All Grown Up:

Summary: The Kazansky and Kerner’s watch their daughters graduate from High School.
🚨warnings🚨: fluff, soft Slider and Iceman moments.
{masterlist 📚} {previous chapter 📎} {next chapter 📖}
In honor of our baby Mousey graduating HS in a few weeks!
It was a hot afternoon in May on the Miramar base that the Kazansky family were currently stationed at.
Ice and Dragon couldn’t be more proud of their daughters as the couple and the Kerner’s sat by one another to watch this big moment in their children’s lives.
The tight friendship between their parents had been carried on to the Kazansky sisters and the Kerner girl.
When both women were told that they had a low chance to have a baby, it pained them to know that they wouldn’t be able to experience the same things as other couples on the base.
But by what seems like a wish upon a shooting star, within a month of each other, Rachael and Jade found out that they were pregnant.
Tom and Ron were very helpful during the pregnancies and tried to be there for every appointment and when the men couldn’t, the women would be each others support systems.
They were all thankful for this day, the girls because they could finally follow in their parents footsteps and join the Navy and the couples because it showed that their babies were growing up.
The girls were all dressed in their official Navy Officer uniforms, hair slicked back in the mandatory bun, and the Navy chords laying on the back of their necks.
Nerves shot up their backs as they waited in the line before walking out to the football stadium that held the awaiting parents.
Baylie Kazansky, the eldest, started the hand holding train with the two other girls behind her. As the leader, she made sure to care for the younger two.
Raven was in the middle and the youngest of the group, the older girls protected her at all cost and wouldn’t let anyone hurt their Mousey.
Last but not least, was Amanda Kerner. The only child of Slider and Whiskey, but saw the Kazansky’s as her second family.
All the girls had ‘graduated’ in the second semester of the school year and gone to bootcamp between then and now.
Today made it official and would get their diplomas that they worked so hard for during the four years of high school they finished.
The music started and the line moved to the door, one by one all the students came outside and sat in order, just like they practiced earlier in the day.
A speech was made by the Salutatorian before the Principal and the Vice Principal made their own.
A moment of silence was announced for the Military members present and who had passed then the Valedictorian made his speech.
More time passed before the Principal started to call the names of students.
As the last of the surnames that started with J’s were called up to the stage, Baylie buzzed with excitement and squeezed Raven’s hand, who in which returned it and did the same to Amanda.
“Baylie Ann Kazansky,” Mr. Simpson called and with one last squeeze, Bay started her walk to the stairs that attached to the stage.
Thinking quickly she jumped in the air on the last step and did a little heel click, a smile on her face after she stuck the landing.
She heard the shouts of her family as she shook her Principal and the Vice Principal’s hand as she held the diploma and the photographer took the picture.
At the end of the stairs stood a junior who handed her a red carnation with a silver ribbon tied in a bow around the stem.
She was just barely to her seat before her sister was called. “Raven Alice Kazansky-Fischer.” Mouse, as her nickname suggests, shyly took the stage and did the same as the many students before her.
Seeing her older sister cause chaos, just like her mother and aunt would’ve done, decided to also do something.
So, with a half-assed plan created, she slid down the bannister and almost fell on her face.
Amanda Kerner was known for being clumsy, often falling over her own feet, so why would today be any different.
“Amanda Louise Kerner.” She stood up and started to make her way to the stage, glancing up into the bleachers to find her family. Once she did, she gave a small smile and held her head up high.
When she was on the last step she missed and almost fell flat on her face, but at the last second saved herself.
Amanda started to laugh and her face heated up a little embarrassed about the whole thing as she walked up to the Principal and copy the hundreds before her.
After she had her carnation in hand, made her way back to her seat as the next student was announced.
The three girls scooted the chairs closer and held hands again, this time their achievements in the other as they all waited for the rest of the students to be called.
Ron and Jade both could see her body move with giggles and her face flushed a light pink as their daughter took the diploma.
Tom lightly smacked Ron’s shoulder as he laughed at his niece.
The Kerner parents have no idea where their daughter’s clumsiness comes from, both steady on land and in air, but they always had a good laugh about it.
Often making jokes and sharing the moments with Tom and Rachael.
Both couples did this with their children and the hilarious memories that would forever be remembered.
It only took seconds before the laughter turned into tears as they cheered or whistled for their children.
Proud was not the word that could describe this experience, because they all felt like that wasn’t the right one to use.
Both couples felt more than proud for their children, but didn’t know if there was a word to explain how much.
After the last student was called, another speech was made and then the Principal said the sentence that the girls and the couples were waiting for, “Please give a round of applause for the graduating class of 2017! You may move the tassel from the right to the left!”
One by one starting from the closest to the stage, all the lines of students started to exit and were free to find their families.
Ron, being the tall giraffe man that he is, spotted the girls first and guided the others to the recent graduates.
He didn’t wait for his daughter to see him, immediately pulling her into a bear hug and squeezing tighter when he feels her jump, a chuckle vibrates through his chest.
He knows that she realizes who it is after the chuckle, and turns around in his arms to hug him back.
Jade joins not too long afterwards, wanting the father and daughter to have a moment just for them.
Soon Ron lets go for the same reason as his wife, a special moment shared between a mother and a daughter.
More tears are shed as the embrace continues before Jade eventually brakes it, too choked up for words.
Ron stands in front of his little baby, tears gathering at his eyes as he looks at her in the Navy Dress Blues and sees a younger version of her mother.
He lightly punches her chin and whispers, “Here’s looking at you kid.” Amanda sniffles, tears threatening to fall again as she softly punches his chest, “Here’s looking at you dad.”
Ron pulls her into another hug, wanting this moment to freeze in time.
The Kazansky’s are too lost in their own little world to pay attention to the Kerner’s.
Baylie, the daddy’s girl she is, runs to Tom first. His callsign might be ‘Iceman’ but right now, his ice cold persona is gone for his beautiful daughters.
He pulls away slightly and kisses her forehead, “Come home to me, Bay.”
Baylie reaches up to her father’s forehead barely in her tippy-toes, gives him a soft head-butt and whispers back, “Always.”
He doesn’t stop the tears, nor would he want to. Both crying freely as they hug each other tight.
“You’re tarnishing the Iceman name, you know.” She chuckles.
“Right now Bay, I could care less about that, not while I have you in my arms.”
A short amount of time passes before Raven is in his arms.
“Keep me in your heart,” Tom murmurs into her hair.
“Keep me in your mind,” Raven replied into his chest as she squeezed him impossibly tight, knocking the breath from his lungs.
He doesn’t want to ever let go, so blessed to have a moment like this to share and remember as the years go by.
He never thought he’d get to experience his children’s birth, so he was beyond happy to see them graduate.
