soooo you gonna rebrand your blog or keep the p4 stuff? also if ya were gonna rebrand what kinda thoughts do ya have?

I mean....this blog was always a "random" blog, not dedicated to one Fandom per-se. Persona was/is my mainstay fixation. (this blog used to have a title of "welcome to my random world" cause I was like 17? and I didn't know what to do? and it was just going to be *~lol 2010s random~* ksaljdfklaj but I think a Tumblr update deleted it u_u)

I did let Korrasami run it's course here for a good while (might go back to that). But when it came to Frozen, "The fandom that must not be named lest I feel judged for it/my tastes", or Addams family/Wednesday (tho I have posted some stuff here) I went and made other blogs to brain dump there instead of here.

I'm probs gonna still talk about Persona/MegaTen, but I'm gonna focus on stuff from this point in time and into the past. I might get game pass for a month and finish the Answer there to get my views on it (so I can at least judge it for what it is). I might even switch heavily to Xbox to avoid paying Persona/Atlus directly (I dunno I wanna do some research on that first).

I'm aiming to only buy their games preowned from now on to avoid giving them money directly.

Atlus is going to have to pull a big "win back the crowed" for me to come off this game boycott.

Anyway, if you start seeing other stuff on here don't be surprised. I might do some metas on Addam's Family/Wednesday/Wenclair on here rather than the other blog.

Frozen, Naruto/Boruto, Far Cry 5, Atla/Korra, and Ju-On/Grudge/Ringu might be another since those are some main-stay recent ones. Maybe if I get more into the Locked Tomb series too (still on that 1st book flksadjfkja).

Just me nerding out about fragrances

I was asked about the scents I picked for the fragrances I use on my letters/the other sents I came up with, so I decided to make a whole document nerding out about my thought process behind each one XD I might come up with a few more in the future, I'll put a "keep reading" so this post doesn't clog your timeline because it's VERY long XD

EMPEROR'S COVEN

Scent description : 

This is what I imagine the castle/Philip to smell like - it's the scent I use for the first couple letters I send with Etsy orders. It’s not too overpowering, it’s fairly calming and reminds me a little bit of scents from old historical buildings.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

Incense is often used in churches, which I thought would be pretty fitting for the character, especially considering the castle is, well, a coven ahah. The incense scent also has notes of sandalwood, which according to google "Because of sandalwood's purifying properties, it is believed to help clear negative energy from our surroundings. For this reason, spiritual ceremonies often use it to create a sacred space." Considering Belos says he wants to purify the isles from wild magic, this seemed to fit his vibe too (Obviously I don’t agree with this, but I was trying to pick scents that would be fitting the vibes of specific locations, so I tried my best to represent them the way they were intended to be portrayed, if that makes sense !). "Library" scent was because I can see the castle having a lot of these, Philip seems to be the kind to enjoy books a lot. The scent also has undertones of leather, dark musk and teakwood which I thought were scents that could go well with the castle too. For the "sage and cypress" cents, I found on google "Sage is also a symbol of protection, a guardian that stands sentinel against unseen forces that may seek to disrupt one's state of balance.", and that also fits the way Philip portrays his coven, where everything is always in order etc. The cypress tones were mostly because the castle is surrounded by a forest, but cypress also represents "everlasting life" and is also "used in rituals with the dead", also very fitting for the character ! "Golden Santal" had a really fitting name because of the gold part, cedar also represents "protection, wisdom and strength", lavender is told to have calming properties (and Philip often has a calm demeanour), amber and musk also contribute to those castle vibes.

GRAVESFIELD

Scent description : 

This smells a little like after it rained outside, and has a sort of sad/gloomy vibe to it.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

"Rainy Morning" is a scent I wanted to use because rain seems to have significance to Philip, but also because rain scents can give a kind of sad/gloomy feeling, which I thought would be pretty fitting for 1600s Gravesfield "Noble pine" is a scent I picked because the town was surrounded by a lot of forest areas, Incense was used for the same reason as it was in the Emperor's coven scent, because church was very present in Gravesfield at the time. Sandalwood is "Said to bring people closer to the divine, inciting calmness and clearing the mind, it is the most commonly used incense for meditation, prayer, and other spiritual practices across multiple religions.", which also felt fitting for the town.

