here's a lil scribble I did with Raven (personally I think #3 fits her aesthetic😍) ⭐️ part 49292 of me refusing to shove her into one "goth" category 😤

gonna hop on eah tumblr for a bit coz there's so much drama for a dead fandom and i wanna join
ok so, this has prolly been said many times before,, but I don't like the apple and raven switched at birth theory. I feel like it just undermines the main message of the show about predetermined fate v.s. foraging your own, and how people's upbringings contribute to that.
like 'apple was secretly meant to be evil all along' or 'that why raven was so kind and compassionate' -- like,,, isn't that missing the whole point of the show?? The systems in the eah universe are meant to be oppressive/repressive -- and one of the main points, at least in my intrepretation, was should we uphold these damaging systems that confine us, or should we fight against them and create our own path.
i just feel like them being switched at birth,, would be so juvenile, idk if i'm wording this right

i think another reason why i REALLY love the eah shannon hale books (aside from how generally amazing they are) is how shannon hale expands more on the royal and rebel problem.
like in the show, we don't really explore the sides of the royals and rebels beyond the usual stance of whether they go against following their stories and support raven, or whether they want to follow their stories and condemn raven for not signing and starting the entire rebel movement.
but in the books i love how shannon hale expands upon the sheer amount of utter classism present in the eah world, and especially present in this school; perfectly encapsulating how those in power are very, very concerned about keeping this brand of classism ongoing, about keeping that divide between the 'Royals' and the 'Commoners' apparent.
just the little details of the royals and the commoners having different seats in the auditorium, with the royals having comfortable padded seats as opposed to the commoners having more uncomfortable and hard chairs, how they both have different common rooms; just the little details in general which highlight how the entire concept of destinies and signing the book and legacies is a system that is established in order to keep this classism going.
the legacy system honestly just breeds more of this classism; it tells the royals they are above the commoners and it tells them about how they deserve the happy endings and the prince charmings and the glittering gold palaces, and it tells the commoners of their place beneath the royals and firmly shows them the differences between themselves and the royals and how the commoners should be happy and complacent with the endings that they get.
overall, it tells both of these groups to simply accept what is being presented to them; presents the narrative that change is unfamiliar and dangerous and bad, and as such, they should never question their system and should instead just be happy with what they get, because, surely, this system is fair, so it just ends up being what they deserve.
hell, even the fact that before raven basically formed the royal/rebel movement, people were simply separated on the basis of being royals and commoners; it could literally not be made more obvious.
anyways, i just love the way shannon hale's books expand on this and i love how you can very clearly see the ignorance present in the eah world and how everyone's worldview is turned on its head because of raven and her actions 10/10.

getting emotional about dream of the endless again today. but this time it's daniel, not morpheus.
like, aside from just the trauma of being a little kid that gets the memories and power and legacy of an aeons old being. he's still dream.
you know that panel, where matthew says to daniel, "i was his friend. i'm not your anything." that is so horrifying to me.
morpheus was lonely. he was so lonely even though he had death and delirium and matthew and lucienne and every damn dream in his realm. and then he died, and a new soul became dream of the endless.
and now he has a new soul. a child's soul, that's so scared and so lonely again. and daniel didn't want to be lonely. he called matthew his friend. and matthew rejected him. and it was probably the same with lucienne and his siblings and hob.
morpheus!dream was terrified of reaching out when he had people that loved him. and now that daniel!dream is reaching out, everyone is treating him like a stranger. but he's still dream.
i understand that daniel is a new soul. a part of dream that everyone thought would never change over millions of years has changed, and it's terrifying. he's acting like a whole new person.
but how much of a person is really their soul? a human has the same soul their entire life. would a 5 year old and his own 80 year old self act or think like the same person?
daniel has morpheus' memories. daniel is morpheus. he is dream of the endless. he could take on morpheus' appearance if he wanted to. do his memories, that he remembers as his own experiences, that are his experiences, count for nothing?
and all the people he loves, he is meeting again for the first time. and there is no guarantee that they will still love him, even though now exists the potential for dream of the endless to start loving openly again.
it's just so horrifying and so heartbreaking to me. morpheus was so tired when he passed on. and now he is so scared and none of his friends will help him.
EDIT: and not to mention that daniel can't go back to anyone he knew as a human either. they all see him as dream of the endless, and all of morpheus' friends see him as daniel.
he has changed irreversibly because of something completely out of his control and he is so so lonely for it. and naturally as a person with no problems, i am being so normal about it.