Rachael lays her cheek against Raven’s head as the two hug, tears falling from her eyes to the young woman’s hair.
Raven was in no better shape than her mother, tears running down her face as they hugged.
After a couple of minutes went by, seeing that Bay and Tom were finishing their little father-daughter moment, she reluctantly let go. “I’m beyond proud of you my little Mouse.” “I’m proud to be your daughter, biological or not.”
Rachael couldn’t hold the gates and started to cry again, but soon was hugged by her eldest. “You know that we’ll always be your little girls right?”
Rachael petted Bay’s hair, followed by a kiss, “I know, I know. It’s just hard to believe that our babies are so grown up.”
Bay didn’t respond, just squeezed her tighter. All the words needed exchanged between them through the embrace.
The memory etched into her minds eye forever.
Individual family moments over, the two families came together and celebrated the girls’ graduation with hugs and ‘I’m so proud of you’s.’
They all took turns taking pictures of each families before asking someone passing by to take a group.
With that done, they all hopped into their cars and headed over to Top Gun where their Aunts and Uncles were gathered and ready to see the Graduates.
When they arrived they were all bombarded with open arms, food and drinks, and ‘congratulations!’
The girls could tell by the warmth and smiles that these strong and brave men and women they’ve known their whole lives were just as proud as their parents.
The girls knew that their support system was always going to be there for every accomplishment they go through and couldn’t be more happy by that fact.
And as the years go by, more and more memories were created and photographed so they could all look back and relive the moments and the feelings they all shared.

For as long as you remembered knowing Iceman, you'd never known anything but a loathe for the blond pilot. Something about him made your blood boil. Maybe it was his perfection. The way he was already 5 steps ahead of everybody else before a decision had ever been made. He trained hard and was gruelingly strict on his self-discipline, and it made him a great pilot. One many would call perfect. It rubbed you the wrong way.
Or, if it wasn’t his utter perfection, maybe it was his unwavering cold attitude. His air of superiority and how he always wore this unamused gaze– almost like he was bored with you. The one that seemed to say to you “I don’t like you because you are less and incompetent” and that infuriated you.
And it wasn't a matter of believing if that's how he felt about every other pilot in Top Gun, because the blond aviator had stated it (along with his just as irritating RIO,) many times. But what didn’t help his case in your eyes was that he very obviously waved that arrogance around on a high flag.
The not-so-crazy thing was that he very strongly disliked you, too. He hated the way you could read him like an open book. How you could take one look at him and be able to tell exactly what was going on in his head. It was like you had X-ray vision or something. Your superpower unnerved him. He was renowned for being stone cold, unreadable, stoic, this untouchable pilot. Yet, you threw that whole concept out the window. It tore him apart and he hated to admit that, so instead he channeled that funny feeling he'd get in his mouth when you saw through him to simply hating you.
And perhaps it was selfish of him. A defense mechanism of sorts– but he'd never admit that.
Ice was suiting up to go on an early morning training session. He was already in a bad mood going into it as he was paired with his least favourite aviator, Maverick. Iceman would even go as far as to say he disliked the raven-haired pilot more than you, which was saying something.
However, when he saw you saunter up to him, he wondered if this day could go any worse. As you approached, an arrogant smirk plastered on your face, he felt his irritation spike. Rolling his eyes he turned away from you slightly.
From across the lockers you'd managed to pick out the sour look on his face, one that told you that he wasn't ecstatic to be up in the air flying with Maverick. To make a comment about it only felt natural.
“Have fun with Maverick up there,” you chirped, trying to catch his eye, “I'm sure he'll outshine you, but you shouldn’t let it deflate your ego too bad,”
The interaction might've been a little petty on your part, but the look of complete disdain he gave you was worth it.
“Thanks,” he bit jaw clenching involuntarily, not feigning how completely opposite he felt from words. There wasn't an ounce of gratitude in his tone.
You shot him a smile when you saw how ruffled you'd gotten him. A moment later, you turned and left the scene, feeling accomplished.
Joining the rest of the aviators, they were all in their flight suits. Bored and milling about in an open classroom, they chatted and laughed with their friends.
There was little word from the sky, but everyone was itching to hear how the two biggest classroom rivals had done.
A roar filled the air, announcing the return of the aviators. In a few minutes, Viper had entered the room. Everyone snapped to attention, facing the officer.
“There's been an accident,” he began, silencing any questions before they even were asked. “You've all been dismissed for the day. There will be no further flights,” he commanded, but the usual stoic look on his face showed just a flicker of somberness to it, letting you know it was serious.
As Viper left the room, everyone stood in shock for a few minutes before eventually filling out.
On the walk back, word had caught wind of the accident. It wasn't long before you heard what happened to Goose. The information had spread amongst the aviators like wildfire.
It was quiet in the locker rooms that day. You were getting changed when Tom walked in. He didn't spare you a glance, instead moving to his locker and stripping himself of his uniform.
His movements were machine-like, so much so that you noticed right away. Your unique ability to read him, like always, didn't falter, especially now . A mere glance at his eyes made it plain as day to you that he wasn't okay. His eyes were haunted, a distant, detached look present that made your stomach churn and a frown etch itself onto your face.
He disappeared after that. You finished getting changed and hopped into the showers. The running water was making you think. It wasn't long before an idea popped into your head.
˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
After the showers and with your idea in mind, you were standing at his door in no time. The rain was a steady downpour, hard water droplets had soaked through your clothes and left you chilled on the short walk. However, a small overhang on the side of the house had you rather grateful to be out of the rain.
You knocked. Nothing greeted your ears to answer. Maybe he'd gone out? Or, if he was in there, you didn't blame him for not answering.
But no answer wasn't good enough for you. “Tom?” you asked, knocking again, this time louder.
He opened the door. His cool blue gaze met your own. He took a moment to take in your form, shivering in the rain and drenched from head to toe, a confused and quizzical look piercing his usual stoic face. Much to your relief, he stepped aside without a word and allowed you in.
As soon as the door had closed, Tom turned to face you, his expression like stone and his words holding an air of reserve when he spoke, “What are you doing here?”
“I had to see if you were okay,” you answered honestly. Tom's gaze remained unchanged as you explained yourself.
After a long moment of silence and Tom's cold gaze remaining static you spoke again, hoping to clear this air of nervousness and unwelcome, “I'm sorry about Goose, Tom–”
The second Mavericks deceased RIO's name left your lips, you happened to miss his growing frustration. The anger and disdain building in his eyes. A few words in and it seemed as if a floodgate had opened. Tom's eyes flashed like lightning, “Quit that.” He spits, cutting you off while his jaw visibly clenched. “Quit pitying me, because I don't want it. I don't want your condolences. I don't want your help. I don't want you here.”
