I know this is a bit sudden, buuuuuuuuut...
Tumblr media
I've been thinking a fair bit about the canned MSM tv show recently. For those not aware, Big Blue Bubble was originally planning to turn My Singing Monsters into an animated series. However, they've since canned it for... reasons? I dunno, I’ll never understand how BBB came to can this idea, but from the looks of it, this series looked like it would be very good. I even have a few thoughts dedicated to how this could work, if it ever get brought back from the dead. And that includes things like the personalities of the main characters, along with some juicy ideas for things like worldbuilding based on the games' surprisingly deep lore.
Pom Pom- A cheerful soul motivated by endless creativity. Her main goal in life is to create various musical masterpieces as a sort of maestro. A bit like Charlie from Hazbin Hotel, if you can see it.
Mammott- The lovable doofus of the trio. Loyal to his friends, Mammott isn’t the brightest bulb in the shed, but his heart is much larger. Can get into sticky situations due to his state of mind.
Furcorn- The straight-Mon of the trio. While he’s more than happy to support his friends, he serves as the voice of reason within the group, especially with things like Pom-Pom going in over her head, and Mammott’s child-like curiosity getting the better of him. Is also both sassy and blunt.
While the general tone of this show would be similar to the laidback and wacky tone of the original games, Those Singing Monsters could have its own sense of worldbuilding, and that could be reflected in the tones of its seasons. The plot of at least the first season revolves around Pom Pom and co going on all sorts of wacky adventures across the Monster World, singing songs and getting into all sorts of mischief along the way. An idea for an overarching plot could go into in a couple of ideas.
Idea A- The rediscovery of the lost element of Fire, and the attempts made to bring it and the Monsters belonging to that element back into The Monster World. Could also expand on and and show off an animated iteration of the events of the Dawn of Fire, the events that led to its end and the Fire monsters being forced into hiding, and how it’s affected The Monster World since.
Idea B- Admittingly, this could work more as the plot of a Season 2, but the story of the Celestials could work. How they came into existence, their history with the Colossals, the formation of Starhenge, and how the end of the Dawn of Fire led them to being dormant. Due to some sort of problem, Pom Pom and co. would go on some sort of grand, season-spanning adventure to find the Celestials, reawaken them, and bring all of them back together.
It's not entirely perfect, but an attempt was made. Heck, you could even throw in more aspects of the franchise's world into this show for more plots; Things like the Magicals, the Shugafam (Probably have Shugabush be voiced by Kristian Bush himself), the Ethereals and the Pocket Dimension, the Rare and Epic monsters, the Wubbox and the Wublins, The Colossingum, Mythical Island, and more would all help with the stories of this show.
And as much as it sucks that it's currently canceled, maybe, in some sort of strange sense, there's hope for TSM. The franchise has been getting more and more popular in recent years, so Big Blue Bubble could be made to realize the potential of a MSM show, and roll with it. And besides, Fandemonium wasn't the best way to go around with the concept of a My Singing Monsters show. As much as I can get behind it, they should've thought about it more.

Woo and here's another monstiary page. Firstly I slightly re-formatted the pages and how I'll be presenting the information. Secondly I'm going to start making them "in order" with the exception of the single elementals (besides potbelly). I made a system to give each monster species a number, potbellies' #1, mammott's #2, etc. For the single elementals I'll be doing their pages during their months which is why I kinda rushed these pages out in two days as I had to finish them before the month ended : ). Thirdly I'm giving all the monster scientific names and breaking them up into extremely simple morphologically based taxonomic ranks so I don't need to re-state traits shared by multiple monsters (I'll elaborate on those once I make a diagram of the monster taxonomic tree thing) . Anyway, potbelly facts.
Potbelly have one to three heads, but most commonly have two. Their heads work quite weirdly. They are kind of each their own individual but they have a near identical thought process to each other. And the amount of heads is dependent on the individual and their age. As a potbelly ages they may grow an extra head or two, but at max they can have three. Edit: Forgot to add an image here, I forgot I even drew an example of the head variations honestly idk how I did that
Tumblr media
While potbellies don’t have proper eyes they can still see somewhat. Those dark spots on their bodies are extra sensitive to light being bounced to them and can project a simple, blurry grayscale image to the brain(s) that allows them to see. Because of how unreliable this poor vision is alone, potbellies rely on all their senses to get around.
To smell potbellies have scent receptors on the roofs of their mouths and their tongues which makes them have to repeatedly open their mouths to sniff the air and comprehend what’s going on around them. They hear by sensing vibrations in the ground through the leaves surrounding their roots.
Potbellies have those distinctive filled out “stomachs” that their name comes from. A majority of that stomach isn’t an actual stomach. As they are carnivores of course they have a fully functional stomach that’s made to actually get nutrients from solid food which is quite rare in plant monsters. But a majority of it is used for food and water storage to make up for a lack of large roots.