I just needed to come here and vent for a moment. As a writer, I put a lot of time and thought into curating my ideas and outlining fics before I even begin writing. So, you can imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to a tumblr notification that someone had tagged me in a post titled “[My Fic Title] Part 2.”
Naturally, I was a bit shocked. After scrolling through it, I realized that this user had written a second part to one of my fanfics, and they tagged me to credit me for the original story.
While I won’t name the specific fic or the user (they did remove it per my request), I feel the need to address this publicly with a quick PSA.
My characters, storylines, cliffhangers, and everything in between are my intellectual property. Yes, the characters are inspired by real idols, and yes, some of my plots exist within established TV/film/book universes. But the ideas, twists, and execution are mine, and I’m the one who will decide how they unfold. (For clarity, the fic in question isn’t set in another media universe, but I wanted include this line since it is relevant for a couple of my other works).
I appreciate that this person enjoyed my fic enough to be inspired to write something themselves, but to be completely honest, I don’t think what they did was okay. I have some serious issues with this, and I want to share them to hopefully prevent this from happening to me—or anyone else—again.
First off, I find it incredibly rude that they didn’t reach out to ask my permission beforehand. Had they done so, I would’ve immediately told them not to go forward with it. Instead, I found out through a tag after the fic had already been posted, which felt like a slap in the face. To make matters worse, because of time zone differences, the post was live for hours while I was asleep, gaining traction.
I know that in the fanfic community, it’s somewhat common to write alternate endings or continuations for larger works from big-name authors or shows, but that’s not what’s happening here. I’m a hobby kpop fanfic writer. Writing a fanfic of my fanfic just feels out of line.
To be blunt, it felt like they were piggybacking off the success of my story, trying to steal some of the excitement I’d built for an upcoming second part. It also seemed like an attempt to siphon engagement, followers, and interactions from my readers—people who were already invested in the original work.
What bothers me even more is that I’ve publicly mentioned I’m already working on a second part. It left me with a bad taste, like this person was trying to rush out their version before I could post mine. That kind of move creates confusion for readers and, from where I stand, feels calculated and disrespectful.
So let me make this crystal clear: No one has my consent to rewrite my work, create additional parts to my fics whether they’re complete, on hiatus, or in-progress, whether or not i have mentioned that i'm writing another part, or to publish alternate endings, etc.
Thank you for understanding. - Raven

Harveston Rant
Ok, I need to rant here. What do you mean they last the sledathon?!?! I just finished reading the Harveston story and I'm like crushed. I get it, Night Raven is technically supposed to be the villains, so they always lose to Royal Sword Academy, the heroes, but that loss was unfair! I think this event finally helped me figure out why I'm always so repulsed by Neige and like the seven dwarfs' characters and I always get put on edge when they appear in the story.
They just come across as so...vapid. Like there reasons for wanting to win the sledathon was just, excuse my language, bullsh*t! Like I fully agree with Idia, Sebek, Jade, and Epel when they think their little plan to win the luck to share it with others is so ridiculous. Like yes, it's a nice thing to do I guess, but it just seems so silly compared to what Epel and eventually Idia, Jade, and Sebek's goal was.
Every time they appear it's like uh yep, here are the heroes and their plot armor. They never visibly put in as much effort as NRC does, but still win and it ticks me off! We see how much whatever the goal is in that respective story means to them and then you just get RSA there for the shits and giggles who we always somehow win.
I feel like if we saw the same effort, desire, and commitment from RSA in the story rather than being told or having to infer it then it wouldn't bother me so much but everything with RSA seems to be an issue with were we are told things and not shown them.
They had the hopes of an entire town going with them. They had stakes, an actually concrete goal, they were competing to compete. The dwarves were there for fun. You never see them care or put in as much effort as Idia, Sebek, Jade, and Epel did. Like they jumped a ravine and faced actual peril on the course, they desperately wanted to win and put their all into it, I never once got the same energy that the NRC boys put into it from RSA.
Their victory doesn't feel as earned as a victory from Epel, Jade, Sebek, and Idia would. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it just really got me raving. I really understand what Epel, Jade, Sebek, and Idia felt when they lost. So far everyone from RSA we've seen always make me so mad because they just come off as so empty and self-righteous.
They're kind without purpose, reason, or motivation. All of their goals just don't have the same kind of stakes behind them if that makes sense. Like Epel, Jade, Sebek, and Idia had something to lose in the Sledathon, they had people they would let down, and we didn't get the same from the seven dwarves.
If they lost the race yeah, they would have been sad, but they wouldn't have lost anything. I don't know if any of that makes sense, if anyone else cares, or if this is all in my head but it really ticked me off when they lost, especially because it feels like they only lost because they're the 'villains'.

Sebastian is the type to get random bursts of affection.
At the beginning of your relationship, he would suppress them, he'd be more reserved, scared to be too annoying, too clingy, too inadequate, too much. But eventually, he would relax — he would feel more at ease and gradually act on them more and more.
And one of his favourite activities is snuggling.
You could be sitting on the sofa, and he'd sit down too, and guide you between his legs, wrapping his arms around you from behind, and he would nuzzle your hair, your neck, your cheeks, eyes closed in bliss, and place very lazy kisses everywhere his lips can reach. Nuzzle, kiss, nuzzle, kiss, over and over again.
Or he would gently push you to lay down, and rest his head on your chest, face hidden in the crook of your neck so he can breathe in your perfume, lips brushing slightly on your skin, and he'd hug you like you're a giant pillow, and cuddle with you until he feels like he has fallen all over again. Because what's important to Sebastian is to feel you close, no matter how, no matter what.

I think Neil is always going to be a nostalgic little shit in the dumbest ways. I think they’re going to be retired in their mid-forties grown ass adults with a house and a mortgage, and one day Andrew wakes up alone and goes outside to see if neil’s gone for a run or something and then a shingle falls right beside him, and he looks up and Neil’s just. On the roof. Smoking a cigarette with his legs dangling over the edge of their little suburban bungalow and Andrew is just like “Jesus fuck junkie” because he’s too goddamn old for this.
