maybe im thinking too much into this but like. the inumaki clan’s snake eyes and fangs seal having their own name seems to imply that there are other types of cursed speech seals that exist (hence the need for different names to identify them), especially considering that akutami has said in the fanbook that the inumakis are the only cursed speech users left and theyre being hunted to extinction now, implying that other clans of cursed speech users have existed in the past (that just got wiped out over time), possibly with their own unique types of cursed speech and unique seals

what tropes/AU plots are your favourite? and which ones do you think are overused or underused. are there any that you wld wanna see more of?

OH GOD CAN I SAY ALL OF THEM? give me all the tropes, all the time, every day. for the sake of this ask I’m choosing a Top 3 because if I don’t limit myself I’ll end up naming them all.

3. fake dating. the pining! the sexual tension! the oh my god we just kissed but stop feeling the things because it’s not real! and the eventual oh my god we’re behind closed doors and they’re still kissing me and touching me could this be.... real? it’s all my jam.

2. enemies (to friends) to lovers. nothing gets me more excited than mutual dislike and that agonizing slow burn as they become friends and have to unlearn everything they thought they knew about each other. that moment when they’re like huh, this person isn’t half bad. then when the feelings and the pining and the wow, did they always look that good? come *chef’s kiss*

1. bed sharing. self explanatory tbh. first kisses ensue, cuddling ensues, confessions in the cover of dark ensue. brownie points when combined with any of the aforementioned. oh, and when they’re roommates. omg when they’re roommates.

in terms of favorite AU plots I think my answers are the same for under and overused. I think we all love a good NYC pre-SC AU where David is a gallerist and meets Patrick in one way or another. or becomes his business manager/consultant and the business thrives. it’s been done so much but I also can’t get enough of them. the way Patrick softens David and protects him from himself and shows him how to love and be loved. also, I just genuinely love AUs where David and Patrick compliment each other intellectually. like fics that show how independently they’re brilliant, but together they’re kind of unstoppable.

idk if this will be controversial, but I really want to see more AUs where Patrick has more experience being queer? like I love the ones where Patrick gets to SC before David and gets a jump start on dating or just generally figuring himself out and then is still like woah when he first looks at David. still falling in love but skipping that whole insecure thing with David. I just really love take-charge, confident Patrick, ok?

Homonyms are like. super common in Chinese because there are only a limited number of pronunciations existing for every given character so Chinese internet does this real wild thing where sometimes people just replace words with homonyms for no discernable reason. Like, twenty minutes ago I saw someone write 同学 (student/classmate) as 童鞋 (childrens’ shoes) because they’re pronounced roughly the same way because people just Do That apparently
