Ranking the Wizards of the Black Circle
1 - Gantlos
HEAR ME OUT OKAY- at first thought he was going to be the typical jerk character but then they also gave some moments like Ogron not listening to him when he’s proven right and saving/helping each wizard. It’s also interesting how he’s not respected by the team like Anagan calling him crazy and Duman dismissing his assumptions of the White Circle being at the loft. Literally the only 2-dimensional wizard when you think about it.
2 - Ogron
An angry and possessive guy trying to play the role of the charismatic leader? Yes sir. His voice carries a lot of the preference and his smugness before being proven wrong is always welcome. Between all the wizards he’s the one most people would remember the name of. He’s always got a mask on I feel, whether it’s a wizard’s pride or tricking the Winx.
3- Duman
In terms of powers, yes this is the best one. But his character doesn’t do much except shit talk and get sick and scream. I also can’t forgive RAI for nerfing him and then killing him off like it’s nothing. I don’t have as much to say but I do like his more sleazy and sinisterly laid back attitude, like how he casually threatens to eat Flora.
4 - Anagan
He’s just a mop with a coat. Lame powers, lame character, the only thing interesting is his banter with Flora and it doesn’t happen often. Design wise he’s also the lamest but because he looks like an overdecorated background character. At least he’s the most competent fighting wise.

A random thought came to my mind. If ranked, which of the Specialists is the best to the worst cook?
This is my opinion, from best to worst:
Brandon, Helia, Riven, Timmy, Sky
Okay, let me explain why I see it this way. And I'll try not to make it too long. ^^"
Brandon
For me, Brandon is the best at cooking. He knows each and every dish in Magix and aces them perfectly. Everybody loves Brandon's cooking, and they are always excited whenever he's in the kitchen.
I've seen a headcanon where Brandon lived in a large family, so I'm going to add that in because I can visualize it a lot. Brandon is probably the second or third eldest, so he's definitely tasked to take care of his siblings.
Being Prince Sky's squire means protecting him from any sorts of dangers, but he wouldn't mind cooking a good meal for the prince. I mean, isn't that what a good squire does for his master?
This man just wants to see people smile with his cooking skills. It makes him happy, too, as they remind him of his beloved family.
Helia
I gotta say, Helia definitely has some skills in cooking, too! As much as they taste very good, Brandon just surpassed him. They'd be in a cooking competition and the squire will still win. It's not like his minds, though. Helia isn't really into home economics in the first place.
Despite that, Helia still has his artistic skills! Therefore he's very good at plating and he is a veteran at making dishes looking appealing. Helia loves to cut the fruits and vegetables into different shapes.
Even if he's second best cook, Helia is still happy to be able to cook. There are times where he and Brandon cooperate. And the outcome? It's incredible and beyond words.
Riven
Riven here is just in the middle. He's a decent cook, and that's enough as long as he can live. Unlike Brandon and Helia, his dishes are rather simple. The two above would cook the fancy and extravagant, but this guy here would prefer easy and quick. But of course, they need to be tasty.
Don't underestimate him, though! Riven here has some knife skills! I headcanon that he's very good with chopping and cutting things, and people will just be watching him with a shocked Pikachu face.
Overall, he's not really considering cooking as a hobby. But whenever there are some good cook books (remember, Riven is a bookworm!), he's definitely reading them and try out the given recipes. So, maybe you'll spot him in the kitchen every now and then.
Timmy
I don't really see Timmy as the kind of person who cooks, honestly. It's a headcanon of mine where he enjoys to-go meals and salads. He doesn't really cook, so Timmy doesn't have the skills either. He's busy with his daily technologies and calculations, so it's somewhat of an excuse for him why he cannot cook.
But like mentioned, Timmy likes salads. He may not be very good at cooking in general, but he does know what is healthy and unhealthy for the body. Whenever Brandon asks what they'd like to eat, Timmy will choose a Ceasar salad and proceed to explain its benefits and vitamins.
It might seem lazy for him to refuse to try cooking, but he still got the brains! If you need some advice for healthier meals, this guy is a great help. He might as well suggest healthy diets, and you'll never regret it.
Sky
... bro, isn't it obvious? He's a prince. Everything is literally served out for him. He probably never walked inside a kitchen in his whole life when he was still in the palace. I doubt he actually knows a thing.
Despite lacking knowledge about cooking, Sky does like to observe. He would chat with one of the Specialists (mostly Brandon) while watching him cook today's breakfast. Sky would definitely be willing to try, however it usually results to the Red Fountain kitchen burning to ashes...
When he actually succeeds cooking without burning the kitchen, the next problem is its appearance. It doesn't really look appealing to the eyes and when tasted, it's... ambiguous. But hey, at least he's trying!

First Episodes of Winx Ranking
I've ranked the Winx finales, I've ranked the Winx seasons and I've ranked the Winx canon ships. This has been long overdue. So without further ado:
8. Season 7
The crux of the episode is Winx being defeated by a bird. Not only do they have the Dragon Fire transformation now (which should be the strongest one by default), but they've also defeated a ton of actually threatening villains by that point. And they still... lose to a bird.
If that wasn't bad enough, Stella is made a complete clown once again, who is selfish, inconsiderate and the burnt of the - at this point dead and turned to ash - gag of her designing terrible outfits before making beautiful ones.
Now I am not the biggest fan of Roxy but I have to say... It is idiotic to leave her behind to watch Kiko when the victim of an attack is a fairy animal and the perpetrator is another animal. Honestly, Roxy using her powers on Kalshara is the biggest missed opportunity regarding her character in this season, which says a lot considering that she was robbed of Butterflix despite doing everything that Winx did to get it.
The only saving grace of this episode is the kangourmet sequence as the sugar-crazed kangourmet is more threatening than the actual villain of the season, and the following moments with Faragonda taking care of it and being amused by Bloom and Stella's silent argument are fluffy and funny.