Instead of being used for nutrient absorption or storage, those aforementioned roots are used for both subterranean and terrestrial locomotion. Those teeny roots are incredibly strong and can easily carry the weight of the rest of the potbelly’s body. In a similar fashion to an octopus they can crawl around on their roots to move. They can even swim! With these all-terrain limbs potbelly can go anywhere they please.
Potbellies like warm, wet, environments but can live anywhere if needed. They are carnivores that eat small critters to supplement their diets as they prefer to live unrooted or in small pots so they can’t get many nutrients from the soil.  To eat they simply have evolved a sweet smelling breath that attracts bugs and the sorts to their mouths and then they snap them up. Because they are large plants they don’t have any predators.
Before I get to the next paragraph I need to mention I'm giving the critters names and the plant island critters are called toukeenies (pronounced like a combination of toucan and teeny) and I made a drawing of them. Also side note all the bird critters have four wings.
Tumblr media
To keep their teeth clean they have developed a mutualistic relationship with plant island’s toukeenies. Whenever they smell them they open their mouths and allow the toukeenies to pick out anything they find between their teeth. They’re very good at recognizing them as they smell with their mouths so they can instantly tell when the thing in their mouth is or isn’t a toukeenie.
NEW SECTION! Variants! In this universe the variants aren't called rares or epics simply to make it so I don't have to include the ones I don't like at the cost of having to come up with more names.
Tumblr media
Red Potbelly are like the common versions except they are red, generally are more active, prefer drier climates, and they have a different leaf shape, not much to ‘em. They do have higher metabolism and dependence on food as they are worse at photosynthesizing due to their red color. And because of the low amount of sugar in their diets they tend to be leaner.
Tumblr media
A small isolated group of potbellies in the earth lands evolved to be active predators rather than waiting for their prey to come to them, they lost their sweet breath and evolved horns and scales to protect themselves in their more active lifestyle. They also have feet and wings too for ground locomotion and climbing. Their wings are too small to fly but the little claws on them aid in grabbing onto ledges. More developed forked tongues allow for a more acute sense of smell that makes it easier to track moving things. And their longer fangs make it easier to pierce through prey and they then wait for them to bleed out like a komodo dragon.
Just to end off this post here's some sketches I made to explore ideas and also practice a more cartoony art style

Fandemonium Funtime - The Escape
Tumblr media
Mammott thought for a bit, and decided that his best options were the monsters that weren’t Kayna. So he leapt out towards Tweedle and Phangler, but they both managed to dodge his attack. Kayna then stepped forward, shielding the aquatic and avian monsters from any other attacks. “Tweedle, fly Phangler over to Psychic Island, one of his counterparts should be there already to keep him company” Kayna demanded. “But what about you Kayna?” Phangler asked. “Just…GO, BEFORE ANYMORE HARM IS DONE TO YOU” Kayna yelled, which she rarely does considering she’s one of the most kindest monsters on the planet. It was this factor that made Tweedle and Phangler knew they just couldn’t say no to Kayna’s idea, so Tweedle picked up Phangler and the two headed off to Psychic Island. Admittedly it was a pretty long trip. Tweedle had never really been to Psychic Island, although she had heard of it before, so Phangler had to act as Tweedle’s GPS. Despite this, they eventually made it and Tweedle was able to safely drop Phangler off. “Yooo Phangs!” A voice said. “Tweedle was startled a bit and asked Phangler who that was. “Oh, that’s my Epic counterpart!” Phangler told Tweedle as Epic Phangler came running towards his common counterpart. Of course, Phangler had to introduce Epic Phangler to Tweedle and asked her if she was going to stay at Psychic Island, to which Tweedle refused because she thought Psychic Island was a bit too weird for her taste, and she thinks that Earth Island is much safer and warmer. So with that, she said goodbye and flew off to Earth Island which was much easier to get to because she had been on Earth Island plenty amount of times. Once she arrived, she was greeted by Tawkerr and Humbug. “Hi Tweedle! If you don’t mind…I need some help. You see, Stoowarb is missing and I tried looking for him myself but to no avail…so I thought the best monsters for the job are ones who can fly up high and search for him in the sky. Humbug has already volunteered to help search for him, so…will you as well?” Asked Tawkerr. “Oh of course! Anything for a pal!” Replied Tweedle. “Cmon Tweedle, let’s go find Stoowarb!” Humbug exclaimed, and the two flew off to find Stoowarb. They checked high and low, near trees and rocks, even around the castle, but they still couldn’t find Stoowarb. Eventually, they came to a dead end and had to decide whether to go left or right. Humbug wanted to go left but Tweedle wanted to go right. This was the moment the two monsters finally disagreed and started to argue, but secretly watching their argument was none other than Pom-Pom and Furcorn, who teleported to Earth Island and were hiding behind a rock. “You see those two over there Furcorn? They’re arguing as if they were toddlers… hey, you think I should follow one of them once they make up their mind?” Said Pom-Pom. “Oh yeah, which one are you gonna follow?” Asked Furcorn. “…Good question…let’s see…oh I know! Furcorn, you can decide!” Pom-Pom told Furcorn, who said “Why can’t you choose?” Pom-Pom thought for a bit and said “Because…because…I don’t know! I guess itll be more fun if you choose for me…”

Listen.
