14 - Do you own any merch?

A few things but not as much as I'd like ^^ Generic fandom t-shirts, a Red Ribbon themed deck of playing cards (featuring 17 & 18 my beloveds <3), a Dragon Ball trivia board game, and some Dragon Ball pogs from my childhood in the 90s >.>;

15 - Do you have any favorite ships (canon or otherwise)?

I think Krillin/18 has pretty much taken over my life at this point xD

I love a lot of them though! Gohan/Videl for something super cute, Caulifla/Kale for a good supportive lesbian romance, Yamcha/Bulma for old times sake, Vegeta/Bulma for the chaos, Yamcha/Bulma/Vegeta because why not, Broly/Cheelai, 17/Suno... and I'm gonna be really random here and say that ever since people have been asking me about who I think the kids would date when they're older, I've kinda been feeling Marron/Uub? (is that even a thing?? xD)

16 - Which anime opening is your favorite?

Head-Cha-La has to be the most iconic (and such a great song!) but I feel like my personal favourite is actually the first DBS one; I love all the cute little clips of the characters at home doing slice-of-life-y stuff, because that's always my favourite part of the series <3

20 - If you could hang out with one character, who would it be?

Okay... so I have a LOT of favourite characters... and I don't feel like any of them would be fun to hang out with or want to be around me; Dragon Ball is full of so many assholes! But we love them anyway c':

As far as characters that I think I could actually spend any amount of time with... I think it comes down to Krillin and/or Yamcha; they would be the least rude / most accommodating about my physical disabilities, and! They're actually super fun and friendly guys! Either that or I could happily go bird-watching with 16, I love birds too <3

How were you introduced to roleplaying as a whole? Okay this is always a really funny story because when I was around 15 or so I was really getting into Puyo Puyo, both because funny puzzle game but the characters were actually really cool! Then like one of my random friends from that community had the idea for RP/worldbuilding and the rest is history I guess?? I don't do Puyo RP anymore but it was a nice start. c:

How were you introduced to TOA? After my indie experience went down the drain I stayed in contact with most of my close Tumblr FE RP friends and that included gamer N. He told me about TOA a while back before, but I only considered joining really after I started getting used to college life.

Do you have any pets? No, my only pet were like carnival goldfish that....yeah :(

What is your favorite time of year and why? (Season, holiday, general period) Start of spring because while I like the colder seasons I feel sick AGAIN so I think the spring period is just my safest one.

What is your IRL occupation? University student until I learn what the hell I want to do with my life.

What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? Smash Bros, Splatoon, The World Ends With You, Touhou Project, Trails/Kiseki, Celeste, a lot more Nintendo, honestly insert a lot of roguelikes here

Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: I'm such a fake pokemon fan I stopped playing after Gen 6 but the Steel type is cool and Empoleon my beloved.

1) I have moderated a Touhou gacha server. Am I proud of it? No. 2) I can do a T-spin. I think that's pretty cool 3) I can beat Punch-Out on the Wii in a single session. It's probably easy to do but I love that game okay.

How did you get into Fire Emblem? Brother showed me FE7 on a totally legal GBA and I was like "wow cool!" Also Smash.

What Fire Emblem games have you played? It's on my mun page but I've played every (remade) FE game outside of FE5 (which I'm currently completing), 3 Hopes, and TMS. Quit FEH after like year 2.

First & Favorite Fire Emblem games: First would be both FE7 and Awakening, favorites are FE15, FE9, and (until I lose the adrenaline) FE4.

List your 5 favorite Fire Emblem characters across the series! Okay 5 is a large ask when you say favorites but uhhhhh Mae, Ike, Anna, Flora, Shamir. They can fight over the top 5 spots like a battle royale.

Who was the first character ever to make you go “ooh I like this one in particular” and why? Can be any context and reason! Going off FE7 being my first I'd probably call out Marcus because haha strong earlygame prepromote go zoom. Fortunately that almost works depending on the FE game.

I think I've strayed from women that outright have traumatic moments define them, but it definitely is a sore spot in their lives. Unless you're Yuzu. You'd win.

Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? So this used to be like any single noble muse due to the inevitable struggle of writing around politics but I think Citrinne has been doing well sooooo let's just go with what the people want. Neku the male does not think he can write other men.

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) I still don't feel like I gravitate toward any real scenario but nowadays I have gotten less scared of dialogue to the point where I enjoy moments that allow muses to just talk to one another and bounce off each other.

Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? Nothing sticks to my mind right now for Citrinne; for Yuzu I need her mind to implode from Fates' route shenanigans; for Lene I need her to meet her mother :)

Favorite TOA-related memories? At this point it'd be Ball 2024 and Happyland since those are my most recent event memories. The mini-event I did with Sonya was very precious too.

OKAY LETS FUCKING DO THIS!

i don't know why i expected the quell to be ten thousand chapters seeing how every chapter in this fic has been contained to one plot point leading into the next one (which isn't a critique don't take this the wrong way!!! you have amazing flow and i wouldn't have it any other way) but ive been dreading this chapter for SO LONG to see what happens that reading the end and realizing that it's over.... knocked ten thousand mountains off my shoulders.

SO MY FIRST QUESTION(s)! was it always supposed to be one chapter? i'm mainly wondering because you said that the fic was supposed to start at this point (LOL CAN YOU IMAGINE) so was it supposed to be a multichaptered event or not. if not, that makes me TERRIFIED for the rebellion part because my GODDDDDD that means you started this entire fic around the war and that's TERRIFYING!!!

anyways, with the quarter quell over, all of our babies safe (???) (definitely... not sound), did you have any differing plans for how it was going to go or was it always supposed to be like this from the start. because the second clove and marvel decided that he would be the one to kill wiress.... i almost died right there out of fear. i had to reread that whole paragraph like ten times to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me and that marvel survived and didn't actually get picked up by the claw machine of death and being sent home with the panem flag draped on his coffin, an arrow in his heart. #LETMARVELBEGOOFY if i were clove i would've laughed at that 5 o'clock joke!!!

SPEAKING OF CLOVE!!!! THE CATHARSIS SHE GOT IN THIS CHAPTER!!! truly an icon of the revenge industry. what do you think the capitols reaction to her just going apeshit on her mother's killer was? what about district 8? his children's? waiting for the horror halloween special spin-off where in 15 years his kids bust into her peaceful home and just go apeshit on HER! that is, well, if she survives not being picked up by the claw machine of rebellion.

i cannot believe that you went with glimmer and cato for the rebellion group... literally the most random pairing with only one thing in common other than being hot & blond. that dynamic is going to be VERY interesting to explore seeing how glimmer is everything and cato is just ken. cato... with the rebellious emotional capacity of a spoon... now being the face of the revolution. that's going to be HILARIOUS!

the aforementioned one thing? how they're the only ones in the group with the most to lose. im blanking on marvels past so forgive me if he has like 8 small siblings that are counting on his victors earnings to not starve and my entire point here just dies, but clove only has cato and enobaria who can fend well enough for themselves. meanwhile glim glam not only has the capitol putting her boyfriend in the un-goofy-inator but her beloved twin victor siblings! the great cashmere and gloss!! are on the line while cato has his darling sister in the line of fire (drawing parallels between him & katniss and prim... now there's a possible trauma bond bestie moment between them!)

i hope i didn't miss any of the points i wanted to make in this ask so if you want to unleash some trivia, some unreleased lore about the background of this chapter and the thought process behind some of your decisions here's a place to say them!!!!

Oh my love I get sooo excited waiting for one of your comments. I know it's going to be good and I can rely on you coming in clutch with the analysis commentary etc of my dreams. My muse, thats you tumblr user @lwveless.

I understand expecting the quell to be much longer. I think it probably should have been, but if I am honest i DREADED this chapter. It was so intimidating, so big, and I was absolutely convinced I was going to fuck it up so significantly. it was the big one and I needed to perfect it. That being said..i never planned it to be longer. Everything that happened in this giant chapter is what always was meant to happen. So..yes. That does in fact mean this fic was entirely created around the idea of the war, and the way the careers, namely Cato and Clove, would fit in. Thats why the title is from The Great War. Thats where this whole fic was supposed to take off from. This whole thing came out of the idea of the war and how Cato/Clove being split in the Katniss/Peeta way would sort of play out. That is the great war really, them trying to get back together. I suppose you could stay the bulk of the fic starts here and now.

I'm putting the rest under a cut for spoilers and length but

So.. yes and no. All the events of the chapter were always 100% planned this way and intentionally SAVE For Marvel killing Wiress, as I literally just couldnt decide who to give the honor to. I gave it to my goofy little king. Other than that..this quell went exactly as planned until the end.