7. Season 6
This episode singlehandedly destroyed Daphne's character. For that I should banish it not just to the end of the list, but to oblivion. However, I simply cannot put losing to a BIRD (can you tell I'll never recover from this?) over the fight against the Beast of the Depths. At least its design is better and there is some - mind you, just some - sense of suspense there.
It is, of course, tragically undermined by the Winx' search for the Inspiration of Sirenix and the musical number at the end. The idea that Winx would be the Inspiration for a transformation that has existed for centuries is, frankly, laughable. And I would be laughing if the whole point of the episode did not rest upon it.
Daphne, as the Nymph of Sirenix, certainly would not have needed Winx to inspire her. Like I said, her character is completely butchered by the bad writing and the childish prism through which she's viewed. Even her finally taking action by trying to sacrifice herself to save everyone else from the Beast is a complete misinterpretation of her character from the first seasons. Daphne did sacrifice herself for Bloom's safety, and the Dragon Fire's, but she did that because it was the only option left. She went down fighting! Despite the trauma she's been through and her recovery, the only plausible way to write her amidst a new crisis would have been to let her fight tooth and nail.
Still, I can sympathize with her despite the writers' best efforts. Partly because my love for her is indestructible and partly because I can see a lot of potential for crafting a truly awesome arc of recovery and reclamation of her life if she'd been treated like the character that she was in the first seasons. For that I am willing to place this episode higher than the very bottom.
6. Season 4
This episode had the difficult task of continuing a series that should have ended, and expanding beyond Enchantix. Considering all that, I can cut it some slack but that doesn't change the fact that it is extremely poorly constructed (which you can tell by how low I've placed it on the list).
Frankly, the Winx are unlikable during half of the episode. They are shoved into a role that they're unsuited to as teachers. Their course is chaotic; they lack any structure, discipline and professionalism in a way that isn't charming and meant to make the young fairies feel at ease. They are all riding on the fame of being the girls that saved the universe three times, even if the only one that's called out on it is Stella. I fully blame for that the fact that the writers knew that this job would be a one-time thing and didn't bother with making the Winx seem like they're actually putting effort in it and it instantly brings down the whole episode.
Besides that there's the way that all the Winx act towards Alice. Yes, they think that her prank could have killed Flora but the girl looks so upset and desperate to convince them of her innocence and none of them ever consider the possibility that they're in the wrong, especially Tecna, who had an episode (2x09) devoted to exploring her rash decisions. It truly comes off as if they believe they are always right and their methods cannot fail them, which just confirms that fame has gotten to all their heads.
The plot is barely hanging together, too. Believix is introduced for absolutely no relevant reason other than that the writers knew it would be important later. And if that weren't insult enough to Enchantix, then we have the fight scene with the Wizards, who are brought in in a truly mind-boggling way, summoned by... the unveiling of a painting. They toss Winx around as if Enchantix is a joke, which is simply bad form as it undercuts the first three seasons without which this episode would not have existed. It's bad all around.
The only positive I can think of is that the Wizards come off as strong and ruthless but their exit leaves something to be desired. Sure, they have no interest in the WInx anymore but they just attacked Alfea and left like it's no biggie. This could actually be considered another point in favor of how unbothered they are by the mere idea of facing opposition but it doesn't say much about the state of law enforcement in the Magic Dimension.
Oh, hey, I like the Winx deciding to pursue the villains for once instead of merely reacting to being targeted. That and the little moment with Griselda and Clarice towards the end are the best parts of the episode.
5. Season 8
This episode's biggest fault - barring the art style - is that it's pretty lowkey for the most part. That and the fact that Obscurum does not convey a sense of immediate threat in the beginning of the episode. However, that is mitigated by the "monster" that was shown to chase Twinkly and the fact that they are saving the reveal of Valtor's return for later.
Everything before the fight sequence is serviceable. Twinkly's introduction and the involvement of the Specialists are functional. There's nothing wrong with having a somewhat chill opening to the season and the Winx' willingness to help Twinkly is heartwarming. There are cute moments sprinkled throughout the episode and I love the fact that Stella and Tecna get to be more central in the interactions with Twinkly and, therefore, the introduction of the main plot.
The battle is... actually good. I love that Faragonda gets to do something (although we could have used more from the other teachers). And for once they have the excuse that only Stella's powers actually work to explain why no one else gets to do anything (it still doesn't check out fully but it's better than the usual logic of "Winx simply are better than everyone and get to do it all even when characters that should be more competent are around"). I love the way that they make the star yummies actually somewhat threatening by showing that most of Winx' powers don't work against them. The decision to solve the problem through a team-up between Stella and Twinkly was also solid as it makes Twinkly useful and pretty powerful.
Topping it all off with the threat of starlight being stolen until the stars go dark makes this first episode solid enough to place in the middle of my list.
4. Season 5
This episode is surprisingly good where openings are concerned. It starts out pretty chill and immerses us back into the Winx' lives on Earth. I love that it takes the time to show us the Winx and Specialists spending time together. The subplot about the Pendant of Eraklyon was completely unnecessary but I did like the talk between Flora and Sky. Finally a Specialist and a Winx that aren't a couple interacting again!
There is a sense of suspense also introduced with the oil platform, however, and a grandiosity injected into the episode by the coronation. I am not a fan of suddenly inventing a king of the oceans and replacing Tressa as heir to the throne. The attitude towards Tritannus before he's even done anything is also extremely off-putting and could have made him root for him if he'd been better written. That and the way that he ends this episode doesn't really sell him as the big bad of the season but it leaves enough ominous intrigue to promise more action during the rest of the story.
Once the action hits, the story really is at its best. There is suspense. The Winx actually use their powers instead of solving everything with a single convergence (although, in the end they do just that and I hate it but at least it's more minor). The Specialists actually help them out and most of the action is happening in the air and underwater, which is a more rare environment for a Winx action sequence and sets up the rest of the season. And Layla gets an individual moment to shine! All in all pretty good.