PEACEFUL MEMORIES

Scent description : 

It smells really really sweet, it has a very “cheerful” and floral vibe to it.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

This scent isn't something I imagined a specific area to smell like, but was more meant to represent a certain mood, when I made it I was thinking about the good memories Philip and Caleb would have when they used to play as kids. Firewood is a scent I picked because I imagined this is what they used a lot to cook, and the scent also has undertones of sandalwood and incense. Even tho in that case the religious memories aren't the best for him, I thought that since these scents would have been a huge part of their upbringing, it would still bring memories of home. Moonflower is a scent I picked for two reasons, one of them was that during my research, I found "Moonflower is an essence that supports the heart in healing deep wounds of abandonment, rejection or betrayal.", which is probably what both of them felt when they lost their family (parents), but also being outcast by the town, and then how Philip specifically felt like when Caleb left. But the main other thing I found while looking it up was "Since they bloom in the darkness, moonflowers are also symbols of the ability of beauty to emerge in dark times. They can provide hope for people who are going through tough times and encourage them to seek positivity.", and I thought this was extremely fitting regarding the two brothers trying to make the best of their lives in a dark town like Gravesfield. Red roses can have many meanings, but in that specific context, I was thinking of "On a spiritual level, red roses symbolise passion and sacrifice.", so I was thinking about Caleb sacrificing his own childhood to raise his little brother. Red roses are known to represent love, but in that context I was definitely thinking of it in a familial sense. "Noble Pine" was meant to reference their time playing together in the woods.

LORD BELOS

Scent description : 

It has a strong smell of spices, like if you walked in an old caravan and a lot of spices had been left to dry there.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

This scent was specifically thought of in the context of the caravan I designed for Philip's preacher era, aka what I imagined the inside smelling like. "Mountain Mist" was definitely a reference to the outdoors, him travelling through mountains and snow from town to town. Sage and cypress are there for the same reason as they are in the Emperor's Coven scent, I was thinking of Philip seeing his quest as "bringing order", plus this is a very woodsy scent, and the caravan is mostly made out of wood. For Smoked Oud, I read "Eastern culture often uses Oud during moments of prayer with the aim of getting close to God. The extremely intense smell is linked to the sacred, in fact oud is called “the wood of the Gods” in the Old Testament." I imagined Philip burning a lot of incense-like scents in the caravan as if to remind himself why he was pursuing his "holy quest" as he would see it, the general "Lord Belos" fragrance has a very "spicy" smell which I found fitting for that. "Frosted Juniper" is mostly there because I wanted the woodsy sent to be really present and also have a "winter-y" feel because of the snow we see in the preacher era memory flashback.

PREACHER

Scent description : 

It’s definitely not a sweet scent, it’s very citrus-y with a lot of forest type scents (think if you get really close to a pine tree for example)

Thoughts behind the scent : 

This one is more of a "vibe" scent than a location scent, I was trying to think of the mood from his preacher era. "Firewood" definitely had to be in there because of the burning cities, "woodland snow" was there for the snowy landscapes. "White Birch" also has Eucalyptus notes which is often associated with winter, and Pine and Cypress both have the same sylbols as mentioned in previous paragraphs, but Philip seemed to travel through a lot of forest-like areas, so  wanted the woodsy scent to be very present too. Sandalwood as mentioned above was used a lot in religious ceremonies and incense, it also has undertones of "amber" and "dark musk", and I wanted to make sure this scent didn't really smell "sweet" in any way.

BEAST

Scent description : 

It smells like mossy wet dirt, it doesn’t have any “perfume” type scent to it. It’ll really smell like it just rained and you opened the window very wide.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

I know there are a lot of different interpretations of what Philip's beast form would smell like, some think it would be more like rotting flesh and some think it would be more like moss-type scents.

Personally I went with the moss interpretation (I felt like if the smell was as bad as rotting flesh we would have seen characters like Luz react to that when standing close to him, but there was no indication of that), and his curse spreading also seemed very plant/mushroom like. I also didn't want to create a scent that was fully repulsive because no one would want to smell it ahah

But in any case, with that explanation out of the way, the "cut grass" and "rainy morning" scents are there for that exact reason. Cedarwood is there because cedar, at least to me, has a very "dusty" kind of smell - I wanted to have some kind of woodsy scent that wouldn't be too floral in the mix, and Leather is there because I have some leather fragrances of my own, and I wanted something a little stronger that would balance out the other "peaceful" scents like cut grass. (Plus, the leather scent also has undertones of incense, so that was a bonus too ahah)

The scents after this one are more of "vibe scents" I created that aren't reflective of a specific moment from the show, so you can see those are more of my own things. (I picked the scents for every category, I meant more in the sense that these are my own original scenes/vibes ideas).