You opened your mouth to protest, “Tom, I–”
He didn't stop, only raising his voice over yours, the irritation in his words feeling like lashes from a whip, “Why did you even come here? We're not friends so stop pretending we are! I don't even like you, I hate you. God, You're so annoying.”
Heavy silence settled after his harsh words. Tom was seething, his ice-blue eyes were like a storm. He glared at you indignantly, irises full of disdain so powerful it made you shrink back under his scrutiny. The moment of tense silence seemed to grow as the seconds ticked by, Tom's words left hanging and the feeling shrouding the room like a cloud.
You could feel hot shame settle over you, your gaze diverting to the floor as embarrassment washed over your body in the form of skin that burned fiercely. Ice was right.
Why did you come here in the first place? In such a rush? Like you'd been buddy-buddy with the aviator for the entire time you'd been at Top Gun? Who were you kidding, you two had hardly spoken and when you did it was nothing nice coming from either of your mouths. Always bashing the other for their mistakes. Standing here in his barrack room you began to realize your very own stupidity as it turned to look at you in your mind's mental mirror. What were you even doing in his barrack?
Your skin was ablaze, feeling like you'd just been scorched as lava-like embarrassment coursed through your veins.
Voice quiet, shakier than you'd have liked while you tried to maintain your composure, replied as curtly and strongly as you could, “I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come.”
Ice doesn’t say a word as you leave his room, his face remains stoic while he watches you.
You're tossed back outside into the rain again, this time feeling stupid and naïve. Your emotions are a complete maelstrom. How could you have been so damn stupid.
As soon as you step out from under the overhanging roof you are reminded of the somber weather outside as it clings to your clothes. The rain thunders down around you, a relentless downpour that's only seemed to grow heavier. For a moment, you just pause, tilting your face to the sky and then, in an almost instinctual way, glance over your shoulder.
Only, the closed door hasn't changed like you'd hoped. It still remains closed, staring blankly back at you.
Fighting the disappointment, you turn away and begin walking again.
˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
A few days had passed since the accident.
Something in you had changed, quite drastically, because you no longer had anything to say to Iceman. You hardly even looked in his direction, if at all.
In the locker rooms changing, you refused to spare him a glance. You no longer found yourself standing by him just to poke at him and ruffle his feathers. In the classrooms you sat as many rows in front of him as you could, so you'd only ever have to glance back to look at him, which you never did anyway.
You’d personally never admit to it but it was killing you. Your heart was left in shredded tatters and this wasn’t helping at all.
Similarly, the blond aviator hated to admit it but he too found himself missing it all. It had taken a little while for him to figure out that he'd really fucked up.
Initially, the first day where you had avoided him and acted like you'd never even known him, he wasn't all that surprised or worried. He knew you'd come back to him.
He'd even managed to convince himself the feeling in his chest was relief. He wanted you gone, right?
But the feeling was everything but relief. When you didn't come back to him, he tried not to panic but he found that futile. One day turned into two, turned into three, and before long you hadn't so much as looked at him or talked for a whole week.
He realized that he didn't want you gone. He didn't want your comments or playful jabs to stop.
He realized he loved you.
Everyone was in a classroom inside, learning principles of flight and dogfighting tactics. The lesson was boring to Iceman, who’d heard the data a million times over.
Thankfully, the lesson was over quick and it was time for everyone to go back to their own residences.
As Iceman stepped outside, he noticed the small prickle of droplets on his skin. It was raining, and Ice was violently thrown back to the day you’d shown up to his door, soaking wet and sniffly.
He shuddered at the reminder, walking with haste through the downpour. It was then he caught sight of you, just a little bit ahead of him, walking down the paved walkway.
A near overwhelming remorse overtook him. He had to make it right to you.
˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
You walk with hurried steps, trying to escape the rain before it ruins your uniform. Through the noise, you can hardly hear your name being yelled over the whispered screams of the downpour. You turn around and are met with the image of a hurried iceman, jogging with haste towards you.
He comes to a stop right in front of you, “Hey,” he pants, taking a few breaths while he gazes down at you.
For a long time you do nothing but stare, taking notice of everything small: The way his chest rises and falls– a little heavier than normal.
The hair that sticks to his forehead, an occasional raindrop dripping off.
His eyes, how they’ve shifted into one of genuine apology, a contrast to the angry ones you’d witnessed when he snapped at you.
The same pair of eyes that now stare into yours, equalling your gaze. Buried deep, yet in a way so controversially recognizable there lies a plea in them that almost scream at you to accept his apology.
In all honesty, you don't know what to say to him. If you should be mad because of what he said or understanding because you know Goose’s accident was, and probably still is somewhere on his mind.
“Listen, I-” he pauses, straightening his posture, “I’m really sorry about what I said to you. I promise, I didn't mean it,” he finally says, “I didn’t mean any of it.”
He brings a hand up to wipe the water out of his eyes, blinking to look at you.
“What you said was really mean,” you replied quietly, still feeling that pulsating hurt from earlier.
Ice nods, “I know.”
Silence settles again, but it’s only temporary.
You sigh, deciding to ask the thing that’s been on your mind this whole time, “why do you hate me?” In truth, you want to ask him if he has any idea what he was doing to you by it.
It’s a simple question, but one that has the seriousness of a funeral and the demand of a Navy General.
“I don’t,” Ice replies, shaking his head. “Quite the opposite,” he adds quietly.
Now this peaks your interest, catching you completely off guard, “What?” You ask, giving him a quizzical look. You can feel your heart in your throat, beating wildly.
He pauses, blinking and staring for a moment that seems to go on for eternity. You wait with baited breath.“I love you,” he finally breathes.
The confession isn’t at all what you’d expected- not in a million years. But, it comes more of a relief.
Hesitantly, you take a step closer to him. Something that is such a miniscule action yet so major, and Ice notices it. He takes his own step, making it so he’s standing a few mere inches from you. His head is tilted so his eyes are on yours, icy blue and full of emotion.
His breath is warm against your face. Your eyes wander his face, trailing across the contour of his cheeks, down his nose, stopping on his lips before returning to his eyes.
A blush finds its way to your cheeks when you find the small amusement present in his eyes. It takes everything in you to not lean forward and close that gap and press your lips to his.
“If you don’t make the next move, I will,” you warn, voice holding a small plead to it.
Ice smiles a little, “gladly,” he replies before leaning in and closing the gap.
Your chest explodes at the feeling, breath hitching slightly.
His kiss is tender and soft, but quickly becomes more heated the longer you stand conjoined. The rain falls around you, wetting your hair and dripping down your skin, but you don’t care- too engulfed in him. You blindly reach out, grasping the tight material of his uniform and pulling him into you, deepening the kiss. He doesn’t object, only moving to press his lips even more firmly to yours.
