His favorite thing about you was your skin. Soft, unmarred, a sweet expanse for his callused fingertips to explore, to pinch, to squeeze. Smooth like silk beneath his palm, unsullied by no one but him. The lines of indentation left behind from your clothes, like dunes for his fingers to travel between. The way your flesh seemed to mold so perfectly within his none-so-gentle grip, like you were made to be melded with him, for him.

“Ranmaru,” you mewled, halfheartedly pushing away his hands as they found themselves being roughly shoved under your shirt, pads of his fingertips digging into the softness of your belly.

Ranmaru was never one to take to your, or anyone’s, resistance, his unforgiving palms making their way right back up your shirt. You knew better than to reject him, to defy him, to be anything other than compliant and pliable for him. Like putty for him to mold between his hands. Pinned to the couch beneath him, it was as if you were completely and utterly under his control. It was always like that. And you wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Ranmaru nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck, the gentlest of gestures that you could have received from him, but you knew that his intentions were anything but. Goosebumps prickled across your skin as his cool breath ghosted against your sensitive neck. For a brief moment, you imagined him tearing into your throat like a vicious animal. The thought made you shudder, from fear or excitement you were uncertain.

His teeth nipped at the skin just above your carotid; he could faintly feel the quickening thrum of your pulse against his lips. He’d never let it be known, but this made him shudder, too.

His second favorite thing about you was your naivety. Always the one to believe the best in him, make excuses for any and all of his actions, the first one to be waiting for him in the wake of all his cruelty and deceit. Always with that sweet, innocent, pathetic look on your face. So ready to accept him for all that he was, and all that he ever would be.

Members of Doubt were surprised when you made your debut by Ranmaru’s side. Like the rabbit in the clutches of the wolf, except they assumed you the prey so ignorant to your plight that you didn’t even realize the beast that was ready to consume you. Ever obedient, by his side, as if someday your loyalty would pay off. It never would. Everyone knew it. They didn’t realize it, but you knew it too. And yet, it was a dark plunge you were willing to endure for even a moment within Ranmaru’s grasp.

There could be no greater difference in the world than the two of you. And neither you nor Ranmaru would have had it any other way.