HOME

Scent description : 

It has a VERY overpowering smoky scent. Think if you just walked in the old Wittebane house but the window had been left opened and there had been fire outside. If you get it in candle form it won’t come off as strong as in pure fragrance form, but definitely think old medieval type outdoor house instead of modern time house.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

I wanted to have a scent vibe for what I could "home" smelling like for Philip. Library definitely had to be in there because Philip most likely enjoyed books and writing a lot, "Lush Linen" was because of the other fancy clothes he owns, like waistcoat etc, and I find the smell of linen very clean, enjoyable and calming. (Tho the more peaceful scents are first definitely overpowered by the smoky scent, you can only pick up on those when the scent settles a bit, if that makes sense). It also has undertones of white tea in the scent description, and I can definitely see him as a tea person. Lavender embers is a little different from the lavender scent I used in "Peace" later, but lavender is also calming, and "smoke" is a smell I thought would be fairly present in Gravesfield (mostly referring of people cooking over firewood outside). "Redwoods" is a very woodsy scent, and the outdoors would probably be a very home-y feel as well (more in the sense that it would seem familiar to someone from that time period rather than what a current home would smell like).

FREE

Scent description : 

It has a very floral and outdoors type scent, but it doesn’t smell as overpoweringly sweet the way “peaceful memories” does, it gives me way calmer vibes.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

I was thinking of this as more of an AU type scent of, what if things had never gone bad, the moonflower scent is there for the same reason as it is in "Peaceful Memories" ("Moonflower is an essence that supports the heart in healing deep wounds of abandonment, rejection or betrayal.", which is probably what both of them felt when they lost their family (parents), but also being outcast by the town, and then how Philip specifically felt like when Caleb left. But the main other thing I found while looking it up was "Since they bloom in the darkness, moonflowers are also symbols of the ability of beauty to emerge in dark times. They can provide hope for people who are going through tough times and encourage them to seek positivity.") Incense usually has a church feel to it, but a lot of people also use it for things like meditation, and I find the smell very calming personally. Library definitely had to come back once again ahah

PEACE

Scent description : 

It’s a very soft and calming scent. When I smell it I really think “peace” ahah. You can definitely smell the lavender, it also has a very clean and fresh type smell.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

That one was more of a vibe scent as well. I'm guessing that back in Gravesfield, Philip had some moments to indulge in his hobbies such as writing, drawing, creating things in general. I was picked a lavender based scent because lavender has calming properties, tho the lavender scent doesn't feel too present to me. Library is there because I definitely picture him as a bookworm. The scent is super calming as a whole and something I love having around when I draw, probably one of my favorites actually ! Cedar and wood are also some undertone scents I could see him have in his old house.

WITTEBANE

Scent description : 

It has a very soft scent, very outdoors-like. You can smell some floral smells, it has a very mossy undertone.

Thoughts behind the scent : 

I know Violet can seem like a strange choice of scent, but I didn't want to re use too much of the other previous scents, and in my research I found a lot of little facts : Violets have a symbol of "faith and spiritual passion", there are also superstitions that "Carrying violets keep malevolent spirits at bay". Another interesting thing I found was "The ancient Romans gave the violet flower a sombre interpretation. They perceived the deep colour of the flower as an image of spilt blood while its soothing scent lent a peaceful aura to proceedings.".The color of (blue) violets also feels very similar to the Wittebane coat (my interpretation of that is that it belonged to their father, was then passed down to Caleb and then Philip). Saffron was also a scent undertone of the "Violet" fragrance, and saffron has a lot of spiritual meanings such as "being closer to the divine". Another meaning of saffron is "courage and sacrifice", which Caleb would have definitely went through for his brother. But even tho we know Philip didn't make the right choices, he probably saw himself as doing those exact same things for Caleb when he went after him to "save" him (since well, going to the demon realm was probably the same as going to actual Hell to someone from his era). Saffron is also a very expensive spice, and I felt like it was fitting to the vibe the Wittebane statue gives off (considering the clothes they are represented with, even tho we know they had a very difficult upbringing). Leather is another scent that I liked being used as an undertone, because it balances out the floral sweetness a little. "Redwoods" is there mostly because growing up surrounded by the forest is a big part of the characters, so I wanted a woodsy smell to be very present. Cedar, Moss and Embers also balance out the rest of the scents.

✨APRIL/MAY LISTENS✨

hi i’m back, i’ve just finished my degree and do not have enough of a brain to write an in-depth of anything. but! here’s some of what i’ve been shoving in my earholes for the past month, in no particular order.

The Magnus Protocol — (season 1 ongoing) continues to blow my fucking mind. the sound design/music combo for this series is of particular note, it really just… mwah. elevates the text so much for me. i also continue to be impressed by how well this works as both a standalone series and as a delicious trail of candy for those of us who loved Archives. we’re halfway through s1 now and all i can think about is alice dyer.

Beef and Dairy Network — (ongoing @ 109 eps) a partially improvised absurdist comedy pod set in a world that is bizarrely obsessed with beef. my qpp listened to one episode and called it “distilled british humor” which feels… correct. i’ll be real, i’m actually mad at myself for not getting into this one sooner, but on the other hand having a long binge of it has been divine. i would kill to go to one of their live shows.