Tumblr media
okay this one is going to be long. The short answer is I imagine mammotts to be a distant cousin of Bowgarts, and the four nips are evidence that they both evolved from the same dude.
The long answer starts with me explaining my silly specbio for the Monsterum Sings. The element system is mostly disregarded, being only an aesthetic thing that acts more as a social phenomenon, like star signs. Should it crop up in any given monster’s biology is happenstance that won’t have too much bearing. Prompted by my seeing that certain monsters share similar attributes even without being a breeding combination. It is not a huge leap of logic to think that ‘Oh, furcorns and Shugabushes share a lot of traits, perhaps they have a common ancestor much like the modern human and apes?’ Am I making sense so far? Oh well. They’re creatures. I know ingame they’re made of dimensional slime and good vibes but here I want to be semi-realistic. Entirely for my own enjoyment. Since I've only gotten as far as Fire isle #1 ingame, that is as far as I'll go here.
Heres the hoedown: Mammotts, Bowgarts, Deeges, Pompoms, Hoolas and Werdos all share a common ancestor - which I'll dub the Prefeapole - a furry bipedal mammal with two primary arms, two secondary arms, the beginnings of antlers, and a thick coat of fur. Through a convoluted series of events that likely had something to do with colossal migration, the Prefeapole population scattered around the monsterverse and evolved into the Feapole we know today. Mammotts and Deeges were developed in the colder continents, while Hoolas and Pompoms were developed in dryer continents, And Bowgarts and Werdos were developed in the Mountains.
Tumblr media
Bowgarts specifically are the strain of feapole that best resemble the Prefeapole, still retaining the standout attributes of 'antlers' and 'four arms'. Should these connections not seem too feasible, I encourage you to look at the Rares and Epics, who I posit aren't even Rares or Epics but rather grey matter that fills in the gaps between dominant subspecies. Inspect this handy web I created in ms paint.
Tumblr media
Does this make any sense? Am I talking logic? Do you see my vision? Theyre all the same primate, which is why I all give them roughly the same skull shape and forehead nostril (the latter aspect not being rooted in any reference, but rather just something I thought made them visually distinct).
So Mammott having four nips is not just a funny heehoo joke, it's a biological remnant of the ancestors they evolved from. they used to have four limbs, and thus four pectoral muscles. The bones may have worn away through time, but the nipples persist. A sentence I never thought I would write, but the future is hardly calculable.
Other miscellanious notes that relate to the feapole family web: - Deeges are the most recent mutation. The 'Speaker in forehead' gene only cropped up in the past thousand years or so; As a result, the Deege population is the smallest of all the feapoles. Some Deege have small enough speaker indents that they can be hidden by their fur, and those who do are often misunderstood to be very strange mammotts. - Werdos are an odd bunch. Much less of a subspecies and much more 'four people who got won the genetic lottery'. They have the large size of their Prefeapolean ancestors, but thats where the similarities end. Werdo antlers are more structurally similar to horns than anything, not to mention they've got the hand poofs of a pompom... made of anything *but* fur! Don't even get me started on the magical voices that can reach human ears, they're [SWEAR WORD]ed. - What visually sets Poms & Hoolas aside from their other feapolean cousins is their peculiar bare limbs. This attribute is a direct result of the climate they spawned in. Dry environments like plains and savannahs lend themselves great to ticks, fleas and other parasitic bugs; And the Feapole's thick fur turned out to be the perfect breeding ground. Rather than leave the area they'd grown to live in, Poms & Hoolas started scratching off the infected fur on their limbs, some going as far to pull the fur out as it grew to prevent any bites. This got to the point where the bugs that were routinely attacking them went extinct, so the violent hairdressing was no longer needed. But even to this day, the fur on their limbs grows short and ribbed, a visual reminder of what they once had to tussle with.
Also to completely disregard everything I’ve just said what if they had four nipples because that’s the size of a typical mammott litter. Like pigs, or dogs. I’m so tired - I’ve done away with the element system that means the breeding system is out too. This is calvinball except every time i let go of the ball it ricochets back into my own face and noone notices.