In the ORIGINAL iteration of this fic, Marvel and Glimmer did NOT Have as big of a role. They were taken by the capitol a la Enobaria and let go. I ran into a few issues. How to separate the three oof them from Cato, being one. How to get Cato away from Clove being the other. And lastly, I made Glimmer run her mouth. You may have seen me make many posts about Glimmer being a bigger role than planned and this is what i meant. She ran her mouth about the horrors she faced and there was NO WAY she was getting set free in the capitol. Infact, she wasnt going to survive their hands. I had no choice, I wrote myself into a corner, and thus the split of Marvel and Glimmer came, bringing bestie glim glam into a bigger role.

Also yes marvel is FUNNY, LAUGH at him Clove. Dammit.

Speaking of Clovey YES the girly got her catharsis. I think the capitol is probably losing their fucking MINDS over it. It has to be a big hit. We never know if he had children, or how old they are, because Clove never learns. But here is what I can be sure about: we know what happens to District 8 canonically. Lets leave that at that wink wink (they get wiped out). This was Clove's moment to shine.

Also yes. Bold of you to assume Clove survives this war to have a house 15 years later. Or that there is anywhere she could possibly live.

LMAO TO CATO AND GLIM GLAM.

Listen. As I mentioned, the plot was ALWAYS Clove and Cato split in 13/the capitol. Always. Once Glimmer and Marvel moved in I had a predicament. Glimmer would have faced horrific abuse in the Capitol, and wouldnt have survived. But also, thats SUCH a silly damsel in distress trope if it had been Clove and glimmer in the capitol. We are not doing that here no siree!! And it was ALWAYS Clove in the Capitol and Cato in 13 that was set in stone when I set out to write it. So alas. Glimmer with Cato was born.

yes. They are Blonde. They are hot. But you hit the nail on the head. They have something to lose, but not only that, they both are similar in that they love deeply and with insane devotion. They have siblings back home they love. They have someone they love more than anyone else in the world out of reach. And they are crazy and unhinged to get back to those people. Glimmer and Cato are going to turn out more similar than people realize. That was sort of the whole deal of chapter 12, to ground us back in the fact that we have fallen in love with who these people are behind the scenes, who they are beyond careers, but they are still the blood thirsty trained careers we all know and love.

Spoiler alert? Maybe?? Katniss does make it to 13 too, she was the goal and glim glam and cato happened to be close enough to nab. NO worries, Cato is not the face of this rebellion. WE ALL Know thats not his vibe, he's busy storming around committing homicide to get back to his knife wife clove.

You also uncovered a mystery mous-ka-tool with that Prim comparison, keep that in your back pocket for later use :)

Trivia!!!!! Okay.

There is a cut scene I didnt end up finishing/including where Glimmer talks about all the modifications they wanted to make to her body at 15/16, i'm talking plastic surgery.

The bit about Enobaria wanting to choke them originally had a flashback planned to when she caught them as teenagers.

There was originally more marvel and glimmer that was supposed to happen but i am unsure how the readers felt about them so I left it out but like..they also had way more moments in my intended brain, but i had to remember this is a clato fic for the clato stans.

In the very first inception of this fic things were hugely different namely for clove and cato and what was at stake but also marvel was going to die in the war but now he is alive and thriving so. yay marbles.

Synopsis: you and the boys getting your nails done

Characters: Diluc, Kaeya, Childe (gn!reader)

A/N: ok so I’m just gonna say upfront that none of these are gonna be just flat out “they would never get their nails done” cause that’d be boring but I’m gonna include an ✨in-character reason✨ as to why I think they wouldn’t mind getting their nails painted

also, this is my first original post i guess! It’s nice to meet you all! ive been thinking about writing on and off for a while now but I didn’t know where to start. I kinda wrote this on a whim after getting my nails done. send in any requests or ideas so I can get my acc rolling :D

I was going to do Venti and Xiao too but I got bored so I’ll add them in a separate post if people want

Diluc

Ok so first and foremost is my beloved

If you enjoy getting your nails done he absolutely doesn’t mind taking you every few weeks or so.

Just because he isn’t exactly one to indulge himself in luxury doesn’t mean he feels like his lover shouldn’t either!

