I got hooked on their music the moment I discovered their latest release, 'Heedless Hearts'. It starts off with a mellow guitar riff, followed by vocals that bring in melancholic melodies, while the drums gradually build up. The first chorus, about fifty seconds in, blew me away, and I'm absolutely loving its anthemic feel. The track then becomes incredibly powerful and electrifying and I can literally hear the crowd behind me singing along in my mind during aconcert. JILIAAN - Love Like a Movie

The singer-songwriter and pianist JILIAAN has found her own stunning musical niche, dancing through soundscapes that are tender and yet brilliantly catchy all in one, blending pop with more classical sounds that are sure to appeal to a wide-spanning audience. With her newest single ‘Love Like a Movie’, this sensation is felt to the utmost degree, haunting listeners with a pop ballad that devastatingly explores moving forwards from a heartbreaking loss. From pressing play, her bright but aching piano keys are there to set the tone, incredibly intimate and raw without a barrage of instrumental layers to hide her emotions behind. Ramellos - Heedless Hearts

The Newcastle-based alternative rockers Ramellos may have just stepped onto the music scene, but their sound displays a care and understanding far beyond that, sure to resonate with anyone searching for a sound that’s a little different from the norm. Through a string of live shows and plenty of time carefully putting together a debut single that’s sure to resonate, Ramellos are finally ready to be known by the masses. With ‘Heedless Hearts’ sure to grab you from pressing play, it’s hard not to linger on the gentle electric guitar riff and softened, slightly hushed vocals behind it, a moment that feels like peering through a keyhole into someone’s own private moment. Slowly rising with rising drums and bass twangs, everything about it feels completely fluid, a development that’s keeping you on your toes at all times. The chorus is stripped-back but heavenly to match, filled with drawn-out guitar strums, shifting drum patters and vocals that are unafraid to lead, hoarsely soaring with a delivery filled with emotion. Pressing forwards, the energy quickly shifts, a performance that’s now suddenly quick-moving and fleshed out with layers of constant guitar, backing vocals, a bright riff and leading vocals to top it all of. By battling between a fuzzy, angsty undertone and a front of intricacy and depth, Ramellos ensure their meaning transcends words alone, capturing a slither of their story through this sound too. Be sure to keep listening for yourself, it’s hard not to be impressed with a debut this spectacular.

Nyki Lindsay King - Running Out Of Time

Hailing from Montreal, Canada, the upcoming musician Nyki Lindsay King has found his own unique modern take inspired by greats like icons like Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, and Chester Bennington. Through a fusion of rock with funk, soul, R&B, and reggae, his music shines as deeply emotive and always eager to stand out. Now sharing his newest offering ‘Running out of Time’, Nyki takes on one of the most raw topics he’s tackled yet, exploring the harsh realities of our slowly dying world. Pushing listeners to take action themselves before it’s too late, this reflection on the world’s dwindling resources, global warming and growing struggles urges everyone to make a difference where they can: ‘I’m running out of time and I’m trying to save a life.’ The sound is just as urgent, dominating with gritty electric guitar strums, furious drums and blaring bass for a high-energy introduction. Simmering into the verse with cymbal taps and steady beats, looming guitar strums and hoarse leading vocals, the emotion of it all is impossible to ignore, with every heartfelt world thrust front and centre. The chorus returns back to the beginning’s frantic nature though, an explosion of guitar riffs, frenzied drums, powering vocals and an adrenaline-pumping atmosphere. Between these two states of intimacy and imperativeness, listeners are guaranteed to feel the narrative’s weight while still head-banging along to an anthem that’s all too catchy. Its old-school rock styling blended with modern influence also makes it all the more epic, standing out amongst other songs of its kind.

Say Less - Not Feeling This

After a 12 month hiatus, the alternative rockers Say Less are back with a sound that tops everything they’ve done before. Upping their songwriting, production and channeling a new sound, they’re ready to take on 2025 and show that they’re better than ever. Through a modern take on the 2000s pop-punk sound, their new single ‘Not Feeling This’ jumps in headfirst with a blaring electric guitar riff, storming drums and rich bass, full sending it in every way. The vocals are the perfect match for the raw sound, leading with such a natural spoken-sung whine and chant-along lines you’ll be picking up easily on a first listen. Exploring a story of getting caught up with the wrong girl, ignoring the warnings and ending up alone, there’s a lot of playfulness mixed in with heartache too. The group have even paid homage to Blink-182’s iconic melody before the song’s final chorus, capturing a classic slice of the genre with something refreshing too. For fans of the genre, Say Less have definitely solidified themselves as a group worth keeping an eye on moving forwards.

