People tend to lump the Raimi goblin redesign in with the modern trend of watered-down militaristic villain costumes, which is fair, but-
this is some classic-era tokusatsu type costume design

It would make Raimi Spidey "comic-accuracy" arguments (both against and for) exponentially less irritating if it was more widely understood that many of its weird decisions are just working off of the 1610 Ultimate Spider-Man comics rather than the 616 ones