If it’s what you want then he’ll more than happily oblige

shameless self indulgence.. i just want to be spoiled by diluc

on some occasions when he’s able to make it to the salon with you, he’ll also get a manicure

some people might say “diluc would never get a manicure because he doesn’t care about his appearance!”

but i think it’s more like this: he gets manicures because he doesn’t care what other people think about his appearance

he cares more about comfort and practicality than fashion or looks

getting someone else to keep his nails trimmed and clean is more practical than trying to keep up with them himself

and damn is that massage chair comfortable

(whatever you do don’t imagine diluc laid back enjoying his massage chair with his eyes closed as he’s getting his nails filed.. the sigh of relief that would leave this man after weeks of stress have built up and he’s finally able to just relax with his s/o)

and it’s an excuse to spend time with you outside of his busy schedule

probably doesn’t ever get color.. i think he’ll stick to clear polish

maybe if you beg him enough he might get one or two of his nails painted to match whatever you get

but only if he likes whatever color you picked out

i feel like he’s not necessarily ashamed of having them painted or anything

because again, diluc really could not care less what other people think of him

it’s just not practical to have like hot pink nails or something. makes it hard to blend in to the darkness, as is necessary to attend to his nighttime duties

now that I’ve made it a point to say Diluc doesn’t care what people think:

he’d absolutely die if he ever ran into Kaeya or Jean or anyone he knew there

would def try to cover it up with indifference though

“(Y/N) and I come here often to keep our nails from getting damaged. There’s nothing strange about that.”

that won’t stop him from coming back again with you in a few weeks though

ok so Kaeya def gets his nails done on the regular. he probably has a schedule

like he’s going every 4 weeks on the dot with or without you

hates when his nails get long and start chipping or breaking

which is why he’s so uptight about his nail maintenance

so if you wanna go with him you better clear your schedule for whatever time and day he chooses cause he’s not taking any rain checks

also just gets clear polish most of the time

with that being said, I don’t think he’s above trying a new color every so often

the occasional blue, black, other neutrals or maybe even a silver if he’s feeling extra adventurous

keeps his nails short like Diluc, doesn’t get acrylics or anything super fancy

partially because long nails get in the way of his work

also i hc he used to bite his nails as a nervous habit when he was younger totally not projecting

(which is why he’s so serious about his nail salon schedule, having long/broken nails really makes the urge to bite them come back)

def knows his nail techs well. they all adore him

has his one “go to” nail tech who he gossips with

knows like all their life stories too? he’ll tell you afterward like “oh your nail tech is the one whose husband tried to leave her for another girl. she was telling me about how his mom called her and snitched on him-“

kaeya where do you find the brain capacity to store all this random trivia about people’s personal lives

Childe

loves going to the salon with you

he gets matching nail polish colors he’s not ashamed

for the same reason that he’d keep the polish on whenever Tonia or Teucer wanted to paint his nails

his adoration for you outshines whatever embarrassment he might’ve felt otherwise

if people ask him about his nails he’ll excitedly tell them about how he went to the salon with his s/o

and an excuse to tell anyone about his amazing s/o is a win in his book

also, loves the little reminder of you when he can’t be with you

he’s just out taking care of his own business and he catches sight of his nails and thinks of you <3

always pays for both of you of course. i’d expect nothing less from the ginger

it doesn’t matter if you get every service offered and the total ends up being crazy expensive

don’t even worry about it he’s already got his wallet ready 😌

the people at the salon love him because he gives like 40% tips

gets designs sometimes.. just little things he thinks are cool.

imagine him getting a little whale on his ring finger or smth

also probably got googly eyes or something once because he thought it was funny

“Mr. Zhongli, watch!” (shakes his hands so the eyes go all over the place)

most of the time he just sticks to basic colors because adding extra things gets old fast, and makes his gloves uncomfy

his fav colors to get are red and white

red because it reminds him of blood

and white because it reminds him of the snow in Snezhnaya :D

def takes you to fancy salons where they offer you wine and give you massages complimentary with your manicure

gets really upset when his nails chip. godspeed to the poor treasure hoarder he was sparring with who just accidentally knocked Childe’s hand in the wrong way

comes home and is immediately like “(Y/N) we need to make another appointment to get our nails redone! mine got messed up at work :( ”

ignore the blood on his shirt that is totally not related to his nails being chipped

Zen is the one everyone dotes on, he's the glue that holds the polycule together, he's the peacemaker, he's the observer. he's going to watch and wait and will probably tell you what he thinks if you ask him, but it's going to be the truth, lol. he will wait to be invited to join basically anything and would prefer being directly propositioned to like, subtle flirting and understated cues. cam loves watching people flirt with him bc it goes grandly over his head unless they're very direct

i have at least 5 aus for him now, maybe more? i started him out with cam, thought it would be fun for them to invite a third, and then in the villain au there was a secret dragon and that became ryden, the 4th boyfriend. so i dont even know how ryden fits in the original story but. they just do it's fine. zen was originally a pc i made for a bad bad dumb terrible game and i rescued him and gave him a home and three boyfriends who love him to bits and he is happy

Some things about myself:

I tend to come off as very social and friendly bc I'm too socially awkward to decline a conversation haha. I'm usually good at making small talk if the other person asks questions but I can't really come up w topics myself. The one exception is if they ask about my interests bc I will go on for literally hours (and on multiple tangents) if they don't stop me lmao

I've almost always got a smile on my face. I'm not the type to get angry or jealous easily, I'd most likely just be sad, and even then I'd never show it to anyone. It's like, I'm supposed to be the one supporting my friends, they can't see me like this

In extension to my last point: I hate being perceived as less than competent. I only accept failure when I'm alone. If someone's watching me I start to worry about my performance and tend to fuck up even more.