The White Vault — (5 seasons, 10 eps apiece) not including goshawk because i’ve barely started on that. but the main series… woah! god, i totally didn’t think this was going to be my thing but i could not put it down? the first season is definitely slower than i usually prefer but the characters kept me hooked and by season 3 the narrative completely took over my brain. i also love how well they sold the found audio format, it WORKS. gold fucking star, highly recommend.

Jackie the Ripper — (3 seasons, 5 eps apiece) put this one aside for a rainy day and binged it all at once. deeply wish there was more of it. it’s a raunchy crime drama with a downtrodden detective at the helm who i SWORE i wouldn’t root for but ended up doing so anyway. do recommend! if it sweetens the pot, the protag has the same VA as watson in the currently popular Sherlock & Co.

The Mistholme Museum — (6 seasons, soon to be complete) people have been recommending this to me for years and i just never got around to it, but on the bright side — it was an incredible binge. anthologies aren’t my strong suit but i found the framing device really strong and, crucially, it develops a meta plot that balances really well. biggest strength for me was the narrator, but i can’t explain why without spoiling some key plot developments. just trust me.

Wake of Corrosion — (4 seasons, final ongoing) very cool apocalyptic suspense/horror. i initially loved this show for the dynamic between the two leads, who are brothers trying to reconnect on a solitary camping trip when the world decides to go wonky. i ended up loving the worldbuilding as well. final episode drops very soon.

Neon Inkwell: The Pit Below Paradise — (miniseries, ongoing) this one has a bit of a western vibe and heavy religious/culty overtones, which isn’t my favorite genre. but i think each of the main characters has been developed really well thus far. + many fun cameos from members of the production team, those are really fun to try and spot :)

Twits: A Steampunk Distraction — (2 seasons, 5 eps apiece) very silly comedy of errors from the pov of a bumbling aristocrat. can’t say too much without giving the end of s1 twist away. i highly recommend it if you’re looking for some lighthearted listening. the ending credits are also very cute.

Planet Arcana — (ongoing @ 71 eps) i’m so bad at TTRPGs but this one has such a unique setting, i’m just captivated. tarot-flavored sci-fi adventure for anyone interested. i’ve made it through the first arc and the party has already experienced a crazy amount of development; stoked to see what happens next.

Selene — (ongoing) anthology about a spooky little town with a vintage vibe. single narrator, quite talented. i’m not always easily invested in anthologies but the narrator here really sells it for me, and (!) i think he writes children — both their thought processes and dialogue — very realistically. which is my grandest compliment.

Camp Here & There — (s1 complete @ 33 eps, hiatus?) i put off listening to this for a rainy day because i’d heard nothing but rave reviews and they weren’t lying. this is quite literally the ONLY pod i’ve come across that completely captures the same magic that WTNV did for me on first listen. the creator is kinda going thru it so idk if s2 is going to happen but i really hope so. even if not, s1 is very worth listening to. it’s wacky and sinister and i just love the narrator, it’s hard not to.

We’re Alive: Scout’s Honor — (8 ep miniseries, complete) imagine WA from the perspective of some awkward tweenagers. what’s not to love? the gore is really heightened by each characters’ stage of emotional development. i especially loved the conclusion but i won’t spoil it here ;)

Among the Stars and Bones — (2nd season ongoing) sci-fi drama with a solid first season, really nice narrative tie-up, but the second season was SUCH a glow-up nonetheless! + the most memorable karim kronfli performance of all time IMHO.

A = Admiration (what do they absolutely adore about you?)

Your connection to nature/the valley. Leah is all about simple, healthy living. And she loves that your actions reflect the things she views as most important: hard working, living off the land, homemade healthy food, caring for animals, and raising a family.

B = Body (what is their favorite part of your body?)

Your hands. No matter the size, your hands are on the stronger/rougher side due to farming, mining, and building all day. And she loves it. She loves the way it feels when your strong hands grab her hips or hold her waist. It makes her feel so secure and safe. 

C = Cuddling (how do they like to cuddle?)

Little spoon, or resting her head on your chest while your lying on your back. She also loves to sit on your lap during movie nights. 

D = Dates (what does their ideal date with you look like?)

Since most of your time is spent doing your own thing outside the house, i feel like dates would lean towards more involving you in her interests or blending the both of yours together. 

Picnic in the woods, painting the sunset near the beach tidepools, relaxing on Ginger Island with a pina colada, movie nights on rainy days, dancing and having some wine at the Saloon, camping in the secret woods, new restaurants during your trips to her home city, or having some alone time in the bath house ;)

E = Emotions (how do they express emotion around you?)