3. Season 1
This episode is all-around solid, especially for a pilot episode. Bloom is a little quick to decide to go to Alfea and her parents' reactions are somewhat nonexistent but everything else works well.
We get a sense of Bloom's frustration with her life, of her being drawn to the magical. Her discovery of her powers works well. Knut and the hunting troll are pretty threatening on their own and we are shown that there are puppeteers behind the curtain, promising to escalate the action soon. The boys work without coming off as too competent and save the day. Alfea is introduced.
Honestly, the only minus here is that the other Winx are not introduced yet. I understand that they couldn't have been considering the construction of the plot but the Specialists are introduced before them, which I find somewhat iffy.
2. Season 2
This episode opens on such a strong note. Layla is introduced as a protagonist. She is shown to be determined, brave and very loyal to those she considers friends. Along with that we get to explore Shadowhaunt a little bit and are introduced to Darkar's quest to find the location of the Codex (albeit in a somewhat roundabout way). There is action, there is suspense, there is fear for Layla. Darkar comes off threatening enough even if his obsession with the pixies and inability to break them does him a bit of a disservice.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have the Winx returning to Alfea. There is a sense of new along the sense of returning back to something familiar. We are reintroduced to the girls and given a little information to bridge the gap between this season and the previous one. Bloom stumbling upon the secret archive is random, unnecessary as of yet, and an oversight on Faragonda's part (for not moving it once it becomes clear what Darkar's after) but it does cement the pixies as an intended part of the season instead of just a plot device to introduce the villain's goal and the stakes.
We are reacquainted with the Specialists as well and they get to spend some time with Winx. We witness the group dynamic and the heartfelt bonds between all of them only for Layla's reappearance to act like a gut-punch. It sets up an ominous and foreboding feeling for the rest of the season and elevates the impression that the episode leaves upon the viewer.
1.Season 3
This truly is the best opening episode. It takes the time to focus on Winx who are preparing for summer vacation while at the same time focuses on the Trix' fate. It's an amazing way to build the tension as it leaves you anticipating the trouble that the Trix are going to stir while the Winx have every intention of chilling only to, surely, get interrupted by a new crisis.
However, the episode doesn't rely on that to be the only point keeping the viewer's interest. Instead of meandering through small, directionless interactions, it sets up things for the girls to do. Each of them has her own plans but the announcement of Stella's ball is a very natural way to keep them all together even as it's time for them to separate for summer vacation.
Stella's personal life and emotional state are instantly put in the spotlight in a way that truly focuses on her character rather than only on setup for what's coming. Because of that, the conflict with Chimera has more weight. It seems to be the one cloud on Stella's sunny sky, the thing that's ruining her perfect vacation and her upcoming Princess Ball as well as the restoration of her family.
The episode keeps cutting back to the Trix to focus on the consequences of their actions in the previous season, acquaint us with more of the Magic Dimension (a prison world in particular) and kickstart the plot. These sequences remind us of why the Trix have gotten as far as they have. They are smart and ruthless and still powerful, which sets up Valtor extremely well because he is obviously leagues above them. The team-up between those four is bound to bring headaches to the Winx, which is instantly demonstrated.
By doing nothing more than merely breaking out of prison, Valtor upsets the natural course of the universe and interrupts Winx' plans. Sure, they weather the current problem easily and efficiently enough but not only does it put a hitch in their plans for the afternoon, but completely alters their planned summer vacation by tearing Layla away through trouble on her own planet that is serious enough to warrant her immediate return. And to really drive the point home we are shown how Valtor transforms the Andros mermaids into monsters, takes control of their will and steals their power for himself.
It truly is the first episode that best builds up the threat and stakes that the rest of the season will spend working with. And it does so without Valtor even knowing of any of the Winx' existence yet and vice versa. A magnificent study in starting a season.

In honor of it being winx 19th birthday, how would you rank the seasons?
oooooooooooohhhhhhh that’s a hard one…. I’ll rank up to 6 cause I stopped watching after that
1st- This was honestly going to be a tie between 2 and 3 but in the end 3 won out. It has a more interesting plot and introduces our lovely Enchantix but it’s also a little too Bloom focused and the ending… I never was the biggest fan of the ending if I’m being 100% honest, like… a 5 minute battle after ALL of that? But it did also have some of the best moments and my fave moments like the Crystal Labyrinth, Flora’s Enchantix, the whole Omega/Tecna plotline and more. Also since the entire Club is established at this point we get to explore their dynamic a bit more. Though Musa and Flora blend a bit into the background at times and we rarely get any Specialist moments. But overall, for me it’s the best to me.
Tumblr media
2nd- Season 2. We get Darkar, Aisha’s epic introduction and her arc, little moments for all the girls’ Charmix. HELIA?! HELIA AND FLORA?! AAAAAA!!!! Sorry fangirled there a bit. I feel like we got to see a bit more of the boys this season so I loved that. Darkar is an epic, creepy villain and I feel like the Trix are still good in this season. Also Dark Bloom was lowkey iconic and I loved the pixies this season. For me seasons 2 and 3 are very close in this ranking. The only reason it’s second is because s3 has a bit more memorable moments and of course, Enchantix.
Tumblr media
3rd- This might surprise yall but… season 4. I LOVE season 4. I love the Wizards, their dynamic and personalities, Anagan’s little weird flirting with Flora? Gold. It has a lot of unnecessary drama between the Specialists and the Winx but I can let it slide because of the great ideas. We get the Wizards of the Black Circle, the dynamic with Roxy as we get to see another young girl get her world twisted upside down. Then, we free the Earth fairies and… they want fucking revenge. And that’s awesome. The timeline makes absolutely no fucking sense though. I’ll be honest, this one is mostly here due to nostalgia (this season was my fave for a very long time) and ideas not necessarily execution. But this one will always have a special place in my heart.