Eventually, and with the utmost reluctance, you have to pull back slightly to gather your breath again.
“Hey Ice,” you murmur, resting your forehead against his, “I think I love you.”
He chuckles, lacing his hand with yours and pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “Let me walk you home.
Nodding, you let him lead you home. Now, walking with your hand intwined with his, you realize that maybe Ice was never as bad as you thought and you could get used to something with him.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓’𝐒 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐘: 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐱 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫
It had been five years since Raven Waters had laid eyes upon Thorin Oakenshield. When the two of them had first met, Raven a young mercenary trying to find her way outside of the Guild that had trained her and Thorin a wandering former prince just trying to do good until the time came for him to once again make his way back to his home of Erebor, the connection between them had been instant, and as they had spent more and more time together, Raven had thought that perhaps they could spend the rest of their lives with each other - until an incident had occurred that left Raven with a fresh scar across her throat and an empty bed as Thorin left in the middle of the night to once again travel to another town.
Not that Raven was not used to being abandoned. An orphan who had bounced around many foster homes in her youth, she had eventually found her place among the local chapter of the Silver Guild, an organization of mercenaries that had scooped her off the street and trained her in the best ways to sneak and infiltrate and kill. The Guild had been the closest thing to a family she had ever had, but she did not wish to be beholden to them forever, and they had, unsurprisingly to her, been perfectly willing to let her go, so she had set out on her own at the tender age of eighteen, wanting to forge her own path in the world of killing and focus her skills on taking down cruel and corrupt nobles and leaders, rather then simply working for anyone who would pay her enough coin. It was how she had met Thorin in the first place, and he had been impressed by her skills and how she was willing to use them to help the innocent… not that it had been enough for him to stay, in the end, but when had anything Raven did ever been enough for people to stay?
And now, five years after waking up to only a short note that offered no real explanation for why the dwarf prince had left her, Raven’s skills are being requested for an entirely different type of mission: helping the man she never thought she would see again finally reclaim the home he had always talked about. Recruited by a rather odd wizard who insists Thorin’s company will need her skills as a killer (which she suspects to be a rather weak cover for simply wanting to cause drama and tension within the group), Raven finds herself travelling Middle Earth with a group of rowdy dwarves, one rather fussy hobbit whom she isn’t entirely sure will make a good burglar, and the dwarf she had once thought the love of her life, who can now barely look her in the eye.
Raven really does expect this whole quest to be a rotten business, even if their company does somehow manage to defeat a dragon and reclaim Erebor for the dwarves. But perhaps this journey might also force she and Thorin to confront their past and the pain they have caused each other… and maybe even bring them back together as they hope to bring the dwarves back under the Lonely Mountain.

Waking On Air || chapter 1
The first time you noticed him was in the Top Gun meetings hall, after Viper had just introduced himself as your instructor. He was sitting front row along with a tall blond, constantly looking around in some sort of confident way, as if he belonged there more than any of the others did.
Your boyfriend, Tom Kazansky, mostly known as “Iceman”, kept giving him thoroughly dirty looks, making you a bit uneasy at the thought of having him start competing against other aviators once again — you thought he’d been over that phase, but you were apparently far from correct.
You didn’t get to catch his name, even though Tom was already halfway through cocky remarks and jokes about him, scoffing loudly on purpose the moment the young man declared that he did in fact have it in him to become the best of the best. He was confident — a little too confident for your liking — but Viper seemed to only encourage his engrossing ego by being so pleasantly taken aback by his uniquely strong personality.
“Babe,” your boyfriend’s soft nudge on the shoulder shook you out of your thinking trail and you slightly gasped inaudibly in surprise. “Me and the guys are going to the bar later, wanna tag along?”
“Sure,” you replied, giving him a short lasting squeeze on the hand and getting up from your seat. You almost missed the sarcastic and startling laugh, of who you thought was the blond aviator, targeted towards Iceman and his crew.
The second time you noticed him was later the same evening, at the bar. You and Tom were chatting about the new Top Gun entries while waiting for your drinks. Even though it was night, Tom insisted on wearing his sunglasses, which you honestly thought was stupid but also attractive.
“Ice,” you interrupted — his voice had gone all murmur-y after having spent a good amount of five minutes just trashing that cocky raven-haired stranger — “that’s Goose!”
Surprised by the enthusiastic tone in your voice, Iceman raised an eyebrow. “Yeah? How is that ground breaking news?”
“No, babe, you don’t understand — I haven’t seen Goose in years! He and I practically pampered each other up, he’s my childhood best friend and we lost contact after he moved to Miramar. God, I thought it was him earlier in the morning when he laughed at you but I couldn’t see very well. We have to go talk to him!”
And with that, you were already standing up and Tom was struggling to catch up with your quickening pace. By the time you finally reached Goose’s table, you were excitedly squealing his name. At first, Goose was startled, trying to figure out how you knew him, but like a bucket of cold water splashing into his face, he got up from his seat, wrapping his arms around you rather messily and smiling like an idiot.
“Roger!” he giggled while calling your call sign, pulling away from the embrace but still keeping his hands on your shoulder blades. “How have you been? My lord, it’s been years, you’ve changed so much!”
“I can’t stay seven forever, Nick,” you smiled. “I’ve been great, how about you? I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you more,” Goose replied warmly, then taking a short break to acknowledge Ice’s presence right next to you. “I see you’ve made quite a few friends here,” he added sarcastically.
Iceman scoffed and you rolled your eyes at him, silently asking him to keep his mouth shut.
“Not exactly. Tom’s my boyfriend.”
“Oh,” he mouthed. Tension was awkwardly starting to build between you. “I wasn’t really expecting that, but oh well. I should introduce you to my boy friend as well — Maverick, that’s my childhood buddy Roger, Roger, Maverick.”
So his name was Maverick.
You extended your hand to the other aviator, which he shook after a moment, lingering his fingers around yours for maybe longer than needed. He had the most mesmerizing eyes, you unwillingly noticed, subconsciously fighting every muscle in your system from getting lost in them. Maverick shot you a stunning smile as he finally retreated his hand from yours and placing it around a half empty beer bottle.
“Alright, it was glad to catch up,” Tom suddenly spoke, slamming you back into reality as he hurriedly pulled you away from the bar and back to your table. You shook your arm away from his hand and gave him an annoyed look.
“What the fuck was that for?”
Iceman sighed. “I’m sorry but I just cannot simply stand like an idiot while Mitchell’s ogling you.”
Your eyebrows curved in offense and surprise.
“No one was ogling me, Tom. I thought we’ve been over the aggressive jealousy phase anyway.”
Tom attempted to scoot closer to you, placing his warm palm over your hand and rubbing small circles on your wrist with his thumb apologetically.