She’s usually very straight forward and emotionally mature. She’ll tell you exactly what she feels, especially if you two are having an argument. Clear communication is important to her. Of course there will be times she may just blow up or give you the silent treatment (pretty much only if she finds out you gave another woman a gift) but you’ll always make up before bed.

F = Family (do they want one? If they do, when?)

I honestly feel like she could go either way. If you don’t want kids, she’s perfectly fine with that! You have barns full of animals and a cat/dog anyway. But if you do want a child or two, she’s also happy with that. If you have to adopt, i could see her leaning towards having a girl preference (imo she gives girl-mom vibes). If you’re able to get her pregnant though, she’ll obv be happy either way. But since she has to carry the baby, she’ll only want one, maybe two, kids.

G = Gifts (how do they feel about gift giving? What are their habits when it comes to this?)

She enjoys giving and receiving gifts. I wouldn’t go as far to call it a major love language for her (i HC her love language to be acts of service), but if she sees something that reminds her of you, she’ll get it. She also isn’t very materialistic herself. So i can imagine she doesn’t really expect or crave getting gifts. Though she’ll never complain about receiving a new plant or art supplies :0)

H = Holding Hands (when/how do they like to hold hands?)

Anytime. She loves holding your hand, it’s such a small but intimate act of love. You’ll always hold hands during your nature walk and walks into town. During romantic dinners, she likes to reach over and gaze into your eyes while gently stroking your hand with her thumb. Or when going to bed. If you’re spooning her, you’d hold hands under the pillow in front of her face.

I = Injury (how would they act if you got hurt?)

Her initial reaction is panic. Heart racing, hand shaking, feeling that rush of icy cold fear shoot through her body. 

But as soon as she realizes you’ll be just fine, she relaxes a bit and goes right into nurse mode. Cleaning the wound, getting you pain killers, wrapping up anything needed, or in the worst case, rushing you to Harvey’s clinic. 

And once you’re better, she does not hesitate to scold you for being so careless lol.

J = Jokes (do they like to joke around with or prank you? how?)

Pranks aren’t really her thing. Her jokes are more in the moment. Like if you or a friend said something funny, she’d quickly build off of it and make the joke 10x funnier. She also loves a good cheesy pun. The more eyeroll-inducing it is for you, the better.

K = Kisses (how do they like to kiss you?)

Quick peck on the lips before your work day begins. Deep, passionate kisses after getting in bed for the night. Nose kisses while dancing at the Luau. Kisses on the cheek as a form of pda. 

L = Love (how do they show you they love you?)

Acts of service! Repairing fences around the farm, watering the cat/dog, feeding the barn animals or cleaning their pens, making breakfast and dinner, helping keep the house tidy, helping with the crops, etc… 

M = Memory (favorite memory together?)

The day you met. She honestly cherishes it more than your first date, proposal, or wedding day. Not to say she doesn’t value those days, but she considers your first meet to be especially close to her heart because it was essentially the beginning of your relationship. 

N = Nightmare (what is their worst fear?)

You dying or nearly dying in the mines/in combat. She hates when you go to mines and volcano because she dreads the idea of getting a call from Harvey that you’ve been in an accident. 

O = Oddity (what is one quirk they have?)

Snorts when she laughs really hard.

P = Pet Names (what do they like to call you?)

Feminine Partner: gorgeous, dove, sweetheart.

Masculine Partner: handsome, big guy, darling.

Either: dear, love, hun. 

Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?)

Deep talks on the couch, cleaning together, candle-lit bubble baths, sitting on porch and daydreaming, foraging in the mountains, breakfast in bed, cooking your favorite foods together for dinner.

R = Rhythm (what song reminds you of them?)

S = Secrets (how open are they with you?)

Leah’s an open book, i can’t really imagine there’s anything she’d keep from you. Maybe just little white lies? Like if you got her a gift she didn’t really like, but didn’t HATE either. Or if you loved a certain dress or shirt you had, but she hated the pattern.

T = Time (how long did it take you to get together?)

At least a year, probably closer to two. She likes to take things slowly and enjoy the “getting to know eachother” stage. Especially because Kel was toxic, she wouldn’t want to just jump into something and end up getting her heart broken again.

U = Upset (how do they act when you’re upset?)

Very comforting. If you’re okay with it, she’d love to hold you, talk about it, and bring you your favorite snack. But if your the type who prefers to be alone, she’ll give you space while periodically checking up on you. 

V = Vaunt (what are they proud of? Do they like to show you off?)

