no screentones no patterns no swirly clouds no chunky outlines no spiky grass no sky lines even!!!! What the fuck!!!!!!!! like this is a blatant misunderstanding of the art direction at best. like.

and also just a lot of concerning little changes like that i guess the gallows didnt look papery enough? idk i dont like the direction a lot of these changes take, they disrespect or outright ignore the art direction of the original. obv not all the areas are this bad but like holy shit imo its pretty bad. paper mario was a huge inspo to me back in the day and them cheesegrating off the flat graphic style in favor of the sticker star/origami king-ish look is DISGUSTING AND HORRIBLE SHAME ON YOU DEVS