Tumblr media
4th- the one that started it all, season 1! The one where we get introduced to almost all of the girls the only season in which Riven actually gets to keep his development, it’s he best season of the Trix and… this one is probably the most coherent one when it comes to plot since the plot had to be simple since we were just being introduced to the characters and world. I love this season so much. The only reason it isn’t higher is mostly cause the others just have so much more going on that this one can fade a bit into the background but I still absolutely adore it. Also, I have a thing with insects so the Army of Darkness still gives me the creeps to this day just… no- ew
Tumblr media
5th- Now on to where I personally feel the decline truly started, season 5. So, they returned the squad to school with no explanation and just… okay? Then all of a sudden Aisha have these cousins that have never been shown before and one of them is evil and has the Trix join him and… okay? And then… it’s just a mess of somewhat good ideas but this is also when they start making the Winx childish like, even more than they were in season 1. And I cannot remember anything about the boys this season, literally just that stupid amnesia plotline like- what?! Can we please just give Bloom and Sky a break? I actually liked the idea of them breaking up to give themselves sometime but no let’s just get fucking- I can’t even. This was just a weird season overall to me. I liked the concept of the oceans and sometimes it was done really well other times not. Also the Trix just… lose their impact
Tumblr media
6th- now… wow… I like some of the concepts here, mainly Selina and the Legendarium but they were executed so fucking horribly. I adore the Bloomix designs like, I might even put them above Enchanitx they are so fucking pretty but the way they get it is just… such bullshit? And then the Legendarium could’ve been a chance to make up myths for other planets but no for some reason they are all from Earth? And then Daphne’s random ass plotline and randomly getting married and just what?! The only thing I liked were the designs, Helia and Flora having a conflict even if it was a bit stupid and Musa losing her voice. That’s literally all I can remember cheering for. And now we have a form unironically called Bloomix… remember when I said season 3 focused a bit too much on Bloom? Yeah… also I fucking hate the fairy godmother I’m not even going to look up her name. Selina had potential but then the Trix at this point are just pitiful. So yeah, this is when I oficially gave up on the series, I didn’t even watch the full final few episodes I just skimmed them.
Tumblr media
And that’s the ranking! Also, Winx is now my same age, I feel fucking old ajjajajaja.

Hey!! I know my question will be basic, but if you had to rate winx ships (Musa&Riven, Flora&Helia, Stella&Brandon, Tecna&Timmy, Aisha&Nabu, Bloom&Sky) in a scale from your favourite to your least favourite, how would it be?? I am just curious haha. By the way, your art is so amazing!!
Hello anon! Oh, no, it's not basic at all, I think I have actually never rated Winx ships before, so maybe it's high time for me to do a personal ranking. And thank you so much for appreciating my art!
Musa and Riven - I mean, it's not a shocker if you've been following me on IG or here on Tumblr. They have always interested me the most, for numerous reasons. I sometimes like to think they are the example of "she fell first, but he fell harder". It wasn't obvious they will become a couple in S1, but already then Riven was given a chance to face his demons which was intriguing to see since he's a secondary character after all, but it showed a side of him which then foretold his development later on in the series. In S2 they have a slow, gradual progression which ends with a dramatic, emotional kiss. In S3 and S4 they do have ups and downs which seem to stand out, and because of that people tend to focus very often on the downs. Unfortunately, the show's writing leaves a lot to be desired, and it did them dirty because I'm of the opinion that Musa should have realized she also needs to work on herself to ease the unnecessary tension in this relationship which more often that not stems from poor communication. Riven does have a substantial character development in S4, and I'd love Musa to grow too and understand that she could become an emotional sanctuary for him. If I were to try to sum up why I am particularly fond of them, it's because of this special depth and potential in their relation: two emotional wrecks with tough childhood and traumas subconsciously feel they would understand each other very well, but instead clash due to communication issues, and yet they crave each other and so should make an effort to understand each other better, in order to create a one of a kind, thriving relation. Of course I do have my headcanons which have an impact on my view of them, and I would write a lot of things differently (I constantly come up with something while rewatching). Anyway, watching a seemingly unadjusted couple becoming well-adjusted to each other over time is simply something that fascinates and satisfies me.
Aisha and Nabu - Another interesting one, and also not so obvious at the beginning. What makes them similar to Musa and Riven is that they also seem to have lonely and sad childhood. Single and happy throughout S2, Aisha was devastated to know she was supposed to end up in an arranged marriage with a guy she doesn't even know. At that time her animosity towards men is even more intense, and her relation with Nabu started... unpromisingly, because Nabu was spying on her. Of course the spying was without malicious intentions, because he wanted to see and learn something more about his future fiancee before approaching her, but that still left a poor first impression, especially because he was exposed in the public. As S3 goes on, Nabu turns out to be a trustworthy wizard who also eventually confesses to Aisha about his fleeing from Andros and reveals his real name, and admits how wrong it was to spy on Aisha. All of that makes her soften and she develops strong feelings for him. In S4 they don't stir unnecessary drama when it's revealed guys went to Earth to provide additional protection for Winx, but they cherish their time together to the fullest. I noticed that this relationship made Aisha go from being in masculine energy (S2/23) to more feminine energy (S4). I dare say that if it hadn't been for Nabu and if she had been single at the beginning of S4, I'm pretty sure she would have also lashed out at guys for "not trusting them that they're fine on their own". Instead, when guys arrive once again to help them, Aisha radiates pure joy and shouts "NABU! I'm so happy to see you again! (...) It's all good now that you're here!", which shows how much in love she's with him, and that she has no problem being dependent or receiving help from a guy anymore. They had quite a lot of screentime in S3 which made me attached to them, and in S4 they're the strongest ray of sunshine among all the couples in my opinion (I won't talk about how this relationship ended ;-;).