“You’re right, I’m sorry,” he said lowly. You gave him a weak smile and pressed a kiss on his cheek before excusing yourself to go to the bathroom.
Just before you could push the door to get in, you felt a hand softly grab on your elbow, pulling you towards them, which took you by surprise, causing you to trip on the heel of your left feet and sending you hitting straight into a hard chest. Instinctively, you tried to avoid crashing your nose by pressing your palms against their chest. You heard a light chuckle emit from the stranger and your eyes travelled upwards only to meet with familiar blue-green ones.
“It’s you again,” you spoke — a bit too breathlessly for your liking — noticing how his lips curved into a cocky smirk.
“It’s Maverick.”
“I know. What kind of name even is that, did your parents hate you or something?”
“It’s just my call sign.”
You decided to ignore him and get out of the conversation by walking inside the restroom, but the stubborn aviator followed you inside.
“My name’s Pete Mitchell,” he added. Cute, you thought — he was trying to keep the talk going.
“Didn’t really ask there, Pete Mitchell.”
“Aren’t you going to tell me your name? Or is your actual name Roger?”
You huffed in annoyance and turned to glare at him. The smirk was still plastered across his lips and it was driving you freaking insane. “I have a boyfriend,” you opted to reply.
“Well it’s very nice to meet you, I have a boyfriend. My name is Pete Mitchell, but most people prefer to go with Maverick.”
You rolled your eyes. There was something ridiculously stupid about his personality, but you found yourself liking it — sort of. He was challenging you and you were always in for a challenge.
“I’m rolling dead on the floor,” you sarcastically replied, keeping a frighteningly straight face. “You think you’re just so funny and charming, Pete Mitchell.”
“I’m pretty confident about my character, yeah.”
“Congratulations. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go pee, so I’d appreciate it if you could get your cheeky little ass out of here.”
“I’ll meet you outside then,” he replied with a wink and you let out a very loud sigh as his presence was out of the restroom, slapping your hands against your forehead and rubbing your eyes.
God, he’s going to cause trouble, isn’t he?
You were grateful for the fact that he — in fact — did not meet you outside and you had the chance to go straight back to your table without any more inconvenience. Tom was drinking his beer, giving you a sweet smile as you approached him. You decided not to tell him anything about your previous encounter with Maverick, trying to forget about it yourself, but failing miserably, since his stupid smirk and his stupid green or blue or whatever eyes were tattooed in your brain.
Taking a big gulp out of your own beer, you pinched the bridge of your nose and glanced around the bar (hoping to catch Maverick somewhere but you’d never confess that).
Stupid fucking Maverick.
“Looking for someone?”
You looked at Tom, cold sweat forming on the back of your neck. He must’ve noticed you.
“Nope, just feeling tired. Do you mind if we call it a night?” you asked and he ran his hand along the length of your back, nudging the side of your neck with his head and placing a kiss on your forehead before nodding. You wanted to find an excuse to see him again — say goodbye to Goose, yeah that was a good idea, but you were worried it might’ve been a bit too transparent. After all, you would see Goose tomorrow, you knew that would be Tom’s exact answer. You kept your mouth shut as you walked outside, body feeling hot even though the weather outside was chilly.
Tomorrow would be a hard day.

Element Quiz
Tagged by the lovely @ravens-words. Thanks babe this was fun!
What element writer are you?
I got:
FIRE WRITER🔥
You burn. In the night, under the hot sun, you burn. You shine in the darkest nights, bringing to your readers an immortal fire. No one is able to portray feelings better than you. Emotions burn your characters, making them matches in dark rooms, lighting up everything, and burning from their own hands. Your best is shown in short stories, where the flames of your character’s souls can burn brighter than ever, and become ashes. Your stories hold the most passionate love, soft sighs whispered against a lover’s skin, and the neon lights of a night club. Pain is your second name, and you don’t mind it. Wars, betrayal, yearning, a/b/o and enemy to lovers are your favorite tropes. But when you decide to comfort, the fierce fire that burns in your soul becomes the warm hug of a blanket in a cold day. Established relationships, per-relationship fluff and medical fics are great at showing this softer side of you. Keep burning, and show everyone how hard a fire can burn, even in the coldest of the nights.
No presssure Tagging: @sgtbradfords @mrsjaderogers @bayisdying @ladylanera @semperhuggs @djdangerlove @callmemana @dragon-kazansky

School’s In: Prologue
Career Day at Kilmer Elementary School was always a hectic time for the teachers. Many of the students always wanted to turn the day and activities into a competition of who had the coolest parent or relative.
Jade sat coloring the poster for her class. Across from her was Baylie, who was sharpening the coloring pencils and poking Javy with them.
“Baylie! Stop poking Jav! He’s a friend.”
“That’s why I’m poking him cuz he can’t tell me no.”
“Baylie! I haven’t been saying no,” Javy says chuckling.
“I can’t understand what language you’re speaking,” she teases, sticking out her tongue at him.
He shakes his head and brings more posters for them to color.
“Jade… Who are you bringing to career day?”
Jade carefully put her markers to the side. “My dad. His name is William. He works in a restaurant and bar.”
“That’s more fun than a boring attorney,” Baylie says. “My mom goes to her office and only looks at boring things on her computer,” she adds with a dramatic sigh.
Jade gasps. “Being an attorney sounds fun! You can go to court and tell the judge all the bad things the person did!”
“I guess,” Baylie shrugs.
The next day the classes end early to allow the parents time to set up. Baylie is dragging Delilah to the table she helped prepare. “Ma this is your table! You’re gonna be with my friend’s Navy dad and my other friend’s drinking buddy.”
The moment Lilah and William meet they knew they’d be together, making their girls sisters. The girls continued to make friends and grow. And soon they were in high school.
Soon it wasn’t just Baylie and Jade. It became Baylie, Jade, Rachael, Lara, Grace, Amanda, Milla, Hailie, Robyn, Raven, and Alana. They each had their own likes and dislikes and interests but still were the best of friends all through the years.
These are some of their adventures as they navigate life and high school as the chaos squad.

I DID IT, DAD, ARE YOU PROUD? ━━━ Jake Seresin.
→ back to. . . series masterlist.

PAIRING, Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Malorie "Raven" Bradshaw (OC)
CHAPTER SUMMARY, Malorie knows that her graduation from Top Gun is something that she should look forward to, however knowing that no one would be there for her put a damper on that.
WARNINGS, past abusive relationship!, mentions of drinking, death, absent family and family issues
The day of your graduation was one of the happiest moments in the career of every Top Gun student. — The moment that all the hard work, every restless hour spend sweating into the uncomfortable material of a flight suit and the days and weeks wasted on sea, away from the ones that loved you finally paid off. The best of the best, the elite... there were many words for what they had accomplished but none could compensate for the feeling of standing on the podium, knowing that this was your moment.
