Console Fighting Games of 1998 - Ultraman Fighting Evolution

Ultraman Fighting Evolution is a fighting game based on the Ultra Series of science fiction books, anime, films and television shows and the 10th video game adaption which first started back in 1984 on the MSX. 

Ultraman Fighting Evolution plays very similar to previously covered entries in this series with the player taking control of one of the Ultramen and doing battle against an array of Kaiju creatures. 

The standard range of modes is on offer with a 1p v computer option a 2-player versus option a survival mode and a training mode. Like the majority of Ultraman games, Ultraman Fighting Evolution was not released outside of its native Japan, released on the PlayStation exclusively in the country on the 19th of February 1998.

Ultraman Rising (2024)

Thanks to the baby kaiju who came into Sato's life, if not, he'd still be an immature Ultraman who ignored his responsibilities. For me, this movie really helped Sato develop his personal growth. Not to mention the animation, especially the final battle, which reminds me of the Spider-Verse animation style. Besides, this ultraman design is also similar to ultraman powered, which I used to watch as a kid.

And the end credits really make me eager for the sequel. Please make it happen, Netflix.

Kenji let the other ultra lead him away and near the shore of a large lake, the shadows and shapes of something in the water flickered and shifted as they got closer.

“Ace?”

The same unfamiliar language called out a distant away as something rose out of the lake, narrow golden eyes shone against the dark landscape. It was more ultras!

This one was much taller and had a different build, more like it was suited for physical and stamina demanding tasks. A greenish smoke filter out of the hollowed out cheeks, and as they got closer. Kenji could see the indents and carved out clashes of battle scars.

“Brother Zoffy! I found him wondering the woods a little bit away!”

The shorter ultra talked quickly when he and Kenji reached the beach, the taller ultra stepping onto the sand and brushing off some water. Causing the odd sound of metal scrapping against metal to echo.

The taller ultra looked Kenji up and down before straighten his back and folding his arms behind him, inclining his head and speaking in those familiar but unknown words.

“It is good to see you again Lipiah, it is far past time you return home,”