Stella and Brandon - Their S4 drama left a scar on my view on their relationship, but apart from that they're really precious and do have potential to be like Morticia and Gomez Addams, who are often referred to as couple goals. They are both flirtatious and deeply in love with each other. Stella doesn't give a fluff about Brandon's lower social status, and she's always happy to see him. In S2 she was dead serious about rescuing Brandon whatever and however long it took, while Sky (Brandon's best friend) didn't seem to be concerned about him at all... In S3 Brandon made her realize he and other people love her for who she is, not for her looks. There are probably more things I want to say about them, but can't remember them now, so let me just say that in my eyes they ooze an aura of lightness and authenticity which I guess is what makes them pleasant to watch.
Tecna and Timmy - Some say that the majority of Timmy's personality is centered around being Tecna's boyfriend, and I kinda agree with it, because again we know little to nothing about Timmy's background. Surely he has a lot of common with Tecna, and that's basically their passion towards IT, computers, logic, and all of that. We fortunately got some insight into how Timmy feels about Tecna when she was gone for a while, and Timmy's tearful confession about Tecna's being his best friend made my heart melt. While watching S4, I noticed Tecna softened a lot since she's with Timmy, and contrary to expectations, they are fine with public display of affection. I don't have a lot more to say about them, but I do think they are interesting: a serious, overly-logical tech geek meets an awkward, shy tech geek, and there we go, a relationship blooms. You could say that common passion brought them together.
Flora and Helia - These two are both very romantic and they match aesthetic-wise, but ngl due to little screentime, they are quite forgettable to me XD at one point I seriously forgot that Helia exists even though he already was Flora's boyfriend. That notwithstanding, I do like their first encounter which highlighted the fact that Flora noticed something about Helia's drawing which other people overlooked. She also gains her Charmix thanks to mustering enough courage to confess her attraction to him. But then again, Helia isn't much more than just Flora's boyfriend when you think about how the show is written, and as any other guy (maybe apart from Sky xD) deserves to have his background and personality explained more.
Bloom and Sky - Well, I think I'm just tired of them. In the series they have a lot of screentime (two first movies are basically centered around these two), but I feel like despite all the spotlight they got little development. I certainly don't like that Sky likes to invent problems and disappear out of the blue, ghosting Bloom and giving her emotional rollercoasters, while she acts naive and too forgiving towards him. I do find them overly sweet to my taste as well. They do have their good sides too, of course, (e.g. Sky does support Bloom a lot when she feels down, provided he's by her side at the moment), but in my eyes there is just too much of them.
And what's your ranking? Comment below!

I fucking adore the fact that it’s canon that wizgiz has not only been teaching at Alfea for over 100 years but he literally hasn’t changed a bit since and that he also taught Griselda and Faragonda

Upcoming Magical Girl Projects
Magical girl fans are finally eating good after years of starvation. So good, in fact, that I decided to make a list of magical girl projects in development.
Tumblr media
The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies - The most imminent of these projects, since it's premiering only in a few days. It's the story of the forbidden romance between the magical girl Byakuya Mimori and Mira, a high-ranking official of an army trying to take over the world.
Tumblr media
Mermaid Magic - In a new western magical girl show from the same studio as Winx Club, Princess Merlinda, with her friends Sasha and Nerissa in tow, ventures to the human world in order to find a way to save her homeland of Mertropia from the ghost pirate Barbarossa and his monster horde. Dropping on Netflix next month.
Tumblr media
Acro Trip - One of several new magical girl series coming out in the Fall 2024 anime season, Acro Trip follows Chizuko Date as her efforts to increase appreciation for her idol, local magical girl Berry Blossom, takes her down a "dark path filled with strange folks."
Tumblr media
Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. - Kana Sakuragi is having a hard time finding work, botching over 15 different job interviews. However, her luck changes when a series of events lands her a job at the magical girl company Magilumiere.
Tumblr media
The Story of the Girl Who Couldn't Become a Wizard - The third of the magical girl anime coming out in October, MahoNare for short tells the story of Kurumi Mirai as she tries to become a wizard anyways after failing to get into her school's magic division.
Tumblr media
Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie - Walpurgisnacht Rising - The fourth PMMM movie, which will pick up where Rebellion's massive cliffhanger left off. It's currently set to come out sometime later this year.
Tumblr media
Cute High Earth Defense Club Eternal Love! - The magical boy series is getting a new movie in winter 2025 as part of the celebrations for its 10th anniversary. While the movie will "consist entirely of new scenes that will be newly drawn," exact plot details are unknown. (Added August 7, 2024)
Tumblr media
Mahou Tsukai Precure: Mirai Days - A new installment in the Precure franchise, Mirai Days will serve as a sequel to Mahou Tsukai, the thirteenth season. Even though it's premiering early next year, specific plot details are currently unknown.
Tumblr media
Princess Session Orchestra - A TV original coming next year, Princess Session Orchestra is based on a concept by Akifumi Kaneko, one of Symphogear's co-creators. The land of Alicepia's peace is destroyed when monsters called Jammerwocks attack, prompting a trio of young girls to step up the plate to protect the realm.
Tumblr media
Winx Club - The western magical girl classic is getting a CGI reboot. While comments by Iginio Straffi imply that certain characters who were introduced later in the original series (such as Roxy and Nabu) will appear earlier, no specific plot details have been revealed so far. The series is coming to Netflix late next year.
Tumblr media
New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt - Panty & Stocking is getting a second season after over a decade that's coming out sometime next year with no specific plot details revealed yet. (Added August 7, 2024)
Tumblr media
Project Symphogear Next - A new Symphogear movie was announced late last year. However, no further details have been revealed.