As the day of her own graduation arrived on a sunny Friday evening with just the right temperature to be in a stiff uniform, Malorie did not the share excitement that made most of her classmates grin widley and roam around the base as if they were floating. Instead she was nothing but a miserable face, watching her classmate embraced her mother with an aching heart and a grip to her dogtags, her callsign Raven, a homage to her dad's call sign Goose, daintly engraved in them.
Growing up Malorie had always envied the little girls with their fathers, perhaps that was why she barely visited her godfather Ice as time moved forward, the sight of him with his daughters leaving a bitter taste.
Nick Bradshaw had died, years and years ago in an accident. He had been a Top Gun student just like Malorie was — He too had found comfort thousand feet up in the air, G-forces pushing your body in your seat, your vision tunneling, seconds from passing out — Her father had found his life and purpose in a F-14. He also lost it in a F-14.
It had been supposed to be just a training session just like every other day when the plane got caught up in turbulence and came plunging to the ground. When ejecting her father had hit his head on the canopy and had died moments later from the consequences in the arms of his best friend and pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. When his body had been retrieved after the accident they had found two pictures in the inside of his flight suit: a picture of a one year old Bradley wrapped up in his mother Carole's arms and the first ultrasound picture that had been taken of Malorie.
For the years following that it had been Malorie, Bradley and Carole against the world. Pete and his Wingman Tom "Iceman" Kazansky had swooped in to help immediately but no one could ever replace the man that was Nick Bradshaw.
Years later when the grief had settled and the emptiness in the heart was nothing but a subtle ache that followed one everywhere life had finally started to feel like it was alright and the Bradshaw family was finally content again. Until they weren't anymore.
It had come so quick and unexpected, Malorie hadn't even realized what was happening until it was almost over — One day her mother was dancing around the kitchen in a summer dress, giggling and singing and the next she was in a hospital bed, the life nearly entirely drained from her face as he watched her kids with a ghost of a grin, "I love you so much, my babies. I would never leave you.", she had said and Malorie had believed her.
Her mother died the morning after, one hand grasping Malorie's and the other one ruffling Bradley's hair.
It was then that shit truly went down.
For a brief few years Bradley and Malorie, 15 and 13 of age by the time their mother had been buried, had lived with Mav — It had been a chaotic few years. Malorie loved Mav. He was the closest thing to a father, she ever had but he was not cut out to be a family person. He wasn't suited to stay at home and cook at least one meal a day.
When Bradley was 17 he decided to follow their father's footsteps and enter the Naval Academy — He had been overjoyed and even promised to take her for a joyride one day but his excitement was shortlived when he got the call that his papers had been pulled by none other than Maverick.
Malorie didn't even process what was happening, all she knew was that Bradley had left over night and wasn't returning her calls anymore. Another person had left her.
The last remaining piece of family she had was Pete then and when the final moment came for him to leave to, Malorie was already predicting it. She had come so accustomed to people leaving, she didn't even bat an eyelid when he pulled her papers too and she came home that night to the house empty and the few things that solely belonged to Mav gone — He had called her that evening but she hadn't picked up.
She was on her own.
Over the years, Malorie had still stayed in contact with Ice and even visited from time to time, especially when she had entered the Academy in 2008 and Ice had just risen to Rear Admiral. He was the reason, why she had showed up to her graduation in the first place.
As Malorie made her way around the place, she could already see her uncle near the podium alongside the other admirals. He stood proud and tall, stoic as his call sign suggested but Malorie knew the man that stood beneath that cold exterior. He smiled warmly as she spotted her amongst the crowd, waving her over.
"Uncle Ice!", she greeted him, sighing as he gave her shoulder a comforting squeeze. He didn't blame her — To Ice there had been nothing better than his graduation from Top Gun, he had spend all day basking in the attention he was getting but Malorie had gone through too much for that.
"Hello darling," he beamed, pulling her into a sweet hug, "How are you holding up?"
"I'm getting by.", Malorie muttered and Ice watched with a heavy heart as her eyes darted around the crowd, hastily searching for someone, "He is not coming, is he?"
He lowered his head, "I don't think so."
Her shoulders slumped but she knew it was her fault for thinking her brother would show up in the first place. Malorie wasn't even sure if he knew that she had followed his example and had joined the Navy.
When Malorie had enlisted in the Academy in 2008, her brother had just entered his last year — Malorie had known that he was there, that she would inevitably one day run into him, still when the moment had come her inital reaction had been to bolt but Bradley hadn't even acknowledged her. He had walked straight past her, not even gifting her the relief of a last glance. Looking back now, Malorie wasn't sure if it was because he had simply deemed her as not his burden anymore or if he genuinely hadn't realized who he had bumped into.
After that incident, Malorie had decided to stay as far away from her brother as possible but that didn't mean that some part of her — The seventeen year old girl that had been left and abandoned to fend for herself all those years ago wished for him to come back and tell her he is proud of her.
"I'm sorry.", Ice muttered, taking her hand in his for a brief moment of comfort, "I know it's not much but I'm proud of you and god knows your dad would be too.", with one hand he brushed the multiple medals that graced her chest, smiling fondly.
Malorie felt her eyes well up with tears. She wished she had met her father.
"Now go and make some acquaintances. Can't have you rely on me for dating advice forever.", he grinned, although his face fell as he broke into a coughing fit.
Malorie frowned, "Are you okay?"
Ice wheezed painfully but nodded, "I've been having this sore throat for a few weeks now but I'm gonna be fine," he relented when he saw her face twist with worry, "Probably just a cough."
Malorie nodded but her frown stayed persistent.
"Go!", he stressed pointedly with a swift motion of his hand. Malorie rolled her eyes but complied.
The ceremony had wrapped up well over an hour ago but the place was still lively with friends and family celebrating all around. Malorie felt herself become frustrated — The chatter and laughing gave her a pounding headache and her body yearned for a strong drink and a cigarette.
She knew she should be packing. Tomorrow she would be reporting to deployment first thing in the morning but that was tomorrow and tonight she could still live.
Just as she was about to leave for her car, a warm hand grasped her arm, not painfully tight but tight enought to make her halt in her movement, "What? You wanna leave without saying hello?", a familiar voice teased.
Malorie's head snapped around to face him with a genuine grin, "Jake!"
Jake Seresin had been in her brother's graduation class — His reputation hurried ahead of him and Malorie had originally made it her mission to keep away from him. She heard the stories — Hangman, they had called him and Jake prided himself with his call sign. He basked in the pleasure of leaving people to hang out to dry for just a slight moment of glory just to himself. Jake Seresin had been everything Malorie was afraid of becoming but that was before, when all she had of Jake were whispers in the halls and brief moments during training.
