(4.) [Andrea] Judges, are you ready to try the four appetizers our young chefs have prepared for you?

(7.) [Dulce] Reality is hitting me. I'm feeling a bit sick now.

(8.) [Andrea] First up, we have Chef Lewis's appetizer.

(9.) [Lewis] Seriously? I've always been picked last in things, especially when it comes to picking teams in physical education class. Oh well, I'm pure done in from all the worrying. Let's get this over with.

(10.) [Lewis] Judges, today I have for you a pea shoot salad with crumbled sausage, flatbread croutons, and a shakshuka sauce vinaigrette.

(11.) [Carlo] These croutons are awfully burnt, buddy. We can't try them like this.

(12.) [Rubiya] Poor Lewis.

(13.) [Dulce] Oh, man.. at least the rest of the bowl looks pretty?

(14.) [Lewis] Yeah, I'm sorry. I lost track of time, so I put the heat up, but then I sorta forgot about 'em. But they're one of the basket ingredients, so I had to keep 'em in so I don't get immediately disqualified, y'know?

(15.) [Sofia] I respect that, Chef Lewis. You're not backing out of the race just yet. That's admirable, in my opinion. This vinaigrette is delicious, by the way.

(16.) [Carlo] The crumbled sausage is actually cooked to perfection...

(17.) [Mia] It really is a shame about the croutons because everything else came together quite beautifully.

[Sofia] Thank you for the food, Chef Lewis.

[Lewis] Thank you, judges.

Author's Note: Alright, here's the first full Roman God and demigod! Bellona was a wild to read. There's a lot about her but also not? Like there wasn't much a lot of backstory weight behind her and Bellona was often conflated with a Greek god, Enyo, and there's a both wild and carnage side to Bellona, but also respect and honour. Apart from Mars, Bellona is the next god to be worshipped at Camp Jupiter; so you’re equally respected alongside Bellona and are expected to embody the aspects of your mother and bring glory to Camp Jupiter with her skills and ferocity.

Just as much as you bring destruction and violence at the end, you bring peace when you end it; because at the end of war, there is peace; regardless of its outcome. Like Mars said, if there is only war, it's only mindlessly killing and there is no glory in that.

Like many other children of warfare, you are adept at fighting, the weapon in your hand an extension of yourself, and it only grows more fluidly and instinctually in your hands with time put into your skill. Your adeption at your weapon doesn’t necessarily have to be a blade, but can be your words and skill as well, because in war there are many methods and strategies in war.

Speaking of warfare, with Bellona being a patron of foreign warfare, you may have ties with other countries and adopt your birth country or home country’s style of warfare, battling, martial art style into your own. If not, you have a particular pull towards a country or style of warfare and become very knowledgeable in it. While in the Legion and Camp Jupiter tells you to conform with their Roman values and fighting style, at the soonest opportunity to being able to break formation and take on an individualistic maneuver, you are more deadly than before. Your limitation is being forced to move with your fellow Roman soldiers in order to maintain unity and harmony as you march towards the battlefield.

On the other hand, being a child of the patron of foreign warfare also extends to languages. You have a better grasp on languages that are outside of your birth language(s) so being multilingual is almost natural to you. The multilingualism is usually a good indication of foreign warfare tactics that I stated above, and vise-versa. 

Bellona was identified with the Greek Goddess Enyo, who is the goddess of and/or personified spirited of war. With Enyo, who followed the lead of Ares, she carried the turmoil of shameless hatred; bringing strife onto the battlefield. You too are like that once you are put on the battlefield. When you are no longer held back or behind the limits of strict values of Roman soldiers, you raze through your enemies, striking fear in your fellow soldiers but also courage to them as you are on their side. This is maybe why the children of Bellona are few and those who do exist, often take upon status of leadership and management. You are an expert in warfare and how to bring total destruction, thus you are in the right place to prevent such occurrences to your fellow Romans.

Bellona was also identified with the Sabine goddess of War, Nerio, who was the personification of Valor. This translates to you as well. Even if you are anxious and maybe shy, you honour Bellona by choosing to fight; whether it’s agony, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. While Valor is often conflated with courage or bravery in physical battle, being a child of Bellona doesn’t constrain you to this. It can be a mental battle, and Bellona is proud of you regardless. So even having mortal courage to act rightfully in the face of opposition, shame, scandal, discouragement, or personal loss, you still display the virtue of valour.

Being a child of Bellona also allows you to give a rousing and encouraging speech to others, as you can ignite the spark of encouragement in others, building their courage up like a fire.  This is very useful not only in battle, but in everyday life. You also make an excellent ambassador or spokesperson, speaking for profit or other interests. Guess that’s how Reyna became a great praetor.

I feel like when Reyna is made aware of your existence there’s a sense of scrutiny for Bellona’s favour and attention is rare outside of the field of war. Reyna also comes from a long line of those who were favoured by Bellona, so it is her responsibility to know you but also it is a relief she can find another sibling in you; however close or distant your relationship is.

(1.) [Andrea] You have 30 minutes to make an appetizer using all four of the basket ingredients. The timer starts... Now!

(2.) [Alex] I'm making a raclette with an assortment of merguez sausage, vegetable flatbread, pea shoots, and a side of shakshuka sauce. I think everything will go nicely with the melted cheese.