Obv very proud of her artwork, she loves showing you every new piece she makes. I don’t think she would show you off though. She’s very low-key, and Elliot is her only friend in town anyway. Of course she’ll make sure everyone knows your together (to keep anyone from trying to flirt with you) but she see’s no reason to make a spectacle of it considering everyone in town will you together almost daily anyways. 

W = Warrior (how do they feel about you fighting? Would they fight for you, beside you, etc?)

Leah does NOT like it when you have to go fighting in the mines. She really wishes you would leave the monster hunting to Rasmodius and Marlon. But would SHE fight for you? Oh absolutely. I could see her being a defensive, quick-tempered person in the heat of the moment. 

I don’t think she’d go in the mines though. But more so she’d fight another person for you if need be. You saw how she punched her ex to stand her own ground. Now imagine if someone was making you, the love of her life, upset or uncomfortable. Hands are being thrown without question. She may be a very kind and relaxed person, but don’t mistake that for being passive and timid. 

X = X-Ray (how well are they able to read you?)

Like a book. Leah is incredibly intuitive and observant. She can easily sense a change in your energy or demeanor. If you have a hard time expressing negative emotions, she’ll feel the shift but might not say anything. She’d be more likely to do an act of service for you or give you a gift, just so you know she’s there and you can feel comfortable talking to her.

Basically her 10-heart event. On a warm spring day, she’d write you a letter inviting you to the woods for a suprise. When you get to the meeting spot, you see a table with a beautiful spread of homecooked food waiting. 

Starfruit wine on ice. A salad with Pierre’s fresh veggies, topped with goat cheese from Marnie, and sliced truffle. A loaf of french bread with seasoned truffle oil for dipping. A whole, small baked carp with sliced lemon. And two glazed poppyseed muffins for dessert.

While you were eating, you both reminiced about early memories of your relationship, told funny stories from eachothers past, daydreamed about the future, and caught up on todays events. Taking breaks from talking to admire the other and hold hands.

Eventually the meal was finished. The scent of pollen in the air was heavy as pink petals danced past your face and landed on the table. Leah had eventually migrated to your side of table, resting her head on your shoulder as you both looked out at the forest and small stream running just a couple feet in front of you. The silence between you was apparent, but comforting. 

“Y/N,” she began as she lifted her head up, looking you in the eyes. “When you first moved to Pelican Town, i honestly never expected anything would happen between us.”

She took your hand in hers and continued. “I was still a bit hesitant about getting into a  relationship, after what happened with Kel.” Leah paused for moment and smiled. “But after a couple months of getting to know you, i started feeling something i’d never felt for anyone”

She shifted to sit in front of you, both of your faces glowing with pure love and happiness. “Y/N… what im trying to say is,” she reached into her overall pocket and pulled out a long, velvet white box. “I love you… Will you marry me?” Leah giggled and teared up as she opened the box and revealed a sparkling blue shell attached to a silver chain.

After you said yes, you brought eachother into a tight hug. Laughing and crying at the same time as you kissed passionately. It wasn’t the first time the two of you had kissed, but it almost felt like it. 

Things are going to be a bit different from now on…

oh hi there c: slapping a Read More because this also got a little long

we got the OG playlist, made this in October 2022. i also answered an ask about this playlist back in late 2022, here! this is just music that gives me Endless vibes. but to be honest, ive had comments about how the band gives off more goth rock or heavy metal or even something softer and more contemporary and... you know, that's totally cool. what they sound like in my head is not the end all and if the music on this playlist isn't your jam, Endless can be whatever you want them to be haha.

bobby loves taking you to pumpkin patches and corn mazes. his favorite thing is picking pumpkins for you to carve together and display on your front porch steps. he really loves decorating your home for fall. and when going through corn mazes, he loves walking hand in hand with you and figuring the way out together. afterwards, cups of hot cider or cocoa to warm up with are a must. the local maze you go to has delicious pumpkin donuts, and bob is a sucker for anything pumpkin, so of course, he has to buy two for you both to snack on during the drive home.

rhett's favorite time of year is fall. he hates the heat of summer, so when the weather begins to cool off, he thrives. outside work is more enjoyable, and he likes getting the house ready for the upcoming winter. he'll cut firewood ahead of time, he'll do any repairs on the house that can't be done in the cold. and after the work is done, the two of you are saddling up your horses and you're going off on the trails that line your property. rhett wears cozy flannels and his favorite carhartt jacket, and breaks out his felt hat. expect lots of nights spent by the fire outdoors, toasting marshmallows and snuggling up under fuzzy blankets. as long as rhett gets to snuggle you, he's more than content.