But things had changed — Jake had changed. At least in Malorie's eyes.
Malorie remembered the night vividly — the dimly lit hall, the sound of pounding footsteps running down the hall, the face of her boyfriend distorted in fury.
Malorie had been in love once. The relationship had started of tender and sweet and she had once even thought that they would last forever. However her carefully build up paradise had crumbled down slowly and tediously just three years later. Malorie had noticed the change in him quite early on — The way he would pry more every night about the people she talked with that day, the way his grip tightened on her ever so slightly whenever she talked with another guy, just tight enough for it feel uncomfortable but not enough to hurt. It was all so painfully oblivious and still when it came down to that very night in the Academy Malorie felt like she walked straight into a wall with no warning.
Her boyfriend had laid his hand on her more than once in their relationship, he had always made it up in the morning with breakfast in bed and a bouquet of her favorite flowers but that could never take back the bruises and the scars and the mornings spend in the bathroom, trying to cover it up. Over the months it had gotten worse and worse and when the time came around for Malorie to leave for the Naval Academy, her boyfriend had reached his breakdown. The thought of Malorie being constantly surrounded by men who were all trained and confident with him being thousand miles away was enough for him to go absolutely crazy.
Every day after school Malorie would open up her phone to hundreds of missed calls and angry messages. She tried to reason with him every day that she was there to focus on her career and that he was the only one she would ever love but to no avail.
Malorie had never expected him to actually show up at the Academy, rapping against her door in the middle of the night. But he was there. Malorie remember stepping inside the hallway with him but she had barely closed the door behind her when he already pounced at her with his fists.
This is how I die, Malorie had thought in that moment — and she had felt at peace with it.
But her boyfriend couldn't even get many hits in when suddenly there were rapid footsteps racing down the hallway and he had been ripped away from her — Jake Seresin, her savior in uniform.
Now he was here, once again a shine of light in a world of darkness. The one to show up when no one else did.
"Raven!", he smiled, pulling her in a tight hug, "I am so proud of you! Man, watching you up there had me almost emotional."
Malorie frowned at his words but melted into his embrace nevertheless, "What are you doing here? Were you that bad that they only let you graduate now?"
"Please", Jake scoffed, detaching himself from her but still keeping a comforting hand on her back, "I'm here for you, you dummy. Need to make sure everyone knows my favorite girl is a badass pilot."
"Your favorite girl, hm?", Malorie hummed, leaning her head against his arm, "Well your favorite girl was just about to get the fuck out of here and get herself a drink."
Jake grinned, showing off a row of perfect teeth, "Now we're talking.", he feigned a bow, extending one arm towards the parking lot, "After you, madame."
Malorie's car — a red Pontiac GTO with white vinyl upholstery was her pride and joy. She had bought it all the way back in 2006 after she had saved up every paycheck she got since her 16th birthday for it. It had been with her through everything: Moving out of her childhood home into her first apartment, moving in with her boyfriend, the Naval Academy. It worked like that too. The car itself was from 1964 but had been remodeled to have an upgraded engine, factory AC and a MP3 radio upgrade just before Malorie bought it. The air conditioning had stopped working in 2010 mid-drive and when you wanted to play a song the only sound that came out of the speakers was rustling and murmuring, it smelled like wine and cigarettes in it but nevertheless Malorie would never sell it even if it was the last thing she would do.
"Your car is still driveable?", Jake exclaimed in disbelief as his eyes fell on the red Pontiac sitting in between a Jeep and an Audi, both obviously a recent purchase, like an outcast.
Malorie nodded proudly, absentmindedly brushing the hood of her car. Jake watched her every movement, his always so cocky, confident exterior melting every so slightly at the girl he had grown so fond of.
"C'mon", he muttered, snapping himself out of his daze, "I'll drive — I think you need that drink more than me."
The bar they went to was stationed right at the beach, it was run down and stiffy but the prices were cheap and the drinks strong so it was a popular choice amongst the Top Gun students. Jake and Malorie sat down in a booth next to the window and immediately ordered a beer each.
"So, Hangman", Malorie started as they were settled, "Aren't you supposed to be in like... Cuba?"
"Spain, actually," he corrected, clearing his throat, "I'm on leave right now. I came home yesterday."
Malorie halted in her movement, "You came home yesterday? What are you doing spending your time in this filthy bar instead of with your family?"
"Wanted to be here for you, 's all.", he murmured under his breath, taking a big swing from his beer, "Had to pull a few strings but I'm here, aren't I?", he stopped, starring at his beer intensely.
"But... why?", Malorie stressed, leaning slightly forward to have a better look at his expression.
Jake visibly hesitated for a moment before he too leaned forward, swallowing deeply, "Your my favorite friend, Mal. I didn't want you to be alone for your big day."
Malorie felt her heart swell at his words — He had driven all this way just for her? Her own brother hadn't even texted her in years and here Jake was trading precious hours with his family solely so that Malorie had someone there for her graduation, "Jake Seresin, you fucker, you're gonna make me cry.", she giggled, bringing the one hand that wasn't occupied to where her heart sat. It thumbed rapidly against her rip cage under her fingertips and Malorie swore it would leap straight out of her chest if Jake continued to look at her with so much care and love.
After that particular night in 2008 Jake and Malorie had spend more and more days and nights together and even after Jake's graduation they had still talked and texted almost everyday. At first it had felt unfamiliar and menacing to have someone love and care for you so deeply after being abandoned on the side by so many. Malorie remembered waking up every morning thinking that that would be the day that Jake finally left her too — But that day never came. Even almost four years and thousand miles later Jake was still there, going above and beyond for her.
"Don't flatter yourself, Raven.", Jake teased, retrieving his hand and Malorie couldn't help but scoff: That was the Hangman, everyone knew.
They stayed in that bar for another three hours, talking and drinking the night away. Malorie knew that things would change when the morning came and she would leave for deployment but for now she could stay in this moment forever — When it was just her and Jake and when for a moment, she found where she belonged.

Can you do prompt 8 from the list please? :) thanks
ofc ofc anon! I was really looking forward to this one!
Prompt #8: "we accidentally got married last night."
cw: references to sex, implied sex, language; Minors DNI
———
He doesn´t remember how he got here. But he´s not sure he wants to know at this point.
He was lying in his bed, extremely hungover.
And there was someone in bed with him. Cuddling with him. Practically lying on top of him. Mostly naked. Oh god—not just anyone, either.
¨Pete?¨
The man in question stirred, waking up. He looked up at Ice blearily.
¨Tom?¨
Then he snapped awake, coming to his senses. ¨Tom?¨
¨What the hell happened last night?¨
¨I don't kn—¨
He stopped suddenly. Ice looked down at him to see why Pete stopped.