My memory for my day to day life is kinda terrible. It's not that I'm forgetful per se (if I focus on something I can certainly remember it), I just don't pay attention to the details of my daily life so if people ask me what I had for breakfast I wouldn't know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In contrast, I have an extensive library of random trivia in my brain. Whether it be the properties of every element on the periodic table or the evolutionary relationship between animals and fungi or the reason why we have an asteroid belt. If you ask me anything about the natural world I'll probably have an answer.

My love language is quality time and physical touch

My hobbies are drawing, creative (prose) writing, and piano! Tho I wouldn't let anyone watch me drawing/writing/practicing

I love cats and really any living thing. I'm the person who would trap the spider and take it outside. This is prob a result of my biologist training lol, learning about living beings gave me an appreciation of all life

I like one on one time with my friends/loved ones. We could be going out on a fancy date or just chilling at home, as long as it's just the two of us. Large gatherings wear out my social battery much more quickly.

As for dislikes, I can only really think of food preferences lol. I hate onions and mushrooms (green onion is okay tho and garlic is absolutely delicious). If someone will eat my mushrooms for me while I tell them about the different fruiting bodies of fungi I will marry them sdjfsjfks

Blaseball: The New National Pastime

Blaseball is my favorite game to come out this year so far, and that’s kind of an odd thing to say considering Blaseball barely feels like a game at all.

Blaseball is a splort in which 20 teams compete under the Internet League Blaseball organization, day and night, rain or shine, and at the behest of us fans who vote to remake the league in our own image.

That’s what the Blaseball FAQ says anyway. Less cryptically, Blaseball is a browser game — a massively multiplayer one at that — in which a league of fictional teams play something vaguely baseball adjacent while we as fans watch from afar through the window of an ever updating list of box scores. We don’t actually play the game — the in-universe game rather — but we are able to participate in a number of ways, like eating peanuts, which...well, I still don’t understand what eating peanuts does, but it’s a thing you can do.

When you first log in to Blaseball, you’re asked to choose a team, with little to go on other than their name and logo. Dallas Steaks, Baltimore Crabs, Hellmouth Sunbeams (wait, where is Hellmouth located?): once you’ve chosen, you’re now a fan of that team and are given a small amount of coins with which to gamble (virtual currency only, this is one of those rare free-to-play games that is actually free.)

And that’s how you’ll be interacting with Blaseball most of the time: betting on the day’s games, Salty Bet style. Every hour, there are 10 games going on, and you can look at the next 10 games starting the next hour and place your bets accordingly. Blaseball developer The Game Band even helpfully puts the odds next to each team’s chances of winning, so you can make an informed decision.

The money you earn from gambling can be spent on a handful of items in the Shop tab, but the most important one is purchasing votes. Votes can then be cast in a weekly election that can affect individual players, teams and the entire league itself. This is where Blaseball truly shines, and it’s what takes it from a relatively straightforward clicker/idle game into something special.

Elections are split up into two categories: Decrees, which are often league-shifting decisions made by majority vote, and Blessings, which are drawn raffle-style to bestow benefits to specific players or teams. An early decree voted upon was “Eat The Rich,” which redistributes the coins of the top 1% of participants to the other 99% at the end of each week/season (Bernie would be so proud.) While a blessing like “Vulture” would let your favored team steal the best hitter in the league and add them to your squad.

Watching the league evolve week to week is engrossing. Elections give fans just that tiny bit of interactivity, tilting the splort in one direction or another, and watching the results with bated breath. It’s a phenomenon I haven’t experienced since 2014’s Twitch Plays Pokemon, and similar to that socially-driven experiment, the community has embraced the game wholeheartedly, creating a deep, crowd-based lore behind every little detail and enhanced by the developers’ sometimes light — and sometimes quite heavy — touch.

