Celebrating Rama!

Ayodhya waited for fourteen years for the return of Rama from exile. The Hindus have waited for 493 long years for Lord Rama to return to a respectable home- A Mandir dedicated to him! Rama has been an innate part of our culture and tradition. 

Such is Rama infused into our lives that many people use Rama’s name as a salutation like, “Ram Ram Ji”, “Jai Shri Ram!”,  “Jai Siya Ram!”, “Ram Ram sa!”,  “Sai Ram!”

Rama’s life was full of strife, hardship and sacrifice. Even Sita’s life was no less strife-ridden. But, both of them always upheld the cause of Dharma and duty. Their character and persona are truly worth emulating. 

India has a history of being oppressed by Muslim invaders for years. They mowed down our temples and universities etc. Later the British ruled us. Even after Independence the Hindus have been fighting for the Ram Janmbhoomi. 

The British created a mindset wherein people who could not speak or read English were looked down upon. They made fun of our religious and cultural traditions. They created a mindset that Indian clothes, food, games, festivals, language etc. were all backward and for the illiterate only. The British made us feel that we were inferior to them. Indian scholars like Aryabhatta, Kanada, Chanakya, Sushruta etc. have never been glorified. 

Thankfully the mindset of our people has started changing.The latest discovery the world has made about the wisdom in Indian traditions is the ‘Namaskaar’. In COVID everyone stays at arm’s length from each other. Gone are the days of greeting with hugs and kisses. Now the world is doing Namaskaar! The word ‘Namaskaar’ or ‘Namaha- sakaar’ literally means, I bow to the Divine immanent in you. It also ensures that there is no contact hence no transfer of germs! Suddenly the Indian way is being recognized as worthy of being emulated! 

It has taken almost 500 years to be able to start making the Mandir for the Lord who means so much to us! Since many years ‘Ram Lalla’ was housed in a temporary tent like structure. My late father-in-law Balramji Dass Tandon had visited Ayodhya some years ago. He wept seeing Ram Lalla housed in a structure that was inappropriate to say the least. I remember him saying that he felt ashamed that we live in a bungalow, while our Lord lives in a tent! He prayed that the Mandir would be made soon. Like him, many people in fact many generations, have come and gone. They have struggled, prayed and fought for the making of the Ram Mandir. 

After a long and bumpy trial, the Supreme Court gave the verdict that the Ramjanm Bhoomi was actually ‘Ram-Janm-Bhoomi’! Sometimes the solution is there in the riddle itself!!!

The Foundation stone of the Ram Mandir shall be laid by the Prime Minister, on August 5th. The Bhoomipooja will be attended by about 200 people. The temple will be 161 feet high and constructed in the Nagara style of architecture. It will have five Domes. The construction would be done in three years. It is said that a time capsule will be placed 2000 feet under the Ram Temple. This is for those interested in its History. It would also ensure that in future if any dispute comes up, the history of the temple and all facts will be available in it, to prove that this is where Rama was born. The writings would be done on copper plates so that they stay good for posterity. 

Holy water is being brought from many sacred rivers for the Bhoomipoojan. Soil is being brought in from many places of pilgrimage. Prayers are going to be offered and obeisance is going to be paid to the five elements.

The country is abuzz with excitement and exhilaration over it. I pray that Rama-Rajya will soon be a reality. I pray for a country where there is justice for all and morality is ingrained in each one of us.

May the Rama Mandir be unifying factor where all of us realize the great life lessons taught by Rama. His life was his message. 

And while the temple construction is being started at Ayodhya, do give this a thought- Do make a little Mandir in your house. It could be in a room, or on a table or even a shelf or on a window sill, where you can place a picture or an idol of God. The form of God could be Rama or Krishna or Sai Baba or any other… for they are all the same. And if you cannot find any place for making in niche for the Lord, then try to clear the clutter in your heart and install Him there! And if even that is not possible, then as you do Namaskaar, try to visualize Him in everyone!