Tumblr media
Hua Xianzi: Zhi Mofa Xiang Dui Lun - A co-production between Tencent Video and Toei Animation's Shanghai branch, this anime is being billed as a "remake" of Lunlun the Flower Fairy. That being said, promises of "a fresh story and characters" make it sound more like a reboot.
Tumblr media
Studio Pierrot's new anime - Studio Pierrot, which has made a variety of magical girl anime from Creamy Mami to Tokyo Mew Mew, has announced that they're creating a new TV original magical girl anime. No specific details have been disclosed, but the caption for the teaser image ("I want you to sing once more...") implies that it'll be a magical idol anime.
Tumblr media
Lolirock season three - After Lolirock's second season ended with a cliffhanger all the way back in 2017, it seemed like the story would never get a proper conclusion. However, the series's creator and director, Jean-Louis Vandestoc, announced on his Instagram in 2023 that creative meetings for a third season have begun.
Tumblr media
Magic Knight Rayearth revival - TMS Entertainment is making a new Magic Knight Rayearth anime in honor of the franchise's 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, it's currently unknown what the format will be.
Tumblr media
Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card season two - The sequel to the magical girl classic is getting a second season that will adapt the rest of the manga.
Tumblr media
Magical Girl holoWitches - A multimedia project starring six VTubers as fictionalized versions of themselves who work as both streamers and magical girls who save people when they get trapped in the magical Holocas World. There was a four minute extended trailer in May, but the anime's proper premiere date is unknown.
Tumblr media
Ojamajo Doremi 16-20's - An adaptation of Ojamajo Doremi's light novel sequel series, which follows the girls as they grow from being in their mid-teens to early 20s. Interestingly, the format for the adaptation (TV show, movie, or streaming series) will be based on the reception of a music video featuring the girls as adults.

Hello, I don't know if you've watched Winx Club, but I would like to make a request for Leona, Jamil, Malleus, and Sebek with a reader who is a fairy (the transformation you think is best) if you haven't watched it, I would like to request these characters with a reader who is a fairy similar to Tinker Bell, but she can change her size, so she has her fairy form and a normal size
Having An S/O Twisted From Tinkerbell
Type of Writing: Request Characters: Leona Kingscholar, Jamil Viper, Malleus Draconia, and Sebek Zigvolt Name: Having An S/O Twisted From Tinkerbell Requester: @marinahavik
A/N: I haven’t seen Winx Club, so I’ll go with the second option on this request. So it’s the reader being mainly themed after the actual original book-style Tinkerbell. By the way, these are fairly shorter than my other pieces.. just saying!

🦁 Leona was very caught off when he felt a small patter on his chest when he awoke the morning after your visit, he normally felt you shifting to get up before you smacked his chest
🦁 Opening his eyes and looking up at you, he saw that you had shrunk down to the size of those fairies in the garden
" Woah there, what in the name of hell happened to you? " " *Jingling Sounds* "
🦁 He understood that fairies were fairly powerful beings, but this was something he hadn't seen
🦁 While sure you could say that transforming was something he should be used to, since he came from a land surrounded by beastman who loved becoming their beast-forms to relax or travel
🦁 But, seeing someone just shrink without becoming an animal was fairly new...
🦁 Though, he had to admit, it was something he found to be quite enjoyable. He could literally pick you up and put you in his pocket now
" Well, I guess I can officially call you short without you getting mad now, right? " *Raising their middle finger* " Love ya' too, short-stuff. "

🐍 Rarely did Jamil ever get time off from his seemingly never-ending job of caring for Kalim, but whenever he did, he would try resting with you beside him
🐍 With your large wings, you would leave them to rest on top of your resting lover as he allowed you to play with his hair, experimenting on styles
🐍 But, when he felt that you had stopped touching him with the feeling of a massage, he cracked a tired eye open
🐍 Looking around from his position, Jamil sat up and felt a small tug on his hood, and when he pulled his up and saw a tiny you fall down and make a jingling sound, he chuckled
" I knew you fairies had cool abilities, but this is actually kind funny and cute instead of scary. "
🐍 You furrowed your eyebrows his frustration and embarrassment as your boyfriend began to pat your head
🐍 Folding your wings over your flushed face, Jamil fully laughed at you before asking you to transform back and mess with his hair even more
🐍 Oh, how can you say no to someone you hold so dearly?

🐉 You and Malleus have known one another since your childhoods, since you were the child of a high-ranking fae in society
🐉 So, as you grew, your magical abilities had advanced alongside one another's. That meaning whenever you transformed smaller, Malleus was just smile and carry you around
🐉 This time, you had been running away from a beastman, whom you angered by throwing a piece of machinery at their head
🐉 For what reason? Not sure, you just heard a malicious sounding voice say your lover's name and threw the nearest item
" My dearest? Are you alright? Why are you- " " Where is that little wretch? They threw a piece of metal at my skull! "
🐉 Looking up as you fluttered behind his horns and held on for dear life in your small and more fairy-like form, Malleus slightly glared at the leopard and bear
" I recommend you apologize for such an unworthy compliment. " " Excuse- me... "
🐉 Cocking an eyebrow as the duo apologized and ran off in fear, you sighed with a very low jingle
🐉 Malleus chuckled and held you in his hand as you rubbed your neck nervously awaiting his dozens of questions about why you threw something at someone's head
🐉 Oh, how entertaining could you get?

