We should have had more mercurial musical figures these days thanks to the old ones who had to rely a lot on the gatekeepers that possessed the power. The latter could've broken these players, yet they persevered. However, there are actually fewer figures in the vein I mentioned despite the lack of the doormen. The reasons for that are numerous, though let us leave that discussion for some other time and discuss Vektroid who does belong to the category I discuss. While she continues to be the face of vaporwave, her latest works move beyond the label into something that  remains distinctly hers. I usually describe her latest pieces as a soundtrack for a retro video game made by Autechre that took a lot of speed, which was supervised by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The only way people will discover a band like Air Supply now (outside of being alpha’ed around its release) is if you’re a big fan of New Dreams Ltd’s. Initiation Tape: Isle Of Avalon Edition (2014) and you’re curious about the original sources that Ramona Andra Xavier used to chop, screw, pull, and slur out of its’ oblivion. Only then you could appreciate it now.

Spain has a nifty, interesting issue of this single in that’s it’s printed in anaglyphic 3D. Get your red and blue glasses ready...

Originally issued towards the start of the Vaporwave craze, in the wake of seminal early efforts by 0PN as KGB Man & Chuck Person, this album by Ramona Andra Xavier turned a playful idea into a formulaic and frankly pretty annoying style which has been riffed on by any kid with YouTube and a copy of audacity. In some ways, that’s a great thing, but in others, it became a shit meme far too quickly, but has persisted this way ever since with little or no change to the formula. For our money, you’d be better off schooling yourself in DJ Screw, V/Vm and those early 0PN offshoots, but collectors and vape scene types surely won’t be able to resist this pink vinyl pressing - with poster - even if it means cutting down on avocados for a week or two (give the Chileans a break, eh? “   lolle

Es gibt jetzt Leute die dem Braten nicht trauen und vermuten das Label Tracking Waves wäre nicht zuverlässig was das tatsächliche Verschicke der Vinyls angeht. Es könnte also gut sein, dass sich die ‘Floral Shoppe-Story’ wiederholt. 😹

You can glean a certain careful trepidation present in many of the latest by the elder (statesmen). Yes, you are correct they seem to be afraid. For instance, Ryuichi Sakamoto doesn't behave like a person who is scared, though he does probably go towards this direction thanks to the shadow of his cancer diagnosis, his fear does make sense. However, one also hears an incredible optimism in his late style. While he would agree the world is in a state of disarray, he tries to locate a semblance of hope. When he does the latter, he puts that up front. I mean, async might be for me one of his brightest LPs. Listen to the cut on the link – is he talking to Ramona Andra Xavier about him being the originator of vaporwave? The music on the song does point there.

Marvin Gaye “My Love Is Waiting” UK and Netherlands pressing (1982)

The closing track from 1982′s Midnight Love, his final and most successful record of his. “My Love Is Waiting” was played as an instrumental to close out his shows on the Sexual Healing Tour as a good-bye and thank-you to those closest to him. Fans of New Dreams Ltd. and everything Ramona Andra Xavier should note that this was used for 2014′s Initiation Tape: Isle Of Avalon Edition.

“My Love Is Waiting” was only issued in Europe. This is the UK and Netherlands sleeves.

1. Coloquei na lista mesmo sendo uma banda bem famosa já, pois ela é menosprezada e os singles não traduzem a arte de se conhecer os álbuns.

2. O nome da banda é simplesmente Ludo e por causa do nome que eu conheci, por ser quase meu nick do Twitter e tal, mas gostei muito e por isso está na lista, pois na lista só estão bandas que eu de fato conheço, no sentido de ouvir e aprovar mesmo. Coloquei a notinha só de curiosidade e também pra dizer que se você digitar Ludo Rock, encontra fácil, ok? Coincidências acontecem, assim como há o canal Luba TV e uma cantora já falecida chamada Luba.

♦ De todas da minha lista, acredito que só é difícil encontrar algo sobre Astronautas, que é uma banda também foda. Não confundam com outras bandas de nomes do tipo. A banda Astronautas que me refiro é brasileira e sim, o nome é simplesmente assim: Astronautas. É uma banda aqui de Pernambuco e revoltante que não estejam mais na ativa.

♣ Apesar de Dorgas não estar na ativa desde de 2011, ou algo assim, eles tem outros projetos que valem ser tão conferidos quanto.

♠ Caso não encontrem de cara, saiba que o nome do vocalista da banda D é Asagi. Saibam também que aparece muita coisa da banda ao digitar D Blood Relation e saibam que são encontradas várias coisas, entre outras lojas, as da Discogs e CDJapan. Eu acrescento que só recomendo arriscar CDJapan quando não encontrar em outro lugar. Ainda não comprei lá. Já no CDJapan, começo a comprar, agora que comprei meu armário/guarda-roupa e tal. Daqui pra janeiro, CDJapan, me aguardade. Eu postarei no meu canal duplo no YouTube. Fiquem ligados!
