alim never had any particular opinion about cullen.     during his days in kinloch hold, when cullen got stationed, all alim saw was a templar just green enough to play nice with & expect the same leniancies he’d managed to gain from some of the other templars.     the man hadn’t even seen an abomination before, let alone fought one yet, so alim saw no threat.     when they saw each other again during the blood mage’s siege of the tower, alim only had pity for cullen.     his mind had clearly been battered, it was rather impressive that he was still alive & coherent, as paranoid as it’d made him.     alim couldn’t blame him  ;     if he hadn’t felt he owed as much to irving as he did, he might’ve considered bending to cullen’s pleas to kill every mage in the harrowing chamber.     but he did feel he owed irving, & thus the circle, so he ignored cullen.

regardless of verse, alim doesn’t think of cullen again until the inquisition is formed, whether it’s because he was contacted by the inquisition or because he was at the conclave & was at the center of it all.     any awkwardness between them would be solely on cullen’s part, as to alim he’s just another templar at first, despite their brief history.     as inquisitior, alim does gradually enter an acquaintanceship with cullen, in a quiet & “huh, when’d that happen” way eventually becoming sort of friends as they actually get to know each other beyond “we were briefly in the same circle & both saw shit hit the ceiling during the blight & one of us happened to suggest indiscriminate murder as a solution for one (1) problem”.     at the very least, alim’s agreeable to a game of chess, & sometimes letting cullen win, & he does genuinely respect cullen’s work as commander.

Fubuki- 8/10 theyre sooo cute together and i love how patient and sweet yuma is with her and how much she opens yuma's mind!!! also just not at the front of my mind but it is a banger ship. anyway can we start calling them kokoclock

Vivia- 20/10 OH BABY... fellas is it gay to be narrative foils? is it gay to change each others' outlook on life and truth and peace and happiness? also this fucking height difference makes me crazy

Kurumi- solid 2/10 i dont hate it but i dont like it either. the game makes me dislike it but ive seen some good fanon stuff. i think it's at its best if kurumi has a one-sided fangirl crush that's lowkey creepy but not outright yandere

Makoto- 20/10 OUGHHH... i Really like this one. rattling them in my brain all the time. there's something i find deeply interesting in the way that they Truly understand each other. it's even easier to see ones own flaws and needs from an outsider's point of view, and i think that's a Really Good Thing for the world's most emotionally constipated minds

Yomi- 8/10 this one is extremely self indulgent to me because i think angry yuma is... really good. i want them to have nasty hatesex where they try to kill each other

Swank- 5/10 because erm uhhh. this has a very Specific appeal to me sorry. i want a lot of things to happen to yuma. swank should burn cigars on yuma's skin and then shotgun smoke with him in a seedy motel after yuma has made several bad choices in a row

Fake Zilch- 5/10 kind of similar reasoning to swank. not elaborating

the rest of the peacekeepers- idk man 2/10 or something i do not give a fuck about these ships but it's yuma so im open to them

Yuma Ramenhead (real Kokohead. I Call him Ramenhead. For ease in knwoing who tf I mean): 5/10 I think they're funny but like please add Makoto in and it's just really funny. I simply like it because I like things that make me laugh and that's litrally all. (There's more i could say. I wish we saw them properly interact desperately. But yah.)

Kurumi -5/10 I do Not like them. I hate them I hate how they're shoved at us like why do we need a love intrest character like this again?? I THINK I like em platonically? but also my dislike for Kurumi as a character/my opinion of her actively going down further somehow each time I replay the game & everything about her makes it Hard for me to really. Makoto okay I have to straight up say I don't know. like, my opinion changes each and everytime I think about them. My feelings are far too complicated for me to neatly fit a number here at all, I love their bond, it's deeply important to me, I 1000% see the appeal of shipping them, I don't know how I personally see their dynamic and im not sober enough to activate critical thinking. When I play again eventually maybe I'll form a better opinion

Yomi 9/10 okay look. Look. I. Don't know how to explain Why I love them so much right now really I just feel Oddly Happy each time I see them. My parents have become true ramenheads, they make the good stuff from scratch and my baby cousin loves it even though she's a very picky eater, but we've had some issues still bc her family is vegetarian and it's been hard to come up with a solid veggie broth recipe that isn't super hard to pull off. So I've taken it upon myself. I've purchased two ingredients: artichoke and dried chanterelle. I will combine their powers and hope to create something that is both rich and rustic, something with breadth and depth. Ultimately I'll definitely need to call upon some sesame oil and sambal oelek for richness and spice, but for now I'm just gonna cook the artichoke to extract its flavor and let the mushrooms sit in water overnight. Also I'm going to eat the artichoke 👍

Waaah - No Anime Expo this year

Cons are usually an annual marker for the summer. Its great to meet up with old friends and show off my latest cosplay. It’s been a week since 4th of July and more than missing the fireworks and BBQs, I miss my Anime Expo community. To be fair, I never would have been ready to share D’mon this year. Given the glacial pace at which I am progressing, AX 2021 is hopeful. I can definitely use the extra time. Seems like no matter what, its difficult to finish every year, but the mech we’re working on is overwhelming. Hopefully I’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel soon, Getting supplies during this Covid thing is difficult. Can’t as easily just pop out to the stores
