Thinking out loud, but been noticing that KyoAni puts out new birthday art/merch of the Free! boys rather faithfully every year, but I'm starting to think: what if every year they intentionally fashion their official birthday portraits to be just that little bit older? Are we watching our boys grow up in real time now? Mind is blown.

You know what would be wholesome? Pure Vanilla and Dark Cacao babysitting Snapdragon

Of course, Pure Vanilla would spoil the little thing rotten with all sorts of treats and attention. And to top it off, he has the "all babies are born innocent and can do nothing wrong" mentalitie, therefore Snapdragon can get away with anything

But Dark Cacao being Dark Cacao, he isn't all too convinced. Coming from someone with a not-so great relationship with dragons, he almost acts like Tarte Tatin, *almost* As much as DC dislikes little Snappy, he still cares about them, even somewhat being reminded of Dark Choco when seeing them

Snapdragon(most of the time), is relatively behaved but will slip away the minute eyes aren't on them, which causes panic with the two rulers. Hey, not like their kingdoms handle it any better:

If there was one thing residents of the Dark Cacao Kingdom hate more than the licorice monsters, it's dragons. So safe to say, little Snappy wouldn't have the warmest of welcomes. But despite the hate, they are some who have empathy for the creature. Caramel Arrow for example, upon seeing little Snappy, she'd immediately go into older sister mode and would protect them at all cost, play with them, and even tucker them out for naps. Crunchy Chip, however, isn't the same, he believes everything the king says, so if dragons are evil, they're evil. He would attempt to scared little Snappy with the Creme Wolves, only for his plan to fail miserably, in fact, they managed to befriend most of his wolves, much to Chip's dismay. But slowly, he does manage to warm to the creature, an impressive feet for someone that is not a wolf

Meanwhile, in the Pure Vanilla Kingdom, it's the complete opposite. Rather than fear and terror, villagers of the Pure Vanilla Kingdom would express curiosity and intrigment towards little Snappy, it's not everyday you see a baby dragon running around. Not everyone is excited however, Black Rasin, very overprotective of the villagers, would show much distrust around little Snappy, while to warn the other villagers about how dangerous dragons can be, but it takes much convincing to see that Snapdragon wasn't a threat. But no one's more curious about little Snappy than Strawberry Crepe, a bit too curious. By just watching the creature running around the village was enough for them to have their wafflebots scoop up the little Snappy and take them directly to their lab. They become the ideal playmates, even though some games they play are a little on the unsafe side, which are exactly enough to put both of them to sleep

All and all, Pure Vanilla and Dark Cacao would both great babysitters, as long as they don't look away for more than a second
