5 REASONS TO WORKOUT IN THE RAIN

Motivation to workout often comes to a dramatic halt the moment you step out and realize it’s pouring rain. The sun was shining like two minutes ago! Thanks Montana **eye roll emoji**
But the truth is, there are actually some really great benefits to working out in the rain! So before you turn around and go back inside, you have to read these:
1. Burn More Cals
Exercising in the rain can make us work harder and burn more calories. On a daily basis, our bodies are already working to maintain a homeostatic temperature. Cold weather workouts tease the brain by warming us up and cooling us down at the same time, so we expend more energy in an effort to keep up.
3. Improve Mental Focus
It’s easy to get outside for some physical activity when birds are chirping and the sun is shining. Instead, challenge yourself with a workout in the rain. Colder weather can significantly improve mental strength and perseverance. It will make you feel more accomplished and motivate you to stick to a regular workout routine.
2. Feel Refreshed & Energized
A rainy run can boost energy and relieve stress. The fresh air and the cool temp make for a super refreshing workout session. You’ll finish feeling clean, rejuvenated, and ready to tackle the rest of your day.
4. Beat Boredom
Running inside is boring. When you’re bored during a workout, it can sometimes be the easiest way to cut it short. Lose the treadmill and take it outside, this way you’re more likely to finish what you started. Plan a route and take in the scenery. Besides, isn’t that the point of living in MT?
5. Reduce Risk of Sickness
A run outdoors in the cold air can help build tolerance and aid in the support of your body’s immune system. So you’re less likely to be fighting off that bed ridden illness while simultaneously trying to pass all your finals. Win win!
So next time you head out for a workout and feel that first drop hit your nose, persevere my friend! You’ll be glad you did.

StairNinja cardio stair climb on the Arch grand staircase at lunchtime on Friday. X60 up/down climbs plus a final sprint climb at the end in 7.5sec(59 steps from bottom to top) 7198 stairs climbed/Elevation gain - 1610 feet It was raining☔ a little but that didn't stop me from getting out and climbing my favorite set of stairs 💪👣 I took a few pics of the afterwords and the rain brings out all the weather scars it has on it.