⚡ Sebek and you have always had a complicated bond, from you meeting him by shrinking and hiding inside his bag of training equipment when you were younger being the main cause of that
⚡ But, when you began to visit and watch him train with your god-father, Lilia Vanrouge, you and him bonded more as the years passed
⚡ You two had even began to court one another when you both began to attend Night Raven College that year
" My, my, Sebek, where is my little god-child? I am in need of their small-size for assistance. " " I apologize, Lilia, but I have not seen them anywhere. "
⚡ Cue you flying into the room with Floyd on your tail holding a fly-swatter and laughing as you shrunk and flew underneath your boyfriend's hat
⚡ Lilia and Sebek starred at the merman as he groaned and whined as his twin, Jade, and their childhood friend, Azul, dragged him back to Mostro Lounge after apologizing for his actions
⚡ Sebek then lifted his hat and allowed you to fly down and enlargen back to your normal form
" What in the name of Twisted Wonderland did you do, Y/N?! " " I accidentally shrunk in fear when I heard the cackle of that eel and then he started chasing me with a swatter, claiming I was a fly. Can you believe that?! A fly! " " Well- you are small like one... " " I will knee you in the balls, Sebek. "

Fairy Prince - Hearts of Leviathans - Ch.34
Character: Sky x male reader, Riven x male reader, Brandon x male reader
Universe: Somewhere in Winx Club/Saga
Warnings: Non-consensual advances
Tumblr media
(Please welcome our beloved, golden retriever-like, loyal, maybe a little possessive guy, Brandon…I mean…Sky.)
When we finally get to the house, I ask the soldiers to let us down again. Although my new friend's knees were still pretty wobbly, she could stand mostly independently with some help.
“I give you permission to leave!” The two soldiers salute once more before disappearing into the ground and returning to where they belong.
“They were good men, weren’t they?”
I couldn't help but sigh heavily. "According to legend, they were the best in every sense of the word," I tell her, unable to hide the sadness in my voice. "Apparently, there was once a ritual where the best soldiers of each generation were sent to join the ranks of the legendary hidden military unit of the Deep Rock Legion in case we needed an army of incorruptible and fiercely loyal soldiers. But in the long run, it ruined our population. Of the ten million we had left after the orbital crash, there are now just over seven million left, and my grandfather isn't helping."
"Your grandfather? But that would mean-"
I quickly realize my mistake. Until now, everyone thought I was trying to boast about myself by calling myself a prince. But now that I've talked too much and I'm desperate to make new friends, I know I can't lie to her anymore.
“I am the crown prince of Gyonos and, therefore, its guardian fairy, the last fairy in my world after my grandfather.”
She gasped when I shared my revelation with her, and before I knew it, she had come over to me and pressed her slightly plump body against me in a way I hadn't experienced often in my life: a hug so warm that a few tears rolled from the corners of my eyes.
For the first time in ages, I feel like I can let myself be seen crying in front of someone, and maybe it's selfish, but I take full advantage of it. I cry into her head, as she is tiny compared to me. To my surprise, she doesn't walk away but stands there and speaks in a warm, comforting voice, telling me that everything will be okay in the end and how much I want to believe her words, but I know better. I have seen the truth behind people's attentions, fallen victim to the betrayal of those closest to me, and experienced death many times. I didn't cry when he died, not after I had to let him leave my arms when our posts were overrun by those monsters. I will never be able to forgive the Scallierds or forget what they did and what they forced me to do.
I hold her for what feels like an eternity. But when I finally let go of her, she looks straight into my watery eyes. Her blue-green eyes shimmer with what I can only describe as a motherly concern, a desire to be there for me emotionally, and I couldn't be more grateful.
“You should go inside, it’s late and cold,” I tell her quietly.
She smiles kindly. "You should, too. After all, you're probably just as exhausted as I am." Her voice is warm, really like a mother's.
"Sure, but I would like a few minutes to myself before I return to my personal dark world or, more commonly known, my dorm room.“
She nods understandingly, wishes me goodnight, and goes inside, leaving me under the star-studded night sky. I wait until she's gone before turning around and looking across the large, empty field into the forest beyond. I take a deep breath, raise my right hand, and see it shaking. My magical reserves feel depleted; the healing processes and summoning of those soldiers were too much for my fairy core. I need to train; I can't even fight a specialist like this without being knocked to the ground in seconds.
I feel frustration building up inside me. How could it be otherwise? I've gone from being a prodigy in magic and weapon combat to this pathetic excuse of a fairy. I would be unstoppable if only I could access the abilities contained in the crystallized cores of my ring. But how? I hold out my hand holding the ring and marvel at it. Somehow, it only looks normal now that the two cores are in it, surrounding my family's crest in its center. Many have an initial letter, but my family decided to fill it in with our entire crest, as detailed as possible in this small form, with the only exception being that the two sword-shaft-like pieces of metal always hung off the sides. I always thought that happened over the eons the ring was used, but now that the two cores are safely clammed underneath them, I realize there should be something in them. But what? If it's for magic cores, then why aren't there three? What does my family or planet have two of?
I ponder these questions for a while, only coming back to myself when a cold breeze sends a shiver through my body. This is the best time to go back inside. As soon as I step into the building, a fleeting sigh of relief comes over me.
With my eyes closed, I enjoy the warmth heating my cold bones. But when I open them again just a minute or so later, confusion fills me. I try to reach out to protect myself, but before I can, I'm pulled off my feet, my rear end grabbed, and my front pressed against a warm, muscular body. Before I know it, my legs are wrapped around that person's waist, and we are no longer in the foyer. He carries me around until he finally forces open a door and mindlessly slams my back against a metal shelf and then my head against some boxes. A groan of pain escapes my lips as the metal stabs into my back.
But before I could react, soft lips were on mine. Shock floods through my entire being as the moment has taken me completely by surprise. My eyes widen, forcing me to stare at him. There, pressing me against the shelves and trying to push his tongue into my mouth, is Sky. I couldn't believe it. He was always so gentle and kind, but now he's carrying me around and kissing me without my consent. I try to push him away, but he feels like an immovable object, heavier than a mountain. I even punch at his rock-hard pecs as I feel myself slowly falling into him. And before I know it, our lips move in perfect harmony; my mouth even opens slightly as he grips my ass a little tighter. His tongue swallows my moan. My hands land on his back. But suddenly, I can feel him smirking against my lips, making me wonder if this is what he wanted.