(3.) [Alex] I'll add ham, salami, steamed potatoes, and olives. I'm kind of playing it safe, but I hope the variety of flavors work out for me. It's all part of my strategy to at least get to the second round.

(4.) [Lewis] I've calmed down now. I decided to make a salad with pea shoots, crumbled sausage, flatbread croutons, and a shakshuka vinaigrette.

(5.) [Lewis] It's a salad. I can't possibly mess this up.... right?

(6.) [Dulce] I went with pizza wedges with a flatbread crust. They'll have shakshuka sauce, pea shoots, and merguez sausage. Of course, I'll be adding some mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

(7.) [Dulce] The pizza wedges are going to be soooo cute and fun. I'll also put some bacon bits and garlic. I can't put too many things, though. The wedges aren't going to be that big.

(8.) [Rubiya] I'm making spaghetti with merguez sausage meatballs, shakshuka sauce, and pea shoots. I'll add the vegetables from the flatbread to my sauce and use the rest of the flatbread to make garlic bread.

(9.) [Rubiya] Could I have made shakshuka? Yes, but that's rather predictable. Also, as someone from a Middle Eastern family, I refuse to use premade shakshuka sauce. I must make it from scratch.

(10.) [Andrea] It's time to introduce the two judges here today who are joining Michelin-Starred Chef, Mia D'Angelo-Ramirez.

(11.) [Mia] Thank you, Andrea. I'm always accompanied by amazing people, but I think the viewers and contestants will find today's lineup quite astounding.

(12.) [Dulce] Wow, it's actually her... I look up to Chef Mia a lot as another Mexican-Italian. I don't have Italian blood like her, but I was born here. I want to be on her level someday.

(13.) [Lewis] Oh my gosh..... I know Chef Mia is in every episode, but I still got nervous again when I saw her at the judges' table. She is so beautiful and talented.

(14.) [Carlo] Mia, you flatter me.

[Andrea] Chef Mia is right, though! Folks, here we have Executive Chef and Food Entrepreneur, Carlo Mancini.

(15.) [Alex] Chef Carlo Mancini??? He's the real deal. It's too late to change my appetizer now, so I have to impress him with my raclette.

(16.) [Rubiya] Chef Carlo Mancini. This will be fun.

[Sofia] Thank you so much. I've already been having a blast here. Not many people know this, but I was actually in culinary school for a bit before I decided to pursue music full-time.

actually like. obsessed w the idea of sidney seeing sam for the first time and not being able to stop herself seeing the similarities between her and billy loomis

it started with a quick glance at the hospital, when sam was pushing tara's wheelchair out of the elevator. sidney's head was all over the place, never one to be accommodated by the thought of loss, even with how much she was used to it at this point. and it was dewey, of all people. she lost dewey, her big brother, one of her best friends.

gale had told her beforehand. even dewey texted her said fact. she knew this was, in fact, billy's estranged daughter, one conceived by cheating and lying. that doesn't affect her – love and billy were two words that hadn't mixed in her head for over 25 years. but she can't lie that walking up to her and seeing her up close made her feel something creeping up her chest, a sharp pain that made her grimace slightly.

because samantha – sam, she said that sidney should call her sam – had something painfully familiar in her.

she could see christina ramirez written all over her; the tanned skin and thick eyebrows, full lips and long, dark hair. her voice sounded similar to her mother's, too, or at least as much as sidney could remember from someone she hasn't seen in more than two decades.

but her eyes were definitely not christina's.

she felt coldness in them, the kind of cold that penetrates your own eyeballs and leaves chills down your spine. though sam's pained expression could never match billy's poise, this similarity was enough to throw her off her balance, enough to make sidney cautious – way more cautious than she should be, considering she is talking to a victim, just like her.

and then, in stu's house, she sees her.

sees sam taking revenge on the man that hurt her. sees her attacking him not only as a means to survival, but as an exercise of brutality that sidney hadn't seen from many people before.

she sees as sam takes a stance, arms at her side, blood on her arms and knife in hands, and sidney can't help but see flashes of pale skin and short hair, flashes of a white shirt covered in fake blood and we all go a little mad sometimes and hello sidney, surprise sidney, surprise, surprise, surprise.

it pains her, scares her, terrifies her as she limps towards the girl. makes her hands shake as she continuously eyes the knife still clutched by her hand.

it all fades away when gunshots make her wake up from her trance, when an also limping – poor girl, she's been through enough – frail girl drops her gun and tries to suck a breath in. all of sidney's fears melt into a puddle on the floor when samantha (sam, sam, sam) drops the knife, runs up to that fighter, that small fighter, and embraces her tight, asking over and over if she's okay, if her body isn't aching too much, apologizing and telling her that it's over, that they will be fine, to not take her eyes off of her.

because as much as looks can deceive, she realizes that billy's soul (or lack of) could never be compared to this girl's protective and caring nature. because billy is dead for good, and karma is coming back to bite him and tear his legacy down in the hands of his own blood.

Many devoted followers, opposed to Feng's more conservative financial policies, have expressed outrage at this change, but the opinion of the majority can be summed up by a simple comment from 'samanthabynes84' on Ramirez's first political post.

Whether she's a sellout, or has just had a political change of heart, Ramirez remains an incredibly influential figure in the fashion scene, and her work with the Fengs has brought her artistry into the Adult world, and out of the realms of social media. What will she get up to next?