Wavey Days - I’m Losing It, Honey

Based out of Leeds, the upcoming musical prodigy Wavey Days has been taking over since early 2023, founded as a solo project by the man behind the music - Charlie. With a past in producing, performing as a live DJ and working as an instrumentalist, his talent already knew no bounds, but it was finally time to take it one step further. Discovering his own addictive slice of indie-pop transcendence, Wavey Days quickly carved a niche that you can’t help but love on first listen. With six singles to his name, his newest ‘I'm Losing It, Honey’ is sure to slot perfectly into the discography as something new and unskippable. Through peppy bounding bass twangs, tapped drums and dreamily echoed electric guitar strings, the sound is one that’s filled with ease and warmth from the get-go, an experience that can’t help but transport you to sunnier days. Charlie’s vocals are charismatic to lead, a delivery that’ll have you singing along well before you’ve even learned the words yet. The lyrics are an utter contrast to it all, seemingly displaying someone struggling to get out of a dark time: ‘I’m sinking in the water… gotta let it pass over me.’ As the chorus rises into gorgeous acoustic strums, drum beats, backing vocal murmurs and moodier bass, this new anthem is sure to be your song of the summer - or at least, preparing you for those brighter days as we slowly emerge out of winter’s claws.

Melz Cali: The Soul-Trap Mello Man

Melz Cali is an American rapper and singer who has been making waves in the music industry with his unique blend of hip hop and R&B. Born Rodney Fisher on September 16, 1979, in Amityville, New York, Melz Cali grew up with a passion for singing and music. He started his career as Ramello Zamar Calico, but later changed his stage name to Melz Cali, which stands for “Mello Calico”.

Melz Cali is known for his strong voice and incorporation of soulful melodies and trap beats, earning him the recognition as a soul-trap mello man. Some of his popular songs include “Sexcipe”, “Hit It Whenever”, and “Work”. He has collaborated with other artists such as Tribal Young Brown. He is currently signed to Roovet Records located in Jacksonville, Florida.

Melz Cali’s music is influenced by various genres and artists, such as Snoop Dogg, The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, DMX, and Jadakiss. He describes his style as “a mix of old school and new school, with a touch of mello”. He aims to create music that can appeal to different audiences and moods, from club bangers to romantic ballads.

Melz Cali is currently working on his debut album, The album will feature 12 tracks, including the singles “Sexcipe” and “RIP”. Melz Cali hopes that his album will showcase his versatility and talent as an artist, and that it will inspire and entertain his fans. Melz Cali is one of the rising stars in the music scene, who has proven his skills and creativity as a rapper and singer. He is determined to make a name for himself in the industry, and to share his mello vibes with the world.

Festa del libro medievale e antico 2023 di Saluzzo

La terza edizione della Festa del libro medievale e antico di Saluzzo, la manifestazione per adulti e ragazzi dedicata alla cultura e storia medievale attraverso romanzi, saggi, fantasy, lezioni, musiche e performance, promossa dalla Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Saluzzo e dalla Città di Saluzzo, in collaborazione con il Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino. si terrà dal 20 al 22 ottobre. Il tema di questa edizione sarà il viaggio nel Medioevo,  affrontato sotto diversi aspetti, inteso come itinerario da intraprendere per spostamenti pratici o per necessità di lavoro e commerciali; come desiderio di scoperta e avventura, sfida per il superamento di confini e condizioni; fantastico, epico e cavalleresco; o spirituale e mistico in un periodo di fervente religiosità, oltre a i pellegrinaggi militari di conquista che furono le crociate in Terra Santa. Tra i protagonisti ci saranno l’antropologo Marco Aime sul pellegrinaggio medievale alla Mecca del Sultano del Mali; il critico d’arte Nicolas Ballario sulle influenze del Medioevo nell’arte contemporanea; il monaco e saggista Enzo Bianchi sulla vita dei monaci; l’autrice Nicoletta Bortolotti su Christine de Pizan (1364-1430), prima scrittrice europea e; la regina degli scacchi Marina Brunello; lo storico Federico Canaccini sul viaggio dei pellegrini per il primo Giubileo della storia; lo scrittore Fabio Genovesi su Cristoforo Colombo; lo youtuber Roberto Mercadini con uno spettacolo su Orlando Furioso; le medieviste Beatrice del Bo (sui viaggi immaginari nei cieli medievali) e Laura Ramello (sui viaggi dei cavalieri), l’insegnante di filosofia e youtuber Matteo Saudino  sulla filosofia medievale e lo scrittore e critico letterario Domenico Scarpa, oltre a il medievista Amaury Chanou, il giornalista Leonardo Bizzaro; l’ingegnere Sergio Beccio con il professor Nuccio Gilli, l’autore Aldo Squillari, il compositore e giornalista Davide Riccio, lo studioso di storia Joseph Rivolin, l’insegnante e scrittore Pasquale Natale; l’insegnante e autrice Ivana Melloni; lo storico Ezio Marinoni. Non mancheranno la Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani Onlus con lo spettacolo dedicato a Marco Polo; il Coro Gregoriano Haec Dies di Alba con un concerto di canti gregoriani; il Marchesato Opera Festival con concerti di musica classica; il Dipartimento Educazione del Castello di Rivoli con un’azione collettiva per i più piccoli; il Teatro Liquido – Barcelona, grazie alla collaborazione con EstOvest Festival; sbandieratori, gruppi e rievocatori storici, trampolieri, giocolieri, cantastorie, giullari, saltimbanchi, danzatori che animeranno tutta la città. Inoltre gli esercizi commerciali  di Saluzzo esporranno nelle loro vetrine titoli di libri selezionati sul tema del viaggio, dalla saggistica alla narrativa, dal fantasy ai libri antichi per una bibliografia medievale che confluirà nel Fondo del libro medievale in continua espansione, nato con la prima edizione della Festa, custodito dalla Biblioteca civica di Saluzzo Lidia Beccaria Rolfi.  per la fruizione libera e gratuita. Ho visto ora lo scherzo a Lorenzo Insigne, giocatore del SSC Napoli e della Nazionale Italiana di Calcio, in onda da Le Iene . Non l’avete visto? Ve lo racconto. Lorenzo Insigne è un uomo geloso. Uno geloso al punto che sua moglie Jenny non può essere sui social, subisce ogni sera una perquisizione e controllo dello smartphone, viene rimproverata se per strada qualcuno la guarda.