miles loves cozying up with you on chilly autumn nights, after a dinner of hearty soup. comfortable and warm on your couch, while you watch cutesy halloween movies. he doesn't like anything with gore or overly dark themes, so you'll watch something lighthearted like halloweentown or it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown (his personal favorite). both of you will wear matching fuzzy socks, and drink hot cocoa out of fall themed mugs. the lights are low, you have sweet scented candles burning, and miles just feels so safe and relaxed. he cherishes these kinds of nights with you.

harrison loves going for walks with you to admire the fall foliage. he likes warmer weather usually, because fall means the end of surfing season. but you love fall, so he, in turn, loves it too. he'll take you to the park or to a nature trail so you can walk hand in hand and admire all the colors. he'll pack soup and hot cider in thermoses so you can find a nice little park bench to sit on and enjoy the warm food and drink. he also loves the whole sleepy, autumnal town vibes. he'll take you to coffeeshops on rainy afternoons so you can try the fall themed coffee flavors. really, he just loves watching you enjoy your favorite season.

“While you’re at the job working nine to five, The Beastie Boys at the Gard-”

Your finger slams the radio off, car plowing into a spot behind the old brick building and coming to an abrupt halt. 

Coffee burns as it rushes over your tongue and down your throat, your fingers adjusting the hem of your skirt as you slip your keys into your bag and jog up the steps and inside the cool AC that’s already humming in overtime. Fuck, it was gonna be a day. 

The dimly lit hallway of Newby’s is a labyrinth and no easy feat for a beginner. The lights are basically non-existent and your boss, Keith, unloads shipments there. The narrow space is already cramped, and with the foam cups spilling out, reels, chords for arcade games, it is a precise and intricate dance from the back door to the staff room. At this point, you can sway and skip your way around it with your eyes closed, but on a morning like today, you’re simply not inclined to care. 

Your tennis shoe kicks at a box of popcorn buckets, knee smacking into something that you’re fairly certain is a butter shipment, due to the stains on the side of the cardboard, and a sharp and loud ‘mother-fucker’ leaves your lips. 

His voice calls from down the hall, “You’re late.”

Unwilling to give an ounce of satisfaction to him, you roll your shoulders back and step into the staff room, the faint smell of burnt pizza from an unfortunate microwave incident last summer still lingers in the fabric of the threadbare carpet and cheap couch. You ignore the boy laying on said couch and open your locker. 

Eddie pretends not to look at you, but his eyes roam up the back of your exposed legs, to the hem of your skirt and he swallows. Ignoring the way the slight rise of your work polo lifting and revealing a part of your midriff makes his stomach twist up. It’s when you slam your locker closed, curl a piece of loose hair around your ear and take a sip of coffee that he sees it and remembers. 

He shakes his head and stands, walking out of the room, “Late night?”

Your body heats up but you just smile at his profile, “Jealous, Munson?”

Eddie’s in his usual outfit. The black polo for the first day of summer, the black, ripped at the knees jeans, dirty white sneakers. It’s only when he stops in the doorway, turning back around to face you, that you see his face fully for the first time since last summer and your fingers adjust on your coffee cup. 

He seems taller, his jaw a little more angular, and you detect a slight scruff over it. His hands land on the frame, ringed fingers curling around the wood as he smirks, nodding at your shirt, “Nope. But you might want to cover that up.”

As he leaves with a whistle of a song that stirs something familiar in your brain, you spin and look in the mirror, whispering, “Shit.” The faintest little hickey blooms on your neck and is totally, one hundred percent, visible. 

You were gonna kill Steve Harrington. 

But that was a problem for a different day, because as the faint sounds of popcorn popping and the stereo begins to harmonize with arcade buzzes and whirs, you have to start your first day of your summer job. 

Newby’s was the first of Hawkin’s newly renovated downtown, a town favorite and bustling place when the Indianna summer heat reached insane temperatures. Keith had already given you a spiel about how the new waterpark was going to affect business and you and Eddie needed to be on better behavior than normal - especially if you wanted the manager promotion. 

Which you honestly weren’t sure what he was referring to in terms of “better behavior than normal”. There had only been one bucket of popcorn dumped on a head last summer, one Icee to the face, and only like, five, unofficial parties. 

But despite hating your co-worker, you really did love the job. You enjoyed the cool temp of the building and the dim lighting to soothe many a summer hangover. Free snacks and plenty of downtime, with good hours that left you with ample free time most evenings. Now, with three summer’s under your belt, you were determined to become the manager, and were certain you’d do a better job than Munson. 

Three summer’s of knowing the exact way the popcorn machine could be coaxed into a few more kernels without burning. The bump of your hip in a very precise spot to get the coins the pac man machine would eat, loose. The perfect time to refill salt shakers and napkin holders and run the Icee machine in the lull that came like clockwork before a rush.