My hands quickly move from his chest, where I have only shown him aggression, to his neck and pull him closer to me. What is that feeling—this warmth deep in my stomach? Or this tingling further south?
Even though hundreds of these thoughts of the strangest feelings are racing through my head, I can't let go of him. His woody smell, mixed with the sweetness of something in his mouth, intoxicates my senses. I feel the desire rising for him to continue and take what he wants.
This time, not even the thought of him and his senseless death could spoil my mood, as I feel safe and even desired in Sky's arms.
"I fucking knew it." I hear him suddenly grumble. When I open my eyes from the daze, I see Sky's blurry image, his pale face flushed and his expression serious, if not angry. When I try to say something, he pushes me roughly against the shelf, his legs pushing up. "You've wanted me since you first saw me."
I can only stare at him in confusion, but he is already kissing my neck, biting me gently, and whispering things in my ear that were dirtier than anything I'd ever heard before. Something was clearly wrong.
I hold his face in my hands and try to get him to look at me, but when he finally does, his expression turns angry. Before I know it, his hand is around my neck, his grip is tight, and he is choking me painfully.
"But then I saw you with the girl and these two huge men. I couldn't believe it! Before I could make a move, you had already gone out and found yourself some toys."
When he calls my stone soldiers "toys," my heart starts to burn. How dare he call honorable men that? He has obviously misunderstood something, but when I open my mouth to clarify, his grip on my neck tightens even further, so much so that I can hardly breathe. He seems to have lost his mind, but what can I do?
"Sky!" I barely manage to say, but he's not listening. Instead, he talks about me, telling me what a selfish wanker I am for allowing both Riven and Sky to touch me and defile my body for him.
I can't believe the Gaul of him thinking I would stay pure for him, and then suddenly, something bursts out of him that he probably didn't want to say. He shouts out what I already suspected, namely that he and Sky have switched identities.
The fact that he lied to me for so long hits me the hardest. I thought I could trust him; after all, he always came to my cell when I was a prisoner, cleaned me, and fed me one by one to torture me like the wild animals they are, but that was obviously just wishful thinking. It makes me angrier than I probably should have been, so I turn the tables. Finally, I grab him by the neck and hope he lets go, but he starts grinning in a sinister way. It sent cold sweats down my spine to see something so vicious on the face of a man who always seemed like a puppy.
"I fucking dare you," he said through pursed lips, staring madly into my eyes, "Squeeze harder, I dare you!"
I've never felt so intimidated before. Is there something wrong with him? Suddenly, his grip on my neck tightens enough to easily snap it; no doubt there will be many bruises afterward. I have to make a decision. If he keeps this up, I will surely die.
"Brandon!" I yell, making him stop. Confusion is clear on his face, his eyes glowing with dawning realization. His hand quickly withdraws. As I gasp for air, he holds me upright, one of his hands behind my head and the other trying to protect as much of my spine as possible. He begins to apologize endlessly, like a child found with his hand in the cookie jar.
I try to breathe, but my throat burns painfully. Yet, I push against his chest again; this time, he lets me down but still holds my body upright for a minute. My body is at its limit from the rapid healing before, and the now compromised state is just too much. Thankfully, it only takes a short time before the rest of the healing magic still coursing through me at least helps to ease the swelling in my throat, just enough to let me breathe evenly.
I want to lecture him, scream at him, and let all my feelings out, but his glassy eyes tell me he's not there. Hopefully, it's just the clearly smuggled alcohol and not something more serious.
I try to get past him, but he quickly tries to hold me back. He mumbles something about me catching my breath, giving me hope that even in this situation and condition, he's still trying to help me. But it feels wrong because none of this was consensual, as if he's trying to clear his conscience of what he did to me here in this... in this supply closet.
Somehow, the place we ended up in while making out makes me feel even worse. Am I just a toy to him? Did I misjudge his personality? Is he really a player who breaks people's hearts? I feel so stupid, so silly. Why did I let this happen? I could have prevented everything, but I didn't. Why?
"Please, I- I was just so overwhelmed-"
Before he can spit out his lies, all I see is red, and anger shoots through my veins, just like it did on the battlefield. Can I control it this time? My anger had always been uncontrollable, like I was an explosion just waiting to go off. But this time, in this small room, surrounded by Brandon's intoxicating scent, it doesn't seem to be able to happen, even though my anger threatens to boil over. The overall emotions just weren't there. It was almost as if the last explosion had balanced me unknowingly out.
But that couldn't be. How could the death of my true love be the catalyst for my anger to subside?

Ranking for the seasons of Winx?
I can't believe I haven't done this already. Okay, but I'm keeping it short:
8. Season 6 - too much wasted potential
7. Season 7 - doesn't waste potential only because there's hardly any in the entire season, most childish, annoying and has time travel
6. Season 8 - first three episodes are good, last three episodes are godawful and between all that it's just mediocre
5. Season 5 - tries to have some structure but only becomes predictable and boring, fails to do justice to the characters and emotional moments (some of the time, not always)
4. Season 4 - Lots of potential, bad execution, but still manages to have intriguing concepts and pull off some things
3. Season 3 - too much structural incoherence as it progresses and Valtor loses his effectiveness as a villain, the finale is underwhelming, still has extremely emotional moments, interesting arcs and creative worldbuilding (Black Willow, my beloved!)
2. Season 1 - has the best structure of all the seasons but doesn't focus much on the other girls besides Bloom, does a good job of establishing the world but without exploring too much of it, has the Trix in all their glory, epic finale
1. Season 2 - best character work of all the seasons, interesting episodic conflicts while managing to carry the overall storyline well enough, the Trix still work as villains (more or less), the Hallowinx episode, convergence, more worldbuilding and exploration of other realms and last but not least - has Layla (unlike s1)!