Che hanno fatto allora quei geni de Le Iene? Un bello scherzone a Insigne, per fargli mettere in mostra tutta la sua gelosia. Inscenano così che la moglie sia contattata da un regista per un provino. Da qui parte il tutto: lui si ingelosisce che manco l’avesse chiamata Brizzi, fa mille domande, si agita, la prende a sberle. Continuano le chiamate e la costringe a dormire sul divano, sbotta davanti ai figli, che quando uno dei due va ad abbracciare la mamma capisci che quelle cose l’ha già viste. Ma non è finita qui. All’ennesima chiamata le strappa il telefono dalle mani, riaggancia, sbotta che lei è moglie e madre, di certo non può fare l’attrice. Siccome le sono anche arrivate dei fiori costringe la domestica a buttarli e avvisa: d’ora in avanti se non c’è lui in casa le cose destinate alla moglie dovranno essere rispedite al mittente. Tutto così, arriva perfino a dirle che l'indomani la accompagnerà a cambiare numero. La situazione esplode poi sul finale, quando Insigne raggiunge la moglie sul set, e lì viene svelato lo scherzo, lei “torna a essere una brava mogliettina”. Baci e abbracci.

È tutto così sbagliato che mi viene voglia di urlare. Ricapitoliamo. Nel corso dello scherzo lei prende botte, è costretta a dormire sul divano, subisce controlli costanti da parte del marito. Di fatto Insigne si comporta con la moglie come se fosse roba sua, ne limita la liberà. E Le Iene ci ridono su. Pensano bene che una roba come questa meriti di essere scanzonata in prima serata su Italia Uno. E invece questa è malattia, è maschilismo, è patriarcato. Di atteggiamenti del genere si muore. Per mariti così ogni giorno in Italia ci sono mogli che vengono umiliate, picchiate, che muoiono. Insigne dovrebbe vergognarsi, la povera Jenny Darone dovrebbe chiedere aiuto, Le Iene dovrebbero rispondere dell’aver mandato in tv uno spettacolo del genere.

Casa: nuove energie in movimento

La casa, che negli ultimi anni abbiamo imparato giocoforza a vivere di più, raccoglie le energie di chi la abita trasformandosi oggi in qualcosa di più di un luogo di piacere. Le "energie" di una casa Fulvia Ramello La casa del futuro, che è già la casa del presente, fa rima anche con rispetto dell'ambiente. Tematiche come efficientamento e autonomia energetica sono ormai propri del consumatore evoluto. Ed ecco che nel budget di una ristrutturazione casalinga troviamo anche una parte destinata all'installazione di un impianto fotovoltaico o a pompa di calore. Expocasa è lo show room dell’arredamento appena concluso all'Oval Lingotto Fiere di Torino. Giunto alla 59ma edizione, è il luogo in cui la casa si vive a 360 gradi. Dalle soluzioni di arredo e design, agli aspetti amministrativi, dalle proposte energetiche alle esigenze di persone con bisogni speciali. Una parte dell'esposizione denominata "Design for all", infatti, quest'anno ha illustrato ai visitatori soluzioni dedicate a persone disabili per consentire loro di vivere la casa in sicurezza e autonomia.