After the first season of Blaseball ended, the blessing “Max Out Hitter” gave then-Dallas Steaks’ Jessica Telephone a five-star rating in batting. Fans interacting on the Official Blaseball Discord Channel began to attribute this surge in power to Jessica’s bat, dubbing it The Dial Tone. The Game Band supported this, and by Season 3, where player items were officially added to the game, The Dial Tone now was called out in the box score whenever Jessica came to the plate — and later, on her player profile after fans voted to “lift the Microphone” so they could get to know the players better.

The give and take from developers and fans is a fascinating one. While sometimes the interaction is friendly and collaborative, like in The Dial Tone instance, others have a very SUPERHOT-style antagonistic tone to them (and it doesn’t hurt that they share a similar color scheme as well). An example of this comes from Season 6, where the concept of Idols were integrated into Blaseball. Fans could idolize one player from any team and their accomplishments (hits and home runs for batters, strikeouts and shutouts for pitchers) could net fans extra cash. Jessica Telephone, being one of the best hitters in the league and a fan favorite, easily topped the idol leaderboard. But then, in a targeted form of discipline that’s plagued fans in a variety of ways since Season 1’s opening of the Forbidden Book of Blaseball rules, Jessica Telephone was “Shelled,” literally trapping her inside a giant peanut that skips her in the lineup. How long is she stuck like this? Who knows…

But that’s the great thing about Blaseball: nobody knows. And sometimes, the developers seem surprised at what’s happening as well. A recent blessing stated that the team who won it would steal the 14th most idolized player in the league. Fans began a campaign to make sure pitcher Jaylen Hotdogfingers was number 14. While normally this wouldn’t be a issue, the problem was that Jaylen Hotdogfingers was actually dead at the time, having been the first player to be incinerated by a rogue umpire after a game (another of the disciplines handed down by the Blaseball Gods). This isn’t something that could easily be done. You couldn’t just navigate to Jaylen’s player profile on the Blaseball site. You had to know the specific URL to the profile’s page, which seems to support the idea this wasn’t something intended by the developers.

When Hotdogfingers ended the season as lucky number 14, he…she….it (the Blaseball community is mixed on this, and The Game Band is staunchly in the camp of allowing every fan’s canon to be valid, only making things like The Dial Tone official when they appear to reach a critical and consistent mass in the community) returned from the void and seems mostly ok…other than the fact that random opponents are sometimes hit by Jaylen’s pitches and become Unstable, temporarily affecting their stats for a number of games. Probably nothing to worry about.

It’s a beautiful mess of a game. A never-ending ant farm where every ant has a backstory and occasionally a random ant gets an exploratory surgery that increases their pitching stat by one star (sorry, kind of lost the metaphor there…) 

There’s a 2018 interview with game developer Jade Raymond where she envisions what games might be like 10 years in the future:

Well, I’m thinking in the past maybe what we were trying to create was the Pixies concert or whatever. And now I think that we want to create this neighborhood bar. You could go and hang out and sit alone and read your book at the neighborhood bar. You could go and participate in karaoke night with your friends. You could go become a regular and everyone in the bar knows you, like in Cheers; you walk in and it’s like, “Norm!” You could be like the VIP. What you’re looking for out of that place can be very different, but it’s an appointment and a place you can go over and over again, and do pub trivia night with your friends if that’s what you’re into.

She goes on to talk about utilizing data to change the way a game works over time:

There’s some simple ideas, like, for example, if you take Game of Thrones, you know let’s say at one point in the story you’re going to have the Red Wedding. You know that at one point some family is all going to be obliterated. You can put these kind of big story beats there in your overall story. Then you could say, we’re going to do it based on data.

Let’s say you have a traditional faction system and let’s say players are really gravitating towards this one family, and they’re the most beloved. If you really want to shock the community the most, those are the ones you plug in to kill off — based on who players are really interacting with.

These are things Blaseball is doing right now, not 10 years as Raymond foretold, but in just two. Fans participate in Blaseball in a number of ways. Some make streaming audio broadcasts of the games, some share theories on Discord, some create incredible fanart and others just check in on the site every few hours or so. And as for the Red Wedding? Well, I told you about players getting incinerated and shelled, right?

So go play Blaseball right now, tell the commissioner he’s doing a great job and become a Hades Tigers fan to help my team win some blessings. It’s truly the cultural event of the season.

I’m gonna continue my series 15 watch with S15E20 “Unravelled”. This is the liveblog post. IDK, I’m running out of ideas for ways to introduce these posts lol.

Edit 1: Mr. Clarke, my beloved!! This is the only episode of his I haven’t seen before. I’m excited, but I feel a bit sad that after this I’ll have no more new Mr. Clarke content. He’s one of my favourite Holbyverse recurring characters.

