil Ninja until I think of an actual title for this LOL If u want to know more let me know hehehe