Alina and Singing Monsters 4 Chapter:Plant island.
Meanwhile, with heroes.
The heroes sailed by boat to the plant island. The girls looked at the map while Alina marked the route with flags.
Christina:What else do you know about the monster world?
Alina:I know that their world in the form of a donut.
Girls:Wow!
Katya:And how can some islands be located?
Alina:Some of them are in the sky, and even almost near space.
Christina:They don't even need air.
Pladdie:We've arrived! This is the same Plant Island.
The heroes were surprised to see the island and immediately headed there. The island itself was filled with plants, from grass to trees.
Krash:It's like a whole forest.
Donut:And there are so many different trees.
Later, they saw Mammott and Furcorn sitting on the grass and eating apples. They just came up.
Mammott:Oh, hello!
Kayna:Hi guys. Have you seen any of my friends?
Furcorn:(I noticed the other characters) Oh, yes. For example, one of them is a round and a red bear. Almost like them (Points to kikoriki).
Krash:Hey, it's Barry.
Mammott:And we also saw people. Such as a farmer and a bird lover. Along with creatures like them.
Leo:It's Jose, Sana and their costumes.
Lance:But there should also be their Negabosses.
Furcorn:If you want, we'll show you the rest of the newcomers.
Two monsters led the heroes to the right place. When they arrived, they saw Barry, Jose and some island monsters tending the vegetable garden. Sana and Guardian Bird keeper put birdhouses in the trees. Liszt made swings out of plants for Furcons. And Alla and the rest of the costumes of Chapter 1 and 5 watched the plants.
Alina:They were found. (With the others, they stood in the center) Hello everyone!
Barry:That's how the meeting is. Our.
Everyone immediately turned around.
Balan:How are you all doing?
Jose:Everything is fine, Mr. Balan, Barry and I are making a vegetable garden for everyone.
Familiar male voice:And we are...
Boog, Eliot, Toy Jammer, Drumpler and Clamble came out of the bushes.
Eliot:We just tasted a delicious tree before it disappeared.
Alina:It's great, of course, but the hunters will find us and catch us. We don't know where he is now.
Noggin:Are they going to catch us?
T-rox:What did it mean to them?
Alina:We don't know, but obviously nothing good is going to happen. We also need to warn your boss and go straight to the others.
Mammott:To the bosses, we have two. Entbrat and his father are a rare version of Autumn.
Carlin:Then let's go.
Everyone headed towards the palace and stopped near it. Noggin immediately knocked on the door
Noggin:Good afternoon, plant boss, I have news for you.
Three versions of the Entbrat came out of the palace. They were very happy to see the heroes.
Krash:You said there were two of them.
Furcorn:And this is their grandfather, it's all about age. He's retired if anything.
Entbrat:Greetings to you, even beginners. What's the news?
Noggin:That girl named Alina says that we need to collect all the monsters and warn the others.
Autumn:What's the big deal?
Alina:The fact is that the hunters will come after us anyway and catch us.
Bardolf (Epic Entbrat):We absolutely understand and will go with you.
Jumping Jack:And by the way, we listened to their song plants. Even the werdos were singing.
Tawkerr:It's about us. We can sing to you.
Parlsona:You can also sing along with us.
Christina:Yes, but only Alina knows the lyrics.
Sana:We also. While you were gone, we remembered.
Entbrat:Well, a song is a song. Let's.
Everyone lined up and started singing.
Song "Plant island"
Verse 1:
[Parlsona]
Every monster knows... how plants grow!
And every monster cares!
And they know how they shape and they feed them!
And they keep them alive!
Let's watch plants grow! (2x)
Chorus:
[Parlsona and Tawkerr]
Everything here is alive! (2x)
Verse 2:
[Tawkerr]
They sleep when it gets gold.
And the leaves turn.
They turn red and they turn gold.
They need sunlight and water and earth and the air to keep them alive.
That's how plants grow! (2x)
Chorus:
[Parlsona, Tawkerr and heroes]
Everything here is alive! (2x)
Verses 3:
[Parlsona]
A note becomes a chord,
Becomes a phase,
Becomes... a melody!
[With heroes]
And a melody... becomes... a monster!
Chorus:
[Parlsona, Tawkerr and heroes]
Everything here is alive! (2x)
You plant a seed
It settles is... and then it bursts!
And then it splits, and makes a twin!
Then, there were more.
Look, across the landscape, and you'll find.
It's just a bunch of plants! (Echo)
After the song, the heroes clapped.
Krash:It's not a bad song.
Alina:Well, then. (Took out the map) The next island will be cold.
Entbrat:If anything, there is no need to be afraid. You won't have a function to freeze there.
Christina:Great, then.
Alina:Well, go ahead.
Everyone immediately took their places on the boat and sailed.
To be continued...