“Are those wedding rings?”
They were matching gold bands. On the left ring finger.
“What the fuck did we do last night?”
Ice groaned, flopping back onto the pillows. “Oh my god. I'm calling Slider. I need to know what happened and why no one stopped us.”
Mav looked at him, brilliant green eyes glittering. His eyes held so much emotion. They stared for a minute, lost in each other's eyes.
Then Pete rolls off of Tom and clambers out of bed. He silently slips into a pair of pants before turning to the phone on the wall. Ice could hear him dial a number.
“I'm calling Slider, come get it before he picks it up.” Ice bolts to the phone. Mav grabs some clothes (probably not all his) and walks into the bathroom.
“Ron Keener speaking.”
“Hey, Sli.”
“Oh my god, Ice,” he hears boisterous laughter from the other side, “Is Maverick with you?”
“What the hell happened last night? Why am I married to Pete Mitchell without recollection?”
“Because you were both drunk and you proposed. He said yes, so you fucked off to the nearest courthouse and signed the shit.”
“Oh my god. Are you fucking me right now?”
“No, but I’m pretty sure you were fucking him.”
“Shut it.”
“My bad, my bad.”
Ice sighed. “Alright, Sli. I'll see you soon.”
“Bye, Ice.”
A click, and Ice put the phone back. He turned back to look at his bedroom. It was usually pristine, but this morning, it was a mess. His and Mav's clothes were strewn all over the floor. He grabbed the discarded clothes, tossed them into a basket, and started getting dressed.
He was glad he and Mav became friends after TOPGUN. They'd both decided to stay as instructors. They'd grown extremely close. Charlie transferred to D.C. not long before they'd accepted the job. And Mav had mellowed slightly, no longer fighting to prove he deserved to be there.
And Tom was so fucking in love with him. Maddeningly so.
It wasn't just that he looked like a god (those green eyes did more to him than he'd admit). He was a damn good pilot and a genius. He cared about people, so much so that he often forgot to take care of himself. Pete Mitchell had heart. Pete Mitchell had his heart. And he wanted Maverick's heart in return.
He felt eyes on him. He turned to see Maverick staring at him. Unabashedly looking at him. His eyes had a mischievous glint, a ravenous smirk on his lips. God, he wanted to kiss it off.
Instead he asked, “Like what you see?”
Mav blushed. “I'm not telling you for free.” Coward.
“Alright,” he said, brushing it off, “What do you want for breakfast, Hotshot?”
Mav mutters something under his breath.
“What was that?”
“You.”
What. “Ha ha, very funny.”
Mav crossed the room in a blink. Boxed Ice against his own wall. Looked up at him.
“Did I stutter, Kazansky?”
“Actually—”
Pete yanked him down into a kiss. Fiery, intense. Tom froze with a gasp. Mav bit down on Tom’s lower lip. That woke him up. He kissed back, impossibly harder. Fast, hard.
Tom pulled back, panting. “Damn.”
Mav laughed. “What? No snarky comeback?”
“Shut the fuck up, Pete Mitchell-Kazansky. Just kiss me.”
“Oh my god, I forgot. That's so hot.”
It was Tom’s turn to laugh. “That we got married last night?”
“And that you're probably why it's hard to walk.”
Oh. Oh damn.
Tom kisses him again, hungry and slow. He wants to take him apart, piece by piece.
“So I assume you're not going to divorce me immediately?”
“Oh my god, I'm trying to get in your pants right now.”
“Oh, then hurry up and do it. You talk so much, I couldn't tell.”
Ice made sure to shut his husband up thoroughly.

Top Gun: Maverick | Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw x Fem!OC
Also published on my Wattpad (-voidheroes)!
Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell had expected his day to go quite differently. Though, he couldn't say he was surprised to find himself in his superior's office being reprimanded; it had become a regular occurrence over the past thirty years.
Today was simply supposed to be the mach nine test for Darkstar, a program Maverick and his team had been working on for some time now. However, before the test could begin, the team received word that Admiral Cain was on his way to shut the program down. Maverick's heroic nature refused to let that happen, so he did what he did best: break the rules.
He suited up and took off in Darkstar right before Cain's arrival. The official mach nine test was a success, but to keep the program alive, Maverick needed to reach mach ten. And he did. In fact, he exceeded mach ten until he blew it, quite literally. He crashed landed in a nowhere town in the middle of the United States.
On base, Admiral Cain was waiting for Maverick's return, so he could officially ground the captain permanently. Except, a call came in with impeccable timing that would keep Maverick in the air just a little while longer.
Now, Maverick was being reassigned to the North Island or what's better known as Fightertown, U.S.A., the home of Top Gun. Since his graduation in 1986, he had tried his luck as a Top Gun instructor, but he quickly realized he was a pilot, not a teacher. After two months on the job, he quit.
Upon his arrival, the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School was just like Maverick remembered. The halls were decorated the same, but each year new memorabilia was added from the previous graduating class. One wall still held the photo of Iceman and Maverick after their first mission together. Then, behind him, was a photo of U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander, Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Maverick stared at the photo of his friend with honor and gratitude. Without him, the Navy would have quit on Maverick years ago.
Maverick was escorted to a room where Admirals Beau "Cyclone" Simpson and Solomon "Warlock" Bates debriefed him on his new purpose at Top Gun. A uranium plant was violating a NATO treaty, and the Navy was tasked with eliminating it.
The mission would be difficult. Satellite imagery showed the enemy had surface-to-air missiles, fifth-generation fighter jets, and GPS jammers. However, looking at the recon before him, Maverick easily devised his plan of attack.
"You misunderstood," Cyclone said after Maverick explained his plan. "We don't want you to fly it. We want you to teach it."
"Teach, sir?"
A handful of the best Top Gun graduates had been selected to be trained for the mission. After the three-week time period was up, Maverick would be forced to choose a team leader. Cyclone and Warlock displayed an array of candidates and Maverick recognized a familiar face, one that haunted him. It was Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, the son of his former RIO, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw.
To this day, Maverick was still guilt-ridden over the incident. He tried to be there for Bradley, tried to be the father he lost. But after delaying Bradley's naval career, the two men stopped seeing eye-to-eye.
"Is there a problem?" Cyclone asked.
"You know there is."
"I want to make you aware of another problem, Maverick," Warlock intervened.
Warlock pulled up the file of a female aviator, "Emerson Raye Blackwood, call sign, Raven."
Maverick stared at the screen before him. It was like seeing a ghost; there was something so terrifyingly familiar about her. "And that is, sir?"
"You need to watch out for her. She's a lot like you, Maverick."
"Dangerous is the word I would use," Cyclone finished.