But most importantly, you know how to make Eddie Munson tick, even with just a simple piece of bubblegum in your mouth. And sure, maybe it was immature to place the gum in your mouth as you rounded the corner and began the opening duties with him. Maybe it was childish, unprofessional, and not manager material to try to get him amped up already, but you missed seeing his ears turn red and that look flash across his brown eyes. Missed the way your stomach sort of swooped when he swallowed and your faces got close together when you started yelling at each other and-

The bright pink bubble pops loudly as you clean the second popcorn machine, Eddie sighs somewhere behind your shoulder. You relish in the grunt that follows when you snap it loudly across your teeth. Alternating between bubble and snap for the last five minutes.

Early morning light filters in through the small window that runs across the top of the blacked out doors, the movie theater and arcade dim with warm lighting and neon flashes that trick you into thinking it's cooler outside than it is.The trailer for the new action thriller coming in July harmonizes with the whir of a pinball machine, the clatter and cheer from a fake audience in the racing game home screen.

As you close the glass panel of the popcorn machine and hit start on a second batch, you turn with another bubble ready to pop. A pencil in his outstretched hand pokes it.

The sad pink glob deflates over the yellow wood and he smirks at your pout. You release the gum, letting it dangle off the pencil as you hiss, "You could have poked my fucking eye out, Munson."

"Damn," he whistles, motioning with the gummy pencil towards your lips, "Read my mind sweetheart, put this back in there and I'll try again."

Your spine prickles with a familiar heat as you place your hands on your hips. “What the hell is your problem?”

Eddie laughs, gesturing to his chest with the pencil, “My problem? Princess, you showed up late on our first fucking day with a hickey from Harrington and you’re already starting your get under Eddie’s skin on purpose shit with the gum…” He blinks at you, trailing off as you tilt your head to the side with narrowed eyes, “What?”

Your arms cross over your chest. “How’d you know it was from Steve?”

Eddie’s cheeks start to turn pale pink and he chucks the pencil in the garbage, gum and all and turns towards the registers, “I-I uh-”

The double doors swing open forcefully, making you both squint against the harsh light as several voices start yelling over each other. 

“La, la, la, la, can’t hear you,” Dustin Henderson sings as he puts his hands over his ears, beelining towards the arcade. 

Mike Wheeler is fast on his heel, shouting about something you can’t quite make out. Will Byers and Lucas Sinclair head towards the two of you with smiles that tell you they’re already up to no good and it’s only the first day of summer. 

Eddie shakes his head, “No. I know what you’re about to ask, no.”

Lucas places his hands into a prayer in front of his chest, “Eddie, Mr. Munson, if I can just have a minute of your time to tell you our very reasonable request and walk you through an opportunity that you are for sure wanna hear about.”

“You’re not getting free Icee’s. You know what you did.” Eddie points towards the arcade without another word and the two boys’ shoulders fall, turning on their heels. He calls out after them, “And why aren’t you all working? Little old to spend your day in the arcade still, isn’t it boys?”

The four old teens flip him off and then convene around Dragon Slayer, groaning as they look at the screen then over at him. He salutes with two fingers and they all raise two hands, double flipping him off.

I will die on the hill that chan is seattle coded. he just fits the grunge aesthetic so well, and after he performed smells like teen spirit in seattle it just solidified it for me. skz music definitely has some grunge influences so I think he would have gotten his start in the underground seattle music scene.

♡ lee know - new orleans, lousiana

where the weird and the mysterious thrive, so too would lee know. his entire vibe is dark and alluring on the outside but once you look past the exterior you see someone full of resilience, strength, and endless things to discover and to me that's very new orleans. since he makes such a charismatic host I feel like he'd be hosting walking tours through the fernch quarter where he can tell some ghost stories here and there and maybe give the tourists a little scare for his own entertainment.

if you say changbin isn't jersey coded you're lying to yourself. our loud, muscular king would fit in perfectly with the jersey gym and beach culture. I could see him going to the gym during the day and out to the clubs at night to shake his ass to his favorite songs with his friends.

okay follow me on this one, I know this sounds a little obscure but for some reason when I think of hyunjin as someone from the usa all I can think about is him living in some new england town painting the fall colors or sitting on his porch in a seaside home painting the ocean. it seems so peaceful and I feel like that suits him.

hanji is so nyc coded to me and since the maxident trailer lives rent free in my head, here we are. like imagine him living in a little new york apartment while he chases his music producer dreams. every night on his way home he pops into the bodega down the street to grab something to eat and gives their resident cat a few pets before heading home to work on more tracks in his home studio.

I feel like our aussie beach boy just needs to be somewhere warm and sunny with a good nightlife and let's be honest, miami is the place for that. he'd probably spend his days at the local dance studio before heading down the beach for a swim to relax after.
