DAY 26: RAMADAN IS LEAVING US
Ramadan is leaving us and many of us are still shocked at speed it has passed by.
Our goals which we have set may still not have been met yet, our hearts may not have softened yet, our bad habits may have not changed yet, we may feel it’s too late now Ramadan is leaving and we may feel our Ramadan was not as fruitful as we wished it would be, we may go to the mosque and see and hear people weeping when reading the Quran or in qiyam and we can feel that they are touched by this blessed month and we may feel everyone else’s hearts seem to soak in sweetness of this faith, as the tears soaking their cheeks as they beg for mercy, provision, and forgiveness.
So it is too late now for hearts to soft and bad habits to change?
Make Du`a’
“If you have approached the end of Ramadan, and you do not yet feel it in your heart, keep knocking on the door of Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala.
Keep knocking, keep knocking, and Allah will answer.
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Salutations be upon him) said, “the three men whose invocation is never rejected are: when a fasting person breaks their fast, the just ruler and the one who is oppressed” Ahmad, al-Tirmithi.
So let’s make sure we take advantage and increase our dua in these blessed last days of Ramadan.
Contemplate the Qur’an
Allah (swt) poses this powerful question:
“Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an, or are there locks upon [their] hearts? (Qur’an, 47:24)
How can we be of those whose hearts are not locked? We can make massive du`a’ that Allah (swt) opens our hearts, and we can contemplate the Qur’an.
Listen to the Qur’an with a recitation which penetrates your ears and overwhelms your heart.
While listening, go through the translation and work to understand the Qur’an.
Give Charity
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Salutations be upon him) said, “Sadaqah extinguishes sins like water extinguishes fire” (Tirmithi).
So let’s clean the rust which has been built up by the sins we have committed and start giving in charity and ask Allah to remove the buildup of rust, and to purify our hearts and souls.
Have an Objective
Let’s make sure that we are always working towards a goal.
Let’s take advantage of the treasures that we have in the last few days.
The good deeds are many so let’s pick from them and set an objective that not only covers the last few days of Ramadan but also covers the our daily life after Ramadan.
Most importantly before starting any of this let’s make sure we constantly renew our intentions inshallah.
وصلى الله وسلم وبارك على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين

Quote

#EidMubarak! Ramadan is over and today is #Eid - the Muslim holiday celebrating the end of the Ramadan Holy month. #ma3mool (#معمول) cookies traditionally celebrate the end of the month in the Middle East. These soft, flavor cookies are usually stuffed with dates or sweet walnuts and topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Different countries and families use different molds or methods to decorate the cookies before they are baked. Nothing beats my mom's home made #mamool cookie made with patience and love. This year, a new 'pinched' design was used to decorate some of the cookies. #Eid2017 #ramadan2017 #ramadanblog #eidalfitr #middleeastern #cookies #homemade #dates #fujixt20 #palestinian #arabic #muslimholiday
