The one we've known for the last 20 odd years was designed by Dirk Rudolph, and this is what he says

"In fact, the idea is that the cross is already in the letter “T” of the word Rammstein. The line in the “T” is almost halfway and approaching the shape of a cross. This symmetrical shape is really interesting. The cross is a powerful symbol, but it is also an important message. The combination of the letter " R" and the cross (i.e., " T") was something of an abbreviation for the Rammstein name."

considering how many people I see calling Till “tillybear” or some variation of that on here, i’m kind of surprised rammstein’s merch team hasn’t taken that concept and ran with it yet. imagine if you could actually buy a little beanie-baby style plush bear all dressed up like him 😭❤️

I could write a lot about Germany’s premier musical export, and maybe some time I will, but for now I’m just playing around with this neat barbed wire / crown of thorns graphic they used for the cover of their digital-only rarities album. They use the stencil-style logo on just about all their promo material and merchandise, which is a shame because the chunkier solid style is clearly superior in my humble opinion, so here’s my effort to chunk it up. I may have chunked it up a little too far in a few places.

All the versions of this track on Youtube seem to have the opening fashion show vignette chopped off from the album version, so you’ll have to stream it the old-fashioned way for the full experience. What’s the deal with people who go fiddling around with someone else’s hard work and then posting it online like anyone wants to see their goofy twist on the material? Could never be me 😏 –A∙

Feuer frei at FSV Goldlauter - Rock star Till Lindemann supports Suhl youth team

The C-junior team of FSV Goldlauter can look forward to new jerseys at the start of the season. Not particularly unusual at first glance. But at second glance, it's a really nice story. Because the jersey sponsor is not a local company, but Germany's most famous rock star.

Unbelievable but true. Till Lindemann, singer of the band Rammstein and successful solo artist and author, has become the shirt sponsor of the youth team of the small Thuringian club. His logo prominently adorns the new, white JAKO jerseys of the young footballers.

"Of course, it's not so easy to find sponsors who can or want to raise the money for a complete set of jerseys, especially in the youth and in our rural area. During the last Rammstein concerts in Gelsenkirchen, I had the idea of simply asking Till Lindemann, with whom I've been friends for many years. So I wrote Till a WhatsApp message and got a positive reply straight away."

After Lindemann's approval, the new jersey was designed by DeinTeam24 based on the Jako Iconic shirt.

Jeremy Weisheit, coach of the FSV Goldlauter C youth team: "I would like to thank Alex Becker and especially Till Lindemann. My players and I are really proud to be able to play in these special shirts. It's not every day that a superstar like Till supports our team. We will do everything we can to live up to this honor."

Imagine... Johnny Rotten, but from Zagreb. For some reason, he attends Church every Sunday and every other day runs a hidden fascist underground sex ring, where he can't really do his job properly because of this one short blonde guy (who also happens to be a co-founder) who insists that Laibach plays there 24/7. Well, the YU-edition Johnny prefers Rammstein, Wizo, or maybe even Depeche Mode, and he strongly believes that Laibach suck and Rammstein are superior and that they were first. This usually results in the blonde guy hitting him with a cross saying they stole Laibach's cross logo, deep vocals and electro-intervals. Also everyone wants to stab him because he is too sexy.

A patch I made for my vest.

Maybe I'm just a snowflake but there aren't many artists whose entire discography I know well enough that I feel like they would be well represented with only the logo or name (and those who are aren't really people I'd want on my vest anymore *cough cough* Rammstein) And I also want my patches to be something more than just a logo or a slogan.

That's why I try to make patches of one specific album or even one specific song of an artist that is important to me in one way or another. And while wowaka technically is a rare case where I have listened to pretty much everything he put out I still wanted to make a patch of his most popular work, the unhappy refrain album. Not only is it one of the staples of vocaloid music in my opinion it's also been one of my favorite albums for a long long time now. Probably ever since I've discovered vocaloid in 2016. It was a nice bonus that the artwork is very stencil friendly and I think it turned out really nice even though it's very minimalistic but that's the best I could do.

Smidvarg and the Gang

Alright, so here's my idea for a modern AU where the boys of RTTE are in an industrial/metal band.

Tuffnut is the lead singer because I think he would be good at screaming and have a great stage presence. He named the band Smidvarg and the Gang. Smidvarg is not his stage name. Smidvarg is the name of the dragon they use as their band logo. No one else really understands why that's the name, but they just went with it, and it's too late to change it at this point.

Snotlout is on drums because he gets to hit stuff and show off his arms. Literally never wears shirts with sleeves. Often no shirt at all. He also does a lot of backup singing because at one point I heard him sing in RTTE and it was pretty decent. If Tuffnut is the Serj Tankian of the band, Snotlout's vocals are the Daron Malakian.

Fishlegs is on bass because it's a chill instrument to play and he'd find it calming. Also just...seems like the Boulder Class of band instruments if that makes sense? Very low and heavy.

Hiccup and Dagur are on guitar. I think Dagur does more lead guitar stuff because he likes going crazy on stage while Hiccup is on rhythm guitar. Dagur probably does some yelling too. I know Hiccup's the protagonist so it seems like he should be lead singer and/or lead guitar but I don't picture it that way. He just likes to play along with his friends. I don't think Hiccup can sing - either that, or he can but he's real shy about it. Maybe only when the others are singing with him. He also does the designs for their merch and album art.

The sound of their band is somewhere between System of a Down, Rammstein, Korn, and Heilung. Heilung especially for the lyrics and a lot of the vocals. If you don't know Heilung please check them out immediately and then imagine the people of Berk singing/chanting some of their songs at a celebration or before a battle. It's amazing.

Their look is very much how they look in RTTE because I imagine they'd lean into the metal and leather Viking thing. Tuffnut's outfit is already perfect - for the others, just make it darker and add some spikes. Maybe some of the dragon racing face paint in darker colours. Dagur's outfit might look more like it does in RoB/DoB. Possibly also with the long hair? But definitely the older character model.

Also - Astrid, Ruff, and Heather are in a riot grrrl band called Valkyrie that I need to think more about. Possibly more on that later.

Ok, well that's all. I will probably end up drawing fan art of this at some point. Time to go imagine this band singing any dark rock song I like.
