insane morcia/ralvez au show rewrite that @handcoversheart-76​ and i came up with nearly out of the blue

3x09 “penelope” first establishes a romantic connection between penlope and derek as they (canonically) say “i love you” to each other and everything... but nothing happens, leaving viewers rabid 

throughout the next few seasons, penelope & derek maintain their tension and flirting (aka their canon relationship. nothing changes 😐)  

fast forward to 8x04 “god complex” where it’s revealed that spencer’s phone booth love affair is with luke and blake gives him the “why are you being so ambiguous? you're not using any words like him or her” talk 

the rest of season 8 contains snapshots of spencer talking to luke but the dangers of their jobs repeatedly prevents them from meeting even through they try to several times

and finally something drastic happens on luke’s end from his job on the fugitive task force that makes spencer think he’s dead (hotch might know that luke is alive but is keeping it a secret just like with emily death? who knows how the fbi grapevine works but IN ANY CASE luke’s “death” is sus but he’s still technically “dead” to the viewers)

so........ heartbreak </3 and the viewers aren’t happy

9x12 “the black queen” what INFURIATES me about morcia is that i don’t even need to elaborate or stretch canon to make it SEEM CANON THEY’RE JUST LIKE THAT ALREADY but anyway 

that moment where penelope finally confronts her past and proves to everyone she’s the baddest bitch and derek tells her he doesn’t care about what other people think about their relationship (in reference to Some Guy that was antagonizing penelope earlier and the workplace sexual harassment seminar lskjgjsdfgh) 

then they confess their feelings....... For Real this time............... make the scene serious and tender in parallel to that earlier-mentioned one scene in “penelope” to REALLY hit it home

WE’VE WON <3

snapshots of cute things like derek and penelope being in an apartment together, domestic bickering, driving to work together.......penelope absolutely gets along with derek’s dog clooney and goes all out for him all the time

derek stays in the bau <3 

flash forward to season 12, “the crimson king,” where luke is assisting the bau on the side in apprehending the escaped serial killers—the explanation for him being alive is that luke needed to do a lot of undercover operations as a part of the task force and needed to cut off all outside ties to him for a couple years (plausible considering the first look of luke we have is him undercover)

spencer doesn’t know that luke is assisting the bau, only that there are other fbi agents are involved in the case, and luke wants to keep it that way so that spencer doesn’t get hurt

BUT considering everything with mr. scratch and hotch needing someone who had luke’s skillset in the field, luke realizes that catching scratch is bigger than any of them and besides... Everyone’s™ been wanting a reunion so...... luke joins the team

and the first words out of luke's mouth makes spencer stop in his tracks

imagine he makes a face that’s a cross between these two pics 

hm :) 

a LOT of angst but healthy communication has them working it out in the end and they’re the sappiest couple ever... rambly spencer + hearteyes luke is <33333

at some point in this season, derek and penelope decide to leave the bau together because they DESERVE to have a happy life away from the bureau (especially penelope, who despite loving her found family, deserves to have the freedom she didn’t originally have when she joined), maybe even get a family and home for themselves <3 

the prison arc never happens and the show ends with the season 12 finale where they finally catch scratch no needs to drag that shit out

criminal minds becomes the coolest show ever. executive producer mark gordon where are my show license rights