Edit 2: Mr. Clarke talking to someone about their trauma from being held hostage is kind of funny when you consider that his next two appearances were both to talk to Henrik, who has also been held hostage, but just never told anyone about it. (Now, there’s something for a fic, actually - would Henrik ever mention the hostage incident to Russ?)

Edit 3: Mo to Jonny: “You’re not still moping about Jac, are you? Because it’s getting really tired now.” Agreed, Mo. Jonny was never good enough for Jac, so I’m utterly uninterested in him having anything to say about their relationship.

Edit 4: Mr. Clarke’s office looks so cosy and spacious. Plenty of room to pace (as I absolutely would while talking about my feelings, or anything really, because pacing across rooms helps me think). He’s a psychiatrist I’d like to go to, if only he weren’t fictional! Lol.

Edit 5: I like Serena's coat.

Edit 6: These episodes are making me really like Gemma, I don't think I've appreciated her enough before.

Edit 7: Oh, Jonny is so going to end up sleeping with this patient’s mum or something, isn’t he?

Edit 8: Omg the AAU patient’s wife that he kept mentioning actually passed away a year before. I was genuinely not expecting that plot twist, even though Holby and Casualty seem to use it fairly regularly. (Or at least it feels like they do, but I can’t actually recall any other episodes with such a storyline.)

Edit 9: Chantelle likes roller skating! A random bit of trivia to know about her, but I appreciate knowing it nonetheless. I do love Chantelle.

Edit 10: I like the shirt Serena's wearing.

Edit 11: Yep, Jonny asked the patient's mum out.

Edit 12: Gemma having a panic attack. :(

Edit 13: I don’t even like Serena, but they still managed to make me feel sorry for her just then.

Edit 14: Patient parallels can sometimes feel clumsy or too obvious, but the way they’re paralleling Gemma and her patient over their un-dealt-with trauma is really well done!

Edit 15: Serena’s struggle to balance her overwhelming worry for Adrienne as her daughter with her desire to go straight into doctor mode to cope is actually quite cleverly done.

Edit 16: Not Serena lashing out at Chantelle!! I get why Serena’s so distraught, I really do, but... leave Chantelle alone.

Edit 17: I like how Michael’s being really nice to Gemma now, even though he was a bit of an asshole when she first showed up. <3

Edit 18: I love the Sacha and Mo friendship.

Edit 20: Gemma’s patient was comforting her after she had another panic attack, and then, while she was still clearly upset and crying, he went in and tried to kiss her?! Mate, don’t you think that’s the last thing she needs or wants right now?

Edit 21: Okay, Michael’s gone right back to being an asshole to Gemma. He’s blaming her and calling Henrik over the incident with her patient trying to kiss her, saying she was getting “too up close and personal” with him (the patient), when HE initiated it and she didn’t want it or ask for it, and in fact she immediately pulled away and told him no?!

Edit 22: I relate to Mo being annoyed with Jonny. Glad she's going out for a meal with Sacha instead.

Edit 23: Michael is... not being as much of a jerk as he could’ve been, I guess.

If you're curious, here are a five random facts about me.

(1) I’ve never been to heaven or Oklahoma. But I do like The Beatles. (I make corny references to songs and movies in a regular conversation all the time. LOL.) 

(2) When I was about 7 or 8 years old, I misspelled a word once because I had copied the way my father spelled it. My teacher marked me wrong and told me my father was WRONG! I talked back to her … in defense of my beloved father …and was sent to the Principal’s office for being rude and discourteous. (Although the principal laughed and said she understood because she knew my dad. However, she still had to punish me because I couldn’t be allowed to get away with talking back to the teacher in front of the other students. I took my punishment defiantly and proudly. ) About 10 years later I visited my father’s country and what do you know? That’s how they spell that word in his country. So! My dad was RIGHT!! I felt so vindicated. LOL. Wish I could have shown my teacher. 

(3) Growing up in Miami, Florida, I experienced a lot of hurricanes. The hurricanes did not upset me. What upset me was the fact that the names of the hurricanes were all FEMALE. I never complained openly about it though. But I guess somebody complained because when I got older they started giving the storms MALE names. Hurricane Bob (1979) was the first hurricane with a man’s name. (Fun Trivia) Bob was not a memorable storm. Hurricanes Cleo and Camille KICKED BUTT!! I remember them! 

(4) We have several video games in our house. I have never played a video game. Not by myself or with any of my kids. I don’t know how to work the controllers. LOL. 

