The Government of Vietnam recently released a new Resolution that paves the Way for the start of the Construction of their new High Speed Railway by the end of next Year of 2026. Their "Ministry of Construction" will oversee the Process which includes completing the Comprehensive Feasibility Report by August of 2026.

The selection of Contractors, along with the completion of all Land Clearances will then be made by November of 2026, just before the start of Construction.

The new Railway Line will use High Speed Trains, be 1,541 km long and worth a staggering Usd 67 billion. It will connect the Northern and Southern Parts of their Country, and will run from Ngoc Hoi to Thu Thiem, passing thru 20 different Localities. Expected completion of the entire Line is expected to be made by 2035.

MY THOUGHTS: ‘Di bale, me beinte Pesos per kilo na Bigas na naman daw tayo ngayon sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Bangag’, LOL (No worries, we now have twenty Pesos per Kilo Rice now under the Leadership of the ‘Bangag’, LOL). So again, Vietnam keeps moving forward, continuing to leave us behind in its Dust.

Meanwhile instead of spending a lot more for Infrastructure Projects, the Government of Bong Bong Marcos (BBM) wants to buy two trillion Pesos worth of Arms instead to “fight China” …

Since 1995 the Museumrailway S.T.A.R. (Stichting Stadskanaal Rail) exploits the railwayline between Veendam, Stadskanaal en Musselkanaal with historical steamtrains. The 26 km long track follows the border between the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe in the northeast of the Netherlands. The Deutsche Reichsbahn's Class 52 was a German steam locomotive built in large numbers during the Second World War. With over 7,000 locomotives, built across Europe, it was the most produced type of the so-called Kriegslokomotiven or Kriegsloks (war locomotives). 6,000+ locomotives passed into Russian ownership after the Second World War. Other operators of the type included Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Norway and Turkey. The Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRB) in East Germany (DDR) had 200 machines, including 52 8060-7, reconstructed to the new DRB Class 52.80. Stoomlocomotief 52 8060-7 van museumspoorlijn S.T.A.R. vertrekt vanaf station Stadskanaal. Museumspoorlijn S.T.A.R. (Stichting Stadskanaal Rail) rijdt sinds 1994 met historische stoomtreinen en dieseltreinen tussen Veendam, Stadskanaal en Musselkanaal. De 26 km lange spoorlijn loopt langs de provinciegrens tussen Groningen en Drenthe. Stoomlocomotief 52 8060-7 uit 1943 is een van de ruim 7.000 locomotieven uit de Deutsche Reichsbahn's Class 52 die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog zijn gebouwd om oorlogsmaterieel te verplaatsen. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog zijn ruim 6.000 locs door Rusland als oorlogsbuit in gebruik genomen. De overige 1.000 locomotieven zijn door Polen, Roemenië, Bulgarije, Noorwegen, Turkije, en de DDR in gebruik genomen. The "South East Asia Statistics (SEAsia Stats)" Website recently published the Length of the Railway Lines of each of the Countries in South East Asia (SEA) that has them based on their own Research taken from Data from various Sources, and as we can see the Philippines has among the LEAST Railway Line Length in the Region, despite the Fact that it has one of the largest Population Sizes in SEA.

Note that two Countries, Laos and Cambodia have more Railway the Lines than the Philippines despite them having much lower Population Sizes than the Philippines at only 8 to 18 million People, compared to the 120 million in the Philippines.

The only Country that the Philippines has more Railway Lines is Singapore, which everybody knows is a pretty small Country, with a Population Size of only 6 million People in a Land Area that is only one-third that of the size of Davao City.

Singapore is, of course a very Progressive City-State and their Railway Lines are among the best in the World, which the same can't be said about the Philippines. All of the other major SEA Countries like Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia have 5 to 20 times the Railway Length compared to the Philippines.

And yet despite this, the current Administration insists on buying such expensive F-16C/D Fighting Falcon Block 70/72 Aircraft from the United States (US) instead of spending it on Infrastructure so we can at least catch up a bit more with our SEA Neighbors.