Babri demolition anniversary: All eyes on Ayodhya as Hindu outfits plan events

AYODHYA: As the crucial 2019 Lok Sabha elections are near, the temple town of Ayodhya has become the cynosure of all eyes with the December 6 Babri Masjid demolition anniversary likely to act as a political potboiler. Days after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organised 'Dharam Sabha' in Ayodhya to seek support for construction of a grand Ram temple, the ring-wing outfit will observe 'Shaurya Diwas' on December 6 to be followed by Gita Jayanti celebrations on December 18. Gita Jayanti marks the advent of Bhagavad Gita, the sacred text of Hindus. "Shaurya Diwas (which marks the demolition of Babri Masjid) will be traditionally celebrated. In Ayodhya, VHP along with various Hindu organisations are likely to hold a number of religious programme, including 'hawan', so that a grand temple of Lord Ram is built in Ayodhya," VHP spokesperson in Ayodhya, Sharad Sharma said. 2018 marks the completion of 26 years of demolition of Babri Masjid. "Special prayers will be offered to Goddess Saraswati so that she can help the people, especially politicians, in removing any obstruction in the path of construction of Ram temple," Sharma said. "Sarva baadha mukti hawans (hawans seeking to get rid of all obstructions) will be held. Tributes will also be paid to the 'karsewaks' who faced the bullets," he said. Elaborating further, the VHP leader said similar Dharam Sabha was scheduled to be held in Delhi on December 9 in which over 5 lakh people are likely to participate. "On January 31 and February 1, we are going to organise 'Dharam Sansad' in Prayagraj in which more than 5,000 seers from across the country will participate. Seers from southern states and north-eastern states will be specially invited," the VHP spokesperson said. Dharam Sansad will deliberate upon Ram temple, cow protection and River Ganga, he said. "Social harmony will be another issue on which detailed discussions will be held," Sharma said. "Through the Dharam Sabha, we were able to send a message that the Hindu society wants a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya," he said, adding the road map of the next course of action will be finalised during the 2019 Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Mahant Ramdas of Nirmohi Akhara said around 500 prominent ashrams of the temple town will be illuminated with lamps on December 6. "We will celebrate the day as Shaurya Diwas as it was on this day Ram Janmabhoomi was 'liberated' from a Mughal structure. We will light ghee lamps at around 500 prominent ashrams of the temple town to celebrate the day," he said. At a Dharam Sabha organised in Ayodhya on November 25, Nritya Gopaldas, president of the Ram Janmbhoomi Nyas, had said, "Such a large attendance shows how much people are attached to the Ram temple". "We respect the courts. We have great hopes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. I request Adityanath to pave the way for the construction of Ram temple," he said. Ram Bhadracharya, a Hindu seer, claimed that he had spoken to a senior Union minister last month and was told that Ram devotees would not be deprived of their deity's temple in Ayodhya. The minister told us that once the model code of conduct comes to an end after the declaration of results of the ongoing Assembly polls, the prime minister will take a decision on the issue by opting for the ordinance route, he said. The year 2017, which marked the completion of 25 years of demolition of Babri Masjid, had seen heavy security deployment in the twin towns of Faizabad and Ayodhya, as the VHP and Bajrang Dal observed 'Shaurya Diwas' (Day of Valour) while Muslim organisations observed 'Yaum e Gham' (Day of Sorrow). This year too, the Faizabad administration has made heavy security deployment in the two towns. Police along with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed in the sensitive localities of Ayodhya and Faizabad. The resolution taken by a woman from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, for the construction of Ram temple is now going to be fulfilled.

81-year-old #UrmilaChaturvedi, a resident of #Jabalpur, vowed that after the disputed structure collapsed 28 years ago, she will not accept food until the construction of the #RamTemple begins and now when #Bhoomipujan is going to be done for the construction of the Ram temple on August 5. Urmila sees her resolve fulfilled.

Urmila Chaturvedi was 53 when the structure collapsed in 1992. When there were riots in the country after the collapse of the structure, Urmila had taken a pledge that on the day the construction of the temple would start with the consent of everyone, she would take food.

According to ancient texts, #Shanidev has attained the best position among the Navagrahas through devotion and penance to #LordShiva.

At one time, when #Suryadev went near his wife #Chhaya for conception, Chhaya was frightened by the fierce intensity of the sun and closed his eyes. Later, Shanidev was born from the womb of Chhaya. Seeing the black color (black color) of Saturn, Sun (सूर्य देव) accused his wife Chhaya that Shani is not my son, since then Saturn (शनि) has enmity with his father Surya.

- Nine of these are the major Nidhi ... Ratna Kirit, Keur, Nupur, Chakra, Rath, Mani, Bharya, Gaja, and Padma

- #Kubera also has nine Nidhi but is unable to give them to anyone else.

- Kubera has nine Nidhi - Padya, Mahapadya, Shankh, Makara, Kachhap, Mukund, Kund, Neel and Kharva.

Lord Shiva is present as omnipresent, pure consciousness, strength and fundamental substance in parashakti perfection. Lord Shiva is the size of Parashakti in fullness but in formless perfection he is formless.