(5) I had a father, 7 brothers, 1 husband, and 5 sons and to this day, I do NOT know how to tie a necktie. Frankly, since I wasn’t going to be wearing them, I never saw the need to learn. Besides! Why should I bother to learn? They sell those clip-on neckties with the tie knot already done. That was my flawless logic and I was sticking to it! Then one day, one of my daughters said she was putting together an outfit that reflected her personality. She asked if she could borrow one of her dad’s neckties and if I could help her tie it. I sure didn’t see that coming! She had to figure out how to tie that tie herself. LOL.

uhhhhh i honest to god don't have a story yet per se ;u; in my defense though, i care way more about developing my characters than any sort of plot;; but yes here's some trivia!

you've already heard a bit about reiji, so i'm giving his spot to hideki <3 hideki works as a piercer in the same tattoo shop as mikoto, while working on a master's degree in design and helping out with his parents' restaurant. he's 188 cm, his natural hair color is brown, and his father's mother was russian. he became friends with reiji in middle school pretty much by accident - he once went up to reiji and was like "um. you know that no one thinks you're cool, right?" he wasn't even trying to be mean, that was just his way of asking reiji why he was doing the chuunibyou thing.

hikaru <3 my beloved <3 is basically pangender and is okay with any pronouns! he loves lolita fashion, especially classic lolita, and her favorite brand is mary magdalene, but alas! they're 182 cm and have really broad shoulders so it's hard to find pieces that fit without alterations ;n; also hikaru and subaru have been together for 4 years <3 and when i eventually come up with a story for all this, i refuse to have any weird relationship drama about them being partners and bandmates. like, i just won't do it. i don't care how realistic it is, i despise relationship drama and wouldn't touch it with a 40-foot pole.

mikoto and subaru are childhood friends/neighbors who went to the same elementary, middle, and high schools (albeit 2 years apart). mikoto used to be a hella delinquent, largely because he was trans and didn't really know how to process his dysphoria as a wee lil babby (also lbr mikoto's kinda dumb bless him). he was like "wearing a dress makes me mad >:( and boys make me mad by just existing >:((( im gonna fight somebody" i haven't decided on mikoto's deadname and tbqh i'm probably not gonna give him one lol what's the point of giving a character a name that no one's supposed to use?

subaru is...Odd (tm). he's a good person, mostly; just weird. he's got anger issues and uses his drumming (and fucking lmao) to vent. i haven't decided why he's so angry yet, but i have decided that i am NOT gonna let him be abusive 😤😤😤 y'all can pry hikaru's happiness and safety from my cold, dead hands (y'all being me i guess)

finally, about 7-DAZE as a whole: i guess they count as visual kei because of the elaborate makeup, costumes and "characters" that each member plays on stage, but their sound is pretty much power metal with some symphonic and orchestral elements thrown in for good measure - if nightwish was played by dragonforce, or really just look up "the lost elysion" by xandria (except with tenor vocals lmfaoooo though reiji does have a decent falsetto and might be able to pull off those high notes with some practice)

1. Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee

Although this book doesn’t have the best rating, I’ve been interested in reading it for a while now. I wouldn’t have hunted it out, but this hardback was in perfect condition and I couldn’t resist.

I added this to the list of books I wanted to read back in July and had been waiting for a good deal on it. So when I saw the perfect condition hardback, I jumped for it.

It's the beginning of the summer in a small town in Ireland. Emma O'Donovan is eighteen years old, beautiful, happy, confident. One night, there's a party. Everyone is there. All eyes are on Emma. The next morning, she wakes on the front porch of her house. She can't remember what happened, she doesn't know how she got there. She doesn't know why she's in pain. But everyone else does. Photographs taken at the party show, in explicit detail, what happened to Emma that night.

3. The Forgetting Time by Sharon Guskin

I knew nothing about this book but it looks really interesting!

She always chalked it up to the fact that Noah was precocious―mature beyond his years. But Noah’s eccentricities are starting to become worrisome. One afternoon, Noah’s preschool teacher calls Janie: Noah has been talking about shooting guns and being held under water until he can’t breathe. Suddenly, Janie can’t pretend anymore. The school orders him to get a psychiatric evaluation. And life as she knows it stops for herself and her darling boy.

Number of pages: 338 & 356 

These books are the second and third books in the Crossfire series. I read Bared to You (number one) while on holiday so when I saw that the other two books were there at an extremely cheap price, I got them.

I won’t talk too much about the synopsis of these as they are not the first in the series, but if you like Fifty Shades, you’ll like these.
